Installation of Windows 7 help - HP Pavilion 2800

Hello

I'm having quite the challenge with installing Windows 7.  I have a HP Pavilion dv2800 (2842se) (Vista 64 - Bit), which required a new hard drive.  Today, I installed a new SATA 320 GB 5 400 rpm device and booted up using the Windows 7 installation CD (bought a copy of the sales at retail).

I can't past the second screen, which indicates that Setup cannot locate the correct drivers (I guess that each of them, but the first error specifically referenced the CD/DVD device driver).

I did the install in a folder of drivers that I ripped out the original machine, which had Vista.  Who has not identified.

I've rooted through forums and looked for HP, but it doesn't look like device drivers are displayed for this machine for a new installation of Windows 7 (not satisfied with this answer).

Anyone know what I can do to get the drivers for this computer (where?) and allow Windows 7 to proceed with the installation?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you

My alma mater-called... they want their degree of technology back.

I made a mistake and downloaded the x 86 version for a 64-bit machine.  I'm now enjoying the "copy windows...... expanding windows files install has screen.

I'm sure I'll run into driver problems later, but this problem is solved.  Thanks for asking the obvious questions, which led me to remember the basics.

Thank you

You are the very welcome, Stephanie.

Here is the link to the drivers you need and then below who are a link to a guide to integrate the drivers.

  • Need help with the installation of Windows XP Home on my Satellite Pro A300-1DZ

    Hi all.

I have a Satellite Pro A300-1DZ system unit, model no PSAG1E-OOFOO4EN (think they are 'o' and not '0', circle with slash through it) with WXP Pro.

I recently contracted a virus inside and as he removed, however it is not good so I want to re - install Windows XP Home edition. I backed up the computer, I have a Windows XP Home SP2 Pro edition disk and I have my product key.
I put the CD/DVD in BIOS to run 1 drive and tells me that I can boot from the CD, I press a button and it loads the CD, select the option where to install windows.

BUT! I can t go further than what windows does not detect the HD said he s not now, or whatever.

My question is this: Please can someone me step by step instructions on how to reinstall XP and a link to all the drivers I need to make it work?

    PLEEASE!

It's simple on my PC, also, please keep in mind, I am best suited for working on cars, I'm not stupid, but my calloused hands search for computers a little more difficult than Motors please not in many computer technical terms.

    Hi jeff

    Here's your solution:
    1. go to bios with F2 when you see the toshiba start screen.
    2. Select the arrow to the left using the "Advanced".
3 press down until you get to "SATA Controller Mode".
4 change, using F7/F8, Chang [AHCI] setting [compatibility].
    5. make sure the CD/DVD drive is the first to start and F10 save and exit. computer restart when you are prompted to "press any key" press a button and hey presto as before windows will start the installation, but this time you won't get windows you said:

Set up did not find Ant hard disks installed on your computer.

Make sure any drive HARD are powered on and properly connected to your computer and any hard disk related hardware configuration is correct. This may involve running a manufacturer-supplied diagnostic or Setup program.

implementation cannot continue press f3 to goto hell... uh I mean leaving the installation

And you can continue on your installation of Windows XP Home edition.

Hope I helped many other jeff's in the same boat. XD

  • Installation of Windows 7 (64 bit) on a 500-089 Pavilion

    Hello...

The computer is a HP Pavilion 500-089 with an AMD A10 CPU, Radeon graphics card, card mother MSI MS-7778, containing the chipset AMD A75 and 8 GB of RAM. The vehicle is currently Windows 8 is installed on the hard drive.

I would like to install Windows 7 (x 64) on the partition where Windows 8. I would do this while keeping my recovery and other partitions intact, just as it has been partitioned at the factory. In other words, I want to keep the GPT partition table, it came with.

I want to be sure about the BIOS settings, that I needed to change to it. My view is: 1) disable Secure Boot in the BIOS (the UEFI firmware) under Secure Boot Configuration, 2) Enable Legacy Support

Then I'll be able to start the installation of Windows 7 (64 bit) of the DVD, and will my GPT recognized and uncompromising of the installation?

I know running Windows 7 does not have any support from HP. That's why I need to keep the GPT and all partitions intact original.

For what it's worth, I would also suggest HP seriously consider adding Windows 7 to their list of operating systems supported on other computers 'Windows 8 '.  W7 is a proven operating system.

    Hello

Yes, if you meet the two steps that you mentioned before installing Windows 7, it should work fine. But owning a www.hp.com and download the necessary drivers before installing Windows 7. So that you don't have to run around to download drivers once you install Windows 7. If you have problems during the installation, you can read back the same message.

  • Installation of Windows 8 to replace Windows XP in a HP Pavilion a465c

With XP goes in the direction of the Model-T, I was wondering if the installation of Windows 8 is possible, and what I could expect and should know, if this is the choice.

    Dean, welcome to the forum.

Here's a guide that will help you in your decision to go with 8.0/8.1 Win or not.  Is there a Win 8 Upgrade Wizard in the guide.  It examines the component to see if they will be compatible.

If win 8 is not compatible, you can run the Win 7 Upgrade Advisor.

Because your computer is 10 years old, I think that Windows 7 is going to be the best option.  You can determine with the guides above, however.

