How do the Lite-On Web site without going through the many companys that seep into my computer with their various software?

The name of the company is Lite-on Technology.

It must be that I need the Firmware Flash on the camera.

    These things die...

Check the Device Manager.  Double-click the entry for the Lite-on, and then make sure the "device status" is "this device is working properly" and that "Use of the device" is "enabled."

If Device Manager indicates things are OK, there is probably a hardware failure.

  • ms - dos for hp pavilion m9340f boot CD

I need to start MS back on a cd on my Pavilion m9340f, but the iso image, I found (win98) does not contain drivers for the cd on my machine drive, so even if the back starts, I can't access it from the cdrom. I need a version of a MS-DOS boot image that contains the drivers for my cd drive (I think it's a toshiba).

HP didn't provide records to start MS-DOS CD for computers or provide support for MS-DOS on newer systems.

I've done a few "FreeDOS" boot disks for different firmware updates, etc. - and often you need to load a separate CDROM device driver for CDROMs of SATA and IDE CDROMS. (as well as a redirector).   It is not always clear pilot who works and who will not.  Also - FreeDOS CD-ROM media is unstable.  I saw a couple of optical drives that I could not recognized on device CDROM ALL driver I could find for FreeDOS.

If you are rolling your own, or search on the internet - I would try to find one with a CDROM SATA as well as an IDE device driver generic one.   But - no guarantee...

The material is a system of handcrafted with Intel DQ35JO Council, latest version of the BIOS, Intel E6850 CPU, 8 GB of RAM, 2 SATA drives.  I know this isn't on the list compatible but is a 'white box '.  I installed ESXi 3.5 on it in the past and got it working, and I saw other success stories with this Board/CPU.  Yes, I have activated the virtualization mode in the BIOS and powered down/up.

    Here is what I tried:

-Redownload VMware-VMvisor-Installer - 4.1.0 - 260247.x86_64.iso to ensure that it was not corrupt (2 copies, against perfectly)

--Also tried another drive (IDE) CDROM

-Created a bootable USB using uNetBootin 4.7.1 and booted from it

-Switched SATA setting in the BIOS from AHCI to IDE

I get the same exact error.  I searched here and everywhere and don't find any reference to this error.

Help - all do you offer for my next step?

Have you had a previous vSphere installed on your system?

I had the same error on my 'white box' (in fact, it is black).  I used to run esxi 4.0 (u2) on my Acer X 3300 (6 GB, Quad Core AMD Athlon II).  Controllor internal SATA is not supported, but it allows me to use the box for normal windows task and ESXi is sitting on a SDHC 4 GB flash card.

When I started my freshly burned ESX4.1 cdrom, I got the same error.   I thought that the fact that maybe there was an existing install on my destination drive (the flash memory card), and that the CD could not perform an upgrade.

So, I tried the upgrade path (first trying to utility of the host and the .xml error message).  After reading the manual, I did the upgrade from 4.0 to 4.1 using the device of vMA and I must say that esxi 4.1 works great on my white box.

Then I suggest that you try upgrading and see how far that gets you.

Good luck (and a beautiful weekend)

    Hello

Two days ago, that I tried to P2V my old gentoo box from the data center to a test server ESXi here at home.

I did the following steps: downloaded the converter and installed the server on my linux only to text box, opened ports tcp and permitrootlogin on ssh.

I read that it should be entered in the files etc/udev/rules.d/50-udev.rules, but am confused about which applies in this case and if so, what would the Scriptures EMC disk. Now you can return to the pop-up screen and click OK, then it will run a few clusters check orders.
At this point, you should be able run crs_stat t of the $ORA_CRS_HOME/bin and see the gsd, ons and resources vip in the crs stack. You now have a stack of cluster. Now, install the binary files of DB and make install software "only".
The changes to the standard .bash_profile, or what ever bomb you they use for the oracle unix user name so that the oracle_home and ora_crs_home paths are known.

