  The operating system is not relevant to reset the NVRAM since the reset occurs before the OS is loaded again.  Try making sure that all four keys are pressed at the same time and kept pressed until the startup chime once and the computer is automatically restarted.

  Make sure you have Windows Defender active:

  1. Open Windows Defender by clicking on the button start , clicking all programs, and then click Windows Defender.

  2. Click on tools and then click Options.

  3. Under the administrator options, select or clear the check box use Windows Defender and then click Save. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

     Do you have any other type of antivirus installed on your computer? What other security products are installed on your host computer (anti-virus, anti-malware, anti-spam, firewall, etc.)?
     These can interfere and stop Windows Defender from work. I would try and disable the other product temporarily and see if Windows Defender starts.

     When you enter the Services (services.msc), the Windows Defender service applet is listed for the automatic start mode? This is shown as disabled, then it never starts.
     If it is shown as currently stopped (with automatic or manual startup mode), can manually start you it?

     You have errors where the viewer in the application log dealing with Windows defender? If so, then that can give you a clue as to what is perhaps the problem.

     If please reply back and let us know the results of your tests.

  I have a PC with Windows Vista Home Premium.  Suddenly, it wouldn't start.  I changed the boot CD ROM and put my Vista disc in and tried to do a "repair" that it came with missing engine or something like this.  After several attempts, I gave up and formatted hard drive losing all my data and programs (rather difficult to backup files when the computer does not start).  So, I tried a complete installation.  I put in the license code and he started the installation.  After a few minutes, the message came;  "Windows Setup could not reset the deployment engine.  to install windows, restart the installation.  I tried several times including completely turn off the computer for several minutes and try again.  I tried several times.  I thought oh well, I will install my Windows 7 program (this and never used).  Error on this installation was: your CPU is only good for 32 bit and Win 7 I have is a 64-bit version.  I'D RATHER INSTALL VISTA BUT need help on the error regarding the deployment engine.  Thank you, Lloyd

• WRT54G can not reset or see the config page.

  Hello. I have a wrt54g that I have configured previously, including wep and mac filtering.

  I have access to the internet.

  Today I noticed that I can't access router config (checked 192.168.1.1 is worn by ipconfig/all).  I tried to connect both wifi and ethernet with disabled wifi.  Under firefox and IE tells me the config page could not load, server not (or order) answer.

  No password or logon screen fails just load the page.

  I tried to reset the router by unplugging the router and all the cables of e'net. I pressed the button of reset for 60 seconds.  When I reconnected it it has rebooted without any reset... he had the same SSID and WEP key. ?????

  At first I thought it was a problem of W7, because I just upgraded, but I can't reset or access to the page of Firefox, chrome or my iphone. Maybe the router is bricked as config is concerned.   ?

  What you have said above, you pressed the reset button with the unplugged router.  That will do nothing.  Plug in the router and wait 60 seconds.  With the power on, press and hold the button of reset for 30 seconds and then release.  Wait 30 seconds and now the router power cycle.  Connect with your wired computer to 192.168.1.1 empty user name, admin password and reconfigure.

• Can not get debugging working

  I can run my code very well but can not get the debugging work. When I click on debug that code runs immediately but in flash builder it says launch ProjectName (percentage)

  and it takes quite awhile ~ 3-4 minutes and then I get the error message

  Hey chris,

  from the looks of it, two things can be wrong here. check your debug configurations and search two fields for the IP address and the IP address of host debug. Was that changes of IP address of your host (DHCP) and you need to update periodically in your flash builder settings. You can check your IP address using your command prompt and appropriate controls (ipconfig / ifconfig). Good luck!

• Can not get to work in Win7 homegroup sharing

  I had a residential group set up between 2 Win7 (profesional) PC

  For "unknown reasons" it suddenly stopped working.

  So I created a new group of House

  BUT now... It does not work in one direction

  PC - A user can not access files shared on PC - B

  User on PC - B can access shared files on PC - A

  The residential group defined parameters are the two same PC... checked and double-checked.

  The only difference I can find is in sharing:

  on PC - B IE. on the PC that cannot be accessed

  only the advanced sharing is available

  -While on PC - A, the [part...] button, which here is grayed out, is available and the network sharing of files and folders can be set up.

  HOW can I make the button [part...] available?

  (NB: this is the same for all the folders I want to share - not only the following)

  ALSO is this the cause of the problem - or just another problem?

• Photoshop 2015.5 can not export the work plan in PNG transparent

  should I upgrade Photoshop to the latest version (2015.5) and now I can not export in PNG transparent work plans and that sucks A * big time

• Installed MAMP 3 and I can not localhost to work

  I just installed MAMP 3 and I can not get the APACHE server to work now. It seems that they have added the Nginx port, while it was just Apache to port SQL.   I use a WRT54G Router I've had for almost two years.  It has the original firmware (v1.00.6, January 20, 2006) and worked perfectly, since I installed it.  Both of my two children (18 +) have NOW laptops, which they keep in their room, and I have problems with them staying up for most of the night on facebook or myspace, when they have to sleep.  I tried to just disable internet from 12:30 to 07:30 with access restrictions, but can't make it work little matter what I do.
