Intercommunication VLAN SG200-50

Hello

Given the SG200-50 is not CLI, how do I create a VLAN but make sure that they are able to connect together?

I have a Cisco router already connected to the switch. Is necessary for the VLAN to talk with each other? The switch can do on its own? Do I need another router to do?

Thank you! :)

Hi Dan, the SG200 switch is a layer 2 device. This means if you want only the VLANS to communicate with each other, a router or Layer 3 device would have to do that for you. By nature, VLAN don't talk them between them. A diverter that needs done for you.

  • VLAN SG200-26-SPA303 does not

Please forgive me and new small business switches, I am more familiar with IOS. We have recently purchsed a SG200-26 and have several SPA303 with 2 ports. The other component is a Sonicwall NSA3500.

SG200-26 is an interface to the Sonicwall that interface has a primary school of 172.20.3.x and void interface is 172.20.5.x. I have PST VLAN 5

I went to "Create of VLAN" SG200-26 and VLAN 5 has also created and under VLAN voice ID is 5.

Then I went to the SmartPort and assigned GE24 IP Phone + office. It was OK. But when I go to the SPA303 and enable VLANS and VLAN ID 5 get the network initialization. I am able to ping the 172.20.5.1 which is the gateway for the VLAN, but don't always shoot no IP address. I also have a beach DHCP the subinterface assinged.

I also use the Configuration of Cisco's Assistant. I can see the switch SG200-26 and my IP defined, but it shows no IP address. So, I know that the CDP of telephone to the switch works. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi James, when you configure anything, you must choose one method or the other. How to read your information is configure you the vlan voice, but you also implement a macro on the port. These can have an effect of the cancellation.

I do not recommend you remove any manual configuration, you have done on the phone port (s) and enable the vlan auto to take care of this voice.

In addition, check it vlan automatic voice makes the phone port 1untagged, 5 tag, or whatever is the vlan database is.

One thing I did notice in the text, this is how to set up the link between the switch and Sonicwall? You must manually configure the link between the switch and the Sonicwall. If your vlan by default is 1 and vlan 5 voice then the link between devices will be 1untagged, 5 the tag.

  • Question of vlan SG200 (ESXi VSA config)

Hello! I have three switches SG200-26, and I have also two hosts ESXi I want to connect exactly as shown on the attached map of 'best practices' by VMware.

Even if I created the VLAN in the SG200 and I put the two VLANS (508 and 608), as authorized these ports (where my ESX NIC are connected), I can't host ping host 1 2 when the configuration of their NETWORK interface card to use 608 VLAN.

Am I missing something? My IP is all in the 192.168. network and the only reason for which I need a VLAN is to separate the traffic of the VSA backend internally, only these two hosts will use the VLAN. So I think that I don't have to create virtual interfaces on my router because this is the case, is my understanding correct?

Also sending my switch config screenshot below... 3 switches all have the latest firmware.

Any ideas what to change to make it work on the SG200 would be appreciated!

VMware also has that Protocol VLANS on the physical switch must be 802. 1 q, not of ISL, someone knows which one uses my SG200-26?
In addition, the only requirements is that my two hosts:

    • Are in the same subnet.
    • Have static IP addresses.
    • Have the same default gateway configured.

    Thank you for your time!

    Alex

    Hi Alex,

My switch supports 802. 1 q, your config switch seems ok at this point.

Here are some of my thoughts that I see the announcement and I'm a bit confused.

What worries me is the configuration on the wall of sound, or the router, they are not spread of VLAN between ports on the router?

    • You're not VLAN 508 multiplication and 608 via the router, so I guess you have two network interfaces on the router, one for each of the two switches as shown in the first diagram... You can expand on the description of the network configuration of the router.
    • You are using two NICs for each host and spreading with tag vlan packets for VLAN 508 and 608 of each NETWORK card?  But the pattern of reference would indicate that you have four physical network interface cards to each HOST.
    • If so, I suppose that HOST servers are connected with the GE15 and switch 3 and GE16 and GE2 GE3 switch 1

Nope, I want to talk to you, please send us your phone coordinated with this validation URL

I m a fan of IOS CLI. Its the first tiem I have to configure a switch of SB. Sound very confused, I want to setup an id of the vlan 200 voice. but I have the gift of seeing this value changes when I try to apply the smartport macro interface.

