Installation on disk external USB - "Closed circle" after the first restart of the installer

I tried to install on my MacMini Sierra (end 2012, Mavericks) to an external Seagate USB 3.0 drive 3TO. The drive is freshly formatted with utility disk (, logged, etc. extended partition GUID) and retired in good health.

Installation always fails on the first reboot. On the first reboot, the screen goes black, there is a white Apple and white progress bar that moves two or three times to the right and then clears the screen and dreaded him circle with a diagonal line appears. Force reboot simply repeats the process.

So, I decided to try and install the Mavericks (the OS on the internal SSD flash of the Mac mini disc) of the partition of the USB 3.0 drive recovery external. This eventually ended up with a white screen, the dreaded circle of diagonal and a widget of rotation for several hours. Force restart it worked and a new Workgroup installation Mavericks was now hard disk external and implemented to date.

Another attempt to install Sierra on the external hard drive, but this time the Mavericks running on the external hard drive is not in the same way with the dreaded circle and the diagonal line.

Near ideas, I tried to install Sierra on an old Seagate 500 GB disk firewire external hard. Shock, horror... it worked without any problem.

Sierra is simply not install on an external USB 3.0 :-(3 TB drive

Someone has it successfully? Any ideas?

The saga continues...

I tried the USB of the FW - same problem Imaging reader drive.

I tried to start the Sierra - same problem recovery partition USB drive.

WORKAROUND SOLUTION:

I plugged the USB3 drive on a cheap Chinese USB2 hub and... Sierra, booted from the USB3 drive! Obviously not ideal speed wise, but it'll do for now.

Sierra really dislike my external Seagate Go Flex Desk media USB3 drive when it is plugged directly into a USB3 port on my Mac Mini end of 2012.

[Keep in mind, the Mavericks had no problem installing and running on the drive USB3.]

How can I get my computer my external USB drive (portfolio) after that I repeatedly get the message that the device "can not be removed? I have closed all other programs and waited for varying amounts of time, and tried all of the fixes that have been proposed on this site. Nothing works. I don't want to turn off the computer whenever I have to remove the device.

I can't know what "all patches" you've tried, but:

Make sure that the system restore does not monitor the external drive.  SR does need to control the system drive and to the system drive, SR has only about 1 GB of space max.  Make a right click my computer and select properties then the System Restore tab to configure SR.

Make sure that the Indexing Service is turned off (at least for the external drive).  To disable disk indexing completely, which will also speed up your computer a bit, see http://lifehacker.com/031440/turn-off-indexing-and-speed-up-windows-xp.  For the external drive, right-click on the drive icon in my computer, select properties and uncheck the indexing disc

There are different workarounds short to shut down the computer, but you might want to try this third-party app first:

The device cannot be stopped now. Why? Never encountered the situation when Windows does not allow you to remove a device? Unlike Windows, USB remove will show you programs which prevent the device to be stopped and let you close these programs or just files that they opened on the device.

You know a software product to insert text in the photo and then take pictures of Windows and copy on an external USB to print at the pharmacy. Thank you

To achieve this product is Adobe Photoshop http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/family/.  This not only allows you to do, but allows you to manipulate pictures in almost any way you choose above all.

If you are looking for a less expensive solution (although nowhere near as functional), then Microsoft Photo Editor free http://www.brothersoft.com/downloads/microsoft-photo-editor.html will probably do the job for you.  In addition, you can try the free Microsoft Office Picture Manager 2003 to http://www.brothersoft.com/microsoft-office-picture-manager-171868.html.  I suggest that you try the free options to determine if it meets your needs before you spend money on Adobe Photoshop (as good as Photoshop is).

All these programs have the ability to record in a variety of formats - certainly, including that which can be handled by your local drug store (call them to check to determine what types of extensions that they can support and don't forget to use this format when you are working with your photos).

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...

-Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
-On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
-Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

I thank each of you for your attempts to answer this question!
YES, microsoft 'fixed' the problem that was part of the addition of service pack 1 for win 7.
It seems that the transition "done something" to how usb 3.0 drivers worked. Or in my case, didn't work. After you apply the fix, everything seems TSE be as it should have in the first place.

  • Need help with the disks 'unreadable' configuring software raid after the death of the startup disk and system restored.

I'm looking for some advice on how to restore a windows xp installation software raid 5 that was running on my XP system. I had a problem when the startup disk has failed, but I was able to backup the system before it can. I replaced the drive and restored the system and everything came, but I was not smart to do this and accidently left the readers connected when restoring raid. I don't know if windows has done something when I tried to install XP on the new drive, or maybe something else has happened when I restored the system from the backup, but my raid drives can not be used. There was a moment in the restaurant business I saw a message on the MBR, but I thought that was just for the drive being restored. I didn't have a single player who held any information on the other disks in the system, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

When the system boots the windows logo screen takes 10-20 minutes before you get on the desktop. Windows Disk Manager takes 20-30 minutes to fill the list of drives and status on the disks three raid is 'dynamic' and 'unreadable' is not reassuring. I suspect it's a problem MBR or partition table that must be corrected before trying to reactive the raid, but this is just speculation.

The raid drives are on a promise ide/scsi disk and make it appear to start correctly with names and sizes. After that I get nothing. I do not have another scsi controller (or), but I thought I'd try active @ partition recovery to see if she can find information on the disks.

I hope someone has some experience with recovery like this, because this is a first for me. I thought I was pretty sure running a raid-5, but wouldn't you know, the tech gods have found a way to crush my plans...

Thanks in advance for any help!
