Installation of Applications on the Blackberry via desktop software

Hi all

I'm a beginner and it is difficult to download my application on a blackberry phone (I tried the torch and "BOLD" phones) via the desktop software so that I can test it on the phone. I followed the tutorial on:http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Desktop-Software-for-PC/Guide-to-installing-applications-on-t... but I get errors when I try to import files (files .alx and .cod files generate errors) and I don't know if the article is obsolete because it refers to Desktop Manager and Application Loader, which I assume is older versions of software.

The steps that follow are:

(1) connect my bb via the usb phone and open the desktop software

(2) once connected, click on the Applications tab

3) click Import files

(4) search for the actual file (tried with files .alx and .cod files) on my filesystem (my computer)

(5) and I select open to import the file (tried the .alx and .cod files also)

Error message is: "there was an error importing files. No additional applications can be found. "Your file may contain applications that already exist in the list of applications, are not compatible for your device or errors.

I certainly know that the application has no errors because it's the standard helloworldtheme that comes with the plugin for eclipse bb. I also know that the application does not already exist in my application list. I don't know how to check if the application is compatible with my device, but I have a feeling that is not the problem.

I'm surprised how hard something that seems so simple doesn't seem to work.

I would appreciate any help or someone who can point me in the right direction to do so.

Thanks in advance...

I found the solution and no thanks to the community does not help this.

Pls contact me for the solution if you have the same problem

  • Interaction with the BlackBerry via USB

This may be the wrong forum for this question, and if so, please point me to one that is more appropriate, because it doesn't seem to be a forum of developers on this segment of use cases.

Is there a material that interacts with the BlackBerry through the USB connection?  The BlackBerry Desktop Manager can make quite a range of things with the BlackBerry via a USB connection.  None of this is publicly available or documented?  If this isn't the case, it is fine, please tell me if I can stop looking in vain for him.

There was an example of code, packed with JDE 4.1, I think, who communicates with the BlackBerry via USB using BBDevMgr as a resource com  There is a lack of documentation of this interface and its capabilities and limitations.  It is still supported?  If so, where can I find the documentation for it?

    Thank you for your time.

It is still supported.  You can find the documentation in the "use USB or serial port connections" section of the BlackBerry Java development environment development Guide found here:

    Hello

I suggest you according to the question in this forum and check if that helps:

    It will be useful.

  • RIM blackBerry smartphones must strengthen the strategy of desktop software preconfigured for keep/gain of market share.

Since there is no other way to communicate with the RIM on the strategy, let's go. CEO Jim Basillie should consider the following enhancements to the product immediately.

    (1) implement a feature in BlackBerry Desktop Software (BB DD) that allows a laptop/Netbook/tablet computer be used as a supersized BB user interface. BB ball should act as a pointing to the laptop/Netbook/tablet computer device (without disabling other native pointing devices).

    (2) enable tethering for the function of modem IP via WiFi from the laptop/Netbook/tablet computer and the BB (not just cable USB or Bluetooth).

    3) ensure that the Citrix product Receiver performs well in three modes:

    1. Running on the BB
    2. Running on the BB, but using the BB DS supersized BB user interface
    3. Running on the laptop/Netbook/Tablet computer with the BB in mode Modem IP

    4) ensure that the touch BB models can act as a mouse for the Citrix Receiver (just like the combination of the iPhone/iPad).

    (5) constitute a new operation mode/indicator (LED) which is visible on board aircraft which indicates that the cellular radio has been disabled so that the BB can be used in flight while keeping the Bluetooth or WiFi

    (6) do NOT invest in the implementation of a fellow Viewer/tablet/netbook. Let others beat their brains in commodity markets. Focus on fresh if possible software.

Probably, your notes here will not be read by the ON-BOARD staff.

  • Problem with the installation of application using the OTA of the Tomcat server

    Hello

I want to install my server application Tomcat suppose that here is the link to the example

    http://121.00.00.00:8080 / Web JSP project/Myapp.jad

as he tried the link above in the Blackberry browser I get java.io.IOException as myapp - 1.cod not found...

I placed the .jar, .jad, .cod in the folder web in the netbeans IDE and deployed in normal Office Internet explore if I click on the file link at the above address .jad opens for download where as Blackberry browser, I get an exception...

can someone tell me how can I get it in the browser blackberry also...

    Kind regards

    Kiran

You must only place a .jad and .cod on the server.

However if .cod exceeds 64 k, it becomes an archive, you'll need to extract all the separate .cod files and place them in the same folder as the original .cod

For example, you have MyApp.cod. Decompress and extract MyApp - 1.cod, MyApp - 2.cod

  • Hide the Application in the management of the applications in the Blackberry

I want to hide my Application in the management of Blackberry applications.

    Is this possible?

