  • Solution: The USB floppy drive is not recognized during installation of XP of RAID

    Hello

This Solution is for notebooks Qosmio with RAID driver during (manual installation of windows)

I found the Solution to this problem,

[When you install Microsoft Windows XP by using a floppy drive USB on a player who]
requires a driver during the installation, the USB floppy drive is not recognized in all
installation. When Windows XP searches the driver of the second time, he will not be able to see
the floppy USB drive drive and prompts the user for the driver (RAID) again.
The installation will never reach this point. ]

    Solution:

This is a limitation of Microsoft, the Floppy Drive are do not appear in the file Windows 'txtsetup.sif.

Simply change the floppy drive in another brand and avoid Usb 2.0 external Usb floppy plus old 1 Try
Also note the back of drive sometimes they write (no bootable) avoid this also

When I try to install window 7 ultimate my Windows vista ultimate, the spectacle of the window the following error message "a required CD/DVD device driver is missing. Roman Si the windows installation media is in the drive, you can remove it for this step. "I have the"TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS - L632H ATA Device"CD/DVD-ROM drive, and and it come preinstalled with no driver disk.  So is there a solution to the problem?

You could try to copy the contents of the DVD to a folder on your hard drive. Then start the installation from there.

(I've seen a post or two during the upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit of Vista 32 bit). Could just be a funky DVDROM drive problem. Copy of the files should ignore the issue.

    I hope this helps!

  • Re-installation of 98. floppy drive and the CD Player do not work

    Hello
I loaded 98 in our 3410 CT. 98 is installed, but the system has not picked up on our floppy (usb) and our cd. I know I have to get the drivers here, but how? The cd will not work because it has no driver present as is the case for the floppy drive. The boring bit, is that I have the driver on a separate disk. Any body has any suggestions.

    Hello

I'm not 100% sure here, but I think you can resolve your situation by enabling legacy mode USB FDD in BIOS (if not already done), and then boot from a drive to floppy BACK/Win9X and then copy the drivers to the HARD disk.

    Try this:

-Turn on your 3480 but look out for the Toshiba logo!
-When you see the logo very quickly press the ESC key several times (normally just 1 time will do, but that's if you know just WHEN to press it).
-You will receive a message saying PRESS F1 key... Do this.
-You are now in the BIOS. Look for a setting that says something like "Legacy USB FDD mode". Set it to "Enabled".
-Also look around to make sure that the boot priority is set to FDD as first boot-unit.
-Save the settings by pressing END, then answer Yes to the question "are you '.
-To get a bootable BACK / Win9X floppy. Insert into the disk drive and start the machine from him.
-Now manually copy the floppy drivers (unzip it first!) the floppy drive in a temporary directory on the HARD drive.
-Copy the drivers (2 versions exist) and the driver on the CD while you're there.
-Reboot, start Windows and enter the Devicemanager to update the missing drivers from the temp directory.

    TADA!

    Good luck!

  • Installation of floppy drive in Dimension E520

My E520 is just over a year, and I try to add a floppy drive (I initially opted for media player instead). I tried first to acquire a Sony USB external disk, but it was never recognized by my XP Pro operating system. I gave up on that and ordered an Ultra combo/floppy drive drive to install internally. (It has less slots than my Dell support player, but there at least those that I need).

Media players are recognized and letters assigned, but this isn't the floppy drive (normally A :). I use a cable layer disk between the connector card mother floppy drive and the floppy connector internal. (Both ends of the cable are granted, it seems that they cannot be hung back). I got to the top of the CONFIGURATION screen and set the INTERNAL floppy drive. After without drive letter has been assigned in the Windows Explorer, I brought by Device Manager and there are registrations for a floppy disk controller and the floppy drive - and both are listed as working properly. I turned to the top an old internal floppy (not certain it works) and a cable and tried hanging upwards with different configurations, but nothing works. I put a bootable floppy diskette drives in the old (and new) to see if not more, has been recognized at the start, but they were not. (NOTE: the light stays select drive turned on full time, which I remember with previous systems indicate a cable reversed - I've considered filing down the button on the drive connector plastic, just so that I could turn the tide for a test). I do not remember whether this difficult get a floppy drive to work on my other PC! Any suggestions or advice will be greatly appreciated.

  • PROTECTED P4000 - update the BIOS without a floppy drive

    Hello

I have a P4000 protégé who, I believe, was initially purchased without floppy drive. Now that I'm the Win XP operating system upgrade I need to install more memory, and like many other forum members point out it will not work without a BIOS update.

However the BIOS available on the site is for the installation of Tranditional only and requires a floppy drive (which I did not). Is it possible to obtain a version that runs under Windows, or find another way to start the traditional installation? The site seems to suggest that the installation of Windows is favored, but the software is not provided.

    Thank you.

    Hello Sir

As much as I know upgrade memory is not dependent on the latest version of the BIOS, and if you use compatible module there are not any problem. Anyway, I'm not 100% sure but I think you can do the BIOS update using the SD card.

If you have the time and opportunities please try it and let us know if it works.

By the way: all the updates to the BIOS are on the Toshiba download page and there are no other versions.

    Good bye

  • Re: Satellite P200 - installation of XP and SATA driver

    Hi guys

    I'm new to the forum.

