I deleted a file, but people can still access it

Someone pasted a link to a PDF file on my website on their Facebook page. My boss wasn't happy on the recorded observations here and asked me to delete the PDF file on our website. I did it, but the link has always worked for the rest of the day. I assume that the file has been cached somewhere, it would be on Firefox? I checked with my hosting site and they don't cache files.

You can reload webpages and ignore the cache to refresh potentially stale or corrupt.

  • Hold down the SHIFT key and click the Reload button
  • Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
  • Press 'Command + shift + R' (Mac)