Now ready for the icing on the cake using dbca. DBCA is the simplest method, but I set myself some listeners, asm and data bases from scratch. When you run dbca you will be asked if a listener does not already exist, and that you will also be asked to implement asm disk groups according to the choices made. After choosing the DSO of installation you will be presented in step 3 of 5 ASM instance create. Click on the button "settings of ASM...". ». The next screen popup will give you the choice of 3 parameters. To the right of the parameter asm_diskstring in the choice of value column the access path to the DSO from your drive, in my case, I'm going home "/ raw/asm. After you click OK on screen 3 5 a pop up should see the DBCA will now create and start the ASM... then click OK.
    .. Suite...

Then again another pop up screen and show that he "failed to retrieve network listener resources... and you want to create listeners on port 1521 "then click OK again. At this point, you should now see a screen that says something like "using the ASM disks groups page, you can view and manage existing groups... etc, then click on"Create New"in the lower left corner." At this point you should now be presented with a screen to enter a disk group, enter its name, click the external radio button, click the option button to show the candidates. In my case for my group of asm Archives, I chose ARCH, external redundancy, candidates show and click on the box to the left empty the/raw/asm/arch.
Repeat the same steps for your other starts from the DSO.

Then you can move to the creation of the database where you will be prompted to use ASM groups you just created. Remember that this is asm so a disk group name has a plus '+' in front of it. If you are having problems just choose a disk group later edit your database once it is up and running.

    How it works for you?

  • Consolidation of DB - Cost Cutting

    Dear members,
I'm new to this forum. We have several servers classified as development, Test and Production in which several databases are executed in each of them. Can anyone suggest me how to proceed with the consolidation of oracle database in the server group. I have an idea little lit up like
patterns in several databases can be grouped into a single oracle database.

But how calculate efficiency as, a particular database have not been used for the last 2 months... etc so that it can be used as a factor of consolidation.

If I'm not mistaken, the size of each scheme can be determined in dba_segments selection owner and sum column (bytes).

Please let me know what might be other issues to look out here in the consolidation.

    Kind regards
    Mani
    TCS

First of all, you must understand what databases are candidates for consolidation. For example
-Your databases do support packaged applications with specific requirements for the version parameters and/or database initialization? If so, these databases must usually be retained separately.
-L' one of your databases have other reasons to run a different Oracle that everyone else version (additional construction or different and cycles, different points on the life cycle, etc.)?
-Your data have the same availability requirements? If not, it can get very difficult (and therefore expensive) to coordinate downtime if you consolidate the databases that have needs different downtime.
-What's your approach to the consolidation of the support of the permissions? If you regularly give users (particularly in environments below) powerful privileges (i.e. SELECT ANY TABLE) knowing that the data in this particular database is a relatively low risk, consolidate with a database that contains payroll information is probably a bad idea.
-Your applications use public synonyms? If so, these synonyms would be in line with consolidation?

Second, what is the efficiency as you try to win? If a particular database has not been used in 2 months, why is - it? Assuming it will be reused, really saving you much if you consolidate with another database on the same server? You can decrease the RAM required on the server, but it is often the least expensive component to add. If you can consolidate enough bases to start to get rid of servers, which can begin to be a reduction of costs (especially where you have CPU based licenses).

Assuming that you have a level of oversight in place, either at the level of the OS or Oracle via statspack / AWR, you can usually get an idea of the average and which are placed on a system to see what you can gain by consolidating the peak loads. But you need determine how correlated is the use of various databases - if takes the data base to 100% of the CPU and database B takes 100% of CPU, you might be well consolidate if one runs almost exclusively during the night and B works almost exclusively during the day. On the other hand, if you have databases with vertices coincide (i.e. the activity in a single system implies that it is likely to be activity in another), you can get very little consolidation and can end up creating new bottlenecks if everyone is fighting on the CPU during a peak. And you will need to know how much you should allocate slack (for example, some applications may spec on the server of database planning for a few years worth of growth - you will need to have access to these projections to determine whether the database that only takes 10% of the CPU will double or triple in size in the next few years).

