The printer is properly installed via radio one by one 192.168.xxx.xxx local/static ip, dns is the high 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. the computer is on the same local area network and 7 64 home. the router is netgear dg 834.   Your domain name has decided to 99.245.xx.x. If you go to www.test.tzo.com from the location of the host, you must see this IP address. If these numbers are the same, then all with TZO works correctly. • Need help installing BEFSR41 router

  I need some help configure a router BEFSR41, that I bought recently.  A year ago, I got a WRT54GS router and was able to set it up to my Siemens modem DSL 4100 b without any problem.  (Maybe I was just lucky before when I set up the wireless router)  Now I have misery BEFSR41 to work.  I tried to replace my BEFSR41 in the same position as my WRT54GS by using the same configuration.  I'm reproducing the setting on my WRT54GS BEFSR41 router to the wired connection. I took the "Automatic Configuration - DHCP" on my WRT54GS, so on the BEFSR41, I choose "obtain an IP address automatically".  I also activate local DHCP server from 192.168.1.100.  This should configure the BEFSR41 as WRT54GS, right?  But I couldn't get on the internet using BEFSR41 with this configuration.

  I checked the routing table for the two router see if it makes a difference and noticed that the only thing different is that the routing table for BEFSR41, the fields of the gateway is 0.0.0.0, but they have correct values on my WRT54GS.

  Another difference between the two routers is that on the screen of my WRT54GS State, he showed entry 192.168.0.1 DNS1 and DNS2 and DNS3 entries are empty.  On the State of BEFSR41 screen, it showed DNS1 as 192.168.0.1, then he repeats DNS1 as 192.168.0.1, and finally another DNS1 entry is empty.  How important is it that on the status of the BEFSR41 display, is to show field DNS1 3 times? (instead of DNS3 DNS1, DNS2)

  I suspect that the reason the 4100 and the BEFSR41 do not play well together is that both of them use the proxy DNS servers.  DNS proxy on the BEFSR41 servers run 192.168.1.1 and the DNS proxy on the 4100 servers run 192.168.0.1.   My bet is that "double proxy servers" are simply not passing addresses correctly.

  As to why the 4100 b works with your old router, but not with your most recent router, I'm not sure.  Is your 4100 several years old?  Often old modems work with older routers, but not with the newer routers.

  I think that it is best to place your 4100 b in Bridge mode.  It would like to convert it to a real modem.  It therefore would not have an IP address, or make your PPPoE connection.  This would be "Not used PPPoE" (on the modem).

  Your BEFSR41 would have to be configured to your PPPoE connection.

  The decisive factor here is going to be if the PowerConnect and Cisco have different Broadcast domains from each other. If they have a separate broadcast domain, then the method you mentioned should work fine. If they share broadcast domains, then you want the physical connection to the two switches in general or Trunk mode, allowing the VLANS on the connection.

  I need to buy a new router that supports NAT loopback so I can access internal LAN servers of other customers of LAN by using the public URL address (external).

  Ideally, I would like to talk to services to customer or technical, but support at an alarming rate, Netgear make that available. It makes me seriously concerned by the lack of technical support and maybe I wouldn't even go with Netgear in these first impressions. In any case, let's see how this investigation goes first.

  So I need a cheap home router, which offers a good reliable fast WiFi connection like wired connection, IP and of course NAT loopback address reservation. Oh, and it should be on sale in the United Kingdom.

  Has been said by Virgin that although their modem accept 20 MB, my wireless router (a 4 years old Lynksis BEFW1154) won't let me get the faster speeds. As a "silver surfer", I could argue the point with their advisor, because honestly I don't know what he was doing on. What I know, is that I pay a monthly display for flow rate of 20 MB, and having control of internet speed, all I get is 3.3 MB download and 0.9 MB Upload. Do I need a new wireless router?   HM... I guess that the Cisco people know what they're taking everything. The AR5005 is a b/g card and there should be a good reason to not work with a router that is able (the E2000 is able g) g.

  I just started styding for CCNA, so I'm totally new to Cisco stuff. Recently bought a router 871W and spent two days in a row trying to configure internet connection with no luck! I use the port console for the configs and SDM/CCP. Would be greateful if someone could tell me how to do simple configs of internet connection. I googled everything but it's still confusing. I can't assing all-IP ports FA 0-3. I used instead of the VLAN. But all tutorials use FA0 and when I try to assign an IP address to FA0 it gives me some L2 cannot be assigned or something... :/ And I am also confused at what address IP use for WAN.

  I connected the cable between the Modem and the LAN of the PC port and copied some IP addresses which I think I have to use to configure the router for internet connection. And here they are:

  ISP IP: 76.114.54.255

  SUBNET: 255.255.248.0

  GATEWAY: 76.114.48.1

  DHCP: 69.252.97.4

  DNS: 75.75.75.75

  75.75.76.76

  you could ask your ISP to perform a reset/clear MAC add and try again?
