  Hello everyone. I tried to fix something that I screwed up a long time ago. Here's how it started. I have this drive external DRIVE that I keep my photo archive to. I was going to somewhere that I don't remember now, so I wanted to keep away from curious eyes. So I right click on the main folder and 'share with... '. Nobody ". I applied it to all subfolders and files, etc. So of course when I was there, I couldn't access my files either. He says I don't have permission to access. It's understandable.   When I check the security options in detail, I see a number of unknown accounts as owners.

  I always delete but they keep their appearance or it seems that way.
  So I solved my problem by going to these steps. But I want also gives access to my files on other computers. I don't want to change owner every time I want to take a look at my photos somewhere else than on my own computer. Is there a way to solve this problem once and for all? or do I have to do this in a routine. It's very tiring to go all folders and share and delete owners etc.

  OK, I got it, I changed the owner again at all for the entire disk. now I can access all the files. It really scared me for a minute there. Thank you once again.

  Hi, I have really not much about computers, I'm sorry. I tried looking for answers myself but I do not understand much of the language and I don't know if I read the appropriate information.

  I wanted to update my iTunes on my computer (Windows XP) but it doesn't seem to work when I searched for upgrades and click Yes, I want to update. Nothing happened.

  So I uninstalled my iTunes and I tried to install iTunes 10. But when I did, I got an error message with the title of iTunes + QuickTime... say... couldn't access network location \common files\.

  I uninstalled QuickTime, hoping that would help, but of course not knowing what I was doing. It did not help.

  What I Googled, it seemed I had to look at something in the term. I arrived at the spot but have not seen any obvious errors. But then again, I had really no idea what I was looking at!

  I would really appreciate if someone could help me with a language very very basic.

• cannot access the files of another user with the admin account

  I'm on a computer with Windows Vista 64-bit home problems.
  I normally have the computer configured to connect automatically to a non privileged user and rarely use the admin account.
  Recently, I downloaded an update (Finally, more like a relocation to the latest version) and realized that I need the admin account to install properly for all users that UAC would make things a royal PITA with a zillion prompts.

  I quickly disconnected and logged in as admin. Then, I realized that the installation file has been stored in the "downloads" folder in my regular account.
  Worse still, I could not access this folder, or I couldn't tab of future security. All I could do was to 'change the property' to my admin account, but I really didn't block me on these issues. Even from Explorer using "run as administrator" gave me problems, although the DIR command in cmd.com would be the list of people.

  I used the "change user" function to log my account regular and checked the Security tab and saw that the "Administrators" Group had already read and checked 'total control '. Why can't access the admin account? As an admin with XP, I had free access to everything I wanted to leave that I wanted.

  If you have restored your system to factory settings, then you indeed made a clean install and have lost your settings and programs (they will need to be reset or re-installed).  The data may be recoverable according to how you did the resettlement factory (as long as you did a custom installation re).  You have a folder named Windows.old?  If so, your data may be in there, and retrievable.  Here is the procedure: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/932912 (if this is possible depending on how you did the re-install).

  I'm sorry for your programs and settings, but that's how a restore to the factory settings (except for the programs installed on the disks recovery or the recovery partition - whatever you used).  Part of the problem is that programs place entries in the registry system and those who were lost when you did the restore to factory settings (only now has the original registry with any of these other entries) - and you probably also lost files installed in the directories of Windows during install it programs.  Again, the only programs, with which you will be able to work are those who initially came with the system.  Everything you have installed yourself will need to be reinstalled.

  All these answers are system files or folders that you do not have or do not access directly. Some are blocked because of UAC (User Account Control) that is here for your own protection.

  Take control of a file has been a learning experience since very little talked about this with Windows 8 forums.  So what better way to learn than try it on my own and surprise surprise it worked and was much simpler than what everything I read without having to download any third-party programs.

  My files are on an old main drive I removed from my old computer that died.  Using a hard drive Docking enclosure Aluratek I could see my files he laugh at me because I could not access it.  That is until I click with the right button in the file and I changed a few things.

  That's what I did and maybe it will work for others as well.

  Right-click on the file you want to take charge.  Click Properties in the lower part.  On the screen that opens, click on Security at the top and then Advanced down when the open security setting.

  You should now have some Advanced security settings staring you.  This topic you should see the name and then owner listed under it.  Click owner.

  You must Select a user or a group in front of you.  Look down and click Advanced.  Another window will open and on this window to your right next to the box of common queries , you should see a button that says find now, click on it.  A list should appear in the search results.  In this list, I found my name that I use to connect to Windows 8 with.  I double clicked on that and it is up to Select a user or group.  Click OK.  Advanced security settings , be sure to check 'Replace all entries authorization child with entries from this object object' if there are other files in the folder that you want to open.  After having done and again in the Properties box, click OK .  Return to the folder or file and you should be able to open it now.

  I did all this mode without failure and find that Windows 8 is the fun part.  If you have Windows 8 and you want to start safe mode, press F8 will not Mode without failure.  Win + R and type msconfig.  This will open the System Configuration box.  Click Start , and then check in the boot options, starting with a minimum check also.  Press on apply and then OK.  After doing all that in Safe Mode, to get by doing the same thing again.  Win + R at the same time, msconfig and then start and uncheck the startup and restart the computer.

  Hope this helps anyone who ran in the same frustrations that I did.

• Printing a Web page to a .pdf or .xps file generates a file but it is empty. How can I fix it? I have Firefox 40.0 on a new computer laptop for Windows 10

  When I print a Web page to a .pdf or .xps file, it creates a new file, but file Explorer says it's 0 KB in size. These .pdf files will open, but they are white - the only thing that appears is the outline of a page, without anything in the outline. When I print an .xps file, File Explorer shows that it contains 0 KB. When I try to open it, I get a message saying that the XPS Viewer cannot open the file. These things just started for me a few days after I installed Firefox 40.0 on a new computer laptop of Toshiba Satellite with 10 Home Windows operating system. I have the latest version of Flash Player (in fact, I just tried redownloading and reinstalling the current version; that does not solve the problem). I tried to change the format by default to print to .pdf file, but that has not solved the problem. I contacted the chat Windows support site; They told me that it was not a Windows problem.   I had turned off as long as I could before moving to the home of iPhoto to Photos. I now use of El Capitan, with Photos and finds it difficult to find the photo and movie files that I import.   I was so happy to hear about apple's music, I have 400 + live music and I was so excited that I could access all this out of the cloud.

  I want to access my files of Notes from the Mac side.   I can get to the Notes.app in the Applications folder when running in Windows.  I understand that I can read Mac files in Windows.

  I can't get to the actual Notes files indicated in the content of the Note.app folder in the Mac partition.  (Running in Windows 10.)
