intelligent control of hard disk detected an imminent failure

Intelligent control of hard disk detected an imminent failure on disk 1. I have a Pavilion g7.1081nr laptop.

Hello

If you start getting SMART errors, this would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  If you can still boot into Windows, I strongly suggest to do a backup of all your personal files, etc., as soon as you can.

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disk replaced - you can check the status of your warranty here.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

If you are out of warranty and would like a guide to replacing the hard drive yourself, let me know.

Kind regards

    Hello

Well, I can now use access HARD drive? In the affirmative, please try this:

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=3688870&prodTypeId=0&prodSeriesId=3688868&swLang=13&TaskID=135&swEnvOID=4055

Otherwise, just replace the HARD drive and use the old HDD as a external HARD drive and you MAY BE able to recover data files from there.

    Good luck.

  • HP Pavilion 400-434 Office: intelligent control of hard disk: failure

    Hello

It all started when the computer would go blank right after startup, the HP logo would come upward, then 'auto repair preparation", more... Just empty. After reading the forums online, I did all the possible troubleshooting steps and at the end I did the SMART test... the result was:

    Verification of the processor: past

Intelligent control of hard disk: failure

    Failure ID: RGD7MK-7HV7RC-9XJ16K-60BB03

After obtaining these results, when I turn on the computer, it gives me a blue screen saying: drive SMART 1 error (301) and told me to test once again, that I did and got the same result as above.

Here is some info from the computer:

    Model: HP Pavilion slimline 400-434

    Processor type: pentium (R) of the Intel (R) J2900 @2. 41 GHz

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi there @Brugalgirl

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff. I understand that your computer does not start successfully, and you found a Smart Drive 301 error code. I'm happy to help you with this.

I checked the ID of the failure, you've posted and verifies that the error. Unfortunately, this means that your hard drive needs to be replaced.  In view of the fact that the system does not boot, it is likely that the hard drive is completely unreadable, but depending on what you have on this subject, it may be worth your while to check with a local computer service shop and see if they can help to recover data from your hard drive.

If your system is relatively new and may be covered by the warranty, or if you wish to fix with HP for the guarantee system, you can call in hotline to make these arrangements. In this case, please use the following http://www.hp.com/contacthp and create a folder for your question and contact HP. If you do not live in the United States / Canada, please click on the link below to get contact information for your region.

Otherwise you can look at a replacement hard drive yourself. If you have a set of recovery media, then you already have a factory image HP, which allows you to put in place a new hard drive with your original operating system. If is no longer, you have a set or did not have a set of recovery media, so you can see if there are not yet available for your model.

OK, I hope I posted in the appropriate forum.

I bought the HP DV6 6C50tx in IT show 2012, Singapore.

I ran the HP Support Assistant, HP hard drive check. He pointed out the hard drive HP as a NECESSARY ACTION

    The test result

By pressing "necessary action" button to check smart tells me that the has a drvie check smart issure. The smart threshold has been exceeded and the drive may fail in the future.

This means that I have to send in my book to change the hard drive? I noticed that my computer has been creeping over the months, but without apparent reason

I am running windows 7 Home premium 64-bit (stock OS), with 8 GB of ram.

BTW, this PC also has a wifi card problem. Even with the settings changed to high performance. More details on this problem in another thread, I created months ago

I've still warranty until next year.

    Any help will be appreciated

    Hello

The code for the HARD disk Smart failure means certainly should be replaced under warranty - what happens normally is that HP will send you a new HARD drive for which you pay a deposit - this deposit is then returned to your account when the failed drive is returned.

However, if you also have problems with the WLAN card, it may be better to send the machine and have corrected both issues at the same time.

To contact HP for warranty repairs, start here.

    FAILURE ID: 9C1G7F-5LK7KD-XD015G - 608L 03

    What is my problem?

Whenever you get an error message with 24 characters alphanumeric numbers indicating that the hard drive needs to be replaced to solve the problem

Could be due to the Application or a driver conflict, virus issues, corruptions of files due to incompatible applications, improper stops, update failures due to conflicts, mounted sudden power sudden, so portable falls etc...

