Import of EA4500 parameters in an EA6500 router

I had to spend my EA4500 to an EA6500 like the EA4500 kept losing connectivity wireless modem as well as sometimes stopped working wireless.  Instead of exchanging with other EA4500 I opted for the upgrade to an EA6500 and I was wondering if I can just export the EA4500 settings and import them into the EA6500 or are not compatible?

If they will import, should I make changes?  The reason why I ask is we have (2) units of xBox and had problems to work until I went in the section sets the router and opening some ports.  I also had to make a few additional changes (but I don't really know where and what has been changed).  I spent nearly an hour on the phone with a representative of these changes.

Please notify.

Thank you

Troy

This may or may not work. However, if this fall may not work then it could brick your router.

  • EA6500 router password stop working when on the Internet

My question is quite simple but really difficult to understand on a logical point of view.

I have a new EA6500 (v1), I hung on the network and set it up using the router password by default is 'admin '. I have configured the PPPOE connection to my internet and then, as soon as it is connected to the internet, I am not able to connect to 192.168.1.1 more because it says that my router password is not valid. If I just disconnect the WAN cable and refresh it, the router password works now.

I tried to change it and it continues to operate only if the router is not connected to the internet. When it is connected to the internet, I click on the "local access" mode, but get the same error "router invalid password." If I log in using my account Smart Wi - Fi, I get the error "error_gets_network" which disappears after about 1 sec and then it is up to the login page, or sometimes, it will simply ask the router password which will not work in any case.

I have the latest firmware, but I reinstalled it always manually without success. I tried a few resets hard too but the problem is still there and it's really annoying because I can't go to the router configuration without cable router WAN. And I can't link my smart Wifi account since obviously the router password is not recognized and more if I'm on the internet.

    Any ideas?

I tried with the latest version of Google Chrome (cleared cache and everything, and since it does not work when the router is not connected to the internet, I don't think it's a browser problem). Interface does not work with the latest version of IE (even in compatibility mode, maintaining the interface tells me to download the latest version of Internet Explorer, it's really ironic).

Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, test value and mode of compatibility again.
Disable any security browser addons such as No Script and Ad-Block or set them to allow all Pages when it is connected to the router.
    Clear all caches browser.
Don't forget to log on to the Admin account on the router.
Try disabling these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, few bars options > settings > settings (left) > see the advanced settings.
    Uncheck the box for these:
Use a web service to help solve the navigational errors
Use a service forecast for complete searches and URLS typed in the address bar
Predict the actions of the network to improve the performance of page loading
Activate the protection from phishing and malware

  • Connection EA4500 to replace the faulty router

I just buy the EA4500 but currently connected an old Linksys router which is cutting regularly.

Until I connect the new router I'm afraid that it won't work with other PC and an iPhone if I don't use the same password as before. This is not serious and the reset the password or a new makes my concern moot.

It must be nice to use the same network name and the password for the new router. Your devices must then connect automatically as you use the same name and password for your network. If they will find it difficult to connect to the new router, you can forget on your wireless network, and then try to connect again.

  • EA6500 router blocks every Saturday during the night

Systematically, the router hangs every Saturday night. Is it possible to auto update 'feature '?

When I wake up on Sunday, I have to power cycle to regain connectivity.

Yes, this flash version of the DD - WRT first, then you can upgrade to the latest version which is the second link I provided.

There is no welding nor concerned piracy... you do the flashing via the update of the firmware.

I've been using DD - WRT on my router EA6500v1 for months and never had a problem.

This is the shitty linksys firmware that you keep problems with.

  • "Bad Gateway" EA4500 try to access the router after installation the software upgrade

Hello, I have recently updated my installation software to Version 2.0.14212.1.  I realized that I had to upgrade the installation software before upgrading the Firmware to version 2.1.41 (Build 164606).  However, since the upgrade of the installation software, I could not connect to the router on any browser (Firefox and Chrome).  Instead, I get the error message "-502 Bad Gateway.

To add to what chadster766 suggested, after pressing the reset button for 30 seconds, try to turn off the router to give him time to rest. After a while, it turns on and plug a PC for it. Try to access the configuration again to 192.168.1.1 page.

    Hope that helps.

  • EA6500 BECOMES SLOW INTERNET

After you have installed the EA6500 router, my internet has become slow. I have connected my PC to the router by ethernet cable and I disconnected all of the Wi - Fi device and measured 8, 75 MB. So I connected the modem cable directly on the PC (no router) and measured 17, 8 MB. Why the EA6500 goes down fast? Could someone help me? Note: my firmware is 1.1.28.146856.

It's more than likely the solution. Download and upload in media prioritization parameters settings limit the speed of networks together values they are willing to, then in the case of several devices try to access the internet, priority devices have priority over other devices.

To work around the limitation of speed, you can set two values '0' to indicate the router to not limit the maximum download & upload, or find your maximum speed of connections and input the correct values. I say you understand because that due to various circumstances, that your internet connection is perhaps not able to realize what your internet plan, or it may exceed what it is supposed to be like mine don't. You can of course just go with what it is supposed to be so, nothing wrong with that.

