installation of E3000

Try to install linkseys e3000. Message comes up saying internet cord not plugged in. Put new cord on even. How can I check to see if I have the wrong internet port? What can I do else.

You have a broken internet port. Try to call (1-800-326-7114 U.S.) Linksys technical support to check if your router is still covered. They will need the number of the unit. If the router is still under warranty on hardware, proceed with the replacement. If this isn't the case, then you might need to buy another router.

  • Computers can't see each other after the installation of E3000

I found several previous posts about my question, but none of them have led me to a solution to my problem. Here's my problem. I have a small home network that I could share files and printers on now I bought for and install a Cisco E3000 and my computers do not see each other. My current configurations is as such: I use DSL and you have an ADSL modem to 2 wires with wireless capabilities. This particular modem has a port for the telephone line and a local Ethernet port. I took the local ethernet and plugged into the internet port of the E3000. All computers can access the internet, but they cannot see. I checked that the file sharing and printers is enabled on all computers. In fact, if I remove the E3000 of configuration and place them on the 2wire wireless connection they see each other. So I'm pretty sure that the firewall on each PC software will allow file and printer sharing. Which leads me to believe that my problem is in the E3000. It blocks perhaps the Protocol of network discovery or something. Does anyone have ideas how I can fix this problem? Any help is appreciated.

Well, I solved the problem by returning the router to the retailer and Exchange to another router. Now, all network shares working. Consider the problem solved.

  • E3000 installation problems

It turns out that I can not read and connected my router to my network before inserting the disc. When installing, it said that it couldn't find my router, and despite this, I was able to connect to it. However he frequently falls connection and I have no admin/password or key to setup easy to install correctly. I know that the debacle is my fault, but someone has any advice for me?

Connect a cat5 between your computer and the router.  Put 192.168.1.1 in the address bar.  When he asked usename and password, do not fill in the username and admin for the password.  Configure your router like linksys router

  • Cannot configure the account invited on E3000 v1.0

I have an E3000 on which I can't access to the guest account.  The router has been installed for months and worked the guest account.  The signal is Excellent, but it does not connect.  The secure account works fine.

I tried to access the account of comments by running Cisco Connect, I downloaded from Cisco's Web site.  After going through the whole process - it found the router of comments, he ended up telling me that it "does not work" and calling the Cisco support.    I called support of Cisco and they notified me that I could only paid support.  I power cycle the router (with switch for about 10 seconds), but he has not made a difference.

At this point, I would like to know what are the options, if any, I have this problem (aside from the paid support).   As far as I know, my only option now would be to reset the default router and reconfigure.  I am concerned that I have not the original Cisco connect disks.   Any help would be appreciated.

You can still use the downloadable Cisco Connect software. Personally, I'll start clean and reset the router and uninstall Cisco Connect software and run the clean installation procedure.

  • Adding older computers to E3000 network home

I just bought a Cisco E3000 router and set it up to replace my old router wireless G router (WRT54G) using the supplied CD of Cisco.  He has been activated on a new Toshiba, under Win7 Home Premium laptop and worked well.  Then I created an easy installation on a flash drive key to add my old computer to the new network.  Two old computers are running Windows XP - SP3 and have Linksys WPC54G Notebook adapters (ver 2).  I've disabled the notebook adapter management software and enabled the option of networking Windows wireless via the control panel.  I ejected from the adapter first and restarted the old computer first.  However, the adapter does not connect using Cisco connect from a USB Flash drive.

Here are the details of the error:

    Error code: 82BD0115
Error description: wireless adapter does not support WPA or WPA2.

    Connection type (WAN): unknown

Ironically, I had put so much the new laptop as Win7 and laptop older topic under Win XP - SP3 to my old WRT54G uning WPA-Personal (see the thread titled here "should I replace my WRT54G?" as of 17/01/2011).

The wireless adapter on your computer does not support WPA/WPA2 mixed mode.  To make your two computers to go online wireless, you must change the security mode on your router for WPA or WEP, but this will make your Cisco Connect software stops working.

If you want to use the Cisco Connect software then you must buy a new wireless adapter that supports WPA2/WPA Security Mode.

