import a photo to another library

Hello

I have been using a library of Photos on OneDrive for quite awhile. This synchronizes moderately fortunately throughout my three Macs using OneDrive. I don't bother not associable with my iPhone or iPad.

However, it seems that Photos are so household with which OneDrive struggles to cope and it affects the reliability of my clocks. Upload a photo on photo seems to create a 60 MB or superior sync, which seems quite useless to me.

So I buy an iCloud 50 GB plan to keep pictures of interfering on the OneDrive.

Question: there is a lot of nonsense inherited in Library.photoslibrary Photos, I wondered: what would be the best way to migrate OneDrive library to the pictures folder? I don't want to lose face or other metadata names during migration.

Two of my three Macs run Sierra; the third is running El Capitan. I intend to upgrade when I know that all is well.

If it's simply by dragging the folder across I have this, but I would use it as an opportunity to make some storage so that funny things are not arrived later.

Thank you!

Mark

I'm not familiar with a single disk, but

1 - photo library must be on a local volume formatted as Mac OS extended (journaled) via a fast wired connection

2 - as far as I have seen that no one has successfully used in a netword ev = nviorment

3 - Apple expressly provides (and this has been proven but tries to do) that the photo library can not be any synchronization service

So what you describe seems very dangerous, and you will not quite a solid library

in any case how to move a photo library is make her intact as a single entity to the destination which must be a volume format Mac OS extended (journaled) locally connected via a fast wired connection and not used as a backup volume Time Machine - you then double-click it to open it and set it as the location by default - set as the system library and then you can activate services desired iCloud

There is no serviceable parts by the user in the photo library and you should never go inside, and you cannot make any changes using the finder or other software

  • Import from Photo Library Organizer

I can't understand how to make the elements Organizer to import a photo in the library on the Mac.  It has an icon to download from iPhoto but iPhoto is no longer used on OX El capita and this library was merged into the picture.

I have El Capitan on an iMac and the PSE 13. I find by default when you insert an SD card in your camera to a Mac, a 'Photos' window opens and asks if you want to download your photos on Photos. Simply, I clicked on the red dot to close the screen. I then had an SD card icon on my desktop. I opened the SD card icon, highlighted in the photos I wanted and dragged into my own images to the folder on my desktop (the folder resides in the Finder). From there, you can import in PSE as you want using the import PSE icon on the upper left of the Organizer window or you can open photos selectively in the editor and organizer too.

  • Delete all the photos in a library

In Adobe Revel, I have a library and have created an album. I've added the pictures selected in the album of the library; I'm now done editing the album and shared. If I delete all the photos in my album library will remain unchanged?

If you delete the photos in the photo library, then they go away from all the photos and all devices. You can remove photos from the album and they will remain in the library.

The library is the main location where the files you download are stored. All the photos in an album are actually stored in the library. When you 'Add' to an album, you are simply want to show under that name of album, but are not duplicate the file in an additional location. You can 'Add' photos to multiple albums, but there is actually only one copy in a library. If you download the photo in another library, then this is a second copy of the photo.

  • If I exported my photos when I import them into another library of Photos, will they still be live photos?

I plan to export my entire library of Photos on a hard drive, that I will then use import my library to another library of Photos on another computer (with the latest updates). When I export my photos (choosing File > export > export Photos X...), they will still be "live pictures" that is when I import them will be powered?

For sure if you simply move a copy of the entire library to the new system, you will have all - export and import loses a lot of information and can lose quality if you're wrong - interconnect systems and drag the library photos of the current system to the new system images folder - or use an external hard drive to the Mac OS extended (journaled) format to move in all

  • Photo of transfer of files from one library to another library

How can I transfer files from photo from one library to another library?

    Thank you for your response.

You can transfer photos, but lose the history, etc. by exporting an import in another - the only way to really move photos between libraries keep everything is to use the paid version of PowerPhotos which has many other features and is a utility that is recommended to have with Photos

Attempt to open the library then got the same error message. The library is too big to put in my available cloud storage.  How can I do this?

Put the library on an external drive, where you can set the indicator "Ignore ownership on this volume" for the reader.

Use a disk with the file system 'Mac OS (journaled)' extended.  Open the Panel "file > read the information" for this drive.

In the section "Permissions & sharing" Panel Info unlock the padlock and turn the meter of the property to ignore.

  • Cannot import videos in the Lightroom library.

I have a problem to import video files (.) (MOV), coming from the iPhone in video.

