Install Windows 8 will fail with white screen

Hi all

I am trying to install Windows 8 32-bit on an Acer Aspire 5710 G. The installation goes very well and resets, 1 - 2 times normally. Happens to the configuration of the devices and about 73% then the screen is blank. I leave for a few hours, but it just not right. When I walk, it reports on the electric installation has failed and restores the installation (BTW really nice feature).
The laptop is old for a few years, but past fine Upgrade Advisor. Specifications of the laptop are:
-Intel Core Duo T2450 (2.0 GHz) 1
-ATI Radeon HD2300
-3 GB RAM
I tried the following installation combinations:
-Upgrade files now.
-Update do not keep files.
-Boot from DVD and remove my existing partitions.
After some research, I also tried:
-Connect an external monitor and the TV where the video was going to a different output.
-Check the BIOS updates - I'm using the latest version and given the age of the machine do not expect not yet updated.
-Disconnect all the extra material with the exception of a USB mouse.
-Check the settings of the BIOS for NX etc but there is nothing that seems useful. BIOS Acer has very few options.
Someone at - it any other suggestions? Or know of any incompatibility with the above material? I wonder if the laptop is just incompatible with Windows 8, and Upgrade Advisor simply doesn't know about yet.
Thank you
Brett.

After having no luck here or via Acer I have renounced the upgrade to windows 8. Called the MS store and got my refund processed today.

    Hello

I'm trying to run a backup on a Windows SBS Server 2008 using Windows Server Backup to an external 2 TB USB hard drive - I chose the backup once and personalized with "activate System Recovery."

This fails with an error message "the system cannot find the file specified" after having transferred about 28.23 GB of data.

The Event Viewer error code: 2147942402

I tried to run the backup to another device (a disk on a PC on a network) and it successfully without any problem which seems to me some kind of problem with the USB key.

I came across these links: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/979281 and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976972 - but the server I use does not have a USB Host Controller NVIDIA - instead, there "Intel(r) ICH9 Family USB Universal Host Controller" - so I'm hesitant to try this fix.

I'll reformat the USB drive to see if that helps...

    Thank you very much

  • Windows 7 Pro: crashes with white screen after login

    Dear community,

I have an annoying bug with Windows 7 Professional (64-bit version) and could not find any problem even until that or other forums.

After logging in (choose user and entering the password), the "Welcome" screen appears for a few seconds. Then there is a blank wallpaper (i.e. According to the user settings) and the system is blocked. Everything you see is a mouse cursor (a regular), who move, but not possible interaction.

It does not work to get the Task Manager with CTRL-ALT-DEL in that State, and at least until 30 minutes just don't get past/changes. However, there is ongoing activity of hard disk, according to the LED. Only way out is to cut using the power switch.

The accident happened exactly regularly, but about every start of the second. Sometimes more often (i.e. it takes 3 or 4 attempts to open a session) or sometimes less often (i.e. up to 3 or 4 boots without problem).

Other than that, it is once you have successfully connected, the system works very well.

I tried to remove the user and re-create it, but the bug reappears immediately after.

Any ideas? Or advice where I could find what program/process is actually blocked?

    Hi Ruth & all,

    Thanks for your suggestions.

Troubleshooting took a long time, because I do not use this PC every day and sometimes you can't tell if the problem is really gone or the boot just happened to work several times in a row...

After all, using the clean boot and the reactivation of services/startup items one by one, it seems that I could single out the Internet of G-Data as a cause security suite. I'm trying to do, with their support, if this is a known bug.

    Best,

    Colin

install windows with the product key

someone I gifted an old laptop with a lot of things about what I don't want and stuff I want is missing. I would like to know how to re - install windows on the laptop with the product key on the back of my laptop.

or, even better, if someone could find me a way to get a disk to restore to factory without purchasing information, which would be awsome.

I thank you for your time and have a good day.

If the laptop is one of the well known brands, he may well have a restore partition.  If you do not have a manual to the user of this computer, then go to the manufacturers website and look for the documentation.  At the very least, you should be able to find information about how to restore the laptop from the recovery partition.

If the restore partition has been decimated, the manufacturer may still have available for a nominal cost of installation diskettes.

    Etherlass

    Hello again,

Thought I would let you know that I've finally sorted this! :)

In another forum I read a post from someone who had a similar problem and solved it by uninstalling the "failures" updated, restart the PC and then re-run the update. It worked! It had not occurred to me to try what I've assumed that 'impossible' meant that they had not installed at all, not that they didn't had simply not installed correctly and must have become corrupt.

I hope this will help someone else who has the same problem, I've had!

How to install Windows 8?

Original title: Installation of Windows 8

    Hi Qadir,

The issue could be due to the supplied product key does not match the press which is used to install Windows. The product key that is provided can be a file without assistance, in a. EI. CFG file, in the PID.txt file or in the BIOS firmware. Windows OEM 8 machines ship with the product key in the firmware, and if this product key does not match the press, then you will see the above error message.

I suggest you to change the product key to the correct for the media you are trying to install. If the system has a product key in the motherboard (o. a. 3.0 [Activation OEM] provides an OEM product key in the firmware), you use an Unattend file, file (EI.cfg) edition Configuration or the product ID file (PID.txt).
