  The hosts are connected to some other storage that you want to keep as you move the table EQL?  If you stop the storage, it is similar to pulling on a hard drive in its operation.  Most of the time nothing bad will happen.  But all entries that did not allow the storage is lost.   For applications such as SQL or Exchange is not something you want.

  Hope you guys can help me. I try to install the track of vcloud Director version, and I got most of this work. The problem I have now is that I cannot prepare a host. I installing the server in a cluster, I have no shared but only storage using local disks (wondering if this isn't the problem). I added my vcenter server, which is a virtual machine on a host, but I'm still unable to activate the host for its use.

  I read somewhere on the forums that it must be in maintenance mode, but it does not work. In fact if I do this, the host gets a Red Cross in the available column. On the only host I get an error saying connection refused. The other, they say just can't prepare host.

  Any help would be welcome.

  You need to meet the prerequisites first, specifically to have active DRS.  For the active DRS on the Cluster of hosts in vCenter, for the DRS, you need to have more than one ESX host AND the shared storage.

  Shared storage is a requirement for vMotion (as the DRS is on your virtual machines for load balancing)

  Several hosts is necessary to allow pools of resources (you need a place to load their balance)

  Once you meet the requirements, then you should be able to view the ESX host, when you try to prepare them for vCloud Director.

  Hello, generally, I read until I have my answer, but I can't so I think I give it a try. Somehow I screwed things up with my computer. My main complaint is that I have something running that takes a lot of memory according to the Task Manager. My fan runs often, 1-1/2 minute stop time, pop up messages telling me to stop then reload IE9 sp2. I found some stuff on my event viewer, but I can't seem to cross the first error which is something on my bios. I go to the dell website to try to update with a flash of the bios but note comes up saying that my computer does not accept the flash. I have other issues in both event viewer, but can't remember them that I can't get beyond the the bios issue. The computer is a Dell Studio 1737 plenty of core duo memory 4 MB with plenty of space on hard drive and it seems to do well but all the * running in the background makes it run hot so the fan. All I want to do is get a scan for my installed bios system and install an updated version. I am not able to do at Dell. Maybe they want me to pay to support or something. I did all the FixIt of ms, I ran three different registry cleaners, I ran three viruses different scans, nothing. I've loaded my vista dell disk and tried to recover or repair and cannot do it either. I notice weird things with ie. I've done several downloads for versions 32 and 64 bit, to do the right thing.   I feel that the answer to this is with myself; However, I would ask - I try to deploy a virtual machine model for test purposes and I want the virtual machine must be created on a specific host.  When I start the Wizard "deploy the virtual machine of model", I am only able to select the cluster and not a specific host.   Is it possible for me to be able to select the host to which the virtual machine will be deployed without disabling DRS?

  I guess the real problem here is the drive working, not RAM. They both found messages 'insufficient memory '.

  Historically, Photoshop has always been remarkably well with large files and little RAM. Excess data which cannot be held in RAM are written to the drive to work, and even if it slows down things considerably, it really requires a lot to run Photoshop to a complete stop.

  Of course, you must move to a 64-bit version of Windows. As it is, Photoshop can use less than 2 of your installed 8 GB of RAM. It's not much, but do not attempt to allocate more than 70% in the PS preferences. Process of the operating system and other applications need RAM too. Allowance too will choke the rest of your system and send it to pimples without end-of-file exchange.
