  Hello, I went from my output to a DAC using the Audio MIDI Set up and everything has worked. Then when I switched the output to the speakers they would not play any alerts - alerts were never neglected internal. Regular audio won't play - just no alert. -I looked into his system - it - preferences interface, everything looks good still does not. I changed the settings on the format via the interface Audio MIDI, thinking that would help, but none of the settings changed anything.