  • Linksys E3000 NAT open Xbox Live settings

    Hi all

I recently upgraded my the WRT160n V3 to the E3000 router. I had the port to the front of my old 160n to get my game Xbox Live NAT settings to OPEN.  When I switched on the router for the new E3000, my Xbox Live settings are returned to the Medium (medium). I assumed that this would have happened since this is a new installation/router.

Can someone help me configure my E3000 and Xbox Live so I can have my open NAT settings?  I only need to configure the Xbox 1. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!

The previous is large enough and generally useless for the configuration of the E3000 to facilitate capacity NAT open xbox live connections. 1 make sure you have a static IP assignment for the xbox an assignment of dhcp for the mac address of the xbox in creating or statically assigning an ip address to the xbox outside the dhcp scope, you set but on the same network / subnet of course. then go to the tab under applications and games and the prior port 3074, single port forwarding, both internal and external, to the IP address of your xbox. Name the rule openNAT or something that you will recognize. put a cheeck in the box to enable the rule and click on save settings to activate. Your xbox should now work without complaint about the need for open NAT xbox live test and gameplay should work just fine.

  • Share USB over the internet using the E3000

I just bought an E3000 router, everything started installation and configuration USB share for my network. But how to share this USB on the Internet with the family etc. ??? I keep searching and searching and just can't find the answer. It's the ONLY reason I bought this specific model.

You are able to share the drive within the network?

Open the router configuration page and go to storage tab, click Activate the FTP server FTP server void tab and enable access to the Internet.

Now, go to the status tab and check the IP address of the Internet on the status page. Note the Internet IP address. Consider the Internet IP address X.X.X.X. . Open the Internet browser and in the address bar, type ftp://X.X.X.X .

  • Access invited E3000 and static IP addresses

I have an E3000 I just put in place.

    I have two questions:

1 > I'm replacing a WRT110. I had the old router with a static IP address provided by my ISP. I have configured the E3000 with the same address and I can't access the internet. Are there tips for setting this up on an E3000?

2 > as configured I there is a feedback network configuration. BUT when I have access to the router, I don't see the tab to be able to set it up. Am I missing something?

Before you configure the static IP address on the router configuration, make sure that it runs on a pc connected to the modem. One of the links below will help you manually configure the router for the static IP address. With your query on the support of the router with network of comments, Yes, the router will be certainly able to, but it should be through Cisco Connect. I also have the statement on the links below. If you're going to do is set up the router manually through the web interface then install Cisco Connect.

  • Can E3000 to function as only access Point or should I return it?

Hi, Ok, I know I acted probably stupid, but I needed to access as a guest of Setup wi - fi which supplied routers LinkSysys. I don't need the router/modem I want to just have a wi - fi access point. I am an advanced user and I can work with manual configuration etc.

I tried to do a manual installation of the router, I changed the IP, mask of my network and activate the wi - fi and has worked, BUT the guest access option is NOT available unless you use the stupid CISCO connect software.

Now the cisco connect IS NOT software work or complete installation, if you do not connect through the router and access the Internet, which is IMPOSSIBLE for me to realize that my modem is connected to a firewall device, and we use static DSL PPPoE options and usernameme and password. There is no way I can get cisco doesn't connect to properly charge because it always "fix my connection trying to access the Internet.

Y at - it any solution on manually properly configure this router and take full advantage of it capabilities or should I return it?

PS: If the answer is "return" Please do not hesitate to provide me with an alternative that supports the wi - fi access COMMENTS (I do need separate vlan users to a WiFi connection to connect to the internet access BUT WITHOUT HAVING any where on my LAN)

    Thank you very much.

    Best regards, Vassilis

The network of comments on the E3000 (and model consumer of any other brand with the same function) only works if the E3000 is your main Internet gateway.

  • E3000: Unable connect wireless devices

Implement our E3000 following the installation guide. However, wireless (laptop, iPhone) recognize the network, but cannot connect. There is no prompt for a password or anything.

I'm a fool when it comes to these issues, so certainly, there is a simple solution to this problem that I can not understand.

I hate the 'assistance' call lines, so I post here.

    Thank you!

Try to change the settings of the router wireless. Create a new wireless network.

