  • I have 14 installs Visual C++ and want to free up space. Installs the end ++ 2005 to remove once installed 2008 installs

I am running Windows 7, 64-bit on my laptop. There are 14 install separate Visual c++ on my laptop. About half are 2005 and the rest were dated 2008. Really, I don't know what Visual C++ is or does, but why do I need 14 of these samples of hard drive space. I want to free up space on my drive and I was wondering if the older 2005 those can be deleted if there are 2008 installed or is there a way to get 1 install that would allow me to uninstall the 14 I.

    Thanks in advance

    Rob

The entries in programs and features are more than one folder which updates have been applied as an indication that multiple versions are installed. Only the most recent version of 2005 and 2008 will be in the Program Files folder.

Redistributable Visual C++ are required to run applications developed in Microsoft Visual C++. The application may not work properly unless the version of the Visual C++ Redistributable corresponding to the version of Visual Studio it was developed with is installed. Uninstall the redistributable files will break programs that run on your computer.

If you want to order you can uninstall them from the control panel and then install the latest versions of the redistributable from the links here:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2019667

However, these files are tiny. Uninstalling them not even would make a difference to the decimal you free up space.

  • Try to install autocad architecture 2012and get 1603 error log.

I have Vista 64-bit with Service pack two. I'm having a problem when trying to install autocad architecture 2012. The installation will fail and the error log indicates Visual C++ 2008 has begun and then abandoned... error 1603. My continuous automatic Windows Update Service update two pack 1 updates and when I check the history they have been successfully updated each time. I feel that I need an update for Visual C++ 2008 and service pack update is noted as successful. I uninstalled all such files as suggested by autodesk and autodesk products. Then redownloaded and tried to install. Failed every time. A friend had the same problems and after Vista update, hers is a 32-bit system... She redown loaded Autocad and installed. Are there updates for service pack 2 because I noticed are updated to service Pack 1. This program is my lively hood! I tried to install 2011 also failed. The 2009 version worked fine, but I uninstalled it he's trying to upgrade. My system is too qualified to manage the program. Thanks Cat

I suggest you try the steps in the following articles (one by one) and check.

  • Vista Business 64-Bit with AutoCAD 2009 does not seem to use all 8 GB of RAM available.

A workstation newly built (S5000XVN Intel / Xeon / 8 GB RAM / 2 GB RAM video) with Windows Vista Business 64-bit is used with AutoCAD 2009 (64-bit).  The workstation hangs under stress, apparently because not enough RAM is available.  ("Stress" is "Turning entirely made of a certain complexity 3D drawings")

The Task Manager / Performance tab indicates never to use RAM above about 3.25 GB, even if ten or more concurrent applications are loaded, including IE 8 (6 graphically heavy windows) and AutoCAD with 6 or more complex drawings open at the same time.

There are two issues, I think:
    1. in the event that a busy workstation indicate use RAM above the 32-old bit of 3.2 GB limit?
2 are there MS Windows Vista settings that are necessary to ensure the use of RAM available?

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the reply.

I studied the installation of AutoCAD 2009.  It's actually the 64-bit version that is installed, and the Task Manager reports it as a 64-bit application when it runs.  (In other words, it is not marked as a 32 bit application.)

I must admit that I no longer believe that the machine is running out of resources or do not use all the resources available to it.  We tested the machine by throwing 18 complex, fully rendering the 3D drawings within the Academy, in addition to two cases of IE 8, three instances of Explorer Windows and MS Windows Mail.  Use of the RAM did climb, reaching finally the 4.06 GB, clearly indicating that the 32-bit 3.2 GB limit has been exceeded.  It seems that just drawings don't take up that much RAM.  BTW, there was no increase in the paging activity that I could see.

However, the application does not seem to be frozen or looping when the client attempted to turn one of the drawings.  The CPU on the two wires (Xeon processor) usage increased to 55% and remained there. the State of the process, as reported by the task manager went to "Not responding" and stayed there; and the display of the image froze on an empty workspace, with a three seconds flash drawing on every 20 seconds.

So: It now seems that there is a problem with AutoCAD, not a Vista problem.  I would appreciate comments, however, if you think that this analysis is wrong, incomplete or based on wrong assumptions.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Unable to install Autocad 2000

installation of autocad 2000 Windows 7

Recently, I've upgraded to windows 7. AutoCAD 2000 worked fine in windows xp. But now I can't install autocad 2000. Kindly tell me how to install autocad 2000 Windows 7.

    Hello Atanu_c,

If the program is not compatible, then you try to install and run the program in compatibility mode.

    Use the following steps:

    (1) right click on the program

    2) click Properties

    3) click on the Compatibility tab

    (4) select run this program in compatibility mode and select Windows Vista or other operating system, the program has been run successfully.

Check out the link here: make sure to run older programs in this version of Windows

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows

If you are running Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate version, install Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP mode (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/default.aspx) and run your software in Windows XP.

If you run Windows 7 Home Premium, try VirtualBox (www.virtualbox.org) or VMware Player (www.vmware.com), or any other software virtualization part 3rd and install a separate copy of Windows XP (family or professional edition) for this purpose. You can find the virtualization software free that will run on Windows 7 Home Premium.

    I hope this helps.

  • Cannot install microsoft visual C++ 2005 on windows 8 pro 64-bit

    Hello to you all,.

I recently updated my computer to windows 8 Pro 64-bit and today I had to install Matlab as I need it for my work.

The first step in the Matlab installation process is about installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable, but the progress of the installation stops with the bar very near the end. The progress bar stops moving (but continues to work the animation on this) and it is just there for something like 10 seconds, but there also two or three minutes. Then the installation window closes without any error or confirmation that the installation was successful. In the control panel appears an entry "Microsoft visual c ++ 2005" but it is, in fact, does not work. Installation of Matlab does not and if I start it again it's the same thing again.

I tried to install C++ by Microsoft Web site directly, but the same problem occurs, and more no error report is given.

    any idea?

    Thank you very much

    Filippo

    P. S.

Installation of a later version as the C++ 2010 or 2012 works very well, but Matlab seems very stubborn on the installation of the 2005 version...

I have did this after 2.5 hours of web searching and try and - in case of failure.

In the end I found a similar position here on the community where a 'fix it' program was proposed, a fact to solve the problems of installation/uninstallation. I don't have the page open more, but I'll post again here when I find.

It should be noted, however, that the 'fix it' program did not find any problem on my machine, and he says that nothing has changed, but then I restarted the computer and ran the Setup again and this time it worked.

At the end of the day, I don't know how this problem has been solved, it surely wasn't the reboot only as I restarted several times during the 2 hours that I've been sitting here, but nevertheless, it seems to be ok now.