When I press "import...". "and choose my files (video only 10 sec, 28MB in size), the window of exploitation would freeze for a while, then video preview could not build.

However, I always press low import, the photo still can import with success, but video cannot, and the task bar would freeze FOREVER.

(The photo then the video also could not import too.)

The Lightroom had been updated to the latest version (5.6), OS is Mac OS X Yosemite.

I searched the previews, included discussions

Lightroom restarts, restart the computer, delete and rebulid preference "com.adobe.Lightroom5.plist" files

    Remove and reinstall Lightroom

    Delete and re-create the catalog

Remove the video covers (by lightroom preference, file manipulation, clear Cache.)

Then, I found that I do not have the video cache files in my user library

    Users / [username] / Library/Caches/Adobe /.

Do not display the Lightroom folder from other computers of Lightroom installed. (Another mac also use OS X Yosemite and import fine.)

I press down right, check that I have "Read & Write" permissions the Adobe folder.

The question is: How can I tell Lightroom to generate the video cache files?

Or are there other reasons the problem of import?

Please help me, thank you very much.

Finally, to solve the problem by myself.

    a. force quit Lightroom 5

    b. remove the file and the folder below:

    1 /User/[username]/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.Lightroom5.plist

    2 /users/ [username] / Library/Preferences/Adobe

    c. re-open the 5 Lightroom

    Now, everything's fine.

The video preview generate well and quickly import.

  • I imported my photos from an external hard drive in Lightroom, edited my photos but then...? !

    Adobe,

I imported my photos from an external hard drive in Lightroom, edited my photos and when I decided to export the originals had not been updated and deleted photos were not deleted. How I set up so that once I have import photos, edit and export they are then placed in their original case reviewed and updated?

I managed to export photos to another file, but they were exported with an Adobe.xmp file. What is it and is it necessary?

    Thanks for your help!

OK then so when you export edited LR images to tell the Office I do not need to use xmp files unless I want then to re - edit still say in Photoshop or another app?

You don't need the files xmp during the passage of LR to Photoshop. Right click on the image or in the develop module, click Photo > edit in... According to what you have set in the preferences of the image then opens like FFT, JPEG or PSD - 8 bit / 16 bit - and the new TIFF file for example automatically will return to sitting next to the original RAW LR library. If you are exporting a RAW file edited to the desktop to JPG/TIFF then changes will be permanently stamped in the EXIF of the created files.

Basically import my Raw files on the drive from Carmera card, then in LR. Edit in LR, finishing and export again say in the office. Keep or throw originals that I please...

Yes, but why would you throw your originals? You can later return to the original and the re - change all over again new experiences learned etc..

Can I see the modified pictures made in Photoshop in LR later?

Yes, see first paragraph above. If you already have a file in LR, take it in Photoshop as a JPG/TIFF/PSD, it will be automatically reduced in LR. If you modify a file outside the LR and that is not already in the LR library, say by locating the RAW file in Explorer and then open it directly in ACR/Photoshop, then LR will have no idea what you did except in LR, you choose to import the image later. Remember though, this is one of the examples where you will need to configure save metadata in xmp (at bridge) so that when you import the edited outside the file RAW LR, LR will read the xmp file changes and save it in its own database.

  • Photos and iPhoto Library - transfer both?

Hello. I'm trying to transfer my library of Photos on an external hard drive to free up space on my Mac. I noticed there is a huge iPhoto library in both images and don't know what to do with it.

I'm running OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 and was completely out of memory. I already reformatted a WD My Book, 3 t in the correct format and am currently uploading Photos.  My question is, I need to transfer the iPhoto library as well to keep the Photos work properly? I have read conflicting information. It seems that they may share data and deletion of iPhoto could damage the library?  iPhoto is GB 336, Photos is 447 GB.  I have space for both but prefer delete the iPhoto library rather than transfer if that's for sure. He said also, photo transfer will take 4 days and I do not want to make twice as much...

