HPDM 4.4.1 T5530, T5540 and T510

Hello!

There are some known issues with HPDM 4.4.1 and material subject? Do the wes7 image the same way as I do with winCE image? I could run a winCE on T510 image? Are there issues about with mixing these customers with this version of HPDM?

Kind regards

It's a licensing issue, if you bought the t510 with WES 7, you can't put this on it and vice versa.

The latest version of WES 7 and the t510 are only supported with HP DM 4.5 MS-2, but it does not support this so you would need 2 HP DM Server to use two different images.

We have recently updated our HPDM in v4.6 with SP2 and it seems to work perfectly.

We have one of our customers light t510 upgrade then ThinPro v5, which went well, but now we cannot see or manage HPDM device!

I hope that this is just an oversight on our part, but anyone can shed some light on what to do to manage the customer updated please?

I managed to navigate to the file/usr/sbin/but when I run the command hpdmagent I get a "error while loading shared libraries: libdmerrhandle.so: cannot open shared object file: no such file or directory".

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the Linux command prompt, etc so do not know how to get the log for you.

I'll try to reinstall ThinPro 5 on the device to see if that helps.

  • HPDM: HPDM replace self signed SSL certificates for server HDPM and master repository

I am trying to replace the automatically generated self-signed certificates (issued to DM) issued by DM server HDPM and master repository.  I'm NOT arbitration FTPS, HTTPS embedded HPDM or CERT Thin Client Agent server.

I already have CERT for the installation of our own internal domain CA for FTPS in IIS and the built-in Apache HTTPS server.  These work properly and pass tests of repository for both protocols.  I also have questions for Thin Clients of our internal CA very well.

I am interested in the HPDM real server cert and cert master repository. These are generated automatically when the two services start.  They use a very weak MD5 hash and key RSA 1024.  I can't find any documentation around that, with the exception of troubleshooting, in which you can remove these certificates restart services and they will be regenerated.

    Here are the paths certs\key
HPDM % install Path%\MasterRepositoryController\Controller.crt (Cert repository)

HPDM % install Path%\MasterRepositoryController\Controller.key (repository key)

HPDM % install Path%\MasterRepositoryController\Client.crt (HPDM Server Cert)

HPDM % install Path%\Server\Bin\hpdmskey.keystore (Both HPDM server and repository Certs and keys) (not sure what format it is in.  It is not PEM and P12 ok I can say)

There are also some HPDM % install Path%\Server\bin\hpdmcert.key.  Don't know what it is.  It's the key to the server HPDM but deleting it does nothing and it is never re auto generated in one of my tests.

I am able to replace the Controller.crt and keys with my own files CA internal those emitted very well.  The service started and no errors occur.  However if I replace the Client.cert (HPDM Server Cert) with my own service will start but there are Socket SSL errors in repository logs and the HPDM server could not connect to the master repository. I have no idea where the key file is supposed to be for HPDM Server Cert.

Can anyone help with this?  I can't find the configuration files for the service to generate their own certificates.  If I did I would try at least to change the config to do not use MD5.

    Hello

These certiricates between HPDM server and MRC are not designed for customizable. Please submite one scenario if you have concerns of security on it.

    Just for info:

hpdmcert. Key is for communication between the server HPDM and gateway HPDM

hpdmskey.keystore is for communication between the server HPDM and MRC

server_keystore is for the commhucation between HPDM server and the Console HPDM

I saw a couple of L410 using1.8"SSD and I wonder if this model (Thinkpad T410/T510) has any restrictions of use 2.5" SSD I should know before to upgrade my HD.

Has anyone installed a 2.5 SSD "in a Thinkpad L410/L510? or...

does anyone know why lenovo uses 1.8 "instead of SSD 2.5"?

The T410 and T510 can use 2.5-inch SSD. 1.8 inch SSD in these machines comes with an adapter inorder to make them fit in the slot.

