  I am following the guide of upgrade of windows 8 HP (custom installation)

  I have the most recent bios for my laptop.

  I downloaded windows 8 pro and burned it to a dvd.

  When I put the dvd into the laptop and go to boot options there is no option as "internal drive cd/dvd rom ' who was supposed to be there according to the Hp upgrade guide.

  all I see is the following:

  as you can see, the UEFI boot options are missing.

  I would be very grateful if someone can help me with this problem.

  first of all, I want to thank you for all your help in the matter, I had.

  I am pleased to post that the problem has been resolved.

  Solution (UEFI G6-2005AX Windows 8 installation):

  It's pretty simple actually.

  On this forum I found someone with the same problem, but a different model.

  the problem where there is no CD/DVD drive BOOT option in the start menu is not resolved, but an alternative boot USB where one gets the boot option .

  procedure: copy the contents of the DVD to a USB drive and boot from USB in startup option.

  so problem solved!

• HP Simplepass identity protection re-installation help!

  Recently, I replaced a HARD with a new SSD drive in my Hp Pavilion dm4 1265dx and did a re-installation of windows.  I have already downloaded and installed most of the required drivers, but I'm having a hard time trying to find and install the Hp Simple pass identity/digital scanner.

  Is any way to re - install Hp simple pass without having to pay?  Please and thank you

  It's the flavor of the Digital Persona of HP SimplePass.  Acorrding I can find, it's the kind of security software that you need to use this computer.

  Export the data base DP / make a backup:

  Start/Open Digital Persona > scan your fingerprint to open > online accounts > Manage >

  See import and export > Select export

  > Export data online from this computer account >

  Scan your fingerprint > type your password >

  Navigate to your folder selected > type a name > Finish

  Protect the export file.  Re-export on a regular basis.  If you need to reinstall your software, you will be able to use that file to restore your passwords.

• FMS 4.5 Installation Help (not found libcap)

  I try to install FMS 4.5 on Fedora 15 x 64 server. I downloaded the 4.5 Development Server fms and extract the files.

  Now, when I type the command:

  . / installFMS

  I get an error message that says:

  ERROR: A package perl, libcap, is not found on your RedHat Linux x86_64.

  If please install the perl package and re-run the installation program Adobe Flash Media Server.

  However, when I try to install this package using the following command:

  yum-y install libcap

  I get a message saying that it is already installed:

  Loaded extensions: fastestmirror, last, presto, refresh-packagekit

  Loading speeds from cached hostfile mirror

  * fedora: ftp.nluug.nl

  * Update: ftp.nluug.nl

  Setting up installation

  The package libcap - 2.22 - 1.fc15.x86_64 already installed and the latest version

  Nothing to do

  So I don't know how to fix this... FMS can not see this lib for some reason any.

  Thanks for your reply Nikhil.

  After further investigation, it seems that Fedora is not a good platform to run FMS on. That's the problem here!

  Fedora worked great for me when I used FMS 3.5.1 but all other later versions do not work (as explained above).

  Even Fedora works FMS 4.0, but none of its updates.

  Finally Fedora x 64 does not work FMS 4.5 at all (as explained above).

  When I went to 5.7 CentOS, everything worked like charm, from the first time, without any troubles what so ever.

  I'm not an expert in Linux... but I thought that Fedora was based on Redhat... and I thought that all these different flavors of Linux are all built on the same infrastructure (or almost)... so it sounded strange to me why it would not work on Fedora but would be on CentOs... It sounded even stranged why FMS 3.5.1 would work on Fedora but not FMS 3.5.7.

• MX7 Installer Help please

  I installed ColdFusion MX7 Enterprise on my server Unix of Fedora Core 4 (Plesk 8). It is installed in the directory deafult/opt/coldfusionmx7/and the installation went well.
  
  To access my Admin Panel, I was told to go to the next http://72.35.76.29:8500/CFIDE/administrator/login.cfm where ip address is the address of my server. Also told me to try http://72.35.76.29/CFIDE/administrator/login.cfm without the port, because it needed only the port number for a debian installation which is not my case, I have a Unix on Fedora Core 4 installation.
  
  As you can see the administrator Panel does not come to the top. I do not know how to access the control panel and need help, I tried everything.
  
  I have configured plesk, he sees the ColdFusion and works but there is no way for me to access the admin panel which in turn does not help me a lot. Please help... What do I do?

  Try to access to http://servername:8500/cfide/administrator/index.cfm. I think that by default plesk does not alter the httpd.conf file to add index.cfm as default file for the directory.

  If you have the recovery disks, they should include your operating system (Vista) and all the drivers and programs provided with your computer. He must restore it to the way it was when you bought it originally.

• Installer Help folder inside %Program Files% permissions

  So, I just created an installer on my Win7 machine, and I'm running into problems.

  Let's call my request "MyApplication.exe".

  The application is installed in "C:\Program Files\MyApplication"... which is great.  It also creates a couple subdirectories inside this folder that my application will use.  For example:

  C:\Program Files\MyApplication\Data

  C:\Program Files\MyApplication\Log

  My EXE needs create files and write to these subdirectories.

  The problem is that after installing, my EXE has no permission to write to these files.  I think that by default, Win7 Program Files read-only for average users.

  Is there a way that my installer can allow the files 'Data' and 'Log' only during installation?

  Selections and change the selections with Photoshop tools, filters, settings etc. Work on layers.

• Creative cloud updated Windows - error 81 - Checked and no other program running - 8.1 64-bit installation - help please

  I try to update creative cloud and am getting an error 81 - Installer already running.

  I checked that no other installer is running (or the application of the CC)

  I'm trying to install the client 11g ODI on the windows machine.
