Impossible to uninstall "ITE - other hardware - storage Device UMass (1336).

My system: XP SP3

Bought a Rosewill RHB-320R 7 Ports USB 2.0 Hub with power adapter and fine installed using the built-in driver of XP.

Saw & installed "ITE - other hardware - storage Device UMass (1336) ' in the hardware section of WIndows Update.

(Should have left alone well enogh but Oh no.)

Then got a BSOD, which I think was due to the new driver.

Then tried to find the update in Add / Remove programs and not him is not even with "Show updates" checked.

Tried uninstalling in Device Manager but it will simply install the same driver.

So my question is how I uninstall the update of the original?

Suggestions appreciated.

  • Message "USB Mass Storage Device does not work properly"

Ran AVG PC tune up and referred the problem message "USB storage device work does not correctly. I went to Device Manager, clicked on "bus USB controllers. He showed the device with a yellow exclamation point USB mass storage. I have double clicked on it, went to the drivers and updated the driver. I received a message that the driver was already updated and got a message "device cannot start (code 10).»

I thought that maybe he was looking for the storage device of mass external and plugged on the USB port. He has shown in the Device Manager under the other mass storage device but had no yellow exclamation point (I guess that means it's very good).

Is there an internal procedure and what can I do about this problem? My development program, said that this mistake could cause my computer crashes often or he can go for a long time without replying (which it does).

Hate to be chatty but I wanted to present all the facts.

Can someone please help me get this figured out? Thank you in advance.

    Hello Sammy,.

Please provide detailed information about your question. I appreciate the step by step troubleshooting, and pain that you have taken to resolve your problem. However, there are a few steps more that we can try to diagnose the root cause and to check the health of your system, to solve the problem permanently.

Microsoft does not recommend using third party software melody. That running these software can damage records.

For the problem with the error code 10, I would ask you to try the steps below:

A Code 10 error is generated in the Device Manager in one of the following situations:

    1. Device Manager cannot start the device.
    2. One of the pilots who needs the unit does not start.
    3. The Device Manager has insufficient information to recognize the error that spread upwards by the device driver.

Note: In this case, the Code 10 error can be a very generic message indicating some sort of unspecified driver or device problem.

Error Code 10 is mainly related to devices and hardware driver problems or compatibility problems between the drivers of equipment and additional software that is installed in Windows. Therefore, we recommend that solve you these problems with emphasis on device drivers, configuration of device problems and hardware compatibility issues.

I suggest you to follow the steps described in the following Microsoft article and see if it works for you.

FIX: "this device cannot start" error Code 10 in the Device Manager in Windows

Hope it would help. If problem persists always post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.

    Thank you.

  • Impossible to safely remove external USB HDD - ejection of mass storage device problem

    Hello

I have a 250 toshiba external hard drive. "When I go safely remove device and click on stop, guests me that ' ejection of mass storage device problem and try later.

Is there a reason for this? As I have heard it is dangerous to pull the cord without stopping it first.

This happens usually when something is always access to the USB - HDD.
Yes, it s dangerous to pull on the cable, because you can lose some data and the file system may be damaged. But if you have a situation where you need the drive to take with you and want to just get out the cable to the USB port there is a little trick to disconnect the security apparatus:

Do right click on 'My Computer'-> click on Hardware-> click "devicemanager"-> go into "diskdrives"-> then you need to click on the drive that is your USB - HDD-> with the right button and then click on 'Properties'-> in the menu properties of this drive, you must go on "policies" and click on "optimize for quick removal"-> and then click OK and exit this menu and all-> perform a reboot-> closing information fact. :)

After that, it s safe for remove you your drive even if it s not ejected. :)

    Welcome them

  • Impossible to format or use USB - external HDD - storage device.

