  • Set up vimeo or youtube video in interactive PDF InDesign CC

    Hello!

I've read several articles about it but can't find a way to solve this problem:

, I have created an interactive PDF using InDesign CC and I would like to embed vimeo and youtube videos to play directly in the file. When I insert the URL does not work because it starts by https:// (not http://). Deletion of obviously the doe "s" does not solve the problem because he says it's not compatible with Flash Player.

Is there anyway that I can fix this?

I decided to create an interactive PDF only because I wanted to be able to integrate online videos!

You can not. Several years ago YouTube was a Flash API for direct playback of video integrated inside a SWF file of parent (the only way to do it in a PDF file), but it also allowed the population to ignore advertising, so they we closed. The current API only supports the incorporation of HTML for web pages.

The URL 'embed' to sites like YouTube and Vimeo is a link to their web page, not the video file itself (legally you can't link directly to the video stream so I will not explain how it could be done). Acrobat video player will not accept a URL that points to the video file or a stream RTMP connector, that's why the URL must end with a valid extension like ".mp4."

    The only options are:

    1. Stir all of the video file in the PDF - assuming you have a copy, and have the right to publish it. Easier to do, but the size of the file can be a problem.
    2. Host the video file on your own website and put the HTTP link in the annotation dialog box (simple but anyone can download a copy, is not safe).
    3. Listen to the file using Adobe Media Server (course but very expensive).
  • Function 'Send form' in Indesign CC do not export to interactive PDF correctly

I created a form in Indesign CC using the 'Submit form' and 'mailto:address' int and then exported as an interactive Pdf. The form Submit button works on my computer in Acrobat Reader and Acrobat Pro XI, but when I send it to my client or to another user, that it no longer works. Can anyone help?

Find out if it works depends on a number of things. It can only work if the PDF Viewer that is used supports this type of action. You will find that the most common are not, such as Preview on OS x and iOS and integrated PDF Viewer for Firefox. But even if you use Adobe Reader, it may not work if the user does not have a properly configured e-mail client. It is a good idea to provide clear instructions and include what PDF viewers are supported and what to do if the email is not engaged (for example, to save the PDF and manually attach it to an e-mail to the intended recipient).

  • Video integrated in format PDF does not play in the preview player or google.

I'm working on an interactive PDF in InDesign with an integrated mp4 video. When I export the pdf file the video only plays in adobe reader, but not in the preview. I have also uploaded to google reader send to people, but the video won't play on either google reader. Is this a problem with the way I am than incorporation/export interactive PDF, or is it a problem of compatibility with preview and google drive?

If the file is downloaded by someone who do not have adobe reader, how can I make sure that the file will open in adobe reader for them?

There are hundreds of PDF readers. Most of them only show only simple files and fail with interactivity, or a PDF document for special as uses prepress. As Bob said, only readers that you can be sure are Adobe Reader and Acrobat. Tell your visitors to download the FREE Adobe Reader to get the best viewing experience and provide a link to Adobe Reader.

  • Documaker interactive PDF

    Hello

We are looking for a product that could be used to capture data and treatment of the form in a real time environment. Don't Documaker supports generation of interactive PDF which can collect data from the user and change the display of the PDF file according to the data entered by the user.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Before going on the interactive PDF road, strongly recommend that you check your contract to see what you already have a license. If you have Oracle Documaker, Oracle Documaker Enterprise or any solution the Documaker which includes some 'iDocumaker", the interactive on the Web for Documaker component-based, then you probably already have what you need and it is much more powerful than most already integrated with Documaker, interactive with Acrobat PDF. If you're unsure, you can contact your representative. If users who will do the editing are all internal staff, it is really the way to go.

Interactive PDF with the Acrobat software free viewer has many limitations, because (a) you can't do much in terms of rich editing, (b) there is no dynamic option, such as shrink and expand the sections or the text boxes or tables of popup or dyanamic graphics, etc. - everything must variable fixed-size static content be spaces reserved to fill the void , (c) you can not insert content additional dynamically as adding shapes or sections, or dynamic fields that expand within a paragraph that you type, and worst of all, (d) Adobe "faked" a digital signature within the PDF file that only they can produce so that the free Acrobat Viewer looking for him and will not save locally unless the signature is present, which means that the PDF was generated by the licensed Adobe software and they prohibit sellers trying to circumvent their lock and key, you must purchase the license standalone version of Acrobat, if you want to change the file and save the results locally. It is possible to "post" data on the Web as a good old HTML CGI in the free Acrobat Viewer page, however, it's something.

With everything said, that oracle is looking to support "interactive" support PDF to the extent possible, in a future version, is worried about the reaction of the user to the extreme limits imposed by Adobe that I mentioned above. This will be a very limited, low end of data entry. It would be interesting to hear your opinion on exclusive dynamic Adobe PDF position and the free viewer.

