Intel 5300 in T400 high Ping problem!

I bought a laptop T400 with a wireless card intel 5300 a few days ago, and I have installed the latest driver from intel which is v12.1.2.1 for 32-bit vista.

I tried ping the gateway of my house, then feedback between 300-500 ms, sometimes going to 900msand sometimes the sound directly outdoors. I also tried to use my other card USB wireless to test this problem on T400, then it was fine, feedback constantly 206ms.

IM using vista 32 bit with SP1, and I tried to reinstall vista as well and test without any software, then same problem.

but, on my other pc, PING feedbacks are very good, constantly 206ms, if someone knows what's the problem? THX

Check your 5300 card power management settings and make sure they are all set for maximum Performance.

See you soon,.

  • Problem with T500 Intel 5300 AGN WiFi fixed...

I finally found the solution to my problem today, and I write this information in the hopes that someone can verify in their environment, what I found in mine.  Also in the hope that it will save someone else the weeks of effort it took resolve.

To summarize, my problem was that I was able to stream audio or video from my local network or from the internet without losing connectivity frequently or permanently.  This problem started when several months ago I updated my laptop for Win 7 Professional of Vista Business.  I don't meet with the problem in Vista.

Today, I have determined that the problem is that I am under mixed mode on my LAN that is apparently supported by Win 7 for the Intel 5300 driver.  My router is D - Link DIR-655, which is a 802.11n router can be configured for mixed mode support.  I'm running that he configured for support because my wife's cell phone supports n and g as g.  I booted up my laptop today and I began an audio stream from my server and to my surprise it worked perfectly, just as it should.  I listened for a while and all of a sudden the music started to jump.  I noticed that my wife had started just his cell phone around the same time the jump began.  On a long shot, I went to the advanced configuration of the 5300 and disabled 802.11n support forcing them to disconnect and reconnect to 54 Mbps.  This action restored my audio stream immediately and I progressed to test several LAN and WAN connectivity actions (browser, e-mail, etc.) which previously guaranteed a discontinuity in the flow.  Everything continued to work exactly as you would expect.

I feel that the problem is with the driver 5300 rather than my router because to solve the problem, I have disabled 802.11n on the 5300, not on the router.  The D-Link still works in mixed g/n mode 802.11.  Also, I have a laptop Lenovo T61, which also has a good Intel WiFi AGN adapter to a different model.  This laptop works in n mode with no connection problems, either via the same router D-Link.

I hope that someone else on this forum allows to reproduce my results in their LAN/WAN environment to confirm that there is a problem with the driver Win 7 currently available for the 5300.  Thanks to Lenovo technicians, who spent several hours on the phone with me and even sent me a new adapter 5300 at a time, thinking that maybe the problem.

Okay, more than 24 hours now without any problems, 2.4 ghz and full rate of 270/300.  As with the GSM card, I tried the latest vista driver intel 5300 and poof, no problem loading.

I decided to do so after testing with some dual-band routers.  I noticed that it worked well on 5 GHz, but if it is locked at 2.4 it had problems with all routers.  It also worked well with dlink adapter USB N on 2.4 ghz.

Since he had worked in vista with 2.4 ghz, I decided to try this driver and was able to put all the settings back to full (power transmission, optimizations, etc.).

13.0.0.107? seems to have a bug of driver at 2.4 ghz.  The exact version is 12.4.4.5.  So far I have found no side effects (except without freezes or crashes on the 5300).

So, hope this works for others, if all goes well, next version of the driver it will solve, but mine works fine for now.

    Hello world

I have recentlly bought a new card WLAN Intel 5300 (533AN_MMW) for my Satellite A200 - 1 CG (PSAE3E...). I installed a new card without any problems, downloaded and installed new drivers (Win7) also.

    Hi jfj64,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

There are several ways to reduce your LAG, one of them is by adjusting your graphics and the sound settings so that the computer does not put as much effort in order to ensure that it is a standard better that they really need to be.

However, it is not only the game settings that are causing this high ping. Today, many of the internet, perhaps from different countries, have connections faster than others. If the majority of players on the server have a connection faster that you, then you will experience lag (they will be faster game speed).

Also, when you join a server, on the list of the browser, it is a good idea/good practice to check the ping to the server (it is described as the latency on the server list). This number is, the speed/quality it will on your computer.

You will never have the quality when playing on internet, as a lot of people come and go, different events in the game occur (which causes the game to freeze for a very small amount of time while the server updates).

The only real way to get rid of it must have a faster connection and check for latency on the server list. Firewall software and hardware is also responsible for some slowdowns on the game. However, these are necessary in order to ensure that your computer remains stable and free from virus.

I just got my X 301, which came with an Intel 5300 wireless card, and I went to install the AT & T 3 G Broadband Option currently for sale in the accessory store. So, turns, the 5300 is a large-format mini PCI-Express card... So the card 3G. Yet, as far as I know, I can plug a normal map, and I guess the other location is a half size card. It is behind the door of memory. What is the best course of action I can take?

Hi CryptoQuick and welcome to the Lenovo user community!

There is a full slot wide under the keyboard. That's where it belongs. There are a few nice movies showing how to install and other parts. Half size slot is for Turbo Memory or Wireless USB.

  • Intel 5300 r61e network adapter

Greetings!  Our company recently purchased a cargo of r61e and portable computers t61 Lenovo.  We try to do some beta testing for a wireless company that uses Intel 5300 MiniPCIe cards and are having some trouble getting laptops to recognize.  After installation of the equipment, during the attempt to start, the laptop gives error that unrecognized card is present and that it does not start.  You are using the latest version of the BIOS software and know that portable computers support these cards.  Can someone point me in the right direction to get my laptop to recognize this card?

    Thank you
    Marcus

you need to change your BIOS with the 'no-1802' hack to get a T61 to recognize a card 5300AGN or R61 to intel.   for help in obtaining a modded BIOS, contact zender via this thread on forum.thinkpads.com.   He must already have a copy ready to go.

FWIW, I have a 5300AGN in my X61s, but had to hack the BIOS to make it work.   Once you have a modded BIOS installed, generic intel card sold by amazon is the best way to get what you need.   the only downside is that the switch wireless on your thinkpad will no longer work on the wireless card.   FN + F5 is the only way to third-party power cards on or off.   you will need an original from lenovo for the switch card to work and it's about 4 x the price.   If you don't care the switch then get the card intel generic and save a handful of money.

    Good luck!

Click with the right button on the prompt in the start menu > all programs > assesories, then click on run as administrator. Type "netsh interface tcp set global autotuning = disabled" without the quotes and press ENTER. now, go to network and sharing Center and go to manage networks on the left side. Right-click on 'Local network connection' and go to properties. Not click on Qos packet scheduler and choose uninstall. You can google two of those to see what they are for, but with tcp auto tuning and qos all removed you will see great improvements. • T400 own install problem for the graphics card hybrid

I did a clean install on the T400 and installed all the drivers that are essential under the SWTools folder, but I see a problem with the card ATI will not work correctly.

After installation from the folder videos and restarted the laptop. There is a sign next to the 'ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3400 Series' in Device Manager

Under device status, I see the following error message

Has anyone seen this error? I tried to reinstall the driver again, but that does not solve the problem.
