install the black print cartridge

My HP Laserjet M1522n MFP changed today.  Since then, the Panel was an error flashing and showing the message "install black cartridge."  I have never installed a black cartridge - is NOT a color printer.  The toner cartridge needs to be replaced.  H E L!

Nice day!

This means the printer unable to detect inserted toner there. You may need to try the steps below:

1 reinsert / reinstall toner.

2. If the error persists, remove the toner and open all trys to inspect is there foreign objects such as paper clips or paper debris...

3. clean the smart chip (color gold).

4. are there any toner alternatives to try? This procedure will be allows to refine the ink/printer problem.

Hi, we have a new printer HP LaserJetPro M201dw. We put up this morning, following the instructions as stated in the manual, but the printer keeps blinking and say "install the black print cartridge or clear jam."

The printer has never been used, so there is no jams, and the ink cartridge was too brand new and a black cartridge HP official. The printer does nothing, it doesn't print, I can't do a cleaning page, it simply does not work. I tried resetting, disconnected from the power supply from the mains and put it back, and we tried a second new ink cartridge, he pulled several times and it still says "install the ink cartridge. I is not a jam in the printer at all. I tried following the recommended steps for others who have had the same problem, but always without success.

The printer has been installed successfully on my Windows Vista computer, but the same error message appears on my computer when I try to print directly from the computer.

I would be grateful for any suggestion. Thank you very much.

You probably have a joint expedition on something.  It really is a common thing, now it's HP shipped toner in printers take the tray, toner, open everything. Tilt the machine upward, look inside, etc.  Use a flashlight if you have not entered of lights in the room.

If it's blue or orange, a transport lock.  It could be as simple as a piece of tape, a plastic tie or a block of expanded polystyrene (white).

No idea how to do this?

Sorry you have a problem with black cartridge not read does not correctly. You can try to clean the print head and the cartridge.

Sometimes the printhead does not correctly read the contacts and needs maintenance.

New replacement printer arrived today with the new inks, installed game machine with the new inks and everything works as it should. Old machine is to immerse for recycling as advised.

I'm relieved and I appreciate the after sale HP just rendered services. Although I am a little worried and now fear that it could happen again "after the guarantee" since no clear explanation is given in what concerns what could have caused the failure. And judge with an option of replacement is the best solution, it seems like the cost of the den could be greater than the value.

Finger is crossed, I hope that it will serve this time or at least give reseonable service before getting on my nerves.

    Thank you HP.

  • CP1025nw: Printing with the black print cartridge only

Above printer just bought. Vendor assures me that I can print with just installed black toner cartridge. There is no cartridge included in the box! Until I set up and try, East - this correct work with only black cartridge installed? Thank you

    Hi @NoMe1,

I have read your message and see that you would like to know if the printer print with just the black toner installed. I want to help you.

This model requires all toners to be installed to print. When tonics for one or several are exhausted, they will have to be replaced in order to continue printing.

You can configure the printer to print in grayscale, which will use less color cartridges. Here are the steps:

The application, go to the file menu, click Print. Select the driver.

Click on the dropdown, under color quality, you should have the options for printing in grayscale or possibly black and white.

If you appreciate my efforts, please click on the "Thumbs up" button below. Thank you.

  • HP1515: MAC: unable to print with the black print cartridge only

I would like to print the document with colors black and white. There are two options of color paper Type/quality. I tried to use the black cartridge grayscale mode only. However, only the white paper printed.

I checked the supply level of ink that are in good condition (they are in any case the new cartridge).

I also tried the high quality grayscale Mode. Things have been printed, but the result was unsatisfactory because of the color of melted from the police. The color of the police were too light being visible.

What I can do to make sure only black and white for printing. No gray color is fine.

    Hey @yy1992,

Welcome to the Forum from HP Support.

I see you have a problem with print quality with the all-in-one printer HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 1515. I would like to help.

The printer makes a decent quality copy from the front panel?

I recommend you try two Solution in this article from HP. It is oriented towards users of Mavericks, but it should be pretty close to what you see on your Mac. Note that you can run the utility of cleaning printheads up to three times if you do not see a clear improvement immediately.

Please let me know the result of your troubleshooting by responding to this post. If I helped you to solve the problem, feel free to give me a virtual h.o.t. by clicking the "Thumbs Up" icon below and by clicking to accept this solution.

  • Photosmart 6510 fine print until the replacement of the black print cartridge

Same problem frustrating as others have reported. 6510 worked very well. Replacement ink cartridge black (HP 564) how low ink level (did not wait until the ink was out) and now black doesn't print do not. New registered as full of ink cartridge. Seen in the previous post a solution that worked for someone involving a reset that included a secret which has not have been posted by HP employee. Please... can I get these steps to try or suggestions in addition to clean the print head, etc. ? (Crossed all recommended steps HP.)

Warranty expired about 6 months there (in the United States). Bought the second new cartridge in the cartridge case was bad... nothing has worked and am at my wit's end. Thanks in advance for any help that will make this printer usable again!

    Hi mak-86.

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you are facing some print quality problems on your HP Photosmart 6510, you cannot print black ink after changing the cartridge.

I would like to continue you here: printer does not print black ink or color of ink or prints blank Pages, I understand, you may have made some of these steps already but I need you to complete all the steps in order to solve the problem of the missing black, you encounter.

If you are unable to print in black ink, I think that the issue may be the printer and not the cartridge. I sent a private message on the Forums, go to your userpage to the right of your username.

I hope hear from you soon.

    Thank you

  • Error message: install the black print on LaserJet M1522nf cartridge

    Hello:

I have a LaserJet M1522nf and receive the error message 'Installation' black cartridge, even if I installed a new cartridge. I tried 3 different new cartridges and still get the same error.