It can change a smartport macro?

    Thank you.

    Hello Rafael,.

Sorry for the confusion. Under management of VLAN > VLAN voice > properties, you can set the vlan voice.

  • Configuration of VLAN (management) SG200 series

    Hello.

Can someone help me configure (a normally very easy thing..) on a Cisco SG200-08 switch?

Please see attachment (sg200 - 1.jpg) for detailed information. ... Sorry in advance for my bad writing :)

    My problem is:

I want to manage the switch via the trunkport (port1) on the SG200 via the MGMT on VLAN30 pc and have everything (7ports) free other VIRTUAL networks.

Please see the attached screenshots for my current config.
This config works (I can ping the pc mgmt sg200), but I can't change the VLAN for port2. (it is said that I lose the management functionality)

    Any ideas?

    Hi Frank,.

Indeed, you'd have this error message and no matter if this VLAN 30 is the default of the switch or just the IPv4 interface is on this VLAN, there should always be a port (outside trunk) to keep the vlan 30 untagged and PVID.

I guess you want to use all ports up but unfortunately it's like switch was design.

  • SG200 SG200 VLAN Trunk does not

I have 2 switches SG200-8 and I'm trying to cross the two switches of trunking VLAN, I configured IG1 article on both switches as a port trunk with native VLAN1 and VLAN2 tag.  VLAN 1 and 2 exist on both switches.

Traffic on VLAN 1 passes without problem, but traffic on VLAN2 does not at all.  I confirmed that changing the trunk to tagged VLAN1 and VLAN2 native allows traffic then on VLAN2 flow through the switch but not so traffic on VLAN1.

I also tried this as a SHIFT and a general port with the same results, everyone knows about this problem?

    Hi Ultrique01,

I thank very you much for all the tests. This isn't very common hardware problem, but we might need to consider specifically your switches.

  • SG200 - 50 p, SG300 - 28 p phone YES Voice VLAN

    Hey guys,.

    I'm having a problem with the YES voice of VLANS on SG200 - 50 p, SG300 - 28 p, layer 2 Mode. Firmware 1.3.7.18.

Enabled on a port all the ports PVID unlabeled said no marked traffic is blocked.

    Example:

    Data VLAN 10 - 192.168.10.0/24

    Voice VLAN 100 - 192.168.100.0/24

Configuration of Vlan voice and YES added and enabled on ports.

All Ports configured as trunk Type.

    Example 1:

    Members Table shows that:

    Port 1 - 10UP

    2 port - 10UP

YES disabled: 2 laptops connected to ports 1, 2, traffic passes.

YES Enabled: 2 laptops connected to ports 1, 2, traffic blocked on VLAN10.

    Example 2:

    1 - 10UP, 100 tons of port

    2 port - 10UP

    Port 3 - 10UP

YES Enabled: 2 laptops connected to the ports 2,3, blocked traffic on VLAN10.

1 phone connected to channel 1, the phone connects.

So it's using, but for some reason any the vlan untagged on that port is blocked when the YES is enabled.

I have installation this scenario on many switches cisco small business before and it works very well, so I wonder is this a firmware issue? or am I just being stupid and something wrong?

Thanks for any help you can provide! :)

    Hi Vladimir,.

It's something about Cisco still working. You are more than welcome to open the ticket with us and contribute actively. At this point, the only solution is to sue 1.3.5 firmware which does not show this problem.

  • Can't change phone IP auto macro smartport vlan native on SG200

We have a few SG200 switches and I try to configure the macros Automatic smartport for the IP phone and IP Phone + Office. Every time I have change the macro and change the VLAN native to what I want (the VLAN voice is OK but not the vlan native, I want desktop computers to connect to), I click on apply, but it automatically changes the VLAN default native VLAN (in our case 1 VLAN). I'm trying to change it to VLAN 2. Any ideas why it won't let me change the VLAN native? I can change the VLAN native on others, such as switches, routers, printers, comments, etc., but not the two above and the desktop as well. These three will not change for some reason any. Thank you!

