  • Install Oracle GoldenGate Linux to synchronize two schemas from database on a single server

    Hi all

I have to synchronize two schemas from database (Oracle 12 c) in a single host RedHat Linux to demonstrate and understand the use of OGG V12.1.2.1.0. I try to do. But it's complicated and confused me because I am new to Oracle and Linux. I followed this tutorial ( install Oracle GoldenGate for Oracle 12.1.2 on CentOS/6.x to 6.x/RHEL Linux 6.x EL ). But it is difficult to understand how I can match with two diagrams of database on a single server.

And I found this tutorial (Oracle GoldenGate on Linux: two-way replication of Oracle 11 GR 2 to Oracle 11 g 2). He said: "" If you have that one host, it may be useful to change the /etc/hosts file to create aliases forhost01.example.com and host02.example.com.". What it really means?

The other seems to be useful. But it's totally different from 1. Is that this will help my job since I use 12 c Oracle Server?

Can I get some tips to continue my task?

    Here's another tutorial - http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/fmw/goldengate/12c/OGG12c_Integrated_Replicat/index.html

It has everything set up on a single Linux host.

  • Installing Oracle on Linux

    Hi all

I installed Oracle 11 g on my Centos machine. I have the following problem: I put the environment variable in a terminal as user oracle.
But if I start another terminal as the user x environment variables are not detected by this terminal session and I can't start sqlplus.
How can I configure them permanently?

    Thank you

If I create a new user, I want him to have access to the database by default, just like on Windows

You're not in Kansas anymore, Dorothy.

First of all, the model overall / authentication of the user used by oracle is not like Windows and SQL Server.
Second Linux is not something like Windows (fortunately!) Linux is an operating system multi-user true, from the ground up.

Regarding your environment variables, it goes back to the design of Linux (and Unix). Each user of the OS gets its own directory. This directory must be a file named '.bash_profile '. (the main point in fact a hidden - file does not appear from a normal ' ls' order unless you add the switch - a). When a user logs on to the operating system, the .bash_profile located in the home directory of the user is executed. For the user 'oracle' has its own copy, 'x' the user has its own copy, user "joesnuffy" has its own copy. What you do in /home/oracle/.bash_profile has no effect whatsoever on 'x' or 'joesnuffy '. If you want "x" to get something, you have to put in home/x/.bash_profile. If you want "joesnuffy" to get something, you put it in ' / home/joesnuffy/.bash_profile'.

because variables are not visible to x, I can't start sqlplus

Details of the message of pl of the exact versions of "Linux" and "10g". Check that there are no error messages in the logs of installation?

The error message seems to be explicit - the instance could not be started due to a missing init.ora file. Have you checked that the file and the directory exist (for ' / u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/dbs/inittestdb.ora'), and that the permissions are appropriate?

  • Install Oracle database (software) with script avoiding xWindow on Linux.

    Hello

I need to know that how can I prepare a script to install the Oracle (oracle software) database on a Linux specifically on SuSE Linux 10.

Well, I have installed Oracle on Linux machines using runInstaller script, but the problem with this script is the Xwindows. It's a tedious he needs of Xwindows and remote access. That's why I need to know how could I write such a script, and should not be all Xwindows/xserver.

Would be great if there is a possibility to get an example script.

Silent install still works. You need not an active X windows, even if you need X installed for older versions of Oracle runInstaller

  • Installing oracle 11g R2 on windows vista

    Hello

I am looking for oracle 11 g R2 installation for my personal use on my computer windows vista laptop. Kindly advice from where I can download and install the same.
Also, I heard a necessity to check if its system is 32 or 64 bit for compatibility.

As indicated in the Installation Guide, Vista Home edition only is not supported. If you cannot use Win XP, your best bet is to install Oracle VM (free downloadable on http://edelivery.oracle.com/oraclevm), then install Oracle Enterprise Linux (free downloadable on http://edelivery.oracle.com/linux), then install your software GR 11, 2 in the OEL VM. Use Google to search for articles that document installation all these pieces of software.

Another option would be to switch to Win 7 Professional, enterprise or Ultimate editions. See the Installation Guide link I posted above.

  • Installing Oracle 12 c in Linux Mint 17.1

    Hello world

I try to install Oracle 12 c on Linux mint 17.1. I get a lot of questions of RPM during installation. Someone has Setup on this operating system or any documentation associated with it?

    Thanks in advance.

If you do not go with OEL (as suggests) installs Oracle is cleaner on a derivation of RHEL, CentOS / something on the same stream. Installation on other distributions can get difficult, if need be reason see about hosting on a VM in the Mint, unless there is a specific you operational need it. Mint is mainly for the user interface, or is there another reason you use?