I am currently using this printer on a computer Windows Vista Home Basic.

The current cartridge that I'm getting is a product LD CB436A.

This happened for months and we use it in our Office System. Every day, it becomes home and I'm about to buy a spare brand printer if I can't get this resolved.

    I really appreciate your help!

I had the same error 'Install black cartridge', but the problem was slightly different.

No paper in the tray, I got the same error, even after several power cycles.  Turned out there was a small piece of paper into the right of the feed roller behind the cavity of the entry document (without removable tray, only a removable plastic outer shell).  After removing the foreign paper and wiping the toner on the roller long black, on normally and now the printer prints very well.

  • There is ink in the black print cartridge, but he refuses to print a doc of W b

I used to be able to print in black and white, even if a color cartridge is empty. I had several relocations of operating system, which means all new drivers I got after the initial installation is long gone.

Is there a new driver that will run on the print command to the printer that will allow me to print in one color (or n/b) provided ink in this cartridge regardless of the quantities in the other cartridges?

Please read this post then provide some details.  What printer model? What operating system?  There the error messages on the computer screen or the printer?

HP and other printer manufacturers have technology another printer for different needs.

    • Some have integrated into the ink cartridges print heads.  These printers can print generally with one or more of the colors completely empty, or even with color or black cartridges (but not both) removed. The Deskjet 6980 series is an example.
    • Other printers have separate replaceable printheads and inks.  An example would be the Officejet 7110 printer.  In these printers print head can be replaced if they are damaged by running the printhead with colors off.  Some of these printers allow printing with a color, the other will not.  If the printer is run without ink in one or several colours, the printer may be damaged, but the user may be able to recover without having to send to the printer for the service.
    • Other printers have permanent print heads.  To run only those without little ink in all colours would risk causing damage to the print head because of clogs, air ingested in the printhead or grilled printhead resistances of shooting. The Photosmart 3310 series is an example of this type of printer. For printers with fixed print heads that could require the service to get the printer to print properly again when the ink is finally replaced.

The document described here how the ink is used.  The document is written for inkjet printers HP the same principles apply to printers inkjet from other manufacturers.

  • Color cartridge loaded in the black print cartridge slot and vice-versa - now cannot remove the

Accidentally, I loaded the new color and black cartridges in the wrong slots, and now I can't delete them.  How can I get them without breaking the printer?

If you have a spare cartridge you can look and see a small crest on the top of the cartridge near the front.  This is the part that is stuck.  Using a blunt knife or the handle of a spoon to gently release the cartridge down a little should allow the cartridges to be released.

  • Black print cartridge registers is not on the right side of the page

CP1215 has developed a weird problem! Recently replaced the black print cartridge (new, original HP).

Printing a document in BLACK color, this isn't a problem. Crisp and clear impressions.

Print the same document in color gives completely misaligned recording BLACK on the side RIGHT of the page. The side LEFT is clear!

Printing CONFIGURATION PAGE confirms the problem. Registration of marks below on the LEFT are perfectly aligned.

But on the lower RIGHT, all colors are aligned with the exception of black - the black line is much higher and offset printing to the right where it should be. That's why the color prints are all blurry on the right side of the page.

Calibration several times running, check the drivers etc.

    Any help/advice is really appreciated!

    Hi Gemini02,

Sorry about the long absence, but was busy with other stuff. More beat troubleshooting according to your last email.

First of all, a few answers to your questions:

    1. don't know what the problem is. Don't want to start replacing immediately.

    2. all ink levels are more than 80%; Black nine.

    3. all the cartridges are original HP Black has been replaced recently, the other three provided with your printer.

    4. the paper is double-a premium, 80gr

5 paper is set on the plain. Have you tried with the HP90 and light parameters too.

After following your instructions of troubleshooting:

6 printer moved closer to the wall outlet - it's a machine heavy tho!

7 pressed & held green button. Config and supply status printed pages.

    8. print with other applications (Photoshop, Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Reader).

Problem persisted. Registration completely to the bottom of the hand right side of the page and the worst in the lower corner straight out.

    Acts of desperation next, pure:

9 deleted each cartridge, shaken several times on the axis horizontal and then triggered one end while decreasing the other and vice-versa several times. Replaced in the status bar.

    10. Ran HP Toolbox calibration.

    11. test print to Adobe Reader - same document as before. Substantial improvement!

    12. Repeat steps 9 and 10. Further improvement.

    13. Repeat steps 9 and 10 more. Almost no problem checking.

    14. Repeat steps 9 and 10 more. No record of the questions at all!

Then, to avoid the location and power source:

    15. moved printer in its normal location.

16 connected the printer to its normal power source - an extension of good quality.

    17. reprinted on the same page. No registration no questions at all.

I have no idea why the steps 9 and 10 would have such an impact. And why repeating them would improve the print quality progressively until no problems are observable. I have detailed my action here in case they can help someone else.

I thank very you much for the support and guidance you provided. If you have any idea why the repeated shaking and calibration solved this problem, I would be very interested! Keeping in mind I ran several times previously without success to calibration.

    Thanks again for your help.

  • e-All-In-One series C410: HP Photosmart - black print cartridge produces only "ghost image".

The black print cartridge produces a ghost image.  I installed a new cartridge with the same results.  The photo and 3 color cartridges cartridge are all ok.  I also introduced "clean printhead" and ran a "print quality report", where black could not appear in the report.

Dragon fur, I rechecked possible solutions in your response, and after a new test of everything that I had already done, I noticed an alignment test.  That was the problem.  I tried to clean the print heads, as a last resort, on my 4 year old printer.  Solution: I bought a new printer.

Thank you for your wonderfully detailed answer.