    Hi Brademeyer29,

what you see, unfortunately, this isn't a matter of configuration. This was reported to the engineering team and should be fixed in the next firmware version 1.4.1.

For now, you will have to use the solution as not changing not VLAN native or not use smartport.

  • problem with dhcp Cisco sg200 voice vlan

I have cisco sg200 50 p connected to the switch cisco 3750. I just wanted to separate voice (vlan2) and data (vlan1) VLAN. I created vlan 2 as my voice VLAN and separate dhcp server for vlan 2 to give IPS for phones. However the phone ip connected to my voice vlan (vlan 2) does not receive the ip address of my dhcp server vlan 2.

the dhcp server is connected to a switch with an access port (vlan2-voice) 3750

two switches are connected through the trunk ports and allowed vlan 1 & 2

IP phone is connected to sg200 via the access port (vlan 2).

Note: there is a pc connected to the ip phone

I'm really grateful if someone can help me with this problem

    Hi Ruchiran,

To cover the base, ensure that VLAN 2 is added to the database VLAN on the 3750. Simple by using the command "show vlan id 2", if it is not found, you must first create the VLAN 2 on the 3750.

Second, if you connect the same IP phone directly to the 3750 on an access port, vlan 2 unidentified, is the phone receives IP address as you hope?

Then, on the trunk of 3750 connection to the SX200. Building the trunk when using a command like "switchport trunk allowed vlan remove 1-4094," then build the trunk more precisely with the VLAN ' trunk switchport allowed vlan add 2 "who will score 2 VLAN port." "

On the SG200 switch, must be defined the trunk and VLAN Tag 2 on the port to connect to 3750 then the connection to the phone port should be 2 VLANS not identified as access port.

  • Implementation of VLAN and QoS for VOIP on SG200-18

We recently purchased the smart switch SG200-18 to replace a Netgear switch. We are moving our phone service to VOIP through our local ISP as well.

I currently have the VOIP phone plugged into Port 17 on SG200-18 (it is a Grandstream Cordless VOIP phone).

I want to put the VOIP phone on one VLAN separate from the rest of the network and optimize QoS parameters so that the VOIP phone has exceptional audio quality even during network traffic.

    Here are my questions:

    1. do I need to set anything on the type of port to Port 17 (because it resembles a shape any Combo port)?

    2. How can I do to isolate VOIP telephone it's own VLAN (I see the parameters VLANS and VLAN voice, not sure that one to use;) I've tried to set a VLAN and broke the Internet connectivity on the phone until I went and removed)?

    3. do I need to adjust the QoS settings to switch to better optimize the VOIP phone?

Some additional questions about the GS200-18 in general:

    1. do I need to adjust the parameters of the system on the switch time? I am in the Central time.

    2. do I need to adjust the Green Ethernet/Energy Saving parameters or should I stay with the default settings?

In addition, a couple of "getting started" questions for Cisco:

    1. I registered an account My Cisco. What should I do to register my switch with Cisco and associate with my My Cisco account?

    2. What are the benefits of purchasing a contract of Cisco Small Business support, and how much would it cost the SG200-18 (I ordered it from Provantage)? I'm curious to see if it's worth the money.

    Here's my 'features ':

    Switch: SG200-18

VOIP phone: Grandstream DP715 and 710 handsets

Plugged in: Port 17 on SG200-18

    Services: Internet Local (Direclynx)

Type of connection: 3 m down / 500 k up DSL move to a future wireless connection that will give us higher speeds

    Backend VOIP provider: VOIP Innovations

Router: Apple Airport Extreme AC model (all Macs and iOS devices and the OS X Server on the network, so I use the Apple router facilitates installation, because is not QoS, trying to QoS and VLAN in the switch)

    Thank you all!

    Hello

I'll just go to the list again:

    1. sounds good in the port from the drop-down list. So can I just connect the VOIP phone and go with it, correct?

Yes, just plug in ethernet combo port and it will work.

    2. is not an issue, but I agree, Apple likely isn't compatible QoS or VLAN.

    3. thanks for the info on time/NTP settings. If I wanted to go there and try to configure NTP, how much is it and what I have to do? I want to I can give it a quick try.

