I re-formatted my c: drive then re installed windows XP now I'm locked up.

I re-formatted my c: drive then re-installed windows XP. Now windows will ask a password that I don't have. How can I bypass this password or just reformat my drive c: again.   I have to assume that I put a password somewhere, but no password I would have used work wil.

Hello

·         Did you enter the password during the installation of Windows XP?

Every time that Windows XP is installed on a system, it creates a default account called "Administrator" and by default, this account is not protected by Word. Then try to connect using the empty password in safe mode and check.

I suggest you follow the troubleshooting steps form the article and check if it helps.

    Monastir,

What happens when it stops it is have a Sata driver. It is on the drivers cd you received with your computer. You can also start the computer and press F2 to enter the bios. From there down to Configuration system - SATA Operation and change this to ATA. It is located to AHCI. Save the changes and restart the installation. Once you have loaded Windows and drivers installed, you will need to go back to AHCI.

    Hello Edtannjr,

Thank you for your message.  Remember that the operating system itself takes place and many OEM systems contains a recovery partition which can take up to a space as well.

  • Adding an SSD as a boot drive - how to install Windows Vista Start

To speed up my new e9105z, I bought a new 80 GB Intel X - 25 M to reduce disk latency and complete the 640GO HARD drive came with my computer.

Drive has been installed successfully, recognized by the PC and formatted with the Windows Vista Disk Manager tool.  When I use the BIOS tool to set the Intel SSD as my boot drive, it says that some files of startup is missing, and I come to on the HARD disk as the startup disk.

Bottom line: how to install Windows Vista on the SSD and configure it to start?  Did I lose my classic HDD data in the process?

    Thank you

Here is where I am/measures taken.  HP of course makes this difficult process:

    (1) used the CD Creator to make a backup.  (Note that the CD - R does not work with the e9105z software.  Do only DVD-R).  (I tried the system HARD disk recovery image.  He simply reinstalled itself on the HARD disk.)

    (2) the value of Vista installed on the SSD via backup DVDs.  System starts beautifully with SSD.  Hooray! I was about to declare mission accomplished, then...

    (3) Reconnected my HDD SATA cable, she failed to be the startup disk.

    (4) I used disk management to reformat the HARD drive to erase its boot sector.  It is always default to the HARD disk, which is more a Vista on it.  Now, I must go into the BIOS and choose the Intel SSD as boot drive whenever I turn on manually.

Any idea on what needs to be done to configure the BIOS to finally settle the SSD as my boot drive?  The backup system image is still on the old hard drive.  Could that be throwing?

The SSD speed is great, but the 6 + hours spent on Vista reinstall, reinstall and reinstall throughout this trial and error process made a royal PITA to do.  It seems that HP didn't consider that whether by adding a second drive that is bootable.

    Thank you

You should be able to select the startup disk in the BIOS.  Restoring image shouldn't be a factor.  If the BIOS settings do not work, I would swap the connectors between the readers.

    Good luck

  • Error then re install windows XP sp 3 on HP mini 110

    HP Mini 110

    1/160 10.1 Intel Atom

    Windows XP sp3

I tried to re install Windows Xp I received from HP.  I recently bought the computer from rent a Center.  There is no network driver.  I try to save up on PC to a time more early to see if there were drivers then.  I found myself with a password protected sign in which I had no idea what was the password.

I called HP and they sent me 3 discs.  One with the operating system and the other two.  Application and Driver Recovery DVD and Application Recovery DVD, Microsoft Works 9.0.

I deleted the partition the with the copy of windows and then reformat the drive.  I have re installed windows XP.  Once he was done, I went to change the floppy and install the applications.  The discs appear not on the PC.   I got a message there is nothing in the drive.  Also, he kept popping up messages that he detected new hardware, showed several types of different materials. None of the drivers could not be found and I would get the messaged that the device will not work properly.  I went to the Device Manager and deleted all conflicts.

I tried to connect it to the internet in different ways with no luck.   I try to connect directly to the modem.  I also tried and wireless g USB.  Nothing did not work.

I decided to try to repair the installation.  Maybe I had missed something and pulled out the drive too soon.

I took R for repair and asked which copy I wanted to fix.  I didn't know what they were talking about.  I tried several different orders and asked the administrator password.  Nothing that I entered was correct.  After that 3 times I received a message that I was locked.

I decided to go ahead and do a complete re install.  I rebooted and picked up all over again.  The installation has started and got 39 minutes left and an error message pops up saying:

Setup could not register the OLE Control C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Ole DB\msdaps.dll because of the following error.

LoadLibrary returned the error 999 (3e7)

Setup had problems to register the OLE control following DDL

    C:\Program Files\Fichiers communs\System\Ole DB\sqloledb.dll

Contact your system administrator, who can help diagnose this problem.

I rebooted the system and he goes back to trying to reinstall windows and continues to go to a certain point, and the message appears again.  I'm stuck and have no idea what to do next.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Tamara

You must start from the disc 1 again.

  • Windows Vista recovery failed, then I install Windows 8 on the not Bootable Windows Vista.

I bought a PC from a friend, Windows Vista Home Premium.
Has tried to run a system recovery, but stopped by error 0xd0000017.
I then created USB boot killdisk to wipe and clean my hard drive, but I think I accidentally delete the wrong volume.
Not to restart the PC indicating that the file is missing please insert the disc of Windows Setup.
I downloaded and burned Windows Vista Recovery ISO but could not run the "repair", not re - install.
I guess the only solution is to buy an upgrade of Windows 8 and clean install it.

  • resize boot camp partition, formatted and installed windows 7 - now cannot open in vmware fusion

Here are the steps that I took...