    How can I achieve this?

I guess you mean that when the user goes to the Option of Application Management on the device, he or she will not see your app in the list?

If so, then the answer is it is not possible to hide your app in the list.

No one knows where to look for the new option added by this example?

Thanks Mark. That makes perfect sense as the mail app needs to retrieve incoming messages at any time.

In the menu, I also lost my icon to respond to text messages

    Someone please help?

On your home screen, press Menu > SHOW ALL and make these icons have been hidden, or accidentally moved to a folder. Check them all.

If still nothing, go to options > advanced > Houst Routing Table > Menu > register.

With the BlackBerry device powered time, remove battery for a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to restart.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Desktop Software - 8310 - true Newbie Question - Contact synchronization

I did some research but I'm unable to find the contacts for my office management software.  I'm a BB user first. I had a palm a few years ago and I could change my details on my desk and then synchronize my palm device.  Is it possible to do with BB?

It's for personal use, so I have BES.  I downloaded the Desktop Manager, but I have no application to synchronize.  I had all my contacts from my phone last imported into the BB and want to change the information.  I was hoping I could do that to my office and the synchronization with the BB instead of doing everything on my BB keyboard.

    Any thoughts?

The BlackBerry Desktop Manager is not like the Palm software that you do not change the information directly in the Desktop Manager software. You will need to have an organizer like Microsoft Outlook when you change your contacts, then you can use the Desktop Manager to sync module to synchronize information from Outlook to the BlackBerry.

  • The blackBerry Smartphone Reload software: 552 (no answer, bb not detected when connected to pc)

Nickolai, Hello and welcome to the Support Forums of community BlackBerry.com.

1 have you done a recent backup of your Blackberry using the BlackBerry Desktop Software?

    2. If you pictures are stored on the card, you will be not should not lose them. Do you know?

    3. you don't say if you have, but that it has first: perform a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for about five minutes and then reinsert the battery to restart. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most defects and errors of operating system, and you will lose any data on the device doing so.

    4. If after the reboot, you still have the 552 error, you must make the device on the wiping and reloading. I posted the instructions below on how to fix this error and may or may not remove and delete your contacts.

    (1) make sure that you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    (2) on your PC, go to start > run and copy and paste the following line exactly (i.e. with quotation marks):

    'c:\program files\common research in motion\apploader\loader.exe' /nojvm

    (3) the Application Loader Wizard will appear - click on "next".
    (4) in the ' connection: ' drop-down menu, you should see "USB - PIN: UNKNOWN". Click on the button "next".
    (5) you should see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Press Next and finish, and that you are well on your way to get your Blackberry to life. Just unplug and let the process finish completely.

NOTE: If you do not display the list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead to see the message "the Blackberry Desktop Software has no Blackberry Device Software for the device you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator', then you must download the Blackberry operating system for your support and your device.
    http://www.BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate type of carrier and network, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the steps above again and you should be on the right track.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Desktop Software - HELP! It syncs more

After updating the software of office about a month ago I am more able to synchronize Organizer data. It worked wonderfully well before this, but I can't seem to find a link or site for the previous version of the software download. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the new software without success. I have reset the settings several times but without success. I connect the phone (torch 9860) to the computer and open the software. I put it on auto-sync and synchronize dialog box appears for a split second, then disappears. At this point, there has been no synchronization. I then click on the "sync button" bottom right of the screen and the Synchronization dialog box.

Photos & video can be synchronized but not data. I left it like that for hours but nothing happens. The only way I can close it is CTRL + ALT + DELETE and close it through Task Manager.

I'm doing something wrong? Can anyone help? It's bugged the hell out of me as it was working perfectly before. Is this the right place to ask this question because I'm having no luck elsewhere.

    Bravo!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Desktop Software v6.1.0 B38 (Multilanguage) - works in Windows 7 [64 Bit].

    A working solution!

I tried many links with the foregoing that other people have found and I have always come with the message "Desktop Manager is not working - Windows is looking for a solution."  Finally I found one that works without having to adjust all the settings on your PC or to uninstall other programs.

I am with O2 UK and done a search on Google for Blackberry Desktop Manager for O2 [try the same with the name of your own service provider].  After following a number of sites, I ended up on a page of RIM that I had not seen before which gave me a drop-down list of options for Windows and MAC OS and all handsets Blackberry Desktop Manager.  I clicked on the Windows operating system and got the attached link

    https://swdownloads.BlackBerry.com/downloads/contactFormPreload.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB06...

It loaded OK and found and installed my Bold 9700.   I've set up and ran configuration 2 lanes and normal service resumed!

I recommend to download and use Revo Uninstaller, as it seems to give you a clean uninstall of programs, the registry keys and redundant files that any uninstall.

    Happy syncing!
