  My HP Photosmart Premium C309 suddenly stopped printing black.

  Everyone recognizes this problem and has a solution?

  I tried to unplug the power plug, power switch, cleaning of the printheads several times (manually), cartridge to give a little air, checked the connections, replacement of cartridge again. Nothing helps.

  Browse the internet: it seems that this problem occurs with the most HP printers.

  See for example: some forum someone temporarily solves the problem by performing cleaning operations for (more than) 7 times, which cost five new cartridges to replace, and after a month or if the problem recurs.

  I wouldn't do this because I don't want to empty an another XL cartridge and then discover the problem recurs.

  The printer (bought in April 2010) is connected through the USB port on a Mac Pro 8Core with OS - X 10.6 (I always use only paper HP and HP original cartridges)

  This "Absolutely" worked for my c309! He started printing gray yesterday, then I finally got the blank pages. My first thought was that HP has screwed me again! lol but I tried the post above... I have unplugged the printer for more than 25 seconds, held down the 3 and # buttons simultaneously for another 25 dry more plugged in printer and now the buttons down then made for another 25 sec.  Had to reset the lang. and the country, but after a few minutes he printed a perfect test page and I was able to print all my docs now!  It was a solution easy vs on the removal of the water and heads/cartridge, etc.  I would try this first and if it doesn't work, then you can try other patches.   What I did and it worked has been reset to the factory settings, unpluging the printer during ± 25 seconds

  put a new black cartridge in and now it will not print black - going to test the page and color printing - can hardly see black text on the test page - gray value - has always been - no other changes have had recourse to the same printer for a little over a year.  Only clean the print heads still no black printing.

  I understand that you have an Officejet 6000, which is currently not print black ink. I'm sorry to hear what is happening, but I will do my best to help you.

  I suggest that you first look through this document for Troubleshooting print quality problems because it may be a few steps that you have not yet tried.  This document 'Print head problem' or "Print head seems to be missing or corrupt" Message appears on the computer has also a few steps to know how to clean the print head manually.

  If all else fails, take a look at the Bob_Headrick station for soaking your printhead.

  I have a Photosmart 5510 new, which was working fine, then suddenly stopped printing black.  Replace the cartridge and still nothing.  Prints fine colour, but not black.  No error message, just jumps print anything in black.  Excluded bone by the attempt at analysis and still nothing.

  Yay! I'm happy now. I did the thing to chat online with technical support and that's what I got: on the front screen of the printer, press the arrow to the right, and you should see an icon "Setup." Press on that. Then press tools, then scroll down to "Clean print head." Press the key. When it's done it spits out a test page and voila! It now prints. I hope that this works for some of you all!

  I tried the thing to wash and dry a couple of times.

  He has not worked for me.

  I had already ordered a new Printhead and installed yesterday.  But it didn't work after aligning the print head process either.

  I have tried resetting by unplugging the printer and hold the # and 3 buttons on the keyboard.  He rolled and then he started printing in black ink.  Yay!

  I don't know if the old print head would have worked if I had tried the # and 3 button Reset the process, but I'll keep the old one just in case where (after I wash again).

  Just happy to have a machine working again.  Testing time to go buy more ink after you run most of the color cartridges down with reset and alignment.

  Same thing happened to me. Black print cartridge has just stopped printing all of a sudden. I changed it a couple times but without success. Tried the workarond provided by someone else in this thread (type of glossy paper, normal quality) and that seems to work so far.

  Could someone HP help? My printer is out of warranty and 1.5 old now.

• Photosmart 6515 stopped printing black

  Printer worked fine for a year.  Low so changed black cartridge (HP only), did the setup and does not now print black.

  Completed all the steps, cleaned vents, print heads cleaned, etc.  Still does not work.  Tried another new cartridge, still does not work.

  Started restarted plug pulled... nothing is done.

  Of course, it's just more under warranty...

  All solutions... ' t won't have to buy a printer new will not be HP this time

  HP Office Jet 6500An running under Apple's OSX was OK, the next day asked to print (black only) and print completely white sheet.  Ink cartridge shows more than half full and seems OK. prints other colors without problems.  Situation is the same when you use another computer OSX. Have removed and replaced the same cartridge and have disconnected and reconnected the power.  Out of warranty (I think) and not worth hassle of maintenance.   Ideas - or replace?

  After several weeks of back only comes with HP support with a 3070 printer does not print black, I can share the information below:

  1. based on the number of people reporting this issue online and because of this same failure happened TWO printers I've had (the first was replaced under warranty) - there is a problem of quality of serious range with this model.

  2 HP are aware of this problem and offers an extended warranty of "non-public" (private via the forums) up to 2 years instead of 1 year warranty.

  3. If more than two years have passed since you bought the printer (like me) - so bad, next time buy another brand.

  I know that I won't trust this brand in the future.

  After printing a 40 page document, for the most part, black text, my B109n now print in black only very very weakly, effectively unreadable. I have already installed a new black print cartridge (364XL), also cleaned the heads, re-aligned, printed test sheets (useful if your s/w showed me what the test page should look like on the PC screen (or asses intelligent no HP patented this idea?  :-)). Printer head kaputt maybe? If so, can I replace it it me?

  (I saved my day changing the color of blue clear text to print with cyan - which gave me the impression of doc that I absolutely needed today :-)))

  Some time previously, on print quality default settngs, black would be weak or incomplete on the last lines of a page. If there are more pages, each would start fine but have poor quality down. I changed the setting from standard to high quality and the problem seemed fixed. These days the poor quality near bottom of page returned. Now the black print at all, even after a new cartridge and the head cleaning. Colors print OK. I need to replace the print head?

  In fact, remove the ink tanks & placing the printhead in a flat shallow of Windex for 2-3 hours has helped produce a nozzle test print which was sharp as a cleat, black included.

  Have used the Photosmart Premium all-in-One, C410b, for the past two years without problem, then today at half way through printing 18 page as it appeared that the photo or black cartridge ran out of ink.  I checked and found the black was 80%, but the photo was empty.  Changed the picture and now all I get is gray where black should be or nothing at all.  Searched the web and found I was not alone and have tried all the proposed solutions without success.  Do not have a cartridge spare picture currently and reluctant to buy if the appliance is defective in Terminal.  This appears as ongoing for several months now and would like to receive advice please.

  See the troubleshooting steps described in this document.  Be sure to check the vents, as described in Solution 6.  If this does not resolve the issue of the post here can help.

  cartridge always half full, just stopped, removed and reset. also have replaced cartridge, still not printing. Downloaded new hp diagnostics utility, which says that everything is OK! Cannot print to show all that will not allow everything on printer says "cartridge above seems to be missing or damaged. See status screen on your computer for more details". Did it, gives me no more details on the screen.  One no matter what ideas.please?

  I'd do a power reset the printer first:

  While the unit is turned on, remove the ink cartridges. While the power is still, remove the power cord at the back of the printer. Wait at least 30 seconds, then reconnect the power cord to the printer. Turn on the power. Reinstall the ink cartridges, one at a time. Once installed, turn off the power with the touch. Turn it back on. Who can clear the error, but only if it isn't a physical error.