  • Reader of CD-R/DVD-ROM (IDE) of K LITE-ON COMBO SOHC 4836 opens not (mechanical)

I can't use the original CD-R/DVD-ROM drive, because he that is no longer open tray drawer. It's a mechanical problem, I've tried several times unsuccessfully to fixation. It's my only optical drive, and I can't find an IDE drive to replace, because everything I've found so far is SATA not IDE ATA.

My computer recognizes the drive, but this isn't a software problem, so it can't be fixed with troubleshooting app.

I went to NewEgg and an engraver of CD/DVD ASUS DRW-241st/BLK/DOWN black SATA 24 X bought last week. It happened a few days ago, and I tried to install it, but he found the new driver has no receiver necessary required power (a cable IDE socket receiver) plug at the rear of the unit. I had to request a RMA from NewEgg number for refund.

What should I do? I need a CD/DVD drive of work!

My PC is a 2006 Compaq Presario desktop SR 1930 t CTO, with Windows XP (home edition) operating system.

Last year I replaced the original with a 480W 300W PSU (has supposedly 'support SATA', but I don't know what that means). I know there is only a single receiver plug on the ASUS drive, and several card receivers on my drive LITE-ON.

    Help, please!

My bad.  I didn't notice that I've linked drive was just a ROM.

This small converter looks interesting.  I had not seen this before.  It should work OK if you have peripheral space being tacked on to the back of the drive.  Well done.

  • cable IDE 39 vs 40 for Lite-on

Maybe a strange question, but I want to buy a Lite-on for my Dimension 8400 DVD burner.  I called Lite-on and they said most of their units accept a 40 pins and I guess the 2084H (recommended by Lite-on for my Dell) must ask the same cable.

The problem is that the cable into my PC accepts only 39 pins.  Y at - it an adapter or cable, which is compatible with my computer?

  • D530 sff - freezes jacquard blocked screen - ideas?

    Hello

My d530 sff freezes sometimes strange blocked screen - like psychedelic colored chessboard square on a blue background with a pattern. The squares shimmer a bit (which implies some treatment?), but it's totally unrersponsive.  The fault appears randomly and does not seem related to how long the machine has been run, nor his current mission (AFAIK). I can't cause the fault.

It works under xp pro. I reinstalled xp on a different HARD drive and get the same, making me think it is not software/driver.  I've updated the BIOS, run memtest 86 + and premium 95 for hours and tests of material Inquisator and Ultimate Boot CD. They are all very well, making me think of the basic material is OK.  I considered the embedded video, but I can play movies on a network that is pretty intense...  With the lid, nothing in the area becomes too hot to the touch, although some chips and the plugs should be near 60 degrees celcius.  Radiator CPU fine to the touch.

It would be easy to give up and say it's a weird mother board failure, but before I do any ideas?  The software matches the machine has more value than the box so I would rather not throw.

    Thanks for your ideas, Mike

I extracted the zip file to install the Intel 14.16 package and installed manually from the Device Manager. Package Intel 14.17 absolutely did not work on every box of d530. This is the root of the problem which I faced instability.

You can identify the controller by checking the properties of devices in the Devices.Look system for x or exclamation next to the drivers points, or if you see instances of "unknown device".

SisoftSandra Lite will also identify the devices installed in the hardware section.

As far as bad capacitors going that visually close should be enough. Search for leakages, bulging, distortion, a brown substance on or near the caps.

So... in your systray, you see an icon of Intel graphics? That's what you should see if the graphic driver went well.

  • Qosmio F50 - 10K - multimedia keys are not lit

    According to my topic

    "" Qosmio F50 - 10K - replaced by Qosmio F60-126? ".
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=59934&TSTART=0

I had problems with my laptop, located at the Nvidia 9600 M GT graphics according to Toshiba service. They changed the graphics card with a new one today and so far everything is going very well and smooth. He collapsed again. Time will tell whether or not it returns to his old ways.