  • Interactive PDF on iPad?

    Hi all

First of all, I'm trying to avoid having to use Flash.

That being said, do the various interactive elements, I can add to an InDesign file (including the integrated video) work in the iPad ecosystem when exported as an interactive PDF?

For example, buttons/links will answer a 'touch' rather than a mouse click?

    Thank you!

    CA

Thinking of the Digital Publishing Suite, and has nothing to do with file conversion SWF what anything usable on the iPad. You can convert SWF in HTML5 with Wallaby. http://labs.Adobe.com/technologies/Wallaby/

  • In preview, can I listen to audio files in an interactive pdf?

We did a huge interactive pdf file in InDesign, with text and sound and video files. They read well both in Acrobat Reader on imac and a PC with Acrobat Pro. The file opens in the application overview on imac, but then the audio files and video files are not possible to open. Anyone know if there is a feature to listen to sound files in the application preview or Acrobat Reader is that so?

If your A / V files are not also playable in the preview, then there is no configuration preview that will change this fact, and the interactive visualization is Adobe Acrobat Reader on the Mac.

  • buttons change layers when creating interactive PDF HELP!

I have a lot of documents with images that need to be enlarged, so for each image (a few pages with a single image, others with 4 or 5) I create the image as a button.  In a new layer called overlay, I create a greybox on the page and the bigger picture and more than (the two buttons and hidden initially).

If the layers order goes like this:

    Big picture (top)

    GreyBox

    small image.

Preview interactive ePub in InDesign is on-site.  The button to reveal and hide the images correctly and are in the correct order.

HOWEVER, when I generate an interactive PDF, pages look fine until I click on a button, but once I click on a picture, I get:

big picture is cut UNDER the greybox.

Small image is above the large image.

I published the document online and when displayed in a browser, all the problems disappear (I remember that it uses the same engine as the preview interactive ePub) but when I download the on-line document, the errors come back.

I feel really it is a bug in InDesign (Adobe listening?) and if anyone has had similar problems, I'd like to hear about them.

    Any help gratefully received.

    Thank you

  • AutoPlay video in interactive pdf format

I have an interactive pdf with embedded video. PDF is made by InDesign and has the mark of 'playing the loading of the Page '. It works normally on computers Windows different DC Acrobat Reader and Acrobat Reader 11: video starts automatically after the page loads. But on some other computers Windows with Acrobat Reader 11this does not work, and the user must press the "play" button to start the video.

    The file is not protected.

What could be a reason for this strange situation? What can we do?

  • Interactive PDF - layout

    Hi community

    I have a strange problem.

When I export my interactive PDF file available that I designed is not show.

Instead of green clear beeing my forms are blue with a red boarder.

    What I am doing wrong?

When I click on the formfields, they become green, as they are supposed to look like.

    What Miss me?

You did not post a screenshot. It looks like this?

On a Mac in Acrobat DC, go to Preferences > forms and uncheck display stationary border. Or change the colors. The red border indicates a mandatory field. In older versions, there was a bar in the upper part.

It will now look like this:

Second choice: leave him alone. The indicators serve a purpose.

  • Checkbox labels disappear and colors modified during export to interactive PDF

I did an InDesign document that contains two simple text boxes: one containing the word 'Yes' – the other containing the word 'no '. The background color of these two boxes are defined as 100% Cyan. After that, I have converted both of them boxes [(voir 1) in the illustration below].

But when you export as interactive PDF, the background color of change boxes 17/11/0/0 and the 'yes' and ' no. "-labels are not visible in the exported PDF document [(voir 2) in the illustration below]."»

However, when you click on the box in Acrobat, the box contains its original color 100% cyan and label and check mark appears [(voir 3) in the illustration below].

But when I click on an empty space outside the box, the box label disappears again, and the background color changes again in 17, 11, 0, 0 [(voir 4) in the illustration below].

My intention is that, when you view the document in Acrobat Reader, check boxes 100% Cyan with labels 'Yes' and 'No' obvious, when you click on one of them, the check box appears and background color remains 100% Cyan and the labels remain visible - also when you click off the beaten later.

I'm doing something wrong, or is this a software problem?

I appriciate all the tips and tricks on how to achieve my goal. Thanks in advance!

In the acrobat preferences, try to stop to see the color of the stationary border for fields, or change the field highlight color.

  • Text boxes do not appear when exported to interactive PDF

I am working on a form of several page that uses 10% gray boxes to indicate the places where people can enter their answers. I made sure all the boxes are checked as "Printable" whereas they should appear when I export to interactive PDF and print. However, when I export to interactive PDF, some mailboxes displayed. I tried save the file as a .idml, opening and export from there, but some original boxes appear and new boxes are not displayed. Anyone know how I can get all the boxes to show?

Figured it out! All the text boxes need to have a different label. For example, you can't text boxes on pages that carry the two NOTES.