To Setup NTP on the switch is quite simple.  Go to Administration > Time Settings > time system and check the boxes to activate the main clock Source (SNTP)

Then go to the settings of the SNTP page and add a new entry with the IP address of an NTP server.  There is a list of available NTP servers here:

    http://www.pool.ntp.org/en/

You must also ensure that the switches Administrative default gateway is set correctly (it must be set the to the default gateway, probably the most convenient airport) so the switch can contact the NTP server.  That option is set under Administration > Interface Management > Interface IPv4.  Change the user-defined default gateway and enter the IP address of your airport (or whatever your default gateway for your network)

4 sounds good on the Green Ethernet settings. I'll leave it as default value.

Yes, better to just let those unless you have weird problems with ports disconnect, who can sometimes be caused by Green Ethernet, but if there's nothing like leave it on and save a few watts.

5 sounds good on does not need to attach my passage to my Cisco account. Should I fill out a form any registration of the product with Cisco before calling support?

It is not a record for support.  The only thing we need you to do is to create a Cisco account, but you have already done this, so if/when you call in support, you just need your ID for Cisco (also called a CCOID sometimes) and the serial number of your switch.

    6. thanks for the info on the Service contract. Is it something that I would need to order directly from Cisco or I who would get my Cisco partner (Provantage)? After the three years is up, treat yourself to renewal or it just falls? Is there a certain amount of time I have to buy the Service Contract forward make me ineligible?

Support contracts are purchased through a partner Cisco, or you can get them online for the CDW or Newegg for example.  Basically, you have until the expiry of your current aid for the purchase of a new contract.  For example, right now your switch comes with 1 year of technical support.  You can only buy a contract while it is still active.  Once your three-year contract is about to run out, you're in the same situation.  You can renew it before it expires, however if you leave is up, you will not be able to put a contract on it.  Contracts are not my specialty, however, so you can check with your partner for complete details.

    7. sounds good to how data use VOIP calls. His dislikes too. :-)

I agree, a voice call is not much traffic.  What you have described you probably don't have problems, although of course I can't guarantee that.

    8. because it is from your provider and they specifically mentioned the VOIP, I would say that you'll be fine here.

You had also placed on your airport using access point behind a router in small businesses.  I would like to say that it is possible, a large number of wireless routers have an option to put access point only mode or something like that, but you should check with Apple on how to do it.

Insofar as a Small Business router if you decide to upgrade for the options VLAN or QoS, I would recommend the RV180, or perhaps the RV320.  Two of these models are available with or without wire depending on what you decide to do with the airport.

I think I got all the questions, but if not just let me know,

  • SG200 - 26 configuration newbie question VLAN

    Hi all

After using a Netgear switch for years, this is my first Cisco switch now and it drives me crazy because it is much more "professional" than the Netgear one...

    My question is:

My router, I am connected to the switch with two separate interfaces that should work like two "zones". GE25 for LAN, GE26 for the WLAN.

    Now, I have connected my

    • LAN devices to ports to GE24 GE4
    • WLAN devices to ports GE1 to GE3

How should I configure VLAN so that the port groups mentioned above do not see between them them?

You can assume that I would use a VLAN ID

    • 10 for the LAN
    • 100 for the WLAN

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

    Best regards

  • Make two cheating SG200 four switches with vlan

    Hello

I have two switches SG200 I want to divide it into 2 VLANS totally independent.

My guess is that I could create a VLAN #2 and then assign 1-24 of VLAN (default) #1 and ports 25-48 of VLAN #2.

Do the same with the second switch.

And finally connect the cable from the port 1 switch 1 to port 1 of the 2 switch and

another cable to port 25 on switch 1 to port 25 on switch 2.

For some reason, devices can bee 'ping' on the same ports vlan switch 1 but cannot reach the devices on the switch 2.

Is there a way to do this with SG200 switches?

    Thank you

    It is a valid topology.

Any individual connection to the router should be UNTAG vlan 1 and vlan 2 UNTAG.

Any connection host for the vlan 1 should be vlan 1 UNTAG, any connection host in vlan 2 should be vlan 2 UNTAG. Marking only that we care is between the switches, 1u, 2 t trunk. Everything else is respectively not marked.

  • Restricted Inter-VLAN with SG200-26 and SG300-10 routing

    Hi all

My apologies if this has been covered elsewhere.

