I think I'm going crazy! In Adobe Camera Raw

I think I'm going crazy!

In Adobe Camera Raw, I put my 5 21 Mark II as a 50 megapixels, and it looks a lot like my IMac 27 in. monitor, it has the size and me comparable to the 21, each has been set at 200 resolution.

Also, if I open my 21mp resolution to 72 0r 96, I get much more of the image, then in PS, I just to the top of the resolution here and it is very nice too.

so why should I not just set to 50 megapixels and resolution set to 200?

Migration of 21MP at 50MP resizes upward by a factor of sqrt (50) / sqrt (21) = 1.543 (153% larger), which probably gives a correct result because it is less that double the size of each dimension.

If you resize in Photoshop instead of ACR, then you have the choice of what resizing algorithm to use:

Your original post asked why not always migrate to a pseudo-50MP camera size because it is bigger and still look great.

So although it would be surprising that you can migrate an image of 8660 x 5773, and she is always superb, and you chose these dimensions because you love the number 50 megapixels because that is more than twice as big as native sensor your camera from 21 Member, it's really not the way to go on the resizing.

As a general rule, you want to resize to what are the dimensions in pixels of medium output screen or resize any if something else will do so after having spend the image to the next step of the process.

For a monitor probably already know you the pixel dimensions and can just resize to: dimensions 1920 x 1080 or whether a screen 4K or 5K of plus-res can be.

For printed output, you should have some sense of how many inches, something is going to be and how much DPI/PPP, the printer, and you can just several these two - inches and pixels per inch - to get the pixel dimensions to resize to.  Or use the shortcut in the resizing box where you can specify the PPI and inches separately.

Why must things be resized to the exact size of the Middle out, well, because necessarily resizing adds some sweetness to the image and you may want to counter that by some sharpening and adding a touch of sharpening after that resizing will keep the sharpening to be too sensitive in a bad way.   Sharpening should make things to look better, without adding obvious artifacts in the image.

    I think I'm going crazy!

In Adobe Camera Raw, if I put my 21 canon 5 d Mark II as a 50 megapixels, and it looks a lot like my IMac 27 in. monitor, it's the size and my comparable as the 21mp, each has been set at 200 resolution.

Also, if I open my 21mp resolution to 72 0r 96, I get much more of the image, then in PS, I just to the top of the resolution it at 300 and it is very nice too.

so why should I not just set to 50 mp camera 9instead of buying a new camera) and set the resolution to 200?

You need to understand the basics better.  MP is the number of Pixels.   The resolution is the size of a Pixel is to be printed.

72 DPI means pixels are 1/72 "x" 1/72 there is 5 184 pixels per square inch.

300 DPI means that pixels are 1/300 "1/300 x there is 90 000 pixels per square inch.

    Your sensor 5 d MkII is 21MP 5, 616px x 3744px

    Printed at a resolution of 72 DPI these 21 MP would print 78 ' x 52:

These 21 MP would print at a resolution of 300 Dpi and print 18,72 "x 12,48"

The resolution is the density of pixels in other words Pixel size

  • Failure of Adobe Camera Raw 9.3 dmg for Sony RX1RII with MacBook Pro OSX El Capitan 10.11.5 [using the CS6]

While Adobe says his record the FIRST 9.3 update plug-in for Adobe Photoshop CS6 (Extended) strives to convert directly from the RXRII of Sony camera RAW files, is not. Maybe my MacBook Pro OSX El Capitan 10.11.5 exceeds the 10.11 noticed on the Adobe Camera Raw graph?

    Please notify.

CS6 can only be updated up to a maximum of ACR 9.1.1 to install cab 9.3 in CS6, attempts fail.  You can check which version you have by any plug-in / Camera Raw (I think on a Mac).

You can register CC (LR+PS@$120/yr=$10/mo is the least expensive) or use the DNG Converter to DNG for raw files and the DNG, but not the native raws, open in your older software.

    The DNGC is here: http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

  • First not showing changes Adobe Camera RAW?

Once I have filed all my DNG in BRIDGE using Adobe Camera RAW and importing them in first, first does not recognize the changes.

So overall, I can't see the color of the rank my RAW files, unless I classify them in After Effects directly which is a pain. I would also like that I can drag right to Media Encoder raw files once I have classified the but Media Encoder does not recognize changes to the bridge either.

