  • Will not play netflix movies - goes to another page of netflix.

Firefox 4 refuses to play Netflix movies streaming. They worked well in the latest version of Firefox 3 I had yesterday. I added a few security and blocking of modules but disabled then those other than the ones I had used with the previous version. Netflix recognizes my account but when I click on the button "resume play", or if I select a movie and he say to play, it is by default to another page of Netflix with instructions of some sort - it will not play streaming videos.

I've just updated to the new Firefox and would not be able to stream my Netflix movies. I was getting an error code associated with Silverlight. I called Netflix and they had me turn on my story and that solved the problem. Their technical support, said the history/cookies must be enabled to stream movies. I hope this helps! (I also followed the prompt on the screen of Netflix with this error code to remove my old registered certificates, etc.).

  • His is very low when playing Netflix movies

During playback of movies on netflix with media player, the sound is very low, even when turned all the way to the top.  I tried to uninstall the driver and reinstall it but did not help.  Any suggestions appreciated.  Thank you.

    Hi robpeavyhouse,

    ·         You did both your Silverlight player and the volume of the speakers to the maximum?

You can increase the volume level by checking the checkbox Loudness equalization (light) in the sound Panel.

You can open the audio pane of the control panel or by right clicking on the speaker icon in the system tray and select playback devices. Follow these steps:

    (1) in the audio menu, select speakers, properties

    (2) select the tab properties of improvements of speakers

    (3) uncheck all THE sound effects, but check the Loudness equalization. Check the option "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device."

    (4) click on apply and OK.

You can also contact Netflix support for more help and information.

  • Why should I use silverlight to view Netflix movies?

I wonder why I have to use Silverlight to play Netflix movies. When I opened Netflix and selected a movie to play in my Firefox browser a gray page open upward and the only option was to play the movie using Silverlight. I have a vague feeling that it is a requirement for Netflix as Netflix is in partnership with Silverlight, a Microsoft product and has a grip on what can be played with this addon. Why there is no alternative. I love the new Firefox, but we always wish for a bit more control of who does what on our machine.

    Respectfully,.
    Tom C.

Netflix determines what program their films are to be used. Firefox has no control over it.

  • The use of Siri to play a movie that you have already purchased

I have Apple TV installation for someone with poor eyesight. The Apple TV allows so many voice commands, this means that the user doesn't have to navigate that is simply fantastic for people with visual impairments.

I need help, what when you use Siri if I say that for the game example the movie "Brave '' it shows several options, but I would just play the movie"Brave"which I already bought.

I know this sounds like the answer should be just highlight the correct and select option and the movie will play. The problem is that the user is visually impaired and therefore have to select the correct icon is almost impossible.

Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

  • Playing AVCHD movies

I have a Sony camera and want to play my movies on my Mac AVCHD without having to download the 3rd party software - is it possible?

You can double-click the AVCHD package and it will open in Quicktime Player.

If you extracted the MTS files out of the AVCHD folder, I don't think there is anything natively on Mac that plays them independently of all the information in the AVCHD folder.

They have to import pictures and iMovie, also. Same caveat applies about free MTS files.

  • Firefox don't play netflix

Firefox used to play netflix. Now he doesn't. Chrome plays netflix.
Current Silverlight. That is what it is?

We always try to nail this question, but I'm sure if you run Firefox in 32-bit mode, Netflix will work. To do this:

    1. Exit Firefox. Go to the Firefox menu and select Exit.
    2. Open your Applications folder
    3. Find Firefox in the Applications folder and click on it once to select it. Press command + i on your keyboard. An information window will open.
    4. In the Firefox window, select open in 32-bit mode
    5. Close the info window and restart Firefox