HP will offer a replacement HDD if the laptop warranty is Active, otherwise you can buy a SATA hard drive in a nearby retail store

Please make sure that you get at least equal as long as the original one in order to use recovery disks. If you need you can buy a bigger, but not smaller hard drive capacity. For example, if you have a 500 GB hard drive you can improve it to 750 GB hard drive, but not 320 GB hard drive

Please try the troubleshooting below indicated once the steps:
Step 01. Remove the battery and unplug the power adapter AC.
Step 02. Press and hold the power button for more than 30 seconds
Step 03. Plug the AC power adapter / (leave the battery for now)
Step 04. Press the power button and check if the unit is operating normally

If the steps listed above is not enough, then you can try reinstalling the hard disk on your laptop

If the problem persists again please contact HP if your HP laptop is under warranty, HP could replace the hard drive and provide recovery media to restore the operating system to factory after the replacement (if you have not yet created recovery disks/USB support)

Note: Back up all personal data on an external drive if possible. Otherwise, you can connect the HDD defective via SATA Adapter USB with another PC or a PC even after replacing the HARD drive & put in place of the operating system and try to copy / retrieve files.

  • No HARD disk detected on dv6-3111sa

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion dv6-3111sa provided with win7 x 64 version, everything was great, can not complain. A few days ago, I was playing with a live version of a different operating system, and I didn't pay enough attention to the installation options. I managed to delete the HP partition by accident. Windows would not start after the splash screen, after that, linux has been fine starting and accessing the drive. Do not have recovery discs. I downloaded an iso file of win7 official hoping to use it with my serial number, but it does not find my hard disk and ask drivers. I downloaded all the drivers for my model and put them on a stick, but the Installer do not like them. Hard drive is fine and the C: partition is intact and readable/writable in linux.

Can I do to solve this problem? I realized I can order recovery disks, but they are 30 quid and I really don't want to pay what I don't know that would work either. Its still in warranty, but I really don't want to take to the store and lose my machine for a few days.

    Thank you very much.

I think you're on the 'need to buy recovery disk option.  I don't think that you have other options at this point, if you want to use the operating system that you paid for.

Otherwise, you can use Linux to refer the reader to the CRUDE State and then install Windows to him.

The problem is that installation you did or started probably chagned inadvertently format the drive to a Linux style format. It will not be recognized by and the Windows operating system until it is in the format RAW or FAT32 / NTFS.

  • SMART hard disk error - HP detected an imminent failure: HP laptop

Laptop HP 4 years of my mom (I don't have the brand and model yet, will add to post when I get him) running Windows 7 64 bit, it uses for school and surf the internet just got an error message on his hard drive, seemingly out of nowhere. She has not abandoned or moved from his office and has not downloaded something funky from the internet.

The specific error is: "SMART check failure ID: UBUD7L - 59KO 698-XD003F - 609M 03: immediate action, because a disk failure will make you lose all your programs, you should also save up all your important information and the hard drive in question reoaired or replaced.

"What disk is a failure? The following hard drive related failure: name of the disk: TOSHIBA MK6465GSX ATA device Volume: C:\; D:\ ; F:\ »

    See photos attached.

Does need a new hard drive at this point? Is this a virus? I have all his Carbonite backup information and an external hard drive as a precaution. What could have happened to cause this?

Any assistnace would be appreciated, thanks.

    Hello:

Yes, the hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced.

It's just name all the partitions on the hard drive.

Hard to say why. The most likely reason is the heat.

4 years is not bad for a hard drive of the laptop. I read the posts of many Member of the forum where the drives went much earlier than that.

It is not a question of if a hard drive will fail, but a matter of time.

You have recovery discs to restore the operating system on a new hard drive?

    Paul

  • Warning to start the hard disk crash is imminent. Failing all the tests start.

I tried all the start tests and they fail. Have had this message for two weeks now and not real same problems if the startup is very slow.

The hard drive is faulty and should be replaced soon. If you are still in warranty HP will send a replacement. If this is not the case, a laptop SATA hard detail can be used. Just be sure to get a quality at least equal the original in order to use recovery disks. It may be big, but not small ability more. For example if you have a 500 GB hard drive you can use a 750 GB hard drive, but not a 320 GB hard drive.

BTW-save all important files, photos etc to external source soon! USB DVD drive.

