I need all these NTUSER. DAT files

I need all these NTUSER. DAT files, I have about 20 in the folder my documents. can I delete the 'old' or what?

Hello

You must have something that is saving them in the Documents folder.

There should be 4 (or more) in C:\Users\Your user however name file no in the
The documents in the folder - make sure you have the first and must be current.  What are
the dates on those Documents, any current?

Here's mine:

"C:\Users\My NameRob\ntuser.dat".

"C:\Users\My Name\ntuser.dat.LOG1".

"C:\Users\My Name\ntuser.dat.LOG2".

"C:\Users\My Name\ntuser.dat.rdbkp".

I hope this helps.

I had an old computer that is running windows xp, when I bought a new that there windows 7. the people of tech where I bought it moved my old hard drive of the computer in a backup folder. When I try to open it I get a message that it is an ntuser.dat file and that it does not open I got back two times where I bought and was hoping not to take back a third time. I was told all I have to do is click on it to open. No one knows about it.

The Ntuser.dat file is not a backup file to all, it is a security settings file / your login.  Looks like you need to ask the people who made the backup where exactly they put him.

  • My NTUSER.dat file is 7 860 Ko and I don't have enough space in my C drive, I can remove it?

I have windows XP.  My hard drive is partitioned into C & D drives.  Most of my programs is on drive C and have therefore, swallowed up all the space.  I moved more data on the D drive as possible.  I was wondering what I can remove the ntuser.dat file to free up space?

No, you do not want to delete the file.

See for a description that is easy to understand the file and its purpose - http://www.ehow.com/about_6697490_ntuser-dat-file_.html

I presume that you have run the Disk Cleanup tool... did you also remove all but the last system restore point (see related article)?

  • do I need all these updates of 2009 windows stuck my hard drive?

As I said above, should I all these updates Windows since 2009 bogged down my hard drive too much room on this subject.  Only, I have a GBHDD 120 and can't get answers as to how to remove unwanted files, etc.  Someone please help.

    Yes, you do.

Updates will have only the space they need and remove only you will leave vulnerable and you will be prompted to update again anyway.

However, you can use disk cleanup-

No, it won't, it will transfer personal files and settings. You will have to reinstall your applications from the original installation files or install CDs and DVDs.

If you really want to move your applications to the Vista computer, you will need to buy a commercial programs such as Laplink PC Mover that will allow you to move your programs:

  • Do I need all these pictures?

I found a large collection of photos that also exist in my library of Photos. I have to keep? Disk inventory X seems to associate with the preview application. They consume considerable disk space. Here's a representative trace: C sets/FS-61371d92-a81a-44ed-b35e-4c455b7cb4f0/0A0C9AC1-EBBA-49AC-A810-918BA3ED7C0 David/Library/Containers/com.apple.cloudphotosd/Data/Library/Application Support/com.apple.cloudphotosd/services/com.apple.photo.icloud.sharedstreams/as.

    (1) this seems reasonable (duplicate folder names makes me wonder)? and

    (2) can be removed without disturbing the corresponding images in the library?

    TIA,

    David

They are just files not associated with any program (not to mention the preview). So if you are sure that these are not the images that is with the help of pictures you can delete them.

If this isn't the case, don't.

FYI, the paths that you posted are traced storage iCloud, be careful what you remove.

What 100 TB SSD you, I wasn't aware that it existed.

  • Help!... I need all these Adobe on 'my computer '?

Was just checking 'My Computer' and on the 'C' drive, I'll list what has been installed:

    Adobe Flash Player 11ActiveX (11.0.002.235)

    Adobe Flash Player 11Plugin

    Adobe ReaderX (10.1.3).)

    Adobe Shockwave Player 11.6

Yes, I had internet and read what is supposed to do... but not quite in 'the terms' for me, it's understanable?... I read that if you "install" new you must get rid of the "old"... I have put in place for all updates... So maybe someone can explain if all four of these programs must be "together"?

    Thank you

None of the items you list major components of the Windows - Windows will work fine without them. However it is extremely widespread 3rd party add-ons/programs have installed because they add important features.

Flash Player will allow you to discover a large number of videos/games/multimedia online.

Adobe Reader will allow you to view the PDF files, which are widely used for everything, educational documents, manuals for the hardware. There are other programs beside the Adobe Reader PDF reader - some people recommend FoxIt Reader, but I have had time to try it myself.