My organization would like to organize a LAN game activity. The installation program I have in mind involves a switch 24 ports to connect all computers in player and saw that the switch connected to a smaller 'core' which has the connected the router and game server. I would like to know if I can put things up as follows...

SG200-26 with 1 to 24 ports on VLANS separated so they can talk to eachother. I'd then ports 25 and 26 to be a trunk aggregated (for bandwidth and redundancy) port to carry all 24 VLAN more an additional management VLAN (VLAN 100 e.g.) that will be used to access the switch. I want these aggregated trunk ports to connect to a 'core' SG300-10 switch that is connected to the game server and a router for internet access.

I would like to than the possibility of having two network connections of the server to the switch, one on the management of VLANS and the other on a VLAN different (e.g. 50 VLAN) which will be accessible by players (ports 1-24 of SG200-26). The power switch needs to be able to perform routing inter - VLAN restricted, because it does not VLAN 1-24 of eachother talk but they can talk to VLAN server, but only through specific service ports (e.g. 12345, 12346 port). Is this possible?

Also how I configure the SG300-10 to enable the VLAN 1-24 of VLAN 50, but not to talk or VLAN 100. So, I will probably have the router on its own LAN VIRTUAL (VLAN 60 ex.) and allow for VLAN 1-24 for access, but only via HTTP port 80 for web access.

    What do you think?

    Thank you.

Hi Marc, the default gateway of the computers will be the SVI to the switch.

    Router-> couche3-> SG300 layer 2 SG300

    router is 192.168.1.1

    VLAN 1 in 300 SG is 192.168.1.100

    2 VLAN on 300 SG is 192.168.2.1

    SG300 layer 2 has a 1u, 2 t trunk.

My computer to connect to an access port 2 unidentified on the layer 2 SG300.

I am able to ping 192.168.2.1

I am able to ping 192.168.1.100

    I can not 192.168.1.1 pnig

The reason is that the router has no idea on this subnet so cannot send the package to the source 192.168.2.x subnet.

The ACL and the basic connection are 2 different animals. The ACL is to prevent intervlan communication. The basic connection must be tags trunk and vlan or static routes.

  • Help the VLANS on Cisco SG200 - 08 p switch voice and data

    Hi all

    I'm faced with a problem of configuration on the Cisco SG200 - 08 p.

We use Cisco SG200 - 08 p on a mobile carriage which will go from classroom to classroom who will have computer and phone VoIP cisco plugged into it. The question is that each of our closets are in different VLANS (1 voice and 1 data... Let's say data vlan 20 and vlan voice 2025 for conversation) and which move towards every closet.

It would be great if I could just create a vlan voice dynamically pick up this switch upstream has however and generic data, it seems that I was failed to do.

So far, I can pass the data Vlan no probably. The upstream switch port is set to access port and a switch port access voice vlan (these are x 3750 switches)

If the above is not possible, I guess I'll take what I can get. Should I create data vlan 20 and vlan2025 of the voice on the Cisco SG200 - 08 p and make a port on the Cisco SG200 - 08 p and a trunk trunk on the 3750 x? Is there an option on the Cisco SG200 - 08 p to tag voice traffic?

I am also concerned about DRIFTING and I did not see an area in the Cisco SG200 - 08 p to set it as a customer and a transparent mode.

    Thanks for any help,

    Dan

    Playne,

first the bad news, the switches for small businesses currently do not support VTP, they support the GVRP Protocol which is like VTP, but there is no State that the VLAN used it will not automatically learn as VTP.

You should be able to configure the 3750 as a trunk with a vlan 1U or unmarked and vlan 2025 as the tag for the voice. configuration of the port on the switch to small businesses the same way to its home port. All ports which have only phones will be 2025U of access and all ports only PC would be access 1U. All ports of phone and computer would be trunk 1u, 2025T

  • Help with the VLAN on SG200-18 and two switches SG200-08

Hello world. My apologies, but I'm only average at best with my CISCO skills. I have simple installation running some network devices connected via 3 CISCO switches. It is small office and two bedrooms - one with the servers and the other with the printer and pc. Each room has 8 ports SG200-08 pass.
