OfficeJet 6500 wireless has stopped printing black

Printer stopped printing black.

Installed new ink cartridge

cleaned print heads

aligned printheads

switch machine

CYA colors fine print

the printer is out of warranty - about 1 1/2 years.

Windows 7 64 bit

almost ready to Chuck it by the window

Thanks for the info.

I tried the thing to wash and dry a couple of times.

He has not worked for me.

I had already ordered a new Printhead and installed yesterday.  But it didn't work after aligning the print head process either.

I have tried resetting by unplugging the printer and hold the # and 3 buttons on the keyboard.  He rolled and then he started printing in black ink.  Yay!

I don't know if the old print head would have worked if I had tried the # and 3 button Reset the process, but I'll keep the old one just in case where (after I wash again).

Just happy to have a machine working again.  Testing time to go buy more ink after you run most of the color cartridges down with reset and alignment.

Wagon seems a little different from my previous. I have windows 7 64 bit operating system.

When you have changed the cartridge, the printer tried to automatic alignment?  How it went? (Success or failure)

So, you did a printhead cleaning (3 levels is preferable in this case)?

    * Press the key on the front panel of the printer

    * Press the arrow on the right for tools, then press Ok

    * Press the arrow on the right for the clean Printhead and press Ok

I also remove the black cartridge in the printer and try to clean the electric contacts with a clean, lint cloth and water.  Also wipe the contacts in the printer (make sure it is turned off during this operation).

There is also a document with the steps to solve a problem of printing such as this one.  The document can be accessed here.

If you get to step on replacing the printhead, then you have two options.  This being a wireless Officejet 6500 (E709n) it is probably out of warranty.

    (1) we can try the workaround provided by Bob_Headrick in the thread found here.

    (2) you can buy the print head since with CN643a part number HP parts store.  The print head sells currently for about US $70.

    (3) you can buy a new printer because it would be not much more than the printhead and would come with a full factory warranty.

    I hope this helps.

  • HP OfficeJet 6500 wireless do not print because there are 2 days, I changed my wireless router

    Original title: print printer print

My HP OfficeJet 6500 Wireless will not print because 2 days ago, I changed my wireless router. The printer is no longer under warranty and I'm using Windows 7 OS. I have

Assuming that there is a wireless connection to the printer, the most likely cause of the problem is that the printer is configured to obtain its IP address automatically, and the new router has assigned to the printer an IP address that is different from that which was initially awarded.

To check if the above is the question:

Controls on the front panel of the printer allows you to print a Network Setup page:
From the home screen, press the right arrow, and then select Setup.
Touch reports, click Network Configuration Page.

Find the IP address of the printer on the Network Configuration page.

On your computer, go to devices and printers

    • Right-click on your printer icon, and then select "printer properties".
    • Click the "Ports" tab
    • WITHOUT clicking anywhere in the list of ports other than the right scroll bar, find the line highlighted (the one with the box in the box)
    • Is the 'Port' the same as the IP address of the printer that you noted on the Network Configuration page?
    • Assuming that the port in the printer properties dialog box is not the same as that shown on the Network Configuration page, click the "Configure Port" button and enter the correct IP address in the box "printer name or IP address.
    • OK your way out

To avoid this problem does not happen, read the User Guide for the your printer and configure the printer to use a static or fixed IP address.  Choose an address that is in the same subnet as the router but outside the range of addresses used by the DHCP server on the router.  You can find this information on the configuration of your router utility.

For example, most Linksys/Cisco routers use the IP addresses of the form 192.168.1.x and allocate addresses in the range 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.150.  In this case, you should take a static IP as 192.168.1.20 (20 is outside the range of 100 to 150).

  • My Officejet 6500 more suddenly stopped printing wirelessly from my iPad 2

After working perfectly for several months, my 6500Plus HP E710n Officejet-z does not print wireless from my iPad2 or my iPhone 4 s. I use version 5.0.1 on these devices and had used this version before that the printing problem. I get the following message: "Officejet 6500 E710n-z [11E2A9] the printer is no longer available." The printer works fine (without thread) of my MacBook Pro in OS X 10.6.8 version. I "think" that there was an update from HP before it started, but I'm not sure of the timing. Any ideas on how I can get these mobile devices wireless print again?

What router?  Reboot the router by pulling its plug momentarily.

If this does not work, we will set an IP address of the printer:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') 250
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Enter the IP of your router (on the Page of the Network Config) for the gateway.
-Enter for the first DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for second DNS.
    -Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

After that, you will have to redo 'Add printer' using the new IP address.

  • Does everything except officejet 6500 still won't print black not - help!