  • T510 AD expired password

I'm in an environment Windows Terminal Server R2 2012. All servers, including my domain controllers are 2012 R2. Currently, I am working on creating a password policy to force users to change their domain password every 60 days.

Password policy worked on the thin client T5550 once I disabled local authentication on the client and the RDP session request credentials when it hits the server.

My problem is that I can't find the place to do it in t610 and t510 models. She wants if authenticate to the Thin Client operating system that works when you are not required to change your password, but once the password expires or is the force of change it will not allow the user to connect.

The T510 is running an exclusive HP operating system and no Windows CE or Embedded as my former models. I tried to flash with windows, but it is not registered on the machine and won't take.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

The following manual will give you more details on the T510.

  • T510 sales Question

    Hello!

The site Web lenovo, the winter sale ends 27 Jan. Does include T410 and T510? And when free shipping ends?

    Thank you!

To determine this, the easiest method is to choose the material you want to buy, get to the cart and try to apply the discount code.  You will know immediately if it is valid or not.

  • Computer thinclient to Zeroclient

    Hi all

is it possible to "downgrade" HP Thinclients (t510, t5000, t5730, t5740, t610/620) to a logical Zeroclient still using OS (i.e. ThinPro).

We have many different Thinclients which are not used as Thinclients at all and was "managed" manually in recent years.

I want to centralize management using HPDM (4.6 SP4 is up and running, the TCS is discovered) and give users access to our Citrix environment.

I know from other sellers (Eyse, IGEL), there is what we call a 'device Mode' available where no Windows not embedded or embedded Linux is from, instead a purified composed of the kernel Linux, Shell and ICA-Client (receiver) runs and starts just a GUI logon.

Using the WES7 KIOSK mode for example is not exactly what I would have because there is always a running Windows that is a potential risk in the opinion of our security officer. Also, I have different Images with different operating systems to maintain and I want to minimize the time to manage it.

Once again: Y at - it OS of HP ONE that I can run on my Thinclients and would fullfill my "wishes"?

Thank you very much in advance,

    Daniel

    Well, I did it myself.

The doesn´t of FLGRX driver supports the X 1250 chipset installed on t5730/40.

After an update of FLRGX, deleted package FLRGX and the relocation of xorg radeon I am able to run the system on old and new TCs.

    In any case thank you.

  • Gateway device Managemeny could not pass authentication

    Hello

We are upgrading of HPDM 4.6 to 4.7 and the keystore file has been deleted in the process. So, we get this log message whenever we try to send a job to one of our machines:

"Agent denied the task because the device management gateway could not pass authentication".

I deleted the two files of C:\Windows\xpeagent key on one of the machines and that seems to have solved the problem - for this computer. Repeat this process for ALL our machines would be a daunting task.

Is there another way to resynchronize the devices with the server, or are we out of luck?

If we should not touch each machine individually, anyone has advice or scripts to speed up the process?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer!

I can't figure out how to import the database into the latest version of the client server postgre and I already spent a lot of time on this project. I don't have the password to the database to original then I would probably just be stuck again, in any case. We're going to rename the key on clients computers files for now.  Thanks for your help!

  • No sound on Displayport on T420

On my T420, I can not any audio signal via display port. The picture is fine, but the computer can't find all audio devices attached to the RFP as my T410 and W510 don't. The only audio device I have in the audio in the control panel is the accumulation of Conexant sound card. I really don't understand, DP cable works perfectly with W510, T410 and T510 computers. I have the integrated Intel HD graphics card and there is no new audio drivers available in the system of Lenovo update, any ideas?

Just an update, the adapter of those who have had problems with the audio on their T410S ordered and said worked, also works on the T420, it's this: http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-DP2HDMI-DisplayPort-Adapter-Converter/dp/B0017K6BDW/ref=pd_rhf_p _...

    It works immediately.

  • T610, how to maintain existing hostname after re-imaging?

