Ink HP P1006 expiration

I am looking to buy more ink for this printer and as always, I'm looking at the best price.  I found on Amazon and eBay OEM cartridges.  I, of course, has requested information about expiration dates.  A consumer (not the seller) responded and said he found on the web site of HP that for this particular printer ink cartridges have no expiration.  I find this hard to believe and I wanted to run it past HP for me.

Thank you very much.

Karen

  • X476dw/X576dw of HP OFFICEJET PRO ink expiration?

Does anyone know if the new officejet pro series x476dw/x576dw printers have expiry periods on their ink cartridges installed?

I am considering the model as a replacement for Home Office laser.  My print job is unusall because it is rarely heavy.  I am after a durable device and this option provides a route out of toner dust and an environment more own home office.

    Thank you.

In this printer inks do not expire. Here's the official statement from HP on the "expired" ink: ink Expiration - none of the Officejet Pro X-series printers are listed. The date on the ink cartridge is the date of the warranty ends. The printer stops when an ink cartridge runs out of ink.

  • Ink has expired

How will I know if an ink cartridge is expired? I have several of each color and receive error messages ink is outdated and needs to be replaced. is there a coding on packaging?

    Hello Sandy705,

I don't know what model you have, but there's normally a date on the cartridge itself, take it out and check it. :-)

  • HP Z3200 incomplete printhead replacement - restart

    Hello

Recently, I replaced all the inks on this machine which had served market for the past 4 years.  The inks have all expired and were out of warranty, so they were replaced by new inks.  Yet, I couldn't run GMG ColorProof calibration so I replaced now all print heads.  Managed to get 5 of 6 print heads, out of stock on the chromatic red until the end of the year and always get the message "Incomplete print head replacement" that lists all the printheads as needing to be replaced.  I never had this message with the old print heads, but now, when I pass the old ones back in I get this message.  I tried to replace the printheads several times.  The message always, that the print heads need to be replaced.   I hope that the problem will be solved when the last print head is installed, but that will have to wait until the new year.  Any suggestions would be really appreciated, thanks.

That was it, the sensor window was loose.  This made it impossible to complete the installation of the print head.  Now, running through the installation program, lcd says 22 minutes.  Working finally discovered why didn't fit the last print head, was the Red print head 70, was supposed to be 73! Heck! Using the old expired for the moment thank you all for your help.

  • HOW CAN I REPLACE EXPIRED INK CARTRIDGE IN THE PRINTER ALL IN ONE HP OFFICEJET PRO L7780?

HOW CAN I REPLACE EXPIRED INK CARTRIDGE IN THE PRINTER ALL IN ONE HP OFFICEJET PRO L7780?

I DO NOT PRINT A LOT AND I HAVE TWO PRINTERS. THE EXPIRATION DATE ON THE CARTRIDGE, THE PRINTER DOSE NOT LET ME PRINT. I KNOW THAT THERE IS WAY TO OVERRIDE THIS PROBLEM, BECAUSE ON MY PREVIOUS PRINTER THEY REPLACES THE KEY.

The error message itself will remain but will continue to print. This message will remain until the cartridge is replaced. Substitution is the printer printing always regardless of the error message on the display screen.

  • expired ink cartridges

As a small community group, we have received a grant to install a hp printer and a supply of cartridges for same. We have a stock of unopened cartridges the printer tells us are expired. At £35 we are reluctant to renew even as it would be more economical to replace the printer, and certainly not a HP one. Can anyone suggest a solution

Business Inkjet 2800 is designed for lots of printing, where the cartridges with a duration of 4 years should not be a problem.  For the use of the light you would be probably more pleased with a printer with integrated print heads and ink supplies like the Deskjet 6940.

  • CQ305A: ink expiration

    Hi all,

I'm new to this forum and I would like to help with my designjet T770HD printer. The expiration of the ink, the printer stays off until I have replace the cartridge. Research using hp customers (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01764161), my T770 is in the list of these printers can override expiration and continue printing. But it has no such mention in the manual or on the printer screen.

I would appreciate if someone could help me, tell me how can I do this...

    Thank you very much

    Hello

You mention "the printer stays off until I have replace the cartridge. This isn't normal behavior using the end of ink.

    It's normal to behaviour:

    1. you select on the Panel of the printer you want to replace an ink cartridge

2 - the printer will prompt you the instructions

    3. the printer detects that the ink has expired and you will propose a series of alerts

4 - If you recognize the messages that the printer will go up lending, the printer displays the alert "ink has expired" and you will be able to print correctly.   If you do not recognize the messages, you have to delete ink cartrides and install new within the warranty.

Just to clarify, you cannot replace the message on the screen, but you CAN continue to print.

If you have a problem or a diferrent behavior, let know us

    Best regards

  • Without opening the package. How can I know when this ink expires?

Can I use the code on the packaging to know when this ink expires? I don't want to open it.

Thank you. I appreciate your help!

These ink cartridges have no expiration date, they do not have to be exhausted before a certain time. They have a guaranteed end date, which is lasermarked on the body of the cartridge.

    I hope this helps...

  • Photosmart C7280 all in one printer keeps giving me expired ink cartridge warning

My Photosmart C7280 all in one printer Guard giving me expired ink cartridge warning.  The cartridge has expired, but I want to continue to use it as it still has ink.  Is it possible to turn off these warnings to be boring?  I can't print until I have to recognize them!

@ CoolBreeze202 - I'm sorry that you are having this problem with the ink cartridges and the ink expiration error message.  You can try to clean the contacts on the cartridge and the contacts inside the machine to ensure that built up on the parts are not the source of the error message. Pages 163 and 164 of the user manual will show a manual cleanup process.