  • Help the clean installation of Windows 7 Pro and using the GPO to run automatic updates and restart all night

I am trying to solve a problem that will probably require a new installation of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. The grace period ends in 3 days, and the next 30 days are final exams at the College. I have 2 licenses (and product key) of Windows 7 Pro, but my drive HARD goes wrong and I don't want to use MAK activation. I will be eventually to replace the disk, but is now bad timing.

If a reinstall is needed, I was going to ask if anyone knows how to set the strategy of perhaps a GPO where Windows is updated automatically in the background and after installing updates, 45 or 60 minutes, then restart. The goal would be to have a computer fully patched when I wake up in the morning.

    This is my plan:

Install Windows 7 Pro SP1 64 bit > Windows automatically updated and plug the Ethernet cable > define a GPO where the computer waiting for 45 to 60 minutes after installation of updates (so the msi may end in the background, and I do not interrupt the installation) > the PC will restart > more update swill be downloaded and installed > wait due to the policy of GPO before reboot > Reboot > do it until it's over. > wake up with a PC fully patched 7-9 hours later.

Is this a workable plan?, and if so, how do I define policies such as delay restarting, etc. to achieve?

The reset did not work. It would be a simple solution. I have a valid license, but I don't want to replace the HARD drive until after final exams are over, so I'll reinstall and activate. I try to achieve in the next 24 hours, so it doesn't keep me from my school work.  I must also support and will then replace my files.

Feel free to advanced used terminology. I have some experience.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

Another question: should I install a security suite before all updates being installed more than 12 hours, or wait until later? What is the level of risk?

Anyone used Ninite to automate the installation of other programs? Is how safe it?

    Thank you!

You will have to go on Support of Windows 7 forums on the following link to help solve your problem: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/category/w7itpro/

  • Pavilion 6110y: installation of Windows 7 problem (it won't)

I want to have vista 64-bit home premium for Windows7 64-bit home premium. I bought a new HD 500 GB but will not complete the installation of windows 7. It says that it cannot install on this material. Online research indicates a possible problem or sata controller mode setting (bios) driver. I need new drivers (and if yes where can I find the) or change the raid sata controller mode setting FROM ahci or ide fix it? And if drivers or settings solves the problem I will always be able to access my current hd without any problem? Thanks in advance.

I was finally able to find good information on what to do. I changed the sata controller ahci bios and after installing windows drivers the aok installation is complete. Everything works fine now with two hard drives.

  • Help to perform a new installation of Windows Vista 64-bit.

    Original title: Clean Install.

I am wanting to perform a clean installation of Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit.  I would like to install Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit.  I was told, during the custom Setup, that I could choose which bit to install.

    Hello

With Vista, you do not boot from an external drive to install it.

It is an option in Windows 7.

And they told you to contact Microsoft for support.

Microsoft does not provide support for OEM installations.

In Vista, 32 bit and 64 bit come on different DVDs.

    See you soon.

  • Cannot upgrade Windows 8 on Windows 7 PC HP Pavilion g6-2270dx

I have a problem, I just downgrade my hp pavilion windows7 .because when I format my hp (windows8) cannot format because some files are missing something like that. I need to format because I have a virus, my files on my readers always shortened flash, but when I search on google which was a menghapus virus. so. That's why I downgrade the windows8 in windows7 on hp Pavilion. so, I install the windows 7 (BOOTMode). When I go to hp site, looking for an installer for my mobile, theres no available software/installer for windows 7. It's only for windows 8 and windows 8.1 I need to make windows 8 again to my laptop works well, 2 of my usb ports do not work. need help please )

It seems that if you do not have a recovery media. You can order the HP through this web document recovery media. If you have retrieve media, now would be a good time to use it to find your laptop in its delivered State. After recovery buy a good antivuirus such as ESET or Norton Internet protection solution in order to avoid the same problem of past that has brought here.

The reason that two of your ports are not is likely to be because the USB 3.0 SuperSpeed controller software must be reinstalled. There is no driver software available to do this for Windows 7 on HP support web portal.

  • Install Windows 7 on formatted Pavilion dv7-7052sw

    Hello world

A week ago, I bought the HP Pavilion dv7-7052sw.

It came with Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium edition.

I wanted to customize for my personal needs, change partitions etc...

    So I formatted it.

I looked at the new installation of Windows 7 64 bit BOX.

Everything goes well until the final step, installation restarts and fails on "Finish Installation" screen because

system is unable to start services on my computer and I have to restart the instalation.

    I tried 3 times.

    I did not create a backup/restore disc.

What is the problem? It's my first HP laptop and I don't expect problems like that.

Installation disc that I use works fine on my old laptop.

Need help please, I don't know what to do now...

Please see 'Windows Setup cannot configure Windows on hardware on this computer' Setup on a Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 computer error for a possible cause of your problem.

Installation from a Windows 7 SP1 disc or a USB flash drive should fix this for you. Please see "how to install Windows 7 without the disc" to get instructions on how to download Windows 7 SP1, create the installation media and install Windows 7 SP1 by using the 25 digit product key from the COA Microsoft on your computer.

Please click the White Star of KUDOS to show your appreciation
