  I found a fix on my system, a file permissions issue. While in the hold of the Finder OPTION and click the menu go to the library (takes you to the folder of the user of the library, then go to Preferences > Adobe > Premiere Pro > 10.0) Make sure that the Adobe Premiere Pro and 10.0 files have read/write permissions at all levels (System, wheel and all) by selecting each folder, click on command I. • Hanging screen saver preferences

• Cannot save preferences and select mask question

  I'm unable to use the new 2015,5 Select cc and mask button, I get the error:

  I've deleted and reinstalled Photoshop 2015.5, when I initially installed it I deleted all previous versions of CC (2014 / 2015), but this has not helped, now, when I'm out photoshop I get the following message is displayed:

  I get a CS5 error message since I upgraded our Mac to El Capitan: "cannot save preferences because the file is locked or you don't have the necessary access privileges."   You will need to give full read and write permissions in the following list of folders from Adobe:

  • Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe
  • Macintosh HD/users/user name/Library/Application Support / Adobe
  • : Macintosh HD/users/user/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop CS5 Settings to name all of the permissions for this folder Adobe Photoshop CS5 Settings

  * User library must be hidden by default, which can be activated by opening finder > click the menu go up and press on and hold the option key, which would highlight hidden library

  Photoshop displays an alert box whenever I left who says that he cannot save preferences because the file is locked.

• Cannot save preferences/workspaces etc., in CC2014, the PS said the file is locked. It is not.

  It's the same thing when I moved to CS6 CC, no one here knew the answer, but the Photoshop online help guy told me to move the two files on my desktop, this corrects the problem, but I cannot find these files in CC2014 they were: The Adobe Photoshop CC settings folder and file: com.adobe.Photoshop.plist (I think they are still on my desktop but it's also a lot of other things)

  Did anyone here know how to solve this problem or where to find these files? I know how to get to the hidden stuff, but can not see them. I love the look of the new features and can't wait to try them, but wile, I can't save my settings that I hafta stay with the 'old' CC.

In case someone else has a similar problem the files in question are located in: / users/yourname/Library/Preferences / (you must hold down the option/alt key to see the library folder), and they have the file "Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 Settings" & file "com.adobe.Photoshop.plist"

  Resolved after 8 hours of trying.

  Hold down the "Command" 'option' and 'Shift' and open Photoshop. It will ask you if you want to delete the settings. Say Yes. You need to reset everything but it clears the problem instantly.

  When the scaling, I apply to content (general stream), which can be the default value, but I would have changed it if it wasn't. I hate caled type and features showing the wrong values.

  Experimental features

  The problems are gone now. However, I'll never know exactly what that caused them. When I restarted the computer in safe mode problems continue. But when I tried to restart my computer does not recognize the hard drive in safe mode or in normal mode.

• Two BIG problems: Firefox clears the tabs and will not save preferences

  I'm on a 2009 15 "Macbook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo with OS X 10.6.8. A few weeks ago I started suddenly problems with some features in Gmail... but only in Firefox. Specifically, I was no longer able to preview attachments in the new Gmail attachment viewer. After a long back-and-forth on the Gmail forum with no results, I turned to Firefox. After having poking around in Firefox Help, I decided to reset Firefox. This solved the problem with Gmail, but in turn created two new more serious problems with Firefox: (1) I can't save my history settings in the privacy of the preferences tab (I want to use the custom settings; whenever I have this option in the menu drop down and close prefs., as soon as I open Pref once again, the history of setting is default return "remember history"; (2) even more serious and obviously related: whenever I quit Firefox, all my tabs and groups of tabs went to the re-opening. I can restore the previous session, but this obviously isn't the solution.

  I basically tried everything suggested in the articles referred to in the help of Firefox, reset Firefox again, trashing the prefs.js file in my profile folder (I have no other pref files - that is to say without "prefs - n.js or 'prefs.js.moztmp' or 'Invalidprefs.js'... I don't see not a user.js file in my profile folder either). I even used the disk utility to repair permissions on my Mac HD... for all that is worth it.

I have now uninstalled FF and deleted all traces (Inc. in hidden folders). Now re-installed, it does exactly the same thing and now won't save my homepage either.
