Import of Illustrator in InDesign files

I have a question that is more an annoyance than a problem. I put announcements of meetings in Illustrator and then place them in my InDesign template. Instead of 4.75 "x 5,375" advertising placement in a space of 4.75 "x 5,375", I get the announcement and the edge of the blue frame surrounding the announcement. The problem is when I want to precisely place the ad using InDesign. If I want the border of the advertising to be placed right at 0 and 0, I can't do that InDesign puts in place the edge of the image to 0-9 and the border of the ad can be. 1 "or. 2 "inside the edge of the image. I can hide on the image, but this does not solve the problem. Is there a way to make the edge image exactly the same as my ad borders? I made that there are no stray marks in Illustrator files before placing them in InDesign.

Display Options, when implemented, the Crop Bounding box value or cut according to the announcement

  • Print and import of Illustrator into Indesign Questions

    Hello

I am currently doing a project for College and I am fairly new to Indesign and Illustrator...

My Question is if I create a logo or a work of art in illustrator how to import it in inDesign, for the moment that I'm just place the .ai file in my project of indesign, but I noticed that it tends to lose the look of vector. Number one am I imported the file correctly, and number two, I make a brochure standard, if I want to activate this go to print I do save as pdf and then print?

This leads to my final question,

I have an A4 of the project in illustrator and stuck in a configuration of A3 in illustrator so I can use the space on the project of A3 to explain what I did in the project etc... If I save it in PDF format I can still print on a sheet A3 or because I saved it as a PDF it will print as A4?

Sorry for what seems like silly questions for you, but scratching their heads material for me...

    Thanks in advance.

    Rgds

    Jason

To bring your art Illustrator file > Place...

View > display performance > high quality screen will improve the look on the screen. Vectors print at the resolution of the output device, so the preview always is just a preview and not an indication of print quality.

Normal workflow these days is to provide a PDF for printing. You can print on any sheet size you like. You can learn more about "slug" in the help files. The slug area is outside the trim on your ID file and is used to the notes of the printer as you describe.

  • Import of adobe illustrator in powerpoint files. (Vector)

How can I import vector Illustrator in Powerpoint files, so I can change them later. I tried PDF (does not), WMF breacks upward and updated text on the scale makes text shit!

    EPS looks like garbage.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

During the creation of PP presentations I create the vector, and then import that Photoshop and export from there as. PNG using Active generator, or you can export .png straight out of Illy.

To facilitate this, I would use the first option that when you make a change to the vector that it will update the .png file, and then you just update (change image) image in PP once edited.

  • Import native Illustrator files in Indesign with a scale factor applied

    Hi all

Everyone already knows what follows with the suite CS4:

A scale planned, applied to the content of the window containing a file imported from Illustrator (.ai) native.

The scale comes at a time where ever the .ai file is imported. Its usually a reduction to a very small percentage is therefore generally not visually noticeable.

My team tells me that it is a random event that happens quite often and is well known among them. I'm a bit wary as I do not

been able to reproduce the problem myself.

I did a little research on the 'Net' Bust did not encounter any related information.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

According to the crop options used during import (media, culture box, bounding box, etc.) and, possibly, the version of illustrator used originally to make the .eps and those used for conversion (there was a change in the way that art that falls outside the limits of the page is run, but I don't remember if it was Illy or ID , and if no editing at all has been made, the size of the image can change if the limit has changed.

Preference to preserve the dimensions to recreate a link can also be a factor.

  • Why my Illustrator file linked with an opacity mask to my Indesign file a washed out appearance?

I have an indesign this work of Illustrator related uses of the file. The illustrator files contain opacity masks, and when I import into my layout indesign they give the bottom of the pages a washed out appearance. I noticed that the page in my project Indesign who doesn't have opacity masks linked seems fine.

So, I know that the opacity mask is performing the indesign document somehow but I don't know how to solve the problem. I tried merging the texture in the opacity mask, flattening of the illustration illustrator, paste the illustrator shape directly on the page, save the work as a PNG; but nothing seems to work.

Here is a picture of the page with the related work.

Here is one of how the page should look like.

    Screen Shot 2016-06-04 at 11.07.51 PM.png

Here is the configuration of my illustration illustrator opacity mask. Its basically a group of white textures I pasted in the opacity mask. It's a single layer.

If anyone has any ideas or ideas, I would be happy. I hope I have provided enough details.

Thank you for all your help. I thought about it. I did the background texture in photoshop and converted to grayscale. Turns out I should have converted to CMYK. Once I did this everything unified in my indesign document.

Kind of a moment of c ' h but good.

Thanks again for all the quick responses.

  • Importing how degraded CS4(or 5) illustrator in InDesign CS5?

Importing how degraded CS4(or 5) illustrator in InDesign CS5?

Many gradients for illustrator, we can download in Internet, but nothing for InDesign...

(Way, where to copy (Ctrl + C) and don't paste (Ctrl + V) no work in these products, when the off - button 'Copy' - selected gradient)

I try to create the ASE file, but its only for the colors, no nice gradient...

    What should I do?

Neither ASE nor copy and paste incorporating support for gradients Illustrator InDesign. They will have to be recreated with the swatches Panel and Panel gradient color.

  • Import a .pdf and Ai file into indesign cc

    Hello

I would like to know if there is a way to import pdf files and the AI in indesign cc 2014?

    Thank you

If you're wondering how to use a PDF or AI in the form of a graphic in InDesign, file > Place is what you want. If you're wondering how to manipulate elements of a PDF or AI after it was placed in InDesign, this isn't how it works, but you can turn layers on or off in a file placed if you go to object > object layer Options.

  • Preserve spot colors when you import the InDesign file into another InDesign file

    Work in InDesign CC.

I often import InDesign files into other InDesign files and find it very useful for my workflow. Often it is a file that acts like a piece of the library that is used in the other files and I love being able to just change it and automatically update the other files.

However I just came up with a work that is CMYK + spot and spot colors are not preserved import - they seem to import as CMYK. Can I export a PDF file and do it this way, but I prefer to skip the intermediate step.

    Any advice?

Have you checked? It really looks like that process tasks is enabled in the file of reception, but I expect that to affect the PDF as well.

I tested on CS6 and it works correctly, but I have on thei smachine CC, and no time this morning to start it, then maybe someone else will test for you to see if they get the same results.

  • Importing InDesign file with form in the new InDesign document fields

I'm working on a multipage file. Then, I create a few versions where the majority of the pages are the pages of some, but some have slight differences. It fits my workflow to be able to import the same pages of new documents, so that I can just update the master file if changes are made.

(Before I mixed just pages in Acrobat, but it now works better for this particular file)

One of the pages is an interactive form, but interactivity seems to be lost when I place this page in a new InDesign file.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Ruth

    PS InDesign CC

You cannot place an interactive PDF in an InDesign file and retain the

    interactivity, only work is preserved.