1 has started with the copy of Windows XP in the boot camp partition. "This is accessible from VMWare Fusion."

2 resized (from 6 GB to 18 GB) and formatted the boot camp partition.

3 successfully installed Windows 7 directly in the resized partition boot camp (not through VMWare Fusion).

    4. starts in OSX (latest version), open VMWare Fusion and attempted to access the partition to boot camp/vm. Received an error message charging me to disassemble and reassemble the physical disk changes. However, since I did it, he cannot find a bootable disc, therfore making it the useless bootcamp VM.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Paul

Note: These steps assume that you have a default Apple installation of Windows and a VMware Fusion Boot Camp Virtual Machine default partition and if you changed the Boot Camp partition the Virtual Machine to add additional hard disks to be virtual or RAW disk then do not use these instructions unless you backup the Boot Camp partition the Virtual Machine package first.

    1. If the merger is open, close it.

    2. in a Terminal (/ Applications/Utilities/Terminal) copy and paste command, as the following and then press Enter and it will remove the Boot Camp Virtual Machine meta-data partition. Note: This does not affect the Boot Camp partition to install Windows. Also make sure that you copy the entire command below "rm" line at the beginning of the ' (quote) after the p in the Camp. "

RM - dfr "/Users/$ the specified item was not found./Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/Virtual Machines / Boot Camp."

    3. start Fusion (/ Applications/VMware Fusion) and select the Boot Camp partition on the library of the Virtual Machine window, and then click the run button.

Notes: Then, an authentication dialog box appears. "VMware Fusion requires that you type your password." Enter your name and password, and then click OK. (It is necessary to remove the Boot Camp for the merge partition to access it directly).

Then, we should see a Boot Camp partition message stating "VMware Fusion prepares your Boot Camp partition to run as a virtual machine. This may take a few minutes. This occurs once. »

When the virtual partition Boot Camp Machine starts for the first time after this VMware Tools may want or will install/update and restart the virtual partition Boot Camp Machine.

  • Installed Windows 10, now Word opens and then closes immediately

When I installed Windows 10 my screen flashed constantly. Rectified that by disabling "Problem reports and Solution Control Panel" and "Windows Error Reporting Service". But now, when I tried to open my "word" it just opens and then closes immediately.

You mean Microsoft Office Word? This forum is for Mozilla software like the Firefox browser and the Thunderbird e-mail software.

While we are not very well informed on desktop applications, I found a Microsoft article on the use of "repair" which may help:

For disk drive optical feature you n t need to install an additional driver.
You can use your optical disc drive, the usual use of DVDs and CDs?

Can you maybe send a screenshot of this message?

As far as I know when you start the upgrade (upgrade disc put in ODD) you should see THE menu.

  • Satellite A300 - need driver SATA to install Windows XP

I changed my OS winXP SP3.

After reading a lot of posts, I finally installed my new operating system but with SATA compatibility mode. I tried to change again in AHCI mode, but every time I tried Windows hangs at loading. I also tried to install Storage Manager after installation of the OS, but it fails. So I decided to change the XP disk, including the SATA driver, but after downloading all the drivers on my computer I can't find the SATA driver.

Can someone tell me where is the .inf file?

    Thank you to

    Hello

Firstly it is not possible to change the compatibility mode to AHCI after installing Windows. You can only do before installing XP, otherwise you get a BSOD.

However, if you have downloaded the Storage Manager you must extract the files from the .exe file. Open a command line and type the following command:
    ' - A - a - PC:------'

After that, you can copy the inf for external floppy drive files or integrate it into the new XP installation disc.

  • New HARD drive - how to install Windows?

    Hey guys,.

I have a problem with my Dell Dimension 9150. A friend of mine gave me as a gift, because I built his new computer. We put his HARD drive in his new computer.

The problem is: there is no CD of his computer.

I have the original Windows XP and Windows MCE and CD licenses. The Dimension has a MCE key so I would like to install MCE.

After installing a new HARD drive, I tried to install Windows. BIOS shows me the HARD drive. When I start the installation of Windows and choose "Windows Installer", I get to the screen where I can choose, what partition I would use. But installing Windows shows me no HARD drive!

Don't know if I need SATA drivers? If I should need it, where can I find them? And how to get them in the Windows installation? I know that I can load pressing F6, but I don't have a floppy device.

Would be great, if someone could help me.

  • Unable to format my new drive sata hard with windows.

I bought a new (raw) sata Western Digital 2 TB Caviar Green to use as a second hard drive in my system.  I installed it fine and BIOS and windows recognizes it.  I assigned a drive letter with disk management and made the active partition.  In disk management, it shows: Disk 0 basic 1863.02 GB Online - (m :)) healthy (primary, Active Partition BRUTE))

The last thing I have to do to make this drive work is format.  What windows seems unable to do.  If I try to do a quick format within two minutes, I get the message "Windows was unable to complete the format".  And when I tried to do the complete method it seemed to do very well, after about 90 minutes, it was made, to halfway and then six hours later the bar had not progressed at all.  Which forced me to restart my computer I could do something for her again.  Before restarting, he kept saying that I didn't have permissions to do something for the reader.

Normally I think it was a bad drive, but about six months ago, I bought seagate 1.5 TB internal a drive and exactly the thing happened, I ended up sending this rear disc.  Now I start to worry, it's something else.

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium x 64 with service pack 2, I have protection anti-virus and Windows updates to current day without any problem.  5 GB of ram, AMD image treatment.

    Hi Calabrel,

In NVIDIA driver downloads: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us there is one ' Option 2: automatically find drivers for my NVIDIA products ", click the DRIVERS of motherboards. Simply download active x NVIDIA Smart Scan Tool.