Edit: If I remember correctly, the reason that this, he must keep the coherent connection and, with the known maximum rates, the router can better determine exactly how to limit devices non-priority when there is to do.

  • Can I import this module settings to automatically create variables?

    Hi all

I try to reuse a Labview VI within TestStand as a module of code.  There are a lot of input and output parameters, and I need to create a separate variable for most of them (probably globals file) so that I can change values dynamically during test sequences.  I see in the code module loading, associated parameters are automatically imported into the parameters of the step, but I would like to know if there is a way to automatically create variables to "convert" the parameters of the code module.  I read a few threads on the creation of dynamic variable and property magazine steps, but these do not seem to have what I'm looking for.  Please notify.  And, as usual, if it looks like I'm wrong understand how TestStand, please correct me.  I am only a few weeks to use it.  Thank you very much.

    GSinMN

The answer is no, you can't.

You can ask TestStand create types of complex data for you.  There is a small button next to the parameter and it will create the type definition.  However, you should always create all instances and then move those to and from the VI.

By default, TestStand will link the error message on the wire with the Step.Result.Error.  The rest are pretty much up to you.

I guess the question/s would be: How does he know where to create the instances?  FileGlobals? People of the country? Settings? Globals station?  Step properties?  Constant value?  There are a ton of places that seem to be the options in question.  This can be a good feature request...

  • connect the dsi to wireless router

I can't connect dsi to wireless router, getting the gray padlock that tells me to take the WEP security, I don't know how to do, or what it means in fact!
    Thanks for your time

    Hi Juliehoskin,

Welcome to Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

This error message is usually caused by problems with WEP key.

Change the wireless security settings is normally done within the parameters of security wireless router page. For more information on how to access this part of your router, you can get your information from router on the internet using your favorite search engine or consult the router's manual or contact the manufacturer of the router for more help.

  • Removal of a dead Smart Wi - Fi router

    Hello!

    I need help...

I just replaced my Cisco EA6500 router, because he finally died, I replaced it with an EA8500, I kept the same name of the previous router wireless network, but today, WiFi Smart shows two networks with the same name - a online and offline...

How can I remove a router 'offline' and dead Smart WiFi?

    Thank you!

Hi keirebuniiru. I understand that you have associated the two routers on the same Linksys WiFi Smart account, and since the EA6500 is no longer active, it shows offline. Well, let me help you with this. Please send your full contact details (name, first name, telephone number and e-mail address) to [email protected] and please include the link to this post.

  • EA6500 Down/Up really poor, speeds wireless.

I just got my EA6500 router before the holidays and set up before going on holiday, I can't be sure wireless never worked at full speed, due to the lack of trials. As it is now my office (connected to router) gets d/u speed up about 16 to 20 Mbit/s down and 1 to 2 Mbit/s, that's pretty standard in my old router and to the beach for what I pay the MRC in Massachusetts for. When I connect my wife's Mac and my laptop for the wireless that go down in the range of 1 to 2 Mbps and 2 Mbps up 1, what gives? Is there something more, what should I do to configure the system? I have troubleshooted my laptop first and stopped after I checked what happens on other devices. Signal seems to be strong to just router bandwidth speeds are in the box. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.

    -Chris

That's the thing, to 2.4 ghz defined a 20 mhz only on channel 9 times 802.11n devices: mac and pc lappy reaches speeds similar to cable speeds. I will consider this question from a support point of view. Thank you.

  • EA6500, four Xbox 360, four WUMC710, firmware updated to 1.1.28.147876, now broken.

I have not found this question in the forum, and I really hope that someone can help you.

    Basic wireless - EA6500 router.

Four Xbox 360, all connected by its own WUMC710.

Media servers (Serviio, UPNP/DLNA) on Windows 7 and Windows Server Essentials 2012.

I've been running the same config for about a year without problem - everything worked fine.  Then I got a notification of the last week of December on the router that a new firmware is available, 1.1.28.147876, which oddly enough seems to have been available for months?

So I downloaded the firmware, and at the same time, I've updated all four WUMC710 firmware 1.0 to 1.0.01.  All devices were then able to roll.

Now, when I turn on any of the Xbox 360, it is not to connect to XBox Live, or if it does it still does not see the PC on the network. If I wait a minute or more, they * may * begin to appear in the list and I can connect to one of them.  In the contrary case, it requires a series of restarts WUMC710 or Xbox, or by using the 'Test Network Configuration"to make it work.  It's very frustrating!  The PC just used appear instantly and everything worked, even on all four Xbox at the same time.

In the same vein, I used to be able to "Test Network Configuration" very well, but now, while he always ends successfully, it always up to the top of this warning message on strict or moderate NAT.  I don't care NAT I'm no game, just streaming media, but this message never used to pop up.

I've assigned each Xbox and WUMC710 a different static IP in the DHCP pool, and I used reservations DHCP on the EA6500 for a long time to keep the problem of "multiple devices under a single IP address" does not happen.

