Internal Hostname Ping problems

Running on my internal network (just a plain jane workgroup) that does not connect.

When I Ping any machine on my network from another machine on my network, he decides:

hostname. Linksys.com (a random IP address)

Request Timed Out

Request Timed Out

Request Timed Out

Request Timed Out

I know I should get (hostname) (ip address of the router assigned) 192.168.1.100

Reply from 192.168.1.100

Setting of the router is causing this problem?   Using the RV042.

The RV042 now reports to the Cisco Small Business Support Community.

  • ASA 5505 VPN Ping problems

    Hi all

First of all, I apologize if this is something that I can google. My knowledge of the administration of the network is all self-taught, so if there is a guide that I missed please point me in the right direction, it is often difficult to Google the terms for troubleshooting when your jargon is not the height.

The main problem is that when ping devices internal when you are connected to the results are very inconsistent.

Ping 192.168.15.102 with 32 bytes of data:

    Reply from 192.168.15.102: bytes = 32 time = 112ms TTL = 128

We have implemented an IPSec VPN connection to a remote Cisco ASA 5505. There is no connection problems, connection seems constant, etc. good packages. At this stage, I can only assume I have configuration problems, but I was watching this while if long and pair with my inexperience configuration of these settings I have no idea where to start. My first impressions are that LAN devices I'm ping do not send their response back or the ASA does not know how to route packets back?

Here is a dump of the configuration:

Output of the command: "show config".

    Hi Graham,

My first question is do you have a site to site VPN and VPN remote access client.

After checking your configuration, I see you don't have any Site to SIte VPN configuration, so I'm assuming you ara facing issue with the VPN client.

And if I understand you are able to connect VPN client, but you not able to access internal resources properly.

I recommend tey and make the following changes.

    First remove the following configuration:

NAT (inside) 0 inside_nat0_outbound_1 list of outdoor access

    NAT (inside) 1 192.168.15.192 255.255.255.192

You don't need the 1st one and I do not understand the reason for the second

Second, one is your pool IP subnet (192.168.15.200 - 192.168.15.250) and I don't know why you added this NAT.

If possible change your subnet pool all together because we do not recommend to use th ip POOL that is similar to your local network.

Try the changes described above and let me know in case if you have any problem.

    Thank you

  • Intel 5300 in T400 high Ping problem!

I bought a laptop T400 with a wireless card intel 5300 a few days ago, and I have installed the latest driver from intel which is v12.1.2.1 for 32-bit vista.

I tried ping the gateway of my house, then feedback between 300-500 ms, sometimes going to 900msand sometimes the sound directly outdoors. I also tried to use my other card USB wireless to test this problem on T400, then it was fine, feedback constantly 206ms.

IM using vista 32 bit with SP1, and I tried to reinstall vista as well and test without any software, then same problem.

but, on my other pc, PING feedbacks are very good, constantly 206ms, if someone knows what's the problem? THX

Check your 5300 card power management settings and make sure they are all set for maximum Performance.

    See you soon,.

Do not use automatic synchronization. Choose for yourself what songs to put and where to put them.

  • Application VPN ping problem

I installed a vpn for access to HVAC equipment suppliers.

    The profile is RCPS_Vendor

Here are the steps I took:

    remote access, outside of the--> psk (password), RCPS_Vendors-> authentic local name-> Hoff_Vendor (password)-> RCPS_Vendors 192.168.10.2-192.168.10.128->10.1.252.101/103->3DES SHA 2-> 3DES SHA->10.0.0.0/8 en split tunnel

    from: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/asa71/getting_started/asa5500/quick/guide/rem_acc.html

The question is the seller has ping internal unit, and its program does not connect to units.

    Updated the attached config.

    Thanks in advance.

All receivers are a section of the ASA, so could you put this static route on each of these units. That would point to the inside interface on the ASA. The ASA would use its default route to send traffic to the VPN clients.

If the receivers are further inside your network and you are using a dynamic routing protocol, you can redistribute the static route to 192.168.10.0/24 on the next (from ASA) inside your network hop router so that the internal units default gateways to know where to send the traffic destined to 192.168.10.0/24.

Since your remote clients are sending traffic in VPN tunnels I don't think you need to add an ACL on the ASA to allow specific traffic from VPN clients for the receivers.

    Hey guys!

    Need your help!

I'm setting up an ACS 1113 and I had a weird problem, I turned off the CSA to enable pings ok, it works on my PC for ACS but GBA cannot ping my PC!

I also have another problem, I can access the ACS and all configured but when I put it on the network I can't access it, then I put it directly connected to my PC I can access the web interface normally.

I don't know what happened... I saw a post that says that I should set up directly connected to the network... but I did not I have connected my laptop and composes the tests before putting on the network...

Someone knows why? and what is the job for her arround?

You have the stateful firewall "always you" checked. This is a version of the Zonealarm firewall Runtime based on the host. It's 'on' even when you're not connected via VPN client. Great security.