    Hello

HP Officejet 6500 E709a, purchased in June 2011, stopped printing in black ink one day last week.  Quickly, I ordered new ink and replace the cartridge.  When he wouldn't even print I started troubleshooting and followed all the steps.  After cleaning the print head, a few letters of a printed page, but no more than that.  This gave me hope so I ordered a new print head, which was installed today.  No improvement, so I replaced the color ink cartridges and reinstalled the black cartridge, which all appear to be properly ventilated.  Still no improvement. only a few shadows black letters.  It is by generating messages "alignment" or "ink system failure".  So now, I replaced all the ink cartridges and the print head.  It prints color but not black.

Really, I love this printer and have had no problems in the past.  It's only a little over a year and I do not use it too.  I didn't do a new printer and now that I have invested $100 in ink and Geraldine Chief I would like it to work.  Help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

    Marene

Hi John, I was afraid of that... but thank you for your time and your advice. Marene

I've updated my router and got a new computer and cannot find a way to connect them to my old printer. I followed all the steps I learned other questions and instructions, but nothing helped.

  • HP 6500 E709A does not print black

My model HP Officejet 6500 E709A old two year has stopped printing black ink. I figured it was because of the black cartridge down on ink because the print is very low. So I put in a new jumbo size 920 black inks. Now, I get nothing. I tried a lot of stuff mentioned on these long threads from 15 to 46 page on the site of HP aid without result. These tips included restart while holding the 3 and the sign # etc. (this worked last year and corrected the problem).

I took all the cartridges and inspected the transport. The grid in stainless steel under the black ink is spotless and shiny silver, so I think no obstruction is a problem. Others have a bit of their visible residual color so it leads me to believe that no ink draw us out of the black cartridge.

I deleted all my HP programs and reloaded them. The problem persists. Why put in a new cartridge would kill the machine?

One thing I am is sucking the remaining ink in the other colors making alignments and all that. Add to that, a colossal waste of time.

Oh yes, the plastic strip is off the air intake.

    Any helpful ideas?

In all honesty to HP and help others unnecessarily, which would have to buy another printer, I should disclose that I found a viable solution to this maddening problem of black ink print do not. In the last month, I left this problem while I checked around a new printer. I found that practically all non commercial printers (homeowner grade) have some deficit or question, then I tried one last time to fix this and succeeded.

My first attempt in rinsing / soaking/rinsing of the print head for 15 minutes in a solution of water and wipe carefully failed.

Others have soaked the print head in a solution of lukewarm water with a bit of added dishwasher detergent. I tried this by placing the print head in a bowl of soup with a little more than an inch of hot water and change the water several times over a period of 24 hours. I then rinsed/soaked in hot water plain to ensure that no soapy residue remained the printhead.

Later, I took, shook off the remaining water and then dried everything that I could with a paper towel, especially the rear electrical contact area.  However, I do not dry a period extended time and voluntarily left the heads of ink still wet/wet internally (gray color ink screens). This plan did not work, I was going to throw the printer anyway so there was little to lose if it has triggered and shorted.

But it didn't worked and continued to do so for several days. If this success was due to a prolonged soaking, SOAP, or return the printhead running before tiny remaining bits of black ink can dry and redurcir is uncertain. I think that it is a viable solution for those with no possibility of better.

put a new black cartridge in and now it will not print black - going to test the page and color printing - can hardly see black text on the test page - gray value - has always been - no other changes have had recourse to the same printer for a little over a year.  Only clean the print heads still no black printing.

    Hi rea123,

I understand that you have an Officejet 6000, which is currently not print black ink. I'm sorry to hear what is happening, but I will do my best to help you.

I suggest that you first look through this document for Troubleshooting print quality problems because it may be a few steps that you have not yet tried.  This document 'Print head problem' or "Print head seems to be missing or corrupt" Message appears on the computer has also a few steps to know how to clean the print head manually.

If all else fails, take a look at the Bob_Headrick station for soaking your printhead.

My Officejet 6500 Wireless All in One Printer (E709n) print not black-and-white, or barely.  It was working fine the other day. I changed all the cartridges (used only genuine HP cartridges).  Print - prints color but not black.  All of the suggestions. • Officejet 6500 wireless printing problem

Hello. Last week I got an Officejet 6500 Wireless, used. (toll-free from a friend)

Last week, I installed a new black ink cartridge. Yesterday I printed something for the first time and it worked very well. Today, I sent a print order for five pages to a single page text document (no color on the document). The machine three copies fine, then the last two are out stained as if the ink was running out.

I went out the black cartridge and it shook a little, used a can of air to eat the area where the cartridge fits inside the printer and I tried again, but now I get only blank pages! Does anyone have an idea of what could be the problem?

I'm sorry you have a problem with the printing of blank pages. It could be a couple of different reason.

The print head may need to clean or replace. Sometimes the cartridge needs to be cleaned.

Print a self-test page and see if you get white pages.