If you need help with selection and replace of the disk station hard back with model number & full product as indicated on the Service tag on the bottom of the laptop.

    Hello

I have a desktop HP Pavilion 500 PC series

    Serial No.:

When I start the PC I get the error "No Boot Disk Found".  Sometimes, I get the 'start Recovery', but then the computer system hangs indefinitely.

How can I order a new HARD drive or recovery discs so that I can burn a new image on an existing (new) HDD?

I tried to call support, but they wanted $$ just to troubleshoot the problem.

I'm pretty savy to replace the drive or burn a new computer image.  Can someone tell me how I can order the necessary drive or the discs?

    Thank you

    Thank you.

I was able to order the recovery disks.  It's a shame phone support staff comes to tell me this at the beginning.

The first thing you did before going to Windows 10 was to make your recovery media factory. In addition the problems associated with WIndows 10 will be a self diagnosis on your side first.

Not even yet 3 years old.  Can someone tell me if I lost all that on it or if there is a fix that I can do myself or take home. Could what cost be, no idea?

    Please and thank you!

Probably the best chance to recover all your files would be to remove the hard drive. Then attach it to a > hdd USB adapter or a > USB hdd Enclosure. Plug it into a machine via USB and hard drive will appear as a drive to extra storage that you can browse and copy files on the hard drive of the machine to work. Of course, it depends on how much life is left in the drive.

    Hello!

I SO hope that this someboidy is able to help me.

I'm NOT a novice but I am confused.

I replaced with the same model HD HD CQ58 provided with COMPAQ because the old HD was shot - how it happened escapes me.

Anyhoo, after screwing a new HD I wanted to put OS on it, but I get the following error just after pressing set button / stop:

I also went in the Boot Options in the BIOS to boot from a USB and put the USB HD in the first place.

When I restart it does not recognize a USB key. I tried Windows 8 and UBUNTU which ususally works on all the machines I've fixed so far.

    No chance whatsoever.

    As I mentioned earlier:

    I'm puzzled.

I have no recovery CD and cannot make one because I'm not running Win8 on any of my PC.

    Thus, any suggestions?

    Help, please

    Thanks in advance

    Henry of Kai

    First of all:

Thank you all very much for taking the time and you answer!

And now, for what happened after I did all what has been proposed:

    Nothing.

    The message remained the same.

Still no hard drive (even if it was new)

Then I took a hard drive to work with Win7 on it from another machine, put it in the Compaq and... nothing.

I tried the USB with Win8 (NTFS with Rufus) does not.

I don't know why, I tried again, but when I used the same USB with UBUNTU Live - 14.04. on that I had taken or tried before... He recognized at startup.

Weird hard drive wiped completely since it was not recognized by the BIOS (one with Win7 on it... data paths but I had backup ).

So, now I'm running the faithful Tahr on the Compaq and it works fine.

I will try to put the original Win8 on it, but the system doesn't seem like more since USB NTFS NTFS are not recongised at startup.

Well Anyhoo, I got the machine to work.

Would have been nice to know what was wrong with him to solve future problems, but at least I had to register in this forum

So I could bore you guys with questions in the future.

    Take care

  • INTELLIGENT HP g62-225dx disk error

    Hi all

My HP G62-225DX indicates an error SMART hard drive at startup.

"SMART hard drive control has detected an imminent failure." "Hard disk 1 (301).

I'm willing to change the disk hard since I am out of warranty, but do not know which one to buy. Also, is there a written procedure for replacement out there? My recovery disk on the computer so I think I need to burn that to DVD first no?

    Thank you.

    Hello

First, you must use the Recovery Manager and see if you are still able to burn your game of recovery disks - for details on this, see the link below.

Create recovery discs - Windows 7.

You can create 1jeu of these discs and if your HARD drive is a failure, it is not now possible - if this is the case, you can order a set of replacement recovery disks using the link below.

    Order HP recovery disks.

If you have a problem with this link, order them directly from HP.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

The player at the link below is an example of one that would be perfect for your laptop.

    Hard drive 500 GB

The procedure to replace the hard drive begins on Page 52 of your & Maintenance Guide.

Once this is done, simply use your recovery DVDs to reinstall the operating system on the new drive - see the guide here.
