  I'm sorry, but you will need a Windows 9 x / ME drive to provide during the XP installation from the XP disc is a version upgrade. There is no way around that. See if you can find a friend with an older operating system disk (not a recovery disk) to support qualification.   I would ask you to contact the manufacturer of the computer for the installation of Windows XP CD and run the sfc scan to check if any system files are corrupt and can be replaced.

  Method 1.

  A few months ago my NB100-12 caught a bad virus and stopped completely startup in windows. So, I downloaded ubuntu on another computer and installed on my nb100 via a USB key. I now want to put windows xp on the laptop I have the original CD of restoration came with the laptop but I don't have access to an external USB CD/DVD drive? Is it possible using another computer that I can put on a USB recovery CD and start from there to recover my system NB100s.
