Intermittent message "No Signal" on the monitor

I have a dual monitor Setup and everything worked perfect for a year or two until I've had a deadlock and restart to get the gel.  Now, monitor #1 has work fine except is has a small window in the middle that says no signal.  From time to time the black monitor and then come back on without this little message, but then the message reappears.  Any thoughts?  Thank you

I checked a similar script posted here and the solution that worked for me, so far.  I turned off the computer, has turned off the display, disconnected the cable (both ends), reconnected the cable (both ends), turned on the monitor, started the computer.  Problem solved.  Thank you!

  • 750se envy: envy of the brand new office no signal to the monitor via HDMI

Just got my new 750se envy and 25 x 25 backlit monitor. After putting it all together, I connect the monitor of the Tower via HDMI. Tower boots, display lights, I pop in setting up the drive, but the monitor says that it cannot find a signal. I test my old monitor to the new Tower (a monitor of series pavilion aged 7 years). Same results. The Tower seems to be the treatment given that you can hear what it read the disc.

I take another hdmi cable and and test exactly as described above. New monitor, new Tower and new hdmi cable still no signal. Old monitor, new Tower and new hdmi cable still no signal.

Just to be sure, I plug my new monitor to my old HP Pavilion desktop computer. Tower lights up as usual, and the new monitor immediately comes to life with color. I can safwly guess it's the tower. I open the side panel and check all jacks to make sure they are warm and fully attached. Nothing seems to be loose or out of place.

I start to sting online for answers. I met this reset of the BIOS. Press F10 to 8 seconds, down, 3 times arrow, enter twice and restart. Nothing. Still no signal. Can I assume there is something wrong with the Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 and windows the cause? Maybe turn hdmi ports are messy? It was the only other subjects I really found on the issue. Everything seems to work, just no signal between the monitor and Tower.

  • No Signal to the monitor, keyboard, or mouse HP 110-023w running 64-bit Windows 8.1 desktop

My computer (Nr H5P41AA) crashed all of a sudden the other day.  I tried to get as much information as I could when it came down, but everything happened so fast that all I could write were "Imminent failure", "file: hiberfil.sys," and "error Code: 0xc0000411.»

I don't remember to make changes to the system in at least a week of his disappearance, but I can tell you that this machine had a reason strange sleep/wake extended since the day that I brought home.  If I used it for about 10 minutes, it will turn off.  After another 10 minutes or more, it would turn itself back on, and this behavior would continue as long that I didn't stop the system.  Because I used to access the computer several times during the day, this is a not particularly bother me, so I never it investigated further.

In addition, there was a strange situation in the region of defragmentation/optimization, where the drives C and D have been indicated with another player that was something like 23% fragmented, but try as I might, there was no way I could do something with this third disc.  Googling the question gave me an opinion agree that the best thing to do was to leave him alone, that's what I did.

I took to solve my problem of measures have included, check the monitor cable, mouse and keyboard all work by trying on my Windows Vista machine, I had to resurrect this report and seek solutions to my dilemma.  I also tried a DVI cable, reinstall the RAM and tried a hard reset, all to nothing does, and my Vista computer monitor does not work when connected to the computer of 8.1.

Without a monitor, mouse and keyboard, I'm at a complete loss trying to figure out what to do next.  How can I determine if the problem is in the motherboard, hard drive, BIOS or something else?  And, since I didn't get this machine for a full year until October 18, how can I check if this is because of something I can do inadvertently or if it is only something covered by my warranty?

Thanking you in advance for your willingness to help, hopefully soon be eternally in your debt via your recommendations for a solution to this madness.

  • HP Z820 workstation: Z820 HP does start, fans at high speed, no BIOS, no signal in the monitor.

    Hello world

    My listing of workstation: HP Z820, Dual Xeon E5-2687W @ 3.1 - 3, 8 GHz, graphic card Nvidia quadro K5000, 64 GB RAM, 2 x 500 GB HARD drive.
The workstation is still under warranty.

They arrived after upgrade to Windows 10 (from 8.1 to Windows) and put such BIOS updated as recommended by HP support Assistant.

I was on the process to refresh the 10 Windows , then the system automatically tried rebooting to complete the update, but he never did it again! and then the fans running at full speed. After waiting for 2-3 minutes, I had to hold the power button to turn off the computer.

After waiting for about 10 minutes, I tried to start the computer, but the same thing happened: you press the button power and then after about a minute , fans rotating at high speed, no signal, no BIOS, no noise, no power in the keyboard or mouse, the blue LED light to the rear.

So I let the computer without power for 7 hours... (The power cable is disconnected).

At 11:00: reconnected the power cable (HDD and DVD ROM are DISCONNECTED) and tried to start but the same thing happened.

Now, I'm on google to find a solution:

    1. power? (Have not yet been tested food.)
2 motherboard? No damage to the capacitors or anything else.
3 reset the BIOS/CMOS? (Power disconnected cable) Removed the battery and put it back it, held the CMOS button for 5 seconds.
4 graphics card? Replaced the K5000 Quadro with a Quadro 4000.
    5. exercise of the power of the system? held the power button with the power cord unplugged for 30 seconds.

