  First of all, you seem to be under the misconception that a response is a response. On ths forum, an answer is an answer if it solves your problem. In this case I clearly have not solved your problem, and you should review my answers to "uncheck" them.

  IE6 does not work with this forum, and forum owners do not seem to appreciate how much of a problem, it's for people to re-setup of XP. I doubt they'll do something, even if they are aware of this gap.

  Go to your real problem, you can try Microsoft's solution for the HP patch...

  Hi, I tried to install memeo backup of a product for a moment, I recentley purchased. I know that the software and the product is not damaged, because I am able to install it on other computers. Windows popped up saying that the dashboard Seagate (which is the program that installs Memeo instant backup) have not installed properly, so I clicked on reinstall this program with the recommended settings, and I handed the drive and started the installation again. When I did, the registration page (for the unit I was using) pops up and froze, so I closed its process, then Setup of the Board of Directors of Seagate Dash appeared and I started to install, and when he rose to installation of the snapshot of Memeo back, it opens a "Preparing to install" window of a windows installer and after about 10-15 minutes , another windows installer window comes up saying ' to install the server does not.

  Ive done my time just trying to solve this problem and believe he made an incomplete registry file, it whenever it tries to install it tries to use the incomplete record.   Computer is an Apple C5 Desktop OS 10.5.8, Dual 2.7 GHz PowerPC, 3.5 GB of DDR SDRAM.

  I use applications Adobe C3, which now requires updates.  When an Adobe product needs an update, an update notification dialog box appears.  I click ok to download and install the Adobe updates to all my products.  I saw preferences indicating the C3 and a number of other applications.  I click on continue and the download begins.  Installation does not seem to happen or at least it is / was no indication except noting a percentage of completion passing.

  The problem is that this process continues and continues and continues during and in the course of every time I clicked on continue.

  When I could see the preferences once, I deselected all downloads there.  I then clicked on continue.  Unfortunately, the process has continued and continues and continues whenever I clicked on continue to download, but not to the best of my knowledge.

  There is no error message.

  This problem occurs for every download of the update.  I have to click Cancel to stop this process so that I can continue work on computer.

• I have problems to download or install anything which does not directly from windows update or security or disk update.

  I just got a new computer with windows Vista.  I had another computer with Vista, but have not had this problem before.  I can't download any programs like itunes, adobe or messengers.  The problem is that when I download or install it runs through the steps, but does not end.  If I download something I choose to save to the desktop.  I don't have the box checked to close when the process is done, but it remains closed.  I tried to disable the virus protection and firewall and have always found the Outlander issues.  Is there something I can do to fix this?  It became a same stress and annoying problem with a list of solution without end.  Nothing seems to work for me.  Can someone please help with to let me know what I can try?  I tried what was listed on help and in all instances and still can not find the solution.  It cannot be a virus or security issue because it was a brand new computer and I did all the updates of windows.  This problem has been with me from the beginning on the brand new computer.  Help, please!

  Thanks for posting your question on the Forums of Windows Vista.

  Sometimes security software can block access to the software download and installation.

  You can try disabling the security software and check if that allows you to download and install the software.

  If this does not help, you can also try to create a new user account on the machine and check if that helps.

  You can follow the article given to transfer data from the old user account for the new user account:

  NOTE: Make sure that you do not transfer the parameters, but only data from corrupt or good account the new account will again get corrupted and the question may reappear.

  You can also try to set up the machine in a clean boot state, and check if all software 3 part blocks access.