You are right to configure them to update automatically the vulnerabilities are often set by these security updates.

  • Mystery Microsoft Files-Do I have need of all these files or can I delete the batch?

I have 3 files on my C drive, all named as a string to a number, for example 6a34b3f7ad5039dc26e3c4. In these cases, there is a 25 folders numbered 1025, 1028, 1030 1031 etc over a folder 'graphics' and 'customer '. then there are all the other files inclusing .bmp for microsoft.NET and set up etc. In the numbered records are 3 files, Eula.rtf (clearly Microsoft but all in Japanese), LocalizedData.xml and SetupResources.dll.

I need all these files or do I have to delete the batch? I'm guessing that they are something to do with the windows updates...

    Thank you

These are usually leftovers from Windows Update and can be deleted safely after you restart your computer to make sure that they are not in use and/or staged for an update that will continue after a reboot.

  • a loop in the data files in a folder

    Hello

I need to watch several data files. How can I browse all files in a directory in order to get the data from these files?

    Thank you very much

An autoindexed FOR the loop would be the way to go.  As we said already, use the folder list feature to get a list of files in the folder.

  • Ntuser.dat locked by system after log off

tons of stuff on the internet about this but no real difficulty. We currently use roaming profiles on a 2 k 3 Server for our Citrix configuration. We met the issue of temporary profiles created because the ntuser.dat file is locked by the system in their ordinary account profile. This has actually been a problem for several years to the contract and I am now cleaning.

We have the GPO to set to point to a share to store profile data, refers to the configuration of the roaming profile.

first thing I noticed was tons of SID keys under HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\Profile list. I deleted all these keys and profiles on the servers of applications under Docs & settings. now on the first login my account has been created on the server, SID created key. after disconnection of application, he removed key SID in the registry, writes data to the profile on hand but profile left on application server because ntuser.dat has been locked. then, the next time you connect, it starts to create profiles of temperature.

Maybe it's a little much info for the real problem at hand, but I wanted to explain the Setup here incase it helps.

does anyone have a solution for this?
UPHClean is not an option because we use roaming profiles. they are always locked.

or does anyone have a script that I could use that force a version of the log off?

any info would be much appreciated. Thank you guys

  • Synchronization of changes to contributor region data files

    Hello

We are currently the subject of a redesign of the site and, therefore, we are working on new models in the region. In addition to coding patterns, we also write new definitions of the region to accommodate the additions and deletions of several elements that relate to our new design. Currently, the items in the new definition of the region are named identical to the former definition of the region. Doing so, however, can become a maintenance problem in the future that some names are not necessarily to their end in the model and the site as a whole.

I want to do is rename these items (which are incorporated within the definition of the region) so that their names are more relevant for their new purpose. The challenge with this involves all data files existing contributor. Obviously, we don't want to repeat these contributor data files to adapt the new names within the new definition of the region. It is with this problem, that I turn to you, the experts for help: is it possible to synchronize changes made to a definition of the region so that they also appear in the contributor data files?

For example, if I have an element named "ImgLarge" I would like to rename it to "IntroImage", I would that all my data files of the contributor that are associated with this definition of the region to rename their 'wcm:element' from 'ImgLarge' to 'IntroImage '. Through testing, I noticed that this does not change the contributor data file. In fact, the contributor data file retains the existing (ImgLarge) with its data item and just creates a new element (IntroImage) for me to fill it with content. I wonder if there is a tool or process available to synchronize changes made to a definition of area out to its contributor data files until I turn to writing a script for this.

Here is a summary of what I'm looking for. Essentially, I want just the data files of contributor to resemble their definitions of the region, while keeping the same content ' if their names change.

    1. modification of the element name is reflected in the CDF (as discussed above)

    2. removal of the element leads to the deletion of the content of the CDF

    3. Add the item gets reflected in the CDF (this is done natively, as far as my requirements go).

    Thank you for your time!

There is nothing I know of out of the box which carries out this mission.

You should be able to write a custom component to do this. You will need the following:

1 search to find all IDUS who have a particular xRegionDefinition the tag on them.

    2. an analysis of the XML library.

    3. a mapping between the new values in the definition of the region and which must be replaced to the CDF.