I have a computer at home using Windows 7 and laptop using 7 Starter. I also have a 350GB HD and DVD writer unit that attaches via USB. Computers see the DVD burner and the hard disk consider both as a mass storage device. However, when recording work this unit is not available as an option. It may need to be formatted. Windows seems unable to cope with this task. Any ideas how to use this hard drive? Suggestions welcome. Main computer is an all-in-one advent. The phone is a Samsung.

If the external hard drive was manufactured until Windows 7 is released, you may need to download a driver for him to the company that makes it.  A number of people have reported this is the case.  You didn't say what brand drive you have or how old he was.

I hope this helps.  Good luck.

After digging through the forums, I tried to copy the usbstor.inf and .pnf to the Windows\inf directory and reinstalled the driver through the Device Manager, and it loaded right up.

  • Transcend storage device when connected gives error "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) »

Original title: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) ».

Hi, I have a storage device 'Transcend', but when I connect it it gives me "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) »

. in the last ididnt have had problems with this unit. what I can do.

    Shirly

    Hello

    1. What is the brand and model of the device of Transcend storage?

    2. other USB devices work on your computer?

Error code 43 indicates that one of the motors controlling the unit notified the operating system that the device failed in some way.

    Method 1:

    Step 1:

I suggest you try plug the storage device Transcend to another computer and check if it works.

    Step 2:

Also, try to connect the Transcend storage device on another USB port and check if it's work (which you know are working perfectly).

    Method 2:

You can run the diagnostic Fixit tool. Check out the following link.

Hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/hardware_device_problems/

    Method 3:

You can check after uninstalling and reinstalling the USB controller. Follow the steps.

    (a) click Start and then click Control Panel.

    (b) click System and Maintenance, click System, and then click Device Manager.

Note: If Control Panel is in Classic view, double-click System and then click on Device Manager.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.

    (c) in Device Manager, double-click to expand the "USB Bus controllers", right click on the controller host, click "Uninstall" and click "OK".

Check that if at all, there is an exclamation point on the pilot, it suggests problems with the installed driver.

    (d) repeat step 2 to uninstall all items under 'USB Bus controllers'.

Then, restart your computer and Windows 7 will automatically reinstall all USB controllers.

  • Understand the diagnosis - hardware/storage

Just ran a report system on my MacBook Pro 2011 and admit really, I don't understand what the reports but am a little worried to see Toshiba comes in diagnostics for hardware/storage. Macintosh HD shows in the logical volume group, but physical Volumes as it shows

disk0s2 with a device name and the media from TOSHIBA. This is maybe quite normal and I just never noticed it before; However, I am now worrying that maybe I was hacked? How will I know what it is? Could we have a flash drive I used in the past but is no longer connected?

  • When a pop-up message indicates that a storage device has just been attached and I don't put a USB storage device into the computer at all, what that means?

From time to time, (isn't that every now and then, not every day or every week) a message appears on the computer screen to notify that "a storage device has been attached... and something or other on a port '-as it would if a new hardware device had just been installed or removed... only, I have not attached at a storage device.

In fact, apart from the scanner, printer and keyboard connected, which are already inserted until the computer is turned on, no USB storage device or any other thing seized or inserted into the computer when this message is displayed on the lower right screen where the icons on the desktop are,

Why would this happen unless I had personally inserted/joint a USB stick storage device myself in my computer?

I'm afraid that maybe someone to access details and store information from a remote location via a storage device? Is this possible?

And if it's an error of some sort, how to fix this problem?

    Please notify. Thank you.

This probably means you have a bad USB connection somewhere.  I got this a lot when I used markets good USB hubs.  It also happened a lot on a couple of the USB plugs on my old laptop 4 year, where I had plugged in and out things in them so that the connectors are not as strong as they were when new.  My main office more connected devices above that outputs 4 USB, that I had on the back, so I finally bought a card extension to add 4 more exits USB.  If this is your case, perhaps you could do the same.  Expansion cards are not very expensive, usually in the range of $ 15 to $ 25, and they are fairly simple to install.

I hope this helps.  Good luck.