    HI people,

    I have sp3 HPDM 4.5.

    image of T610 ThinPro 4.3 current (T6X43202)

    Updated agent 4.5.3668.17625

As soon as I have a camera HPDM, up to now, things I've tried, work as it should, as far as I can tell.

I can capture and deploy settings and pictures, devices of reset, rename, etc.

However, when I deploy an image (to recreate the image), the host name of the device reverts to the string of HP - default $Mac.

I can then go back into HPDM, send a task Hostname/IP and that works very well,

How to avoid this to 1000 customers that has host name is based on an active tag ID?

What I understand from the documentation, it is supposed to keep the hostname after her recreate the image.  am I missing a checkbox somewhere?

It worked with a more elegent solution more.

    /T5/workstations-thin-clients/HPDM-4-5-SP3-ThinPro-4-3-2-set-hostname-from-asset-tag/m-p/6183487#M17645

As part of the implementation of the machine for the first start, reproduce us a set of bios settings and set the active tag field.

then, with the instructions in the link above, run this command, and it will be re-hostname of the machine with everything that is in the active tag field in bios...

Tested on ThinPro, 4.3.2.  not sure if it would work for other versions...

    Kind regards

  • HP T610: Devicemanager 4.7 SP3 and SP4 break computer thinclient HPDM agents

After update for HP Devicemanager 4.7 SP3 (and also SP4), it seems that the agent update task is broken. He pointed out that the update is successful, but the client does connect to Device Manager more. When you use the applet of the control panel HPDM Agent it does report no version number. Displaying the services applet, it seems that the service Agent of HPDM disappeared.

Looks like the update task is seriously broken. Worse, it is that it does not include a complete agent installation, so how can I reinstall the agent now on the ThinClients?

    Frank

    Hi Chen,

I had to use the Sysinternals Process Explorer to see what process has the file LIBEAY32. DLL in use, it has not been shown in diskactivity of the resource managers.

I finally found the culprit! It seems that the Service of Proxy SSL VNC keeps the file open and it is not clogged up by the update agent package. When stop VNC SSL Proxy Service and by applying the agent to update manually then it works fine.

So I created a group of settings which first disbales the Service of Proxy SSL VNC. Then I send the agent update task. Then the update is done correctly.

Looks like a problem with the package to update the agent that is not stop or disable the Service of Proxy SSL VNC before replacing files including LIBEAY32. DLL.

    Frank.

  • HP t510 and t5565z black screen

    Hello

I have several HP t510 and t5565z thin using HP Smart Client OS we use for VMware View customers. Thin clients for very well most of the time. However occasionally they will get black screens and no longer respond. I would say that this probably occurs during long periods of inactivity may be several hours or more. Has anyone already experienced this? It can occur during a session connected or simply sitting lit all night.

These thin clients also seem to have a kind of construction in both screen saver. Because they will go in this black screen after 15 minutes of inactivity. They return generally, but I can't find anywhere in the settings options or BIOS to kill this screensaver.

To anyone reading this, I found a solution. I found myself by opening a ticket with HP about the sleep function screen integrated with Smart Zero Client generation. I was information this feature was not available without the component of profile manager of the HP Server deployment, you can use this thin client.

I finished the switch back on the ThinPro build because you can control the screen saver and display the power options in the generation of HP. I had a feature request to HP to allow the screen saver and power display options to be greeted with the Smart customer zero built in the future because they added an Admin mode in the last generation, they pulled out for us who do not have enough of them to justify the use of the server component.

  • T520: administrator change of username and password HPDM

    Dear all,

I'm under HP Device Manager 4.6 to manage approximately 400 thinclients.

I need to change the administrator user name or add a new administrator account on all thinclients.

Is there a Posibility to do it without cloning and deployment of an image? I know that you can change the password of HPDM, but I can't find how to change the user name.

    Thank you.

Is there no default template in HPDM for your to add/change the user name.

I suggest do you through command line and using files & records task to run remotely.

The "net user" command will help you do