Separately, I also have a small external hard drive, I moved a partitioned iPhoto library to several years ago. I used iphoto Library Manager software. I have pre 2010 photos out there and no where else other than a backup hard drive. Remove the iPhoto library on my computer effect my ability to use the one partitioned? I would like to merge all to a library of Photos now that I have the space.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

    Yes and no

There is no connection between the photo library and the iPhoto library - you can move or delete without effect on the other - don't know where your found contradictory information but there is no link between them

However, if you move one and keep the other won't save you any space - you must move both to save space on your Mac - if you are sure you are finished with the library of th eiPHoto, then you can simple delete it, but it is advisable to keep a copy of archive of it to the case where

And don't forget that the EHD must meet these requirements-must be in Mac OS extended (journaled) connected via a wired connection format fast as ThuderBolf, FireWire or USB, not used as a backup volume Time Machine and always available before pictures being launched

And the copy of the library (if you have the good fast wired connection) will not take 4 days - the finder is an estimator of bad weather

As for the separate iPhoto library again once there is no link between multiple iPhoto libraries - and there is no way to merge them after their migration into Photos (you can merge the iPhotoLibrary Manager iPhoto or Aperture libraries and you can add pictures to a photo library to another) you can migrate the second iPHoto library by dragging it to the Photos in the Dock icon - PowerPhotoscan merge the masters previews in another library and PowerPhotos can be continued to display the two libraries

  • My camera has reached 9999 photos and started renumbering 0001 but in a different folder.  If I import new photos in iPhoto, the older photos with the same numbers are overwritten?

My camera is renumbering pictures from 0001, but a new camera case.  If I import new photos in iPhoto, they replace the old photos with the same numbers?  The camera knows that they are in a different folder, but what happens when I import into iPhoto?

iPHoto manages very well duplicate file names - each import is in another folder in the database - no problem

  • Photos will not import iPhone photos

I'm trying to import pictures from my iPhone 5 s on my MacBook. However Photos will only recognize new pictures although I have hundreds that have not been imported on Photos or iPhoto. Image capture will not also recognize other photos on my phone. I have no idea how use AirDrop and am completely at a loss on how to get my pictures on my computer and my phone.

It's a big question, Alicia. I lost of valuable photos, myself and always want to make sure that they are safe now.

I'm sure you've seen these instructions before, but it also contains information on how you can share photos on all your devices using iCloud photo library. Import photos and videos from your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch

If these are pictures that you already imported, with your iPhone connected to your MacBook Pro and the Photos app opened, under the "Import all new Photos" button on the top right, you should see a toggle button for "show all". When you click on that, it will display all photos that are found on your iPhone. You just choose the ones you want to import and then click the "Import # Selected" button where the ' # ' shows how many photos you have chosen to import.

AirDrop is also a great way to transfer photos from your iPhone to your Mac. How to use AirDrop with your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch

Let me know if this is helped. Thank you!

  • Why do I need to import existing photos?

All my devices are in the same Apple ID, sync all of them via iCloud photo library.

Backups are via iTunes to OS X.

Recently, I made the order and again sorted my photos of OS X.

    I 4920 pictures altogether.

Now I see on the Photos of OSX I need to import new photos that are already in my iPhone.

Why do I need to import existing photos? Why say that are just 4129 photos?

    Pls see photo...

    Thank you!

Now I see on the Photos of OSX I need to import new photos that are already in my iPhone.

Why do I need to import existing photos?

If you use iCloud photo library to keep your photo library in sync, do not import the photos again in the iPhone using a USB connection.

I suspect, you have set the settings > Photos & camera on your iPhone for iCloud photo library to 'optimize storage '.

This means that your original photos, full resolution are in iCloud and not on your iPhone at all.  Only if you browse your photos or change them to share, your iPhone will download new copies of the originals to iCloud for editing. Photos on your Mac does not recognize them as duplicates, because this local copies have different file names. You could import duplicates.

Skip the Import Panel in Photos when your iPhone is connected. Don't import anything, unless you have some new photos on the iPhone, that could still download in iCloud photo Library, because the iPhone couldn't go online.

  • my laptop will not import my photos and my itunes doesn't sync new music

I'm not sure that the question is my Iphone 5 or the laptop. When I plug my phone both the laptop and the phone between them pick up and my phone syncs automatically, however, my phone always wonder if I want to import new photos and then once I clicked on Yes, it says that no pictures are available. Also when you try to import pictures on an app on the phone, he could not pick up one of my recent photos.

As well as what I downloaded some new music on my itunes on my laptop, however, given that I brought music apple songs downloaded on my itunes on my laptop will not sync and I don't know why. The phone syncs and always put my new music on the phone when it syncs, but it's their import is no longer automatically.

Thanks for any help in advance.

You can copy photos manually from the film. It might sound like a somewhat random Folders collection.

With Apple active any music that you add to your library becomes automatically available for you to download or listen to on your device. Music sync via USB, however.
