  Since I upgraded to OS Mavericks 10.9, the scanning HP application no longer works. • Trouble installing the Readiris scanning software

  I bought a new HP Officejet Pro 8715 and I had great difficulty it is set up to use. I am close to return to the store, except that the problem seems to be with Apple not with HP (or so I thought). It seems the method to print and scan drivers has changed dramatically in the direction of Apple. HP supplies over a CD with the software, but rather is supposed to happen automatically when I plug in the printer. This was not the case.

  At this point, I have the printer (4 hours) work, but I can't get the software "Readiris' of scanning to work. Yet once again, I am told that if I just plug the printer via the USB port and turn it on, then the OS knows what software to load. In reality, he doesn't "know" or "do" something.

  My second attempt was to set it up manually by going to System Preferences > Print & Scan and then by clicking on the sign more to add the printer software. This will show you a huge list of printers, but the list ends with "Officejet Pro 8660." My printer is a 8715, so there is nothing for my printer. Installation of the software for 8660 did not help to solve the problem.

  My third attempt was to set up the scan within Readiris software > Preferences. Inside the preferences, there is a drop-down list where I'm supposed to choose my scanner. But I'm not able to choose my scanner, probably because the software has not been installed. The strange thing is that the drop-down list it (in the preferences of Readiris), where you must select your printer/scanner, nothing opens.

  I filled out a form of disturbance with Readiris and they assure me that they'll be back in touch in the coming DAYS. Nice.

  Any help to get the OS to load the correct drivers, or get Readiris to allow me to choose my printer/scanner in settings would be most appreciated!

• Problems with the HP scanning software

  When I scan documents with my 5520 HP all-in-one by using the scanning software HP standard for Mac OSX that comes with the printer, it seems that the scan is perfect on the screen in the scanning software, but when I try to save the image as a .pdf file, the result is an A4 page where half left from the original image I stretched to fit the A4 page. Anoyone know the same thing? Is there a solution to this problem?

  Try scanning from your Mac. Use Image Capture app in your Applications folder.

  Click once on the scanner on the left side, and then click Show details on the background. Along the right side you will see MANY options for scanning and recording.

• SJ G4010 communicates only with the HP scanning software

  Now, I have the same problem as others.  I am running win xp pro.

  I have uninstalled/reinstalled the software (HP Solution Center) because I wasn't able to scan from Corel Presentations, I could do with my old HP scanning 4470c SJ.

  Now, when I try to open HP Solution Center's, I get the following message:

  "No HP devices have been detected.  HP Solutions Center's will be closed

  When I try to acquire an image from the scanner when I'm in HP PhotoSmart first or in Corel presentation I get this message:

  "Unable to communicate with HP scanning software. Please check that it has been installed and working properly.  If the problem persists please closed your application and try again. »

  Of course, it does not solve the problem.

  After this error message I get an additional error in HP PhotoSmart first stating:

  'Invalid Twain State'.

  It is interesting I can scan from in MS Paint and also MS multimedia library of MS Office 2007, which means that the scanner works.  I can also use the scanner with MS scanner and Camera Wizard.  The problem seems to be in the inability of the HP software to detect the scanner.

  The solution is to download the latest software on the HP ftp site and rub all the residual Scanner HP program remains on your hard drive or your registry before attempting to reinstall.

  Still can not sweep of Corel Presentations as I used to with my old SJ deceased 4470c but it's just a minor irritant compared to what I went through to fix this.

• Cannot enable the firewall service in Windows Vista. Prevents the installation of the HP printer software.

  I'm trying to install the HP printing software, but the error message that the firewall must be enabled. However, I'm unable to turn on the firewall. The sytem keeps taking me in circels telling me I can '; t activate the firewall because the service is disabled.

  I think I solved my problem.  I found an application in the folder of the HP software on my Mac called HP Scan Destinations.  When I tried to run this application, it reported a corrupted file and gave me the option to restore the default values.  After you restore the default settings, I found that I could run a scan of the device without the scanning application manager to crash.  Seems that the installation of software process corrupted a file.

  I looked at the product page for this printer and I noticed there are 2 packages of software of their choice: a basic print/scanning and a complete solution package.

  Did you use the basic print/scan package or the complete solution?

  If you use the basic print/scanning, you will not get the drivers and nothing else. If it is the package you want, you need to use something like windows scanning solution for scanning.

  If you want all software, like what would happen on the cd in the box, then you must choose the complete solution. This will give you the scanning software provided with the cd in the box. In this case, it would be best to uninstall what you already have on your system, re-boot and re - install this new package.

  Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

  Method 1: Try the SFC (System File Checker) scan on the computer.

  To run the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:

  a. click Startand type cmd in the box start the search.

  b. right click on cmd in the list programs, and then click run as administrator.

  c. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue

  d. at the command prompts, the following line and press ENTER:

  It is not legitimate, it is a fake anti-virus program and must always be treated as a malware, it's basically extortion-ware and they want you to buy. As you have purchased the advanced version, I would recommend cancelling the credit card immediately if they do not load any more things out there and see if you can get your money back.

  I also recommend the online scan as Deb has suggested, if this does not work I would download malwarebytes www.malwarebytes.org, installation, update running, and run a scan full to make sure it's clean.

  Follow the steps below and let me know what happens? These instructions will be clean your temporary folder (a folder that contains temporary data such as data configuration / installation) and rub the printer software with the most recent uninstall.bat utility for your printer.

  First step: clear temp directory
  Type %temp% term or search programs and files of field
  Select all the files in this folder, and then press the delete key to remove. If you receive a message that the file is in use, you will need to ignore this file (s).
  Proceed to step 2 below
  Second step: downloaded and extracted to your system:
  1 download the drivers and full software features
  Complete features Officejet 5510 software
  2. once the download is complete, double-click the file to extract the software.
  3. when the installation window opens, press the Cancel button to stop the installation
  4. tap folder in the race or search programs and files of field
  5. Locate and open the folder starting with 7z (example: 7zS2356)
  6. right click on the folder and select copy
  7. close this window and all open windows, and then in the Middle the desktop right click your mouse and select Paste. This will move the 7z folder on your desktop.
  8 open the 7z, that you just copied on your desktop
  9 open the Util folder
  10 open the CCC folder
  11 start the uninstall_L4
  12. once the uninstall is complete, restart the computer
  13. run disk cleanup from the tools Accessories\ system under all programs folder
  14. download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player
  Adobe Flash Player
  15 open the 7z folder and then double-click the Setup.exe file that will be towards the bottom of the open window. Follow the instructions on the screen to reinstall your printer.