I would also do a hard reset to the printer to try to clear the error message and return the printer to a known working state. No user settings are lost with a hard reset.  Here is a link that will show you how to do a hard reset on this machine.

  • HOW can I SUBSTITUTE of INK CARTRIDGE EXPIRATION IN HP all-in-one 8600

HOW can I SUBSTITUTE of INK CARTRIDGE EXPIRATION IN HP all-in-one 8600

    Hi @jfinny,

I am able to provide you with more information about your printer model 8600 and its ink delivery system.

Only some models of HP printers supports a substitution.

If supported by your printer, when you print, you should be prompted to press OK on the printer to continue.

If you do not get the prompt to click OK, your printer will deal with the similarly outdated cartridge as it does a cartridge missing or empty. It is designed to protect the entire printhead inside the unit.

You can view more information about these resources:
Consumable inkjet HP - ink Expiration

Cannot print when one of the HP ink cartridges is empty

You can also take a look at the limited warranty for print HP ink and print heads replaceable by the customer of consumables HP inkjet cartridges.

    I found this information in the HP Officejet Pro 8600 - User Guide, but I don't know if it helps at all;

Used with this printer HP cartridges contain a memory chip that helps with the use of the printer. More, this memory chip collects a limited set of information about the use of the printer, which may include the following: the date when the cartridge has been installed, the date where the cartridge of the last use, the number of pages printed using the cartridge, coverage of the page printing modes used, any printing error that occurred and model of printer. This information helps HP design future printers to meet the printing of our customers needs.

To disable the collection of usage information:
    1. on the printer control panel, press the arrow to the rightand then press Setup.
    2. Select Preferences, and then on cartridge chip information.
    3. press OK to disable the collection of usage information.

NOTE: If you disable the memory chip's ability to collect information on the use of the printer, you can still continue to use the cartridge in the printer HP.

I would like to know if there is anything else I can do to help.

I look forward to hear from you!

    Thank you

The date is the 081105 which is the date of end of warranty in YYYYMMDD form as below.

The date "install by" should normally be 6 months before the warranty expires date.  I do not see the specifications for the expiration of the 02 cartridge, but generally it is a function of when the cartridges are installed.  It would seem that the expiry is a maximum of 25 months from the installation date, but this can be reduced if the installation occurs after installation 'by date '.  I have a Photosmart 3210 here and all the cartridges have been installed before the expiration of the warranty, so I can't say my dates how would affect the expiry of the ink.  I have a few cartridges installed with expiration date approximately one year after the date of warranty.

  • Expired/old error message ink HP

    All-in-one HP Photosmart 7180 c

This is the second time in 4 years, I received an Error Message indicating that my HP ink was outdated. All my purchases were the source of HP products. I buy value Packs and have never used anything else than HP ink cartridges.

Has anyone else had a problem with expired HP ink?

The cost of the cartridges is really adding up.

    Thank you..

I see that you have a problem with your HP ink cartridges you bought. I would like to look at the date on the cartridge, and if it is still under warranty I would call into HP Total Care and inform them of the situation that occurred with the ink.  This document here will give you more information on the warranty for ink cartridges and in the end, it will show diagrams on various cartridges to show you where the dates are found on the cartridges so that you can check the warranty date. I hope this helps.

  • 8250 incorrect "date of expiration" and "Empty cartridge" message. Ink replaced but still the message.

I got the expired cartridge message on my Photosmart 8250 for a year or two, for 2 cartridges, even if the cartridges were of the date. Remove one of the offending cartridges and replace immediately seem to do the sorting.  Problem is one of the "expired" cartridges, Magenta, has finally shown as empty and reinstated. I get now both the message expired and the empty cartridge (for all new Magenta). The watch also still message has expired for the cartridge else I have to say is now quite old, but still has a lot of ink in it.

I gritted my teeth and to purchase 2 cartridges of spare yesterday, one to replace the old "expired" clear cyan and the other to replace magenta of replacement. The clear cyan expired message disappeared but the message re magenta is still show it as being expired, even if the dates printed on the two new magenta cartridges is 2014. I always get the message empty cartridge for both the first replacement magenta cartridge that I bought a few days ago, as well as for the second replacement I bought yesterday.

I have tried everything I can find mentioned in this forum to solve this problem, but have had no success. I have to assume that the printer has failed, or is there a fix for this problem?

If you have another cartridge, which could remove the error. You do not have to throw away your existing criteria, just put them in a ziplock bag in plastic and place them in a cool, wet - spot like a refrigerator. Change the cartridges and see if this removes the error message.

If you can try that let me know and I'll be right back with you!

    Have a wonderful day!

  • Expiring ink? SCAM!

While trying to print an airline of boarding, I get an error message saying "ink expiration being cratridge. The messgae said press 'OK' to continue printing with this cartridge. The cartridge was not yet close to being empty, then I pressed "OK" and nothing happened. The printer would not print. I tried to call HP customer service, but it was put on hold for over 20 minutes on Saturday morning. No response. So, I hung up. Fortunately, I had a spare cartridge and after replacing the old cartridge, I could print my boarding card.

I firmly believe that it is a SCAM by HP that requires customers to buy their overpriced ink cartridges, even when it's unnecessary. The printer was working fine until this error message appeared. [Comment edited Moderator] The ink expiration date thing is an arbitrary number and has nothing to do with ability the printer to continue printing. I proved this fact since after withdrawal of the old ink cartridge, running, read expriation date: 29/07/2010! Today is 21/01/2012 and this cartridge as well as all others in the printer has been printing very well! The 'new' cartrdige I installed with an expiry date of 16/02/2011 and works perfectly! Come on HP! Stop ripping off your customers!

    Hi dh2ack

I came across the document according to which a few details on the expiry of the ink

Is there no possibility to bypass the message?

    Thank you