  • Internal hard drive problem

I just hard drive of my laptop, replaced by a service center because it is still under warranty. They replaced my old hard drive with a HTS541040G9SA00 that when I search on the internet I discovered that is made by HITACHI, im wondering if it is safe to use this drive or is it compatible with my computer toshiba laptop and that i will not be a problem to use it. Thank you!!!

If a service is to swap your disk that worry Don t, they must use original parts. So if your hard drive is not available, they had to use a spare part which is compatible, too.

I had the same situation with my machine. I got a samsung player, then, after a headcrash I brought to a service partner and they exchanged the drive and put a toshiba in there. I asked them the same question you have posted and they said the same thing what I you said. ;)

So I just give you a little information. :)

    Welcome them

  • ASA - upgrade to 8.4, impossible to ping inside the interface via IPSec VPN

We have configured a site 5, site to site VPN scenario.   Last week, we have upgraded 2 devices ASA 5505 to 8.4.2.   Before the upgrade, our monitoring software would ping the inside interface from remote devices to confirm VPN tunnels were established, as well as the addresses of remote devices and the outside of the ASA.   While we were on 8.2, remote equipment successfully ping the inside interface.   After that we went to 8.4.2 we can do a ping to this interface.   We looked at the newspapers and we see the ICMP traffic that is listed in the newspaper, but the remote equipment does not receive back icmp traffic.   We can ping successfully from local hardware interface inside and the external interface of remote devices successfully.  In addition, we can ping material behind the two devices in both directions successfully.

We are unable to remotely manage the device through the VPN tunnel

    Net is:

    ASA #1 inside 10.168.107.1 (running ASA 8.2)

    ASA #2 inside 10.168.101.1 (running ASA 8,4)

    Server 1 (behind the ASA #1) 10.168.107.34

    Server 2 (behind the ASA #2) 10.168.101.14

Can ping server 1 to 1 of the SAA

    Can ping server 2-ASA 2

can not ping ASA 1 and 2 of the ASA

    Hey Joseph,.

Most likely, you hit this bug:

    CSCtr16184            Details of bug
To-the-box traffic switches vpn hosts after upgrade to 8.4.2.
    Symptom:
After the upgrade of the ASA to 8.4.2 all management traffic to employment (including the)
ICMP/telnet/ssh/ASDM) hosts via the VPN (L2L or remote access VPN) can
fail the IP access address to the administration. Conditionsof :
    1. the problem occurs if ASA is on 8.4.2. Not been seen on 8.4.1.
    2. the user directly logged in the face of internal interfaces no problem with
ICMP/telnet/ssh/AMPS in their respective interfaces. Workaround:
The problem goes back to a Manual NAT statement that straddles the
address IP-access to the administration. The NAT must have both the
source areas and destination. Add the keyword "research route" at the end of
the statement by NAT solves the problem. Ex:
IP address access to the administration Interface of the ASA is 192.168.1.1. ! Statement by NAT overlapping:
NAT obj destination - 192.168.1.0 obj - 192.168.1.0 Shared source (indoor, outdoor)
    VPN-vpn-obj static obj! New declaration:
NAT obj destination - 192.168.1.0 obj - 192.168.1.0 Shared source (indoor, outdoor)
public static obj - vpn vpn-obj-research route

  • Satellite M40X Screen Display problem

My Satellite M40X has a black vertical line which occupies 20% of the screen on the left side. The rest of the screen shows a full view. Change the display settings makes no difference, and there is no mention of this error in the manual. You don't know whether a problem with the LCD screen or a problem with the adapter and drivers. Wanted to check if someone has experienced something similar and can advise you.

    Hello

    Check using an external monitor.

If the same vertical line would be seen on the external monitor, an internal graphics card problem may be possible
In this case replace the defective

Since the GPU is a part of the mobo, you need to replace the motherboard that can be a costly affair

The file seems to play, but no sound, same change of settings in ffdshow and volume, etc. This only occurs with MP3 - FLAC/OGG/all other format plays very well. I wish I could play with MP3s, although the majority of my music collection is stored with it. I imported even mp3s to my laptop (vista 64) and they all play fine. Wow running by himself and his BGM internal gives no problem as well.

The thing is when I turn off WoW, everything going well again, both WMP and MPC - HC read the files without a problem. Is there a whole corrupted / a few bad compatibility problem/driver setting that I need to check? Blizzard, the creators of WoW, says the game is fully compatible with Windows 7 64 bit, so I don't know what else to do. Please help me! Thank you

Hello MMC91, have seized the latest drivers for your sound card?  I suggest to hit Windows Update first and see if ago listed there, if so install them.  If this is not the case, check the Web to Realtek site. • wireless connection problems vista adapter usb wireless 802.11 b/g #2

my HP pc used to connect to my internal wireless, no problem. I know the wep key and had several hours of navigation...
I move for a year, come back. apparently my PC doesn't connect now... in fact, it won't even connect with a CABLE!
He repeats to me ' identify with. "
Well, Vista has been updated since and I've been usng a mobile dongle (at GREAT expense!) to try to update, but now I'm sick of the cost and I need internet access appropriate again!