Connect the computer to the router with the Ethernet cable.

Open the router configuration page. Click on the Wireless tab and the manual value configuration view.

Change the wireless network name to banned as well as the 2.4 Ghz wireless Band 5 Ghz wireless. The network names should be different. Change the channel to 11 for broadband wireless 2.4 Ghz. save settings.

Go to wireless security sub tab and check the wireless network security settings. Make it safer that you have the correct network password.

Now try to connect to the new network wirelessly on your laptop and see if it works.

What is the operating system on your computer?

  • Configuration of E3000

I bought the E3000 in summer and wired & installed in an old laptop that was hooked to our modem. It was the only computer at home and I was installing it so my son could play internet games on their Wii with their friends.  My laptop was not already (less than 2% of memory) and couldn't manage the router. It appeared that the installation has been a failure.  I print my network name of the router, security key, & security type.  Has released the CD and unplugged unit.   We would wait until we could buy a desktop computer.   We got a desktop computer now and wired the E3000 on the desktop.  I want to make my router Home Office and eventually drain the laptop.  When I ran the CD of the router in the office he told me that the Office may be invited, but I want it to be the main hub / station.    The router broadcasts because we can use the laptop in different rooms.   Now, the laptop is plugged into the wall in the same room & is on.  I have not yet set a password for my router & selected just as my wireless network.

So that I can just uninstall the program from my laptop (the CD should be?) & reinstall with the CD on my desk.  I call Cisco & because it went from 60 days they will charge me.  I was afraid of everything just uninstall & reinstall myself and block everything.  I'm not tech saavy, but I can follow the step by step instructions.  Thank you.

(Thread moved to start a new topic).

I think that you will need to reset the router and reconfigure the router.

Who is your Internet service provider?

You have already configured the router using the laptop, so I think that you will not be able to run the CD on the desktop. You can get the error "your router is already configured...". ».

If you want to install the Cisco connect software on your desktop, you will need to reset the router.

Before you reset the router, connect the office directly to the modem and see if you can access the Internet on the desktop via the modem. Once your desktop is able to access the Internet via modem, you can reset the router to factory default settings and launch the CD on the desktop.

To reset the router, press and hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait 30 seconds. Cycle power to the router. Connect the desktop computer to the router and start the CD on your desktop.

  • Linksys E3000 holds up my printer offline wireless network

I used to have WRT54G2 and everything works fine. Then I switched to the new E3000, he couldn't pick up my printer.

I found a solution online activate transfer IP HP Officejet 6500 192.168.1.144, it works but not more after turn off and on printer. I reconfigure my printer wireless several times, it still works just after installation, but whenever I have to disable my printer and then turn it back on, I can't reach it wireless. My network will not pick up my printer unless I have to go through all the hassle to set up printer again whenever I use it.

I guess that this is caused by the new E3000 router because I had no problem with my old router wrt54g2. How can I fix it? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

If your printer takes any IP address directly from the router then you might face the problem, as the IP address of your printer will continue to change right away.

If you know the IP address of the printer, then on your computer opens IE and in the address bar, type the IP address of your router, once you connect to the printer Interface, then you can configure a static IP address to your printer which is outside the list of DHCP client table.

Once you have done with the configuration, then re-install the printer software and that will solve your problem.

  • E3000 - keep or too hot?

Hi - I have a relatively casual decision and bought the e3000. As I was looking for some questions tech here, and besides, I was rather disturbed by the number of posts which suggested that this attitude is too hot to be reliable. In addition, one person said that a tech told them, that he was not supposed to be used 24/7. (!)

I must stress that I am not too concerned about other issues, such as the installer of comments, etc. I have a simple home network. Plug, play and move forward. I'm worried if the router can actually do its job and not every 8 months.

So I have to ask for recommendations. Shortly, I will have a brand-new package arriving. Should I keep? East - reliable? Or should he come back? For the moment, it's easy to do.

If you want to use the network of comments, then you need to configure the router using Cisco connect.

Follow this link for more information on the network of comments.

  • No reclassification of WRT54G to E3000 no access of local working group

I'm trying to upgrade my WRT54G to the E3000.

1 run the installer and all PCs (XP, Vista, W7), TV, TiVo can access the wired Internet or wireless with no problems.