None of the above solves the problem but now when you press the power button / the fans start to run at high speed immediately! This got worse?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The problem is a faulty motherboard and it was replaced under warranty.

  • Popups message "OSD Lockout" in the HP monitor

    Original title: monitor problem

I am running win 7 Home premium on an emachines PC. My monitor is a H/P. I got it about two months and it work perfect. Tonight I started getting a message on screen says "OSD Lockout". It comes and goes. I can still browse. I also received a message that there is no input signal and the screen went black for 10-15 seconds, then he'd be back. He was intermittently displays also the monitor on the screen menu. I picked up and reconnected the VGA cable. I cycled the power on the monitor and the PC. Everything's fine now except the message "OSD Lockout" keeps popping up every few seconds. I tried the menu button within 10 seconds to unlock the screen, but it does not correct the problem. What should I do now? I don't have another monitor to use for test purposes.
    Thank you

Thanks Kevin, I appreciate the help. I tried these methods, but the problem is comes them and goes. When it is "spoil" the menu-------/ + / select buttons on the screen are unusable. Sometimes they work and sometimes they are not. From what I've read online there is a map of circuit board for those switches and it is probably going bad. I have come across a temporary fix on the internet that seems to work at least until I get a new monitor. If you press the menu button and stuck a toothpick at the top to hold in it seems to solve the problem! It works for me now!
    Thanks again for the help,

  • off message input signal range by turning on pc - monitor hp s2031

    Hello

I have a HP S2031's monitor I got a few weeks ago.  After I got a new video / graphics card in the computer (because the original card couldn't handle all around 1600 x 900 (60 Hz) great things.)  However, I just noticed that when I turn on the monitor and the pc - first before windows starts it is a message indicating that the input signal is out of reach of the settings at 1600 x 900 at 60 Hz.

Now, I don't remember see this message when the original video card was in the pc ~ but I also don't always stay right there while windows starts so I can't say with certainty that the message did not exist with the original video card.

I go to the menu on the screen section and settings are set for 1600 x 900 at 60 hz and I also right click on the desktop and in the display so that settings can also be programmed correctly it and everything is set correctly.

This isn't a problem, unless I'm trying to access the bios.    I tried to go into bios to see what kind of options are there for the video configuration and the only options we configuration video AGP Aperture Size (64 MB). Main (AGP) graphics card. AGP hardware detected - AGP card. Only problem was that at the time where I got this far in the bios that the monitor went to sleep on me. which makes it difficult to get out of the bios and boot the computer normally on the monitor going to sleep on me.

Anyone has an idea as to why I'm getting that message about the input signal and how do I fix as well as how do I stop the monitor going to sleep while I'm in the bios?

I am running Windows XP Professional with sp3 and all updates and the monitor is the HP S2031.  The graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce FX5200 and the monitor is connected to the pc with the monitor's DVI port since this card has only 2 ports dvi on it. I had an old card in the pc (which has the VGA port) but he could not show the 1600 x 900 with this card (and I'm not sure that the message was there with the old card, since most of the time that I'm not just sitting there waiting to start everything)

I didn't notice the message until today and nothing has changed - other than the new video card and who is in the pc for about 2 weeks now.

Any help would be much appreciate.

    Hello

Sorry that it took so long to get back to you, but things have been very busy here (between the two to get hit with a foot of snow before Halloween and loss of power for a week still to go back to normal)

In any case, as for the video card - it is a card ASUS NVidia GeForce FX 5200 which has 2 DVI connectors which him.  According to the information on the map

Expansion / connectivity Compatible Slots 1 x AGP connectivity Interfaces

    1 x S-video input - 4 pin mini-DIN (with adapter), 1 x S-video output - 4pin mini DIN (with adapter), 1 x video composite input - RCA (with adapter), 1 x video output composite - RCA (with adapter), 2 x DVI - I - 29 pin combined DVI, VGA - HD D - Sub (HD-15) 15-pin (with adapter)

Anyway, I tried to plug the monitor into the other DVI port, and it now works fine.  I guess that a port is bad or it is not intended for making that comes with this monitor.

Thanks for the help and suggestions.  So they were very much appreciated.

  • No signal detected from the monitor

    Hi all

Built for computer spec - December 2005

    HD-MAXTOR WD5000AADS - new may 2011

    PSU-foxtail BN106 L7 530W-new in May 2011

The last month replaced CMOS battery.

I spent most of the last 14 hours or more trying to find a reason for the above message on my monitor BENQ FP71G + flat screen.

When I turned on the computer this morning, it starts in Windows and office, but less than a minute, the screen froze.

The cursor would not move and no buttons worked.

I tried the button on the front of the case and the light on the monitor did not turn green.

I lit it and upward came the message 'no signal detected '.

I tried several times but I got this message each time.

I had to use the "switch" on the front of the box to turn off.  I turned on and off several times - I could hear the pip MB and windows intro music but the screen don't start - it stayed orange [standby].  The activity light also flashes as Windows goes through commissioning.