    Thank you for responding Srinivas
I don't know the model but it is a HP, three or four years now.
I had all sorts of messages of "not able to connect" and limmited conectiviy... I'm sure I had a relative at all simply have no connection
the browser, I would have used that I had connected would be Firefox, but it has yet to get to the point that I was getting nothing. bytes sent might be higher than anything but received nill.
at the time, I was unable to get ANY connection NET... for all intensive purposes, I've been totally disconnected

I had tried everything that arises, each suggestion had windows, but it made no difference... even a connection WIRED sitting to 'authenticate '.

Odly enough, who are seeking to solve a problem with my scandisk is not not be able to access C drive I have run "services.msc".
looking through everything that might stop the player access, I found that the DHCP Client does not work... I made sure it runs automatically and (because I checked my settings of a few hundred times) the network came as a light!

I don't know what turned it off because none of the programs I run affected before (I haven't installed any new programs since then be disconnected from the network)

Thanks for the reply. I hope this information helps in similar cases in the future :)

  • Could not locate the backups on an internal hard drive

original title: had to re install vista, saved on another disc internal using backup windows and restore before hand but the pc can't see the old backups to the internal drive?

Hi, Ive got the OS vista home premium 32-bit os hdd (c) corrupt so re-installed. OK, so far... problem is my backup and restore stuff was recorded on one additional internal (e) hdd, problem is when I went to restore "the files selected" I needed, the ku'damm pc wouldn't even not watch on the backup drive internal and I wanted to just do a restore of the next point. seemed a bit of a waste of time, buying an extra drive just to save up if operating system wont even look after a clean install. I'm not stupid... but I'm confused... any help would be great :)

    Hello

    1. don't format you the other hard disk by accident during the reinstall of Windows?
2 - is a computer backup or backup of the data right?
    3. you see the other internal disk in the computer?

Follow these tips and give us more details.

    Suggestion 1:
    a. Click Start, click computer.
    b. If you can see the drive in the computer, and then open the drive and check if you can see the data here.

Also check the status of the internal drive in disk management.

    To open disk management:
Click Start, then type diskmgmt.msc in the start search box and press ENTER.

    Suggestion 2:
Try to restore the file by using the advanced restore option and check if you can see the hard drive.
    a. open the backup center and restore by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, and then restore and backup center.
    b. click Advanced Restore. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    c. click files from a backup made on a different computer and then follow the steps.

  • Internal access to the servers of the network security

    Hi all

I'm trying to set up a html to Internet to our internal virtual desktop computer connection.

From our internal network, all network traffic through the login server located on the internal network, no problem.

On the Internet, the connection is established with the Security Server, but when we try to access our desktop from view, security server tries to join the bureau with his private address that is not reachable from the demilitarized zone.

Blast Secure Gateway seems to be configured correctly, and we try to avoid the NIC pluging 2nd on security for access to our private network server.

    Any idea about this problem?

I read a lot of literature on this type of configuration, and it seems, that it should be possible without a second network adapter is not recommended.

Thanks a lot for your help.

    Kind regards

    Sylvain

To establish the Blast session via the Security Server, the SS will attempt to connect to the machine via TCP 22443 vDesktop, then Yes, you need to create a firewall rule that allows a NIC SS create a TCP 22443 with any IP virtual desktop connection.

This is essentially the reason why people add 2 interfaces to SS - a Public-facing DMZ network (can connect on the internet) and another private-DMZ in front of a network (not exposed to the Internet, only life SS here).

In the case of a single adapter, you must allow the Public DMZ network connections on your virtual desktop, which is not desirable in most cases.

    Architecture 2nic 'Typical' or town:

    Mighty Internet |   Public-DMZ |  Private-DMZ |   Internal network

    Customer > 443, 8443 |   SSPubNic |  SSPrivNIC > 22443 |  Any virtual office

+ firewall rules that allow the communication of the SS (above SSPrivNic probably deal) with CS

Direct connections to the internal network from the Internet or Public-DMZ net are not allowed.

In case of a single NETWORK adapter for your SS:

Mighty Internet |        DMZ                 |   Internal network

    Customer > 443, 8443 |   SSPubNic > 22443 |  Any virtual office

+ firewall rules that allow the communication of the SS with CS

In case of a single NETWORK adapter for your SS, you're allowing direct connections to a wide enough area of your network private directly from the network to the DMZ, which is exposed to the Internet and that should be attacked.

It should work. If it is acceptable from the point of view of security is something different and more likely to your security administrator.

Hope this helps and I hope that I forgot something important...