Any ideas? Maybe my workflow is all wrong, but it has always been easier for me with impressive results.

These changes are saved in the metadata files, not for the mage himself.  My best guess is that video programs are not read the metadata of your still images.

I can't think anyway to change this except to change your workflow.  Perhaps do work in Photoshop and save PNG copies.

  • Will Adobe Camera Raw DNG Converter 7.4 or the work version 8.7.1 on premium design CS5.5 Adobe on a MAC OSX Version 10.7.5 Lion, I recently acquired a new X100S of Fuji camera that is listed on 7.4 Mac download, I can't open the Raw of RAF FRO files

Will be Adobe Camera Raw DNG Converter 7.4 or the work version 8.7.1 on premium design CS5.5 Adobe on a MAC OSX Version 10.7.5 Lion, I recently acquired a new X100S of Fuji camera that is listed on 7.4 Mac download, I can't open the files Raw of RAF of the camera in photoshop CS 5.5 or will I have to spend to CS6 and it will work then?  Thank you very much, Paul

I'm afraid that the answer is the same as your other request. It is not a question of the difference between Photoshop CS 5.5 and the Design Premium version. This is the version number. And Photoshop CS Design Premium 5.5 is only compatible with Camera Raw up to 6.7. The DNG Converter is always your best choice if you're not ready to upgrade your Photoshop.

But then I realize I have not read your question closely. The DNG Converter does not work with any program. It is a separate stand-alone program which is used only to create copies of your DNG (digital negative) raw images. You can use the DNG Converter as your software download, conversion of images as they are transferred to your computer. Then, you will be able to open them with older versions of Camera Raw that are compatible with your version of Photoshop. Some people fear that the DNG Converter means a step further. But if you use it in your download software, I think you will find that it can streamline things considerably.

When you configure the DNG Converter, make sure that a compatibility option that is compatible with your version of Camera Raw. Also, take note that the DNG Converter will prompt you for a FILE containing raw images. Choose the folder, but do not open it.

  • Adobe Camera Raw - cancel a crop or straighten - ESC does not

    Hey guys,.

I'm learning photoshop for the first time.  Currently, I have Photoshop CS5.1, but think about the upgrade to CC in the near future.  I followed as well as tutorials on Lynda.com to learn all the features of the program.

I am currently in the section Learn Adobe Camera RAW and how to use it.  The instructor spoke using her straighten tool or crop tool and how it is not destructive to the image at all.  It said to click on each tool and then press the ESC key to undo the changes that you made.  However, when I do that, it leaves me out of Adobe Camera RAW together.  Initially, I thought it might be because I was full-screen mode, but I hit the F key and tried again with the same result.

What I am doing wrong?  How can I fix it?

    Thanks in advance.

It doesn't seem to work with the tool straighten unless you press ESC before hitting the Enter key.

What you can do is click on the crop tool, press ESC and then go back to the right.

  • Output sharpening in Photoshop CS5 and Adobe Camera Raw (ACR)

Output sharpening in Photoshop CS5 and Adobe Camera Raw (ACR)

I want to do two-pass sharpening - capture and output - with output just before printing. I do the initial sharpening (capture) in the Panel of the cab detail/sharpening, with amount slider game for example, 100.  Then, I open the PS CS5 image as a smart object and use layers and masks for more editing.

My question is, can I go back to ACR for the final (output) sharpening pass?  When I re - open the file in ACR, the sharpening amount slider is zero, but the other three sliders are still at the settings I used at the beginning of the process, i.e., capture sharpening.  If I still once set the amount slider to a positive value, and then open the image in PS for printing, will be my second pass through the ACR sharpening Panel take effect - it will accumulate on top of the initial sharpening?

Moreover, the reason why I want to give sharpening in ACR, rather than, say, PS Unsharp Mask, is if I can use the masking slider in ACR, which is much easier than the comparable techniques available in PS.  I am aware that some people say that you shouldn't perform any masking for output sharpening. I would, however.

    Thanks for the ideas.

Not sure about the amount reset... I think that something is happening out there. But to answer your question, the details of Camera Raw Panel is designed to be a capture sharpening and not designed to be output sharpening. Controls are really designed to regain lost sharpness turning light pixels with an optical system only.

