iCloud favorites / bookmarks

There is a problem with the iCloud favorites since that he was released. iCloud is supposed to synchronize Safari bookmarks across devices, but it does not work properly.

I have an iPhone, an iPad and a MacBook. After I change or remove a bookmark in devices and after a sync-ed iCloud, changes appear twice (as in the old version and as after the change), and deleted bookmarks will be displayed again.

What should I do about it?

and when will be this problem permanently solved?

Thanks for the help

On your Mac, open System Preferences > iCloud. Clear the check box next to Safari, then select re.

On your iPad and iPhone, tap Settings > iCloud. Slide down and then toggle Safari to the coast and then turn it back on.

Give a few minutes of re iCloud synchronize data.

  • Need to update/import my favorites/bookmarks from old G4 on my G5

Monitor to leave the old G4 running Firefox 3.6.23, then (as no picture the screen) using Firewire to mount the G4 HD on my G5 running Firefox 7.0.1

Need to update my Favorites/Bookmarks onto the G5(which as laptop didn't use so much)
On the Firewire G4 'Disk' opened Firefox -> 'Bookmarks' -> 'Organize Bookmarks', & in Library Window -> 'Import & Backup' 'wheel' -> Manual Backup -> filename j.son saved to Desktop of G5.
'Force Quit' the old Firefox, & opened the 7.0.1 -> Bookmarks -> 'Show All' --& in Library clicked on Import & Backup 'wheel' -> select 'Restore' -- Choose file x Manual, select the 'filename j.son' file on the Desktop(supp. a 'backup' of my G4 Fav.s/Bookmarks) -> 'Open'.
This promotes a 'drop-down' that says that 'all of your prev. bookmarks will be replaced'. Click 'ok' -- nothing happens, nothing is replaced

  • When Fire Fox support (again!) for display of multi column (and navagable) Favorites (bookmarks)?

I always use rev 31. This is the last version that is compatible with the add-in on, "Multicolumn Bookmarks 1.5', I have several brands of books collected over the years and the single column format is frustrating and not helpful."

Asked to provide a current version, which is compatible with "MultiColumn Bookmarks 1.5' Fire Fox, or provide a favorite navigable multi-column as option display in a near future program revision Fire Fox.ยป

    Sorry, to complete the thought:

    (1) install Stylish from the Mozilla Add-ons site

    https://addons.Mozilla.org/firefox/addon/stylish/

    (2) then back to the user page of style to get the style (the button should be green instead of blue right here)

  • Will not display the favorites bookmarks bar. Even if I import them or restore them. They appear in the menu fine bar. How can this be repaired?

If I open the bookmark sidebar, it is empty. If I use the menu bar, the Favorites are all here. I tried importing from Internet Explorer, but they still do not appear in the sidebar. I also tried restoring but they do not always show in the sidebar. After restoration and import, I see now 3 Favorites but that's all. I am also unable to delete these 3 favorites as 'delete' is gray. Also, if I try to bookmark a page via bookmarks in the menu bar, and I want to choose a different folder, I see 5 items down, whereas before I could choose whether to save the bookmark to a folder existing of my creation that was rained down. Is there a way to fix this?

Problems with bookmarks and history does not properly can be caused by a corrupted database places.sqlite file.

You can check for problems with the database places.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder.

  • Hi, my firefox crashes whenever I do a right-click on a favorite/bookmark toolbar. Is there a solution to this?

Basically, that's all. Only, it crashes whenever I click right (IE. Do not answer).

Bookmarks + history data are stored in the places.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder. It may be damaged. You can try to remove it right out of Firefox. There is also a separate backup dated bookmarks in the Favorites folder and you can restore the last backup via Favorites (Alt + B) > show all bookmarks > import and backup > restore after restarting Firefox. Otherwise you can also export bookmarks as HTML before you delete the file places.sqlite and later import bookmarks in HTML.

  • Always display all empty but favorite bookmarks in the menu

I've recently updated to Firefox 7.0.1. After the recent problems with the sync, I noticed that when I choose "Show all bookmarks" from the bookmarks menu item, the page is empty, even if I see all of my favorites in the menu itself.

Also, when I try to add a new bookmark (cmd - D), the box that opens is also empty.

    Any ideas?

One possible cause is a problem with the places.sqlite file that stores the bookmarks and history.

  • How can I copy restored c:\documents and settings\myusername\favorites\bookmarks at tab bookmarks Firefox bookmarks?

My computer crashed and I had to restore it to its condition of purchase (2008). I had backed up all my data on Mozy. After the restoration of 12 GB of files, the 'Favorites' folder is in C:\Documents and Settings\myusername\favorites. The old shortcuts are in the folder, but I can't have them at my bookmarks Firefox tab. How can I do this?

You can't do it this way. Those are the Favorites of IE and Firefox can't handle these files. You need to export your IE Favorites in bookmarks.htm format so that you then import this file into Firefox.

    In Internet Explorer:

File > Import/Export - Export to HTML file

    then in Firefox:

Bookmarks > show all bookmarks-> import and backup - import HTML... = HTML file

  • How you import your favorites/bookmarks to Internet Explorer in Firefox?

I have a certain Favorites I want to import into Firefox, Internet Explorer, and I don't know how to do that / even if you can do it.

    In Internet Explorer:

File > Import/Export - Export to HTML file

    then in Firefox:

Bookmarks > organize bookmarks-> import and backup - import HTML... = HTML file

There are other ways to do it, but it will merge these favorites of IE with your Firefox bookmarks.

  • Favorites & bookmarks bar has disappeared

I went on vacation for a week, came back, turned on my computer, laptop and all my favorites and bookmarks toolbar disappeared. And Firefox won't let me bookmark new pages either? I use Firefox 3.6.13 and Max OSX 10.6.6

I tried troubleshooting from the help pages-
Restore bookmarks - can not because I have been away for more than 5 days
Profile check - no new profile has been created. I don't have one.

This may be a problem with the places.sqlite file that stores the bookmarks and history.

  • How to hide or lock a favorite/bookmark folder?

I imported my bookmarks from Chrome folder, but it contains far too many bookmarks to sort/tidy, them (it contains other unorganized folders too) so I was wondering if there is a way to 'hide' or 'lock' the folder so it's always there in the bookmarks menu/unsorted bookmarks / whatever, but any of the bookmarks show when I search something in the address bar.

I know that you can disable suggestions for bookmarks, but I still want to use this feature.

The point is not to mark these bookmarks in bookmarks (library) Manager, but store them in a HTML file that you open in a Firefox tab, or possibly in the sidebar using a bookmark to open this file and have this option checked.
