  I installed PS Financials 9.1 on the OEL5.5 servers. I have two separate computers for the database and the application server. I got to the part of the creation of the PeopleSoft database (I hope not to miss something). This, however, is where I get confused. I'm supposed to use the PeopleSoft database Configuration utility in PS_HOME, but if I understand correctly, it must be run on the database server? What happens if the PS_HOME and the database are on two separate computers?
  
  When you run the utility I'm invited to paths as ORACLE_HOME - no problem, since I can point to the customer of db AppServer House and bin.
  Then he asks the oracle initialization files - here, I am confused, there is no side init file AppServer. Am I supposed to just copy the files from my application server PS_HOME to the database machine and run it from there?

  PS a little hiking, PeopelSoft is supposed to be a n-tier architecture, then why the documentation basically assume everything is installed on the same computer? There is a similar problem with the installation of the workstation to a unix server, the files do not simply exist lol.

  If you plan to use the database wizard configuration, you do not have the choice, you need to install Peopletools and Application on the database server (even if you plan to use another physical server for host appserver).   In your case, which had much better to create the database manually, I mean install Peopletools/app/Oracle client on your application server, install the software on your server of db Oracle server, and then copy the necessary scripts of the first on the second server and run them from there.

  I have a working version of reflow, but creative cloud App wants to install a new version (so not the application itself). When I click the button install in the installer of creative cloud, I get the following error:

• Universal Installer confusion

  I'll put up a new Windows 7 computer. I installed VS 2008. I then installed Oracle Express (for testing purposes before they hit the real database). Installed in the C:\oraclexe\app (the default location).
  
  I then install ODT. When the Universal Installer (version 11.2.0.2.0) screen comes up, I click on "Installed products" and he says "There is no installed products" - even after a clean reboot. When I continue, he now wants to install in C:\app\ < username > \product\11.2.0\client_1 ODT files.
  
  Why can I use the Setup program universal installation of a program, and the next time I use it, he knows nothing of the first installation?
  
  In addition, why is each module Oracle wants to install in a totally different place than others? Some want a folder in C:, others in the c:\App\... and still others in the C:\users\ < username > \appdata, etc.. ?

  XE uses install installshield based that does not use the Universal Installer. If you run the Universal Installer, it will not know about it

  Oracle Universal Installer will offer to create a "new oracle home" (new directory) for products that do not share the common files. This is particularly important for major version - 11.2, 11.1 changes, etc. 10.2.

  To add to the complexity, there is also what is called a plant 'XCOPY' (see the download page ODAC) which allows developers to include ODP.NET in their own facility, once again this will not recognized the Universal Installer. But it's very powerful for deployment time scenarios.

• PSE 8 Mac Installation Confusion

  Supposedly, if we jump into the disc of PSE 8 we idiotproof instructions to follow instructions.  However, we have an iMac that has only a few months, so it should work correctly with PSE 8.  When we jumped in the disc, nothing happened.  There is a drive on the screen icon, but no window doesn't open, no installation instructions came, not nothing.  By clicking on the icon of the disk would open a window.  The readme it says follow the instructions that came after inserting the disc, and since no instructions came, it was no help.  The only thing that seems to work is that I tried dragging the folder in the applications folder.  Then I clicked on PSE 8 in the applications folder and then ran a setup routine.  It seems to have installed, even if I have no idea if it installed correctly.  We do not have the Mac a long time ago, and I haven't used a Mac since system 7 has been around, so the Leopard/Snow Leopard installation routine is different and somewhat familiar, but I saw enough to know that no other application does that we have installed as PSE 8 did.  Have we done something wrong, or is this really how PSE 8 installs?

• Confused in what I need [ESXi Embedded; ESX Installable; ESX 3.5]

  I read the difference between ESXi and ESX and it was something citing on linux required for ESX. Does this mean that my whitebox will need Linux installed before that I could install ESX?

  ESXi is barebone architecture, which means, I'll lose admin capabilities?