I tried to use the WIN XP SP2 disk and the disk of the software for the GPU at the start, but are recognized.

I checked the monitor [with cable] on another computer and it works.  I have not tried another monitor on the desk.

I spent a little time to read a lot of Google links [which most tend to all refer to each other] and have not found a solution, other than the suggestion that the GPU is deceased or the MB is dead [or both, if the GPU has overheated]

I just found a link to the subject of this thread when you search forums answer.

I'd appreciate it if anyone has a solution to this problem.

  • Black screen and mode standby with the message "no signal".

Correctly, it's... kind of weird, I use my computer and the monitor for a year or 2 now and don't never had real problems. The thing is that when I got home last night I found my black screen and standby mode (as if the computer was turned off (which it wasn't)). I thought that the reset will solve the problem, and so I did and didn't get the message "no signal". All tried, reconnecting cables, reset several times I could count... nothing helped for awhile.

At any given time during one of my restarts it reworked all of a sudden no aparent reason. So going on my daily buissiness I want to get back in the saddle, when I accidentally hit the side of my computer with a book and the screen went to 'no signal' again. Just tried again and even used my cell phone to check if the monitor was working,... now comes the weird part,... also on my laptor monitor is having problems with "no signal", but only when I do my main screen. It works as a secondary screen, but I can't get the context in which to work. (finding that I'm guessing that this problem is not related to my normal computer, but I'm not sure).

I am running vista and got a nvidia 8800GT graphics card. Also, I noticed something that is at any time using both the hdmi cable on the graphics card or using the socket with the internal chipset of my computer makes no difference. in both cases, I get "no signal" and the screen goes to sleep... Is there someone who can help me and tell me what probably is the problem here? I'm really looking forward to the answers, thank you very much for your time and effort.

    Hi Ron Suykerbuyk,

If you are comfortable, then try to remove the CPU cover and check if the graphics card is well connected to the motherboard. Even if it is connected correctly, you can try to reconnect the graphics card and check.

    Hope this information is useful.

    Hello

When I play a HD-DVD on my G30-220 LCD_panel, it works like a charm (with the Toshiba HD - DVD player software).

When I switch to dualview to export the signal through HDMI to my LCD TV (HDCP), I get an error message:

' Cannot implement the signal. Please switch to the internal display "(this is not the exact English message. I get the error message in Dutch and I've translated).

    Hello

As much as I know the dual display is not possible. Either watch you on LCD display or on the TV. The two of them at the same time will not work. Reason because it's the protection against copying, and also because of very high data transfer.

I tested it with Qosmio friends on my LCD HD-ready TV.

  • Paviollion HP HPE 112Y - no video SIgnal from the computer - monitor works

I have a desktop HP Pavilion HPE 112Y.  About two weeks, the video has stopped working.  I replaced the HDMI cable, we replaced a VGA cable, etc with no luck.  I plugged in the screen of my laptop and it works fine, then it is certainly the office.  All I get is a message "No. Sigmal video»

I tried to connect the monitor directly on the edge of VGA video connection - without going through the video card.  No luck.

.  I can not get the system starts from the CMOS or restore screen.  Hard drive runs, but goes into the cycle of continuous type "whiring.

System is about 2 years old, running Windows 7 64 bit.

    Help!

    Hello

    Try this procedrue:

Disconnect the PC and open it. Clean all the dust. Carefully, remove and replace all the cables towards the mother board one at a time. Do the same for memory DIMM and the video and the sound of cards if you have a.  You can buy a can of compressed air to blow the dust out of the heatsink from the CPU.  Plug your PC back in and give it a go.

If the above does not help this procedure: power.  Do not skip steps.

Finally, try to clear the CMOS memory.

  • I managed to do my monitor outside my main monitor, but it says no signal and the screen of my laptop is black. Help, please

    Hello someone,.

I wanted to connect my laptop to my TV to use it as a secondary monitor. Me being me, I somehow changed settings so that when I plug in my TV, my laptop screen goes black and my TV screen turns blue with no signal. Is it possible to restore the settings when I have it plugged first and it worked?
    Thanks for any help :)

    Hi johnrodden,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft community!

I'm sorry to hear that you have a problem with the external monitor.

1 turn off your computer and unplug the monitor, but leave the mouse and keyboard connected.

    2. connect the appropriate video cable from the video port on your computer to your TV.

    3. turn on your TV and set it to the input that matches the video port connected to your computer. You may need to refer to your TV user guide for instructions on how to do it.

    4 turn on your computer.

You should see windows displayed on your TV.

If you do not see an option named multiple displays in your display settings, then Windows isn't detecting a second monitor plugged into computer. Or else, it does not detect an external monitor plugged into your laptop. When Windows detects this monitor, it will appear in the drop-down list next to the screen. If you do not see that what listed there, try click on Detect.

Make sure that the monitor you want to extend your desktop is turned on and plugged on the video appropriate port on your computer. You may also need to select the correct source labeled on the controls of your monitor to ensure that the monitor is using the correct video port. For more information, consult the manual of your monitor or go to the manufacturer's Web site.

Please set up multiple monitors once more, referring to this article:
