Install Windows 7 on Tecra S10

Hello

I have a problem with my Tecra S10 - 15Z. The Tecra had Windows 7 pre-installed, I removed the windows 7 and install Windows XP from the endowment of original disc with the Tecra. Now I can install Windows 7 again because I did not have any backup of the pre-installation.
Question: The Toshiba has any FTP site where I can download windows 7 for model?

Thank you
Best regards.

Laughing out loud
All you can do now is to order the new DVD Win7 recovery under https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
Another possibility is to install Win7 on your own. Then, you can use Microsoft facilities disc and install all the stuff only Toshiba.

Thank you. (Excuse me for my English)

For disk drive optical feature you n t need to install an additional driver.
You can use your optical disc drive, the usual use of DVDs and CDs?

Can you maybe send a screenshot of this message?

As far as I know when you start the upgrade (upgrade disc put in ODD) you should see THE menu.

  • 64-bit Windows 7 for Tecra S10

Ask somehow Toshiba 64-bit DVD or use "' another source and use the same S/N with regard to the current system?

You can not switch to the 64-bit version.
You have to make the clean operating system installation.

You can just upgrade home premium to ultimate (32- or 64-bit) version.

  • Cannot install Windows 98 on Tecra 540CDT

I have an old 540CDT TECRA who worked very well until recently. Due to some problems, I need to reinstall Windows 98 SE (I believe it's 98 is installed, but it could have just 98), the installation stops with a message that the modem drivers are not compatible with windows 98 SE. I have tried new drivers on Toshibas home page, but cannot find not everything. What can I do?

    Hello

Have you used the Toshiba Recovery CD or an original cd of Microsoft windows?
I found only the modem driver for Win95 on the European Toshiba driver page.

  • Can Tecra A6 - I install Windows 7?

Does anyone know if the Tecra A6 (A60E) is OK with the new Windows 7 RC?

    Shaun

Why you should not be able to install Windows 7 on Tecra A6?

So I think that you can install Windows 7 but I n t understand why so many people want to install a beta version of the operating system on its laptops. I mean a beta version of the operating system can cause problems and not run stable under Vista or XP. In addition the new Windows doesn t have features they are important and everybody needs this.

For example, I have two laptops from Toshiba. With Vista and XP, but I prefer the laptop with XP. I think it s the operating system more stable I have ever had.

  • Can Tecra S10-176 - I install Windows 7 64 bit?

    Hi all,

I'm new to this forum. I just bought a Tecra S10-176 with Vista Business 32 bit and I could upgrade to Windows 7 Professional 32 bit pay 29 euros.

However, I'm tempted to buy a license for Windows 7 Professional 64 bit OM. Since Toshiba support center (Italy), I have not received any clear indication of the benefits of the Tecra S10-176 with the 64 bit version of Windows 7 Professional. Can someone tell me if it is (or is not) a bad idea to install the 64-bit version on my Tecra S10-176?

    Thank you
    Marco

    Hello

Theoretically, you can install what you want on your laptop. It s yours! ;)
And I don t understand why you think that Windows 7 64 bit n t be a good idea.

I checked the Toshiba for Windows 7 64 bit drivers page and it seems that they are all available. This means you get all drivers! :)

  • Tecra S10 - Windows 7 drivers wanted

Hi, after I installed windows 7 ultimate on my tecra s10 I am looking drivers for windows 7, especially the pilot 3 g (gsm), the bluetooth driver and the shock sensor driver (HARD drive). All other works correctly with microsoft provided drivers. Thanks for the help, Daniel

    Hello Daniel

In my view, it must be checked for drivers and tools available at first and then decide to install more recent or not OS.
In any case I am happy to know that you have no problems running on your laptop Tecra Win7.

According to the document, under http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9902P50000R01.htm your Tecra Toshiba will rely fully for Win7 but for the moment, the drivers are not available on Toshiba Win7 download page - http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/windows7_drivers.jsp

What you can find and install at the moment is newest version of 7.00.10 for Win7 BT stack and you can find the Toshiba BT Portal under http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/
From time to time, check the Toshiba download page and check if the drivers are ready to download.

    Good luck.

  • Issue when installing fresh Windows XP on Tecra 9000

    I have a Tecra 9000 running Linux.

I would like to install windows XP but the Setup CD I charge readers and then crashes to windows is the loading screen. I have no recovery disks or driver for this computer as I bought it used. and I don't know why he struggled.

The SN for the unit is Z1086914G ST900-0.
I have read forums about similar problems and think it might be the chipset driver for the HARD disk.

I can't find a driver for nowhere so I can't try this line of thinking.

    Anyone has any ideas.

    Hello

As I remember the Tecra 9000 does not support RAID or SATA controller that would require RAID or SATA drivers, so I put t think that your problem is related to the missing driver

Have you tried to install Win XP SP2 from container?
Are you sure that the HARD drive is OK? I think you should check the HARD disk for some problems initially.

  • Tecra M11 - 11J - cannot install Windows 7 64 bit

    Tried to upgrade a Tecra M11 - 11J for Windows 7 64-bit.
The installation gets all the "Loading Windows files" screen, then turns off and freezes, with the release of maxing out CPU fan but no HARD disk activity.

Have tried to reinstall XP (works fine), flashing the BIOS to the latest version, re-seats of the RAM, change the HARD drive in "Compatibility" mode and reinstall Win 7 - same problem.

Have you tried Win 7 32 bit - the same problem.
Installation of USB, instead of DVD - same problem.
Different flavors of Win 7 - same problem!

    It's extremely frustrating.
I upgraded the memory up to 8 GB, hoping to take advantage of this with W7x64 and now I'm stuck with a XP machine and 4 GB of of of the RAM to lose.

Would be very grateful for any suggestion.

    Thank you.

and installation of Win 7 does not even using the old 4 GB of RAM?

Or have you tried to install Windows 7 on the Tecra M11 using the new 8 GB of RAM?

What of the HARD drive? The HARD drive is displayed on the first page of the BIOS?

  • Toshiba Tecra S3 - new SSD stuck on JBOD, cannot install windows on it

I just got myself a Kingston V series 64 GB SSD drive, but I can't it is detected by windows installation programs.
After looking around, I found that the Tecra S3 drives must be "1RAID 0" and not JBOD to activate windows to
be installed on it. (unless you use the recovery CD, which I did not right now, even if I wanted to use it)

I also found the "collar" necessary to get the BIOS to change when you get to 'run the creation '.
    is 1,2,3,4, [Enter].

But here's the catch: + BIOS does not account for the string... +.
I type the string, 1234, [Enter], and it cancels my desired, change as if I said NO and set it to JBOD.
(if I don't type the string on the right, it comes out, but stays 1raid0 and "run the creation" is still there)
I tried on one of my other drives and it worked fine, but for some reason this drive seems not wanting me to.

I tried the USB drive (works fine) and the BIOS sees it for what it is, so that the drive works well (from my tests)

Would be really appreciated any ideas on what to do now, I'm out of ideas on what I did not properly
    Thank you!

    Hello

    > I just got myself a Kingston V series 64 GB SSD drive, but I can't it is detected by windows installers

Have you included the RAID driver in Windows before you tried to reinstall the OS?
On the European driver Toshiba page, you can find the RAID driver to be included when installing Windows installation.

    Regarding the change in BIOS RAID;
I m not very good, but it might be possible that you cannot change the reason the SSD RAID option.
If other drives are working properly and that the RAID may be changed using a common HARD disk the problem is related to the new SSD drive.

Maybe you need to update the firmware on the SSD drive to check it out.

  • I can't install my license Windows XP on Tecra M10

For some reason I can't install Windows XP on the new Tecra M10 notebook coming from my company in. I deleted Windows Vista Partitions on the disk hard using Delpart like that he'd let me at least to install Windows XP.

After that I put our Volumn license CD into the laptop and it begins to boot the CD and to halfway through a blue screen of death comes up saying "a problem has been detected a Windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer." This happens whenever I try to install XP from scratch. The laptop came with Windows XP SP3 recovery disks. I put this in and had given laptop to default values with the thought of Windows XP that could solve the problem.

After having done that, I tried to reinstall XP and the same thing keeps coming back. Please help me.

  • Tecra M2: How to install Windows XP via a LAN?

    Hello
    I have a laptop Tecra M2
and my CD-rom drive is damaged
and I don't have a usb floppy drive

I tried to install Windows XP MC by using a usb cd-rom drive
but it fails to boot from usb cd-rom.

I heard that there is a way to make it through a local network
    How can I do?

PS: I have a desktop PC (for LAN)

    Thank you...

The boot to LAN is not very easy for a common user with no additional experience.
The laptop supports a PXE option to boot from the local network (DHCP server)
Well, the best way is to googel a little bit for PXE and boot from LAN.
You will find many sites with descriptions and how to do it.

    For example like this:

    Hello

first of all the best way to reinstall the system is to use the recovery disc. Begin just with him, follow the display and the machine will be automatically set back to the default settings.

If you want to do the installation yourself, that it's almost like on desktop computers.
Boot from the Windows CD and install the OS.
To install the drivers and software in the correct order.

Is it possible to install windows 7 on a PTA50E A5 and if so where can I find drivers, I looked on the support sites, but the filters can't find the model.

    See you soon

Yes, it is possible to install Win 7 on this laptop.
If drivers Win 7 are not released on the European driver Toshiba page, then you will need to collect the drivers of your own hands.

  • Issues of update/upgrade of equipment for Tecra S10-183

    Hello

    TOSHIBA TECRA S10-183
    Serial number: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Model number: PTSB3E-0YR04KGR
    Code BTO: P8700/2G/160G/15.4WBT/DS2/L/M/B/W/3G
    Pre-installed software: Yes [R11382GR]
    Purchase date: 13/05/2011

I use above professional mobile phone use for CAD programming as well as for Office applications.
2 GB RAM (standard), I can increase up to 4 GB Kingston (ex aequo) on purchase.
With the 160 GB HARD drive, I had a lot at the beginning of the loss of speed.
So I leave a month later to a switch of OCZ Vertex 120 GB of a second
And lasted almost 9 months without problems.
Now, I don't have so much free space in my SDS. So I would like to
'Intel SSD 520 Series 240 GB 2.5 SATA III'
    Skip the leave.

My question would be, I would get this problem?
    (1) in theory, SATA3 work perfectly well this SSD 240 GB right?
In the manual, it is up to 120 GB SATA2 SSD in it. However, the 2009 manual. The information is very old. And at that time were not yet 240 GB free for end users of hard drives SSD SATA3.

    (2) is there any Windows Professional / Ultimate / Business 64 for 7 as this laptop?
Original, I have Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. I wanted that my memory that expanded up to 8 GB. CAD program running on the 64-bit operating system much better.

    (3) is the card graphic and/or welded directly on my cell or can I leave replace it? It is a plug-in card?

    (4) can I switch to a processor / CPU? What size?

    (5) the Mobile UMTS and HSDPA / HSPAU / LTE is capable?

    (6) I still can't be on the Toshiba support site:
    http://de.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/generic/SUPPORT_PORTAL/
find when you enter the serial number or model number is not my laptop?

On a response, I would be very happy.

Sorry for the bad English. My language is German!

So I hope that someone can help me with my questions.

    With sincere friendships.

    Etem Basoglu

    > 1) in theory, SATA3 work perfectly well this SSD 240 GB right?
    > Manually, it is up to 120 GB SATA2 SSD in it. However, the 2009 manual. The information is very old. And at that time were not yet 240 GB free for end users of hard drives SSD SATA3.

The SATA controller is not limited in size, you can use 250 GB, 500 GB or more large hard disks. The same should be possible with SSD drives since the controller is the same.

(> 2) is there any Windows Professional / Ultimate / Business 64 for 7 as this laptop?
    > Original, I have Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. I wanted that my memory that expanded up to 8 GB. CAD program running on the 64-bit operating system much better.

Don't know what you mean exactly, but if you want to installed Win 7 64 bit, then you can do without big problems the 64-bit drivers are available on the European driver Toshiba page.

(> 3) is the card graphic and/or welded directly on my cell or can I leave replace it? It is a plug-in card?
The laptop seems to be equipped with a NVIDIA Quadro NVS 150 M chip graphic. This is an external chip that is connected/soldered on the motherboard. But even if you can remove this chip, the upgrade is NOT possible.

    (> 4) can I switch to a processor / CPU? What size?
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm

Generally the CPU upgrade depends on the chipset of the motherboard.
You could upgrade the processor, if the chipset would support the new processor.
There are still questions about BIOS support, but I've read here in the forum that some people have been able to upgrade the new processor.

(> 5) the Mobile UMTS and HSDPA / HSPAU / LTE is capable?
Support for 3G modules appears to support the HSDPA standard

(> 6) I still can't get on the Toshiba support site:
    > find when you enter the serial number or model number is not my laptop?

Maybe it is not inserted into the database, but your Tecra S10-183 belongs to the series of PTSB3E that you can search other models belonging to the PTSB3E for details