He got out there available sharpening in Camera Raw, but only in the workflow Options button. Click on that and you will see the options. Yes, they apply the good output sharpening, but be careful he applies what he you this smart object... no other layers above or below this layer.

  • 5 d mark II raw (CR2) file is different from the 5 d CR2 file? Adobe Camera Raw error on mk II No 5 d

I use the plugin Photoshop Camera Raw (Adobe) to preprocess the colors, and then complete the prepare image in Photoshop.  Never a problem with opening files CR2, usually from my own camera 5 d.  But a customer sent a few files CR2 which opens not (error says this is bad kind of document).  So far no explanation nor patches from users of Photoshop... thought I would ask experts to Canon.  Why file CR2 from the 5 d mk II fail but 5 d CR2 files all open ok?

Still using Photoshop CS2 and the plugin Camera Raw is 3.7 v.  I really want to continue this workflow (works for me), prefer not to experiment with dpp or other opportunities.  Not ready to move yet to Photoshop CS6.

No, CR2 (and all files camera RAW manufacturer) are modified somewhat for pretty much every version of the camera.  Similarly, manufacturers of software like adobe are always updated their software for the new models.  Your version of Adobe Camera Raw is extremely old, so that it can not read the 5 d 2 files.  And Adobe limited backward compatibility, so I don't know if you can load a sufficiently recent version to recognize the 5 d 2 files.  If you can't, then you're only choice would be to use the Adobe DNG Converter, convert batch files to DNG, the 5 d 2 then read those.

  • Download problems and Adobe Camera RAW update

I'm at the end of my rope here. I tried to download and update my Adobe Camera RAW software, so it can read the RAW of Nikon D750 files but the download of this has been a nightmare.

First of all, download speed, excruciatingly slow. This isn't a problem with my network I checked the speed I was getting is 1 Mbit/s for all other downloads, but for some reason that the download speed for the update is around the 15 and 16 Kbps. I tried to download through the application manager and directly via the Web site.

Secondly, in the case of the application manager, after 5-6 hours of excruciating download, during the night it showed an error message from the application manager was still on (when I tried to update the camera raw through my photoshop cs6, there was also an option for updating the application manager, I tried to uncheck the option (, but it does not really) and could not be updated, and the whole thing closes. Worse still, once I try again, it starts from zero, then no progress haven't saved!

Then I tried directly via the Web site to download the camera raw 9.1.1 for mac Adobe. Again, slow download speed and it maintains have expired. I make several attempts to reboot and finally facing the same issue, all the progress of downloading are lost, and I have to start from scratch.

I write this, I'm trying again through the application manager. There is no way to download the plugin just separately to read the NAVE of Nikon D750 file format?

    Help, please!

Here's the direct download links to the latest versions of Camera Raw.  These are stand-alone installers, but include not only the plug-in, but also the profiles, so downloads are always big enough:

  • I have Photoshop CC 2015, how do I install Adobe Camera Raw & Bridge?

Our IT support tried to download creative cloud but everything is labeled 'Trial' and it is a licensed copy of Photoshop.  Bridge has been uninstalled when this computer has been updated since Photoshop CS6.  Y at - it a separate installation of the bridge and Adobe Camera Raw?  If not, is there a full version of creative Cloud available to be installed with Photoshop CC 2015?  Thank you.

    Hi Jim-Wy,

You can download Photoshop CC2015 from this link: Photo editing software | Download the free trial version Photoshop CC

It would download setup of creative cloud you need to run and he would start the installation of Photoshop.

Bridge CC can be used in another application that can be installed via creative cloud app itself.

Camera Raw is a Photoshop plugin that could settle with the installation of Photoshop.

  • Rename and delete Presets - Adobe Camera Raw (settings folder does not appear)

    Hello

I want to delete, rename, etc... presets for Adobe Camera Raw. I use Mac so I open ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Camera Raw / but the settings folder, where the presets should be, does not appear.

    Screenshot 2015-10-18 18.22.41.png

However, I can use them and if I, for example, I'm trying to open a doc of this file with Photoshop, it appears the library settings, as well as 'Curves', 'Flow', 'The Corrections'... etc.

How do I access the folder settings so I can manage the presets? Thanks in advance

    Screenshot 2015-10-18 18.22.52.png

Trying to find where exactly him are stored by clicking on both load and save settings. You can move them to the location by default if you would like, so rename.