NAT is on and UPNP is enabled.  There is no port forwarding or trigger because I don't have to go to Xbox Live, just the PCs within the home.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear from them and I thank very you much in advance for your comments.

Is not good, you will need to restore your firmware if possible.

  • EA6500-double WUMC710-WRT310N as Access Point

After getting a Smart TV for my basement last year, I was unable to get a proper my WRT310N wireless signal.  I had the WRT310N on the second floor with my desktop PC.  Wifi should reach the basement, but not good enough to stream hi-def movies.  To remedy this, I bought a router of EA6500 and the WUMC710 bridge to replace the WRT310N.  I put the EA6500 on the ground floor, the bridge in the basement and I was using Powerline to access my PC upstairs.  I become disillusioned by the stability of the signal by current bearer of the PC upstairs, so I bought another WUMC710 to my floor.  This configuration is therefore works very well, EA6500 ground floor with of two WUMC710, one upstairs and one in the basement.  The only problem I have left is a wifi dead spot in the master bedroom.  I not was too concerned about the place of the dead since we do not use wifi in the bedroom very often, but I recently heard that it is possible to use my old router, the WRT10N, as an access point to extend my range of wifi.  I followed some instructions of the internet to get the WRT310N set up as access point (disable DHCP, configure phrase password and security, the same as on the EA6500 router).  I then used the power lines through a signal ethernet of the EA6500, the son of AC, in the House of the masters of whetre the other carrier current module online is now connected.  I then connected the WRT310N to this Powerline online and the WiFi in the room was now nice and sharp.  Note that this WRT310N is out now wifi in the main room, while in the corridor on the other side of the second story sits the WUMC710 bridge, which is connected to the EA6500 via wifi. At some point during the day wifi stop working throughout the House.  My suspicion is that the WUMC710 passed the EA6500 wifi signal and picked up the WRT310N wifi.  The only way I could get wifi back working again was to unplug the WRT310N access point.  Is there a way to put bridges (WUMC710) so that they will only connect to the EA6500 and NOT the WRT310N?

Hello. Given that both routers are set up with the same wireless name and password, your WUMC710 will connect to one of them. If you wish, you can configure - your WRT310N with other wireless name and password so that your bridge will connect with EA6500. This should help.

  • Not shown EA6500 MP3 DLNA media server

    Hello!

I recently bought Linksys EA6500 router and attached a USB key with some media (4000 + MP3 files, 7000 + pictures and 1000 + videos). Everything works fine, even from Nexus 4 the wireless, but none of the MP3 files are appearing! Is there some known limitations in Server Twonky (which this device uses apparently) regarding the file naming, structure of subdirectory, whatever it is? I tried a new analysis of training, although has not tried to rebuild the database...

    Any ideas?

    Hello

Yes. There is a known limit with Twonky Media Server that is integrated with your router: "maxfiles-8000" - the license with Twonky limit the number of files to analyze 8000. This issue had been raised before and an acceptable reason is 'amount of cpu and ram needed to deal with the db in memory' - of course, these routers have way much weaker hardware specification, even compared to a smartphone running on Android OS 2.3.6.

Here is the thread that has been raised before:

  • How to connect EA6500 to the phone line, but with no modem

    Hi all

I just bought an ea6500 to replace my old router billion and up to now all I had to do is plug my phone line directly into the port ' phone line in "on the back of the router billion.

But according to me, there is no "phone line in" port on the ea6500, I don't use a modem and have used the router billion in itself for the past 6 years, is it possible to connect my telephone line directly on the ea6500 somehow, ideas appreciated?

My research indicates so far you can do via a ' Ethernet / phone line adapter "because they are incompatible, in any case.

Installation guide appears if wait to a Modem is being used, but in my case it was not and I think that a router must perform the basic functions of a modem anyway?

What concerns me is that if I really need to buy a modem, then this is potentially 'Butterfly' the features of the ea6500 which is the reason why I bought it in the first place?

If I need to buy a modem to get my work ea6500 so what specifications should I look for?

confused the new customer... Thank you

I just checked the online billion router and discovered that it is actually an ADSL router, so it has an ADSL port at the back that the EA6500 do not have. I suggest that you ask your Internet provider if they provide or provide you with a DSL modem, you can install the EA6500 router properly. In addition, the EA6500 is a simple band and dual gigabit router that works behind a modem cable or DSL internet connection.

  • I have to reset my router to get the new speed

I have a Linksys EA6500 router.  My internet provider has recently increased their internet speeds without expenses.  I had a plan with a download speed up to 15mbps.  Now it should be 30.  I did a speed test and still get only 15.  I called my provider and they forced me to direct connect my modem to my computer and then I got 30.  She told me that I might have to reset my router to synchronize it with the faster speeds more recent.  I tried to unplug and repluging and that did not help.  Is there another way to get the router to recognize the new speed without going through the hassle of a hard reset?

try to go to the prioritization of media and then click on settings (blue link) and then see what speed is set on it. It should be 1024 x 30 or possibly 0. Set and save it. usually a reset as you could clear up tho. worst case you may need to do a factory reset and the config from scratch. But first try the number
