Installation and format Vista

Trying to keep a long story short, I recently downloaded a rootkit on my pc and tried and failed to remove it, I read in many places it's easier just to format your hard drive and start over, this is what I tried to do. However, when I put the windows cd click on install, accept the terms and taking me to the place where install option, my hard drive is not an option and the only thing I had come was my external HD.

I talked to a COMPUTER technician who suggested, I need my drivers on an external device, but after talking to another technician who knew my pc specs said it shouldn't matter. In any case, I'm at a huge loss, which is in fact wrong and why my hard drive is not an option. Hope someone might be able to enlighten us.

Oh and im using vista Home premium 32-bit.

What is the make and model of your computer and what Vista installation media are you using? The problem you are having is because the Vista installation DVD does not have drivers controller SATA drive on this subject. If you have a machine brand OEM (HP, Dell, etc.) and that you use the medium of the installation/recovery supplied with your computer, you should not have this problem because the correct drivers will be on this disk. If you have a generic/home built computer then you have these drivers on a USB key; you will get the card website drivers mother mftr... This is a manual step by step by MVP John Barnett:

Have you installed security software after formatting windows?

If so, you can uninstall the security software temporarily and check if you receive the access violation error.

If the uninstallation of security software solves the problem, you may need to configure the settings of the software of safety accordingly. Please contact the software vendor for assistance in this regard.

    Hey, I'm Ryan.
I am running windows vista 32 bit and I get 2 files corrupted when I run SFC - they relate to the windows sidebar (sidebar.ini and store source file is also corrupted). I did a repair installation, and this always happens when I run the SFC.

1 - is this going to cause any problems to my laptop if I leave it alone?
2 could it be related to a virus?
I'm sorry for the questions, but I'm confused as to how this happened... Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you very much.

    1 NO.

  • The installer of Windows Vista is not allowing to install or uninstall programs and my laptop came not with a CD/DVD installation, what to do?

A few days ago I had some problems playing Halo 2. The program itself has suggested that I have reinstall. So, I uninstalled Halo 2 without incident. However, during my attempt to reinstall Halo 2, I received the following Message: redists\vcredist, msi: the Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if Windows Installer is not correctly. Contact your support team. Click Retry to try to complete the step failed, or click Cancel to cancel the installation.

An error occurred when copying files in the background. An unexpected error has occurred while the application was copy files to your computer. Please try to reinstall the game, or contact customer support if that does not solve the problem.
After contact with the teams of tech games Halo wasn't any help, solution phone a 1-888-xxx-xxxx, a refund of my game. I am bypassing the conversation that happened because the individual basically blew me off the coast. Run the verification tool file system, basically said that I had a corrupted file, and you run the recovery tool. I did this, but without success. I tried to research on issues such as the best of what I know how, only to discover that I need to use the Setup Windows Vista Home Premium CD/DVD. This is another problem. When my wife bought this laptop, she received only a couple of recovery disks. So with my limited resources, I'm in this river with pots of Earth on one side and on the other hippos and and a thumb in a plum for a paddle.
I am in great need of a useful solution.
    Thank you...

  • Installation installation of Win Vista Home premium error Windows errors can not reset the deployment engine. to install windows, restart the installation.

Original title: Error Installing Win Vista Home premium.

I have a PC with Windows Vista Home Premium.  Suddenly, it wouldn't start.  I changed the boot CD ROM and put my Vista disc in and tried to do a "repair" that it came with missing engine or something like this.  After several attempts, I gave up and formatted hard drive losing all my data and programs (rather difficult to backup files when the computer does not start).  So, I tried a complete installation.  I put in the license code and he started the installation.  After a few minutes, the message came;  "Windows Setup could not reset the deployment engine.  to install windows, restart the installation.  I tried several times including completely turn off the computer for several minutes and try again.  I tried several times.  I thought oh well, I will install my Windows 7 program (this and never used).  Error on this installation was: your CPU is only good for 32 bit and Win 7 I have is a 64-bit version.  I'D RATHER INSTALL VISTA BUT need help on the error regarding the deployment engine.  Thank you, Lloyd