I know there are already 100 topics on installing XP on a Toshiba Satellite P200 and believe me I have lived all of them, but I'm still fighting trying to install XP.

I will describe the steps I've been through so if someone could tell me where I'm wrong or try something other way out then let me know:

I went to the following site to download Intel Matrix Storage Manager:
    http://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Filter_Results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2101&OS FullName = Windows * + XP + Professional & lang = eng & strOSs = 44 & submit = Go %21

    First of all, I downloaded
    32-bit floppy Configuration utility
    (F6flpy3287)

Now the first download did not contain an exe file, so I've been to unzip and copy the files on my floppy drive. I inserted my XP SP3 CD and rebooted the laptop, when XP installs the Setup files, I pressed F6 (that she mentions at the bottom of the screen) after installation of the files, that it says something like that couldn't detect the drivers and press S to select one of the pilots in total there are 4 riders, I chose all alone (so did 4 facilities in total) , but it keeps giving the same error.

The error itself says something like the hard drive is not detected and to be honest its make me lose the will to live because I spent hours trying to figure this out.

As there are two managers matrix downloads I tried the other as well:

32-bit floppy Configuration Utility for Intel Matrix Storage Manager version 5.5.0.1035
    (F6flpy32)

This one was an exe file, I have attached my USB floppy drive ran the exe file that has copied the files and I tried to choose once again each of the 4 drivers the entire installation, but it says the same thing no hard drive detected.

Someone help me please, I would really appreciate it.

    Thank you

To be honest, here are really quite subject to this subject and enough descriptions how to do this please, read it.

I think the simplest is that you download the storage on the Toshiba site manager.
Then, you can use nLite to integrate the driver on the CD.
After that, you must also start the CD and then the HARD drive is detected (you don't need to press F6 to load the driver.

  • How to install the raid without floppy drive drivers

I am building my own computer and I want to run Win XP Pro SP3 and Windows 7 64-bit.  The only reason why I'm eager to keep XP is that several of my old programs that I use, are not compatible with Windows 7.  I know that XP is sometimes "fussy" about installation on SATA disks and requires the F6 install drivers.  The motherboard that I use does not support floppy drive.

    Motherboard.  ASUS P8Z68-V LX

    Processor: INTEL: i5 - 2500K

Hard drive: Western Digital - Caviar Black 750 GB WD7502AAEX

I saw a couple of internal and external USB floppy drives, but I'm not sure that they will work the first time during installation.

    Any suggestion?

  • How to install SATA if G550 does not have a floppy drive

    Hello

I tried to follow the steps on the installation of the SATA driver on this link

    http://consumersupport.Lenovo.com/OT/en/DriversDownLoads/drivers_show_1412.html

«"Copy the files on a floppy disk, and then insert the disk on a floppy drive (attached to the laptop).»» »

G550 is not a floppy drive, then how do I install it

    Yours,

    Mohamed

I did not understand what you say, but the "install.cmd" is the thing that do the work which is exactly my point of view and why I said you need to follow the exact steps. Therefore change before BIOS run install.cmd will give you a blue screen and you will not be able to start until you change the BIOS setting in compatibility again mode.

    Download this one instead:

    http://consumersupport.Lenovo.com/OT/en/driversdownloads/drivers_show_1687.html

    1. extract and run "install.cmd".

    2. restart the computer and enter the BIOS before trying to restart Windows

    3. change in AHCI in the BIOS mode

4 Save and exit the BIOS, and then start Windows

    5. enter in Device Manager and choose the Intel SATA controller and select put to update driver. Point to the "C:\DRIVERS\WIN\IMSM" file for the driver.

    6. restart again and everything should work in AHCI mode

  • Installation of a dual boot for XP on a Vista - XP installation computer forget the SATA drive after restart required #1

    Hello

I'm trying to set up a dual-boot XPpro on my Vista machine.  I found the instructions detailed at various locations.  I prepared a score of 30G on my SATA drive and booted from my XPpro and XPpro (SP2) retail drives.  The score is quite small because I have only use for some applications.

I have the following problem and I wonder if anyone can help.  The disk and partition is by my SP2 disc, but it's ok that BONE is not used on any other machine.

I can choose the new partition as the location for the new installation of XP.

Installation gets to the point where the first reboot is required, then at startup, I'm stuck on the option 'press any key to boot from the CD-ROM.  I assume that the reader is not detected.  If I try to start from scratch, I get the warning that the new partition already has an operating system on it, but I can reformat and move forward, then arrive at the startup problem re.

There is no XP drivers for my Board, but I can not install them because they are on CD and the only option to load the specific drivers in the first part of install required has a diskette is in the drive, and of course I don't have a floppy drive.

I then use the Startup Repair in Vista I can't move to the stage where XP is installed in fact correctly.

    Any help very welcome!

    Hello

I made a disc of slipstream with nLite as suggested, my sata drivers included but still could not circumvent this problem.  Installation kept insisting that they had to come from A:

Rather than taking the box to bits I read from the link posted by Michael Murphy, once again and found the answer of Taydius on 250/1 posts.

    http://www.syschat.com/dual-boot-Vista-XP-Vista-already-26-1946.html

Problem solved by installing EasyBCD in Vista, it points to the new partition with the inaccessible XP and reboot and selection, installation on board as usual.

    Dual boot now works fine.

    Thanks for the help!