    2. when I try and 'see the workgroup computers' it fails with the "workgroup is not accessible. You may not be authorized, path not found network"(it's the XP error, error Vista is slightly different)

    3. all PC's are pings

    4. I can access using network drives mapped previously or previously shortcuts other shared files installation PC.

    5. anyway I try and see computers on the network, it fails.

Reconnect the WRT54G and everything works again. I tried the installer twice (after reset the router)

    I also disabled firewall.

Here's what I did to finally solve the problem. What I read online Linksys is not very useful on this problem that many people have.

First, I replaced my 54G with a 2 54 I had. PC acknowledged that the router was new and replace the network. All PCs were still on the workgroup 'WORKGROUP' and all the actions of PC can be found and were available as before.

Then I reconnected it my E3000 and before PC and actions were not accessible.

Working Group was still "WORKGROUP." Then I changed the Working Group of each PC with a new name, and after the restart, all PC actions are available. No change in the area of trust or any other changes to Norton.

Only change required was to change all the readers of PC and network under a new name of working group.

Clearly a problem with the E3000.

  • Connection speed 2.4 Ghz E3000 and USB HDD

I use WRT160N for my internet and wifi at home. For the storage of the laptop, I use Seagete Free Agent 2 TB USB 3.0, which is nice by car.

So I desided to buy E3000 and use as storage server, router, internet and wifi.

I install everything, he went peaty smoot.

During installation, I noticed that 2.4 GHz wifi shows only max 150 Mbps, but 5 GHz 300 Mbps connection speed (I use wifi mini card dell 1510 on my Dell laption, supports the 2.4 and 5 GHz).

I tried different things to the 2.4 GHz to display connection 300Mbps speed (disable 5 GHz option, set the mode to "N" only, always use WPA2, etc.), but without success. When I connect to the old WRT160N, I can see 300Mbps speed of connection.

Can you advice what settings should I set up, so that I can use connection to the E3000 300Mbps?

The second bit I want to share and comment on is the access speed to the reader of the UBS.

When I connect to the reader directly on my laptop, I am limited to 32 MB/s (256Mbps) read/write speed (the laptop is USB2.0, so it seems normal).

Now, when I write of the E3000 max speed wifi I do is about 3 to 3.5 MB/s (24-28Mbps) and when it is connected to the local network (100 Mbps) speed is about 4 - 4. 5 MB/s (32-36 Mbps).

It seems slow, peaty compared to the speed of the USB. 5 GHz wifi rate shows 300Mbps connection 144Mbps speed/2.4 Ghz (which is 18 MB/s), so that the router should be able to keep read/write rate highter.

Is this a problem E3000 or this is the max I can get material in there?

    1. it's a router not a storage attached to the network power house. If you want a NAS with high performance get a NAS. The USB HDD is more for practical reasons, then for high performance. Drive speeds you see through the router are good enough for a device like this. Check what CPU you have in your E3000 and which processors they use in NAS devices that are able to provide data of 250 Mbit/s from a connected USB device and you will see that it is a completely different League...

    2. the 150 Mbps is a rate of 20 MHz. The connection uses only a band of 20 MHz and not a 40 Mhz. This is usually due to one of these two reasons:

    a. many pilots (for example Intel Centrinos) wireless equipped with 20 MHz preconfigured on the band 2.4 GHz. It will link ever more quick then 150 Mbps, unless you change the configuration of the driver.

    b. most / all new routers observe interference of signal on the tapes and automatically returns to 20 MHz mode, if they find too much interference. If you have many other access points in your proximity 40 MHz would mean more than twice the interference on the connection. Any other communication on stuck on 40 MHz channels would interfere with your communication. With a lot of traffic interfering on the range 2.4 GHz, you would see very low real rates if you forced 40 MHz in this case.

And your neighbors using 802.11 g wouldn't really appreciate your bandwidth hogging. Because of the limited number of channels without overlapping on the 2.4 GHz band a router running on 40 MHz basically use 2/3 of the total available on the entire 2.4 GHz band available bandwidth. The execution of 40 MHz in a neighborhood with many other access points is all just a terrible idea...
