Why you are posting in the forum, IE?  Maybe the reason why you try to use the CP is to enter Internet Options?  If so, you can do it without the help of Windows Explorer (at least on your operating system) starting (using the Task Manager if necessary): control.exe inetcpl.cpl

Otherwise what your problem probably means is that you have added something new to the root of the control panel which is not compatible with your OS, causing thus the Windows Explorer (not IE) crashing.  In this case, the same way you could get in Add Remove programs without involving Windows Explorer by starting: control.exe appwiz.cpl

  • Cannot open the control panel and workstation - "Windows Explorer has stopped working"

Original title - I can't open my computer or control panel.

I try to open my computer or control panel so I can uninstall something I think that may have caused a problem. When I try to do so, a window opens saying "Windows Explorer has stopped working". I don't know what to do. I think it was some game, I installed recently which caused this.

Restart your computer in safe mode by pressing F8 just before windows logo appears after intervention by the bios. And see if you can open my computer or control for safe mode. If you then uninstall the program/game where you doubt. also run msconfig and remove startup programs that you do not use frequently and do not trust. Also if you have recently added a toolbar or of any custom theme and then disable it. then reboot in normal mode and see if the problem persists. It will be useful.

  • Windows 7 error: "Windows Explorer has stopped working" when you try to connect to network shares.

I recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate on my laptop - clean, no upgrade. It's in the CARDS and not a copy of the beta version. When I try to connect to a network share, I get an error. "Windows Explorer has stopped working". If I go to start > run and type in \\servername\users, I'm prompted credentials. I enter domainname\administrator, then the password, as soon as I get an error message indicating that "Windows Explorer has stopped working" then by «Windows Explorer restarts...» "and then refreshes the screen. If I open computer > network > Servername, I invite myself again for credentials, but get the same message. The name of username/password combo does not seem to make a difference.

An additional singularity, I went to control panel > "Backup of your computer", and when I was invited to a network location back up my system, I gave him the same set of location and network credential and the system have been successfully saved to the network drive.

Press Win Logo key + R, type: fsmgmt.msc

    You see your own actions?

If so, open the credentials manager in Control Panel and look for an entry like your network logon. Delete who can clear up.

    (b) search for the following services

    (c) Net.Tcp listner adapter

  • _ "WindowsUpdate_800700CB" "WindowsUpdate_dt000" ___Host that process for Windows Services has stopped working as was the closed .___The system not found the environment option entered .___User control of accounts

I tried to download a 'Virtual Villagers' Limewire program (what was I thinking?) and then I had all these virus that messed up my computer big time.

I have the error messages are:

Host process for Windows Services has stopped working as was closed.

The system could not find the environment option that was entered.

When I try to install the updates:

    "WindowsUpdate_800700CB" "WindowsUpdate_dt000"

The change I made before all this was trying to install Limewire "Virtual Villagers" program.

I tried to go through the files and remove the sources of the Trojans, I ran several scans Malware Bytes (each indent to 4 Trojan horses, Rpot Kits, Ad/Spyware every time) and recently tried the Windows scanner. Who found 2 Trojan horses and withdrawn. Subsequently, I made a Malware Bytes scan which found 1 Trojan and I removed it.

I'm not able to create, delete or modify anything in the UAC. Uninstall the habit of most of the things I try to uninstall programs and features. I'm more able to control the volume on my computer with the arrow keys and Fn. My Gallery of photos will not preview more and my computer will not install updates. My computer turns off without warning a lot and takes awhile where I can turn it back on and I hope not to have it close back 20 minutes. I try to use the system restore, but it won't work. I don't have a Windows Vista disc.

How I have difficulty to all this and permanently delete all viruses and malware?

    Hello

I suggest you try the following steps:

Step 1: Try to create another user profile, and then test to see if the problem persists

If you do not have a different user account, you will need to create a (see link below). If everything works fine with a different user profile, you can infer that the user profile is damaged, click on the link to find out how to solve this problem.

  • Windows Explorer has stopped working... then restart... only when I try to delete something!

I'm running Windows Vista Business 2007.  I have not had problems with my computer until my computer has been infected with the Malware last week.  The malware has been removed.  The problem I have is when I try to delete a file, the shortcut on the desktop or do anything, I get a display box that appears and says "Windows Explorer has stopped working... Windows is looking for a solution to a problem." Then another presentation box appears and says "Windows Explorer restarts... "and it restarts.  The file will not be deleted. I tried to delete files in multiple places and using several methods of deletion (button Delete, right click and delete, move, delete, etc.)

I tried many actions listed on the support forums and nothing has worked yet.  When I first upgraded to windows I had to turn off user account control because it was originally the System unstable and would not allow updates to install. I made on and off again, but it does nothing to help with that.

ANY INFO on my problem would be greatly appreciated!

Search for malware that were missed, as suggests.

Many times when someone experiences this problem, it may be due to add-ons explore or shell extensions. Consider using Sysinternals Autoruns or ShellExView. Disable Add-ons and non Microsoft shell extensions and verify the behavior.  If he went, reactivate the disabled extensions/add-ons, one at a time and see if you can identify who may be liable.

Try a clean boot, or boot into safe mode.  The behavior persists?

Another option could be to consider the establishment of the hierarchy of the following registry keys in the registry:
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Windows error Reporting\LocalDumps\explorer.exe\
In the explorer.exe key, create a REG_EXPAND_SZ value named DumpFolder and set the value to%systemdrive%\localdumpsdata.  Ensure that the %systemdrive%\localdumps file exists, and then cause the crash to happen.  It must be a dump file in %systemdrive%\localdumps. Download the dump on your SkyDrive file and provide a link.
(Letter is an environment variable that represents the system drive, usually C:.)

Help! My computer Dell laptop keeps telling me that Windows Explorer has stopped working. After that another pop up immediately comes up saying Microsoft explore restarts. It does not give me enough time to get what in the start menu, I was able to start the virus scan twice but it does not end. When I run it in safe mode, it continues to be. Any ideas? I was able to access the control panel through the Task Manager, but it doesn't seem to be any abnormal process running.

    Hi Roar4life88

    1. for how long have you been faced with this problem?
    2. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    Method 1:

You can perform a scan SFC and check. To Perform a Scan SFC -

    a. click Start, click programs, on Accessoriesprincipally made, right click guestand then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow
    b. type the following command and press ENTER:
    sfc/scannow
A message appears indicating that "the system scan will start. Be patient because the scan can take some time.
    c. If all files require a SFC replace will replace them. You may be asked to insert your Win7 DVD for this process to continue.
    d. If everything is correct you should, after the scan, see the following message "resource protection Windows not found any breach of integrity".
    e. once the scan is finished, close the command prompt window, restart the computer and check.

Check the link below for further guidance on scan SFC - mentioned

    Method 2:
Also I suggest you to check if you are facing the same question in the user account new or different administrator account.  You can create a new user account on your computer, and then check.

    Create a new user account-

If you are not faced with the same question in a new user account, you can view the link below and use the steps provided to fix a corrupted - user profile

    I hope this helps.