• Confusing situation of installation XP/Win7starter/Win7proUpgrade

  I have two computers that are broken (even if both still bootable as any).  Between the two of them, I have the following licenses:

  Windows 7 Starter
  Windows 7 Pro upgrade

  Desktop computer:
  Windows XP Pro

  I ordered a new office of parts to build a new machine and I would like to install Windows 7 Pro on this subject.  I have easy access to my key for Win7Pro Upgrade.

  However, I see two problems:

  1. the label with the key of Windows 7 Starter on the netbook (which I assume is my best option to upgrade to Windows 7 Pro) has long disappeared from the illegibility.  Is there a way to get this key?

  2. the Netbook didn't come with a disc to boot from Windows 7 Starter and Pro 7 license, I own was through the agreement of the student at the time and didn't come with an installation disc either.  How can I install Windows 7 with no installation media?  Is it possible to acquire a disc for Win7 Starter (when I upgraded to 7 that it was made automatically in windows)

  I also have the key XP and XP install disk, so if I have to consider another method, he could understand that.

  Once this new machine is operational, I do not plan on continuing with previous computers.

  The Starter version is an OEM version and can not be installed / activated on another motherboard. So that path to use / install your Windows 7 Pro update is not viable.

  If your Windows XP product is the 'Full' version, it can be used as base for the upgrade to Windows 7 on your PC, newly built.

  1. can I insert the XP key for installation without key to Windows 7 in order to bypass the need to install Windows XP (or is there a way to do this via the call from Microsoft, or something like?)
  2. the installation disc for XP is a 32-bit, is there an iso file available for Windows XP 64-bit, I can go through (if it is necessary).
  3. is it different between a code of 32-bit windows and 64 bits a?  In fact, I'm sure that the upgrade of Windows 7 I have is 64-bit.  This poses difficulties for me?

  Hi all

  I intend to install Database to practice the PSU July so, what version I should install 11g? Here I can see the Group of hotfixes for 11.2.0.2 and 11.2.0.3, but in the oracle site, I see the database for 11.2.0.1 software .my question is

  (1) I need to install 11.2.0.1 and apply the Group of hotfixes?

  (2) If, then I don't find 11.2.0.1 group of hotfixes so I have to do?

  From 11.2.0.2, patchsets are installs complete, so you can install 11.2.0.2, 11.2.0.3 etc. directly.

• Confused about the use of Fusion and boot directly to Windows via Bootcamp?  I thought that my installs would be synchronized?

  Recently, I installed Win 7 64 Ultimate using Bootcamp on my iMac 27 inches in 2010. It wasn't a problem. I then install Fusion 3.1 and import my install of Win 7 Bootcamp. Everything went well. I am using version VM to work related things which requires Windows and did not start directly into Windows for the first time, I installed and applied all the updates.

  Anyway, today I wanted to start Windows to the demo of a game. No much, that the installation of Windows seems work fine. But, I expected to see all applications and files installed there is just the way I did in the virtual machine. I thought they were basically the same facility and would be fully synchronized, but they are not.

  I'm doing something wrong or is it the way it is supposed to work?

  Is it possible to make two "versions" be the same whether in the machine virtual or kick directly?

  Because you 'imported' you see the expected behavior because an import is completely separate and apart and not linked to the original.

  On the other hand had you just clicked the button Start Up on Boot Camp entry into the library Virtual Machine, then you'd be using native installation as a VM.  However, a word of warning is in order that WPA (Windows Product Activation) can be problematic, Microsoft may require you to have two separate licenses and this is beyond the control of VMware when VMware Tools fails to control who after he activated in each environment.

  vCenter isn't 64-bit, it supports 64 - bit OS.  Hence the need for the 32-bit DSN.

• Confusion of updates and clean installation

  I finally decided to reload my laptop Toshiba, after only 4 years of use by using the original recovery disk. This means pre SP1. Updated Windows offer then another 107 updates after the update of the tool update (?) none of them are Sp1.