In any case, after I took up my F50 - 10K I noticed that the indicators for media buttons (Play / Pause, Stop, Dolby, etc) are not lit. The buttons work fine, but they are not on. All other indicators (the light bar on the touchpad, the volume light) and the power light work fine. There is a button to deactivate/activate the indicators, but it does not work for media indicators.

Before giving my laptop to the service of all the indicators were at work. Now, the indicators of media came out. No idea how to re-enable?

    Hi Jwrath,

I doubt s a hardware problem because they do not work properly and the lit / functions are controlled by added value package. In your case, I recommend reinstall Toshiba Value added Package from the official website of Toshiba:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

Remove the VAP, restart the computer and install the new VAP software.

In addition, check the BIOS. I don't know if there is an option for Mr. lighting if so, enable it and that s.

  • 250GB USB drive created I don't want cdrom drive

Just installed a new hard drive of 250 GB USB. At startup it keeps creating this drive with some programs on it. I partitioned the drive, but the specific CD-ROM drive keeps coming back. As it is the first device to be seen from the usb drive, it allows me to connect the usb drive as a file server drive to my installed internet router that has a USB for purposes of files on it. This port does not recognize my drive, because of the cdrom drive presumingly generated. So I want to get rid of this cdrom, I don't use the one-touch backup features or protection of password for the drive anyway.

Any ideas how to do this? Is a small partition on the Flash DRIVE or what?

    Hello

I've never seen any USB HDD external who could create CD rom readers.
Have you tried to format the first external HARD drive?
I put t know exactly why it happens, but you suggested he keeps creating the CD rom drive with some programs on it at startup. Perhaps the preinstalled programs are the reason to create Cd rom.
Try to remove these programs from the disk HARD (should first create a backup)

  • Portege 2000, cannot install windows, ide errors

    Any help much appreciated...

former owner deleted the 20 GB hard drive. Have the Toshiba pcmcia reader. Flashed the latest bios. It will boot xp or 2000 cd without problem, however the two OSs stop initially with bsod (2000 gives inacessible_boot peripheral).

Tried with ME, but the cdrom driver is not the right one (does not load the cdrom drive). In a situation like this, normally, I remove the drive and install (with hard drive adapter) on a pc to format and copy the OS files and then reinstall the drive and start the installation from the hard drive but it has a 1.8 drive "and I have no adapter.

    Help!

    Mick

    Hey Tyson,

Sorry, but I'm a little confused about your explanation. If I understand you right, you bought used protégé 200 with Toshiba external CD-ROM device (PCMCIA) and you try to reinstall?

    I understand you correctly?

As much as I know in original Toshiba Recovery CD there is driver for external "TOSHIBA CD-ROM" (PCMCIA/CARDBUS) and it will be loaded at the beginning of the recovery procedure. If it works with no Toshiba devices is unknown to me. If you want to reinstall the OS without the original CD from Toshiba, you must start the laptop using the startup disk with the right driver for external device.

As you said that the best solution is to start the installation of the HARD disk. You need a Google around and I'm sure you can find one for you. Please visit this site
http://www.Addonics.com/products/Saturn/aesed.ASP. He is described as the optional kit 2.5 "converter can be used for the 2.5" or 1.8 "IDE HDD.

  • Satellite A105-S361 wouldn't boot CDrom or PXE Linux

    Hello

I just bought a toshiba satellite A105-S361, I deleted all partitions & installed Linux operating system. After a few days, I find that, although everything works perfectly, I can't boot from the CDrom or network (PXE). No matter how I change the settings in the BIOS, it is just try to boot from the CD or network, it goes straight to the startup hard disk!

I was wondering if the hidden partition that toshiba use for its "express media player", has nothing to do with helping start the laptop cdrom/lan as well!

Otherwise, no idea why I can't boot from them?
I'm really worried how to fix my laptop, should I have to re - install any OS!

    Hello

First of all, you have installed Linux on the unit and Toshiba doesn't support this OS.
Toshiba delivered and designed only with a Microsoft Windows operating system.
I don't know if your question has anything to do with LINUX on your laptop but if the function m worked with the Windows operating system, so it must be a Linux question.
