Internet access via Wi - Fi lost to WRT54GS

I got a home network for the past two years.

ISP is Virgin Media (was Blueyonder) cable broadband.

Router is Linksys WRT54GS

Desktop computer is connected by cable to the router.

Laptop is connected wireless.

Two computers running Windows Vista

No settings have been changed, but all of a sudden the laptop can still connect to the network, but will not get on the internet.

The PING etc tests confirm that the laptop is on the network.

Laptop was returned to the PC World under extended warranty. They said, he had been infected with a form any of Scareware, preventing access to the internet, said that they had authorized, and the laptop connected wirelessly on their network. When I got home, it still wouldn't connect to the internet.

I formatted the hard drive and reinstalled Windows - still the same.

I have updated the firmware on the router - still the same.

I plugged the portable th. to a network of friends, and he got on the internet there. I also have it connected via ethernet to the modem cable, and it worked as well.

BUT I still can't connect to internet wireless - ideas please?

NP, it seems that all the connection settings on your computer is meaning, everything is normal. Have you checked if the values DNS on the router and your computer are similar?

If they are, do you know how to reset your router? Press RESET on the back of 30 seconds while the power is on and then perform the procedure here

To configure a router Linksys with cable Internet Service

Reconnect to the network without first setting the wireless security. Then see if you can go online. The mac address clone procedure on article should be done on your main computer. So, tell me if you can get online on both computers after the fact.

  • Satellite C660 - no internet access via WLAN when powered by the battery.

    Hi guys,.

Just bought a Toshiba Satellite C660 and went through the installation process and everything seemed simple and easy. However, this changed when I tried to use the laptop wireless. As long as I fed it with the AC adapter, all right. When I remove the adapter I lose the internet connection for about 3-5 minutes before it reconnects for about 1 min. Then, he constantly repeats the cycle.

I have a strong signal that shows as "Connected" to my wireless network in the network and sharing Center, but get the message "no internet access. I have another laptop and PS3 connected to my network wireless without any problem. I disabled them both where they do not interfere with the signal, but that made no difference. Therefore, I am sure that's not the router, the modem, or the wireless signal.

I checked to see if my WLAN adapter needs an update to the driver, but it shows that I have already installed the latest drivers. I tried to change the power settings for the adapter wireless of "Maximum Performance" all this without success.

In addition, it works fine on battery if plugged directly on the wireless router.

Can anyone offer advice on how to fix it, before I return it to the store?

    Thank you

It's called a VPN split tunnel.  They channel the resources of the company by the VPN and let your internet go out via your local internet connection. Some companies divide tunnel and a few all traffic, including internet (complete tunnel).

There is nothing you can do. This is how your system admins have set up.

  • Tab 2 A10 - 70F: Internet access via USB connected 3G / 4G device?

    Hello

The A10 - 70F Tab2 has WiFi only. Is it possible to connect to the internet with a connected USB 3G / 4G? With other words: the tab can handle? Anyone with experience?

    Thank you in advance,

    Michael

Yes is the short answer. And a few ways to do this:

    1 micro USB Dongle of 3 / 4 g

    2. micro USB to USB 'female' - then plug a 3 / 4 g USB Dongle

And a couple of less obvious ways:

1 WiFi connection to another mobile and use of mobile data of quotas (although plans only works on some data)

2 micro USB to Micro USB and connect a mobile as shown above (does not work on all devices, although I look at the phone and tablet to fight for the battery juice is hilarious)

    3. connected to a PC via the cable USB/WiFi connection internet PC use.

But yes, 3 / 4g Dongles work indeed & the Tablet seems to walk along very well with a micro USB version or a USB version with an adapter cable.

    Dear all,

I need a configuration using any. I have a small network of 15 users a 3560, which is in turn connected to a router ISR 2811. Interface fastethernet 0/24 switch 3560 I intend to connect to a unix based server RADIUS. ISP is connected on the opposite side of the 2811 to the fa0/0 interface.

I want to make is that if someone among the 15 users tries to access the internet, they must be validated in the RADIUS server by their pre-configured user credentials. (I'm going to store 15 user credentials here). If someone else tries to connect (except those 15) he or she should be denied internet access.

The RADIUS server will be having a login page to type the name of user and password.

  • Blu - ray 570 - internet access failed

I have problems connecting with my BRP570. I am running Mac OSX 10.6. I have a router Linksys WRT54G 2.4 Ghz and a Netopia modem. My internet is speed of 3 mbps. Everything worked perfectly for the last 10 months... until now.

When I connect the BRP-570 directly via an ethernet cable from my modem I get the message that the connection is OK and the internet access is OK.

When I connect the BRP-570 via a cable ethernet cable from the router attached, I get the message that the connection is OK and the internet access down.

But even when I go back and use the wired connection directly from my modem, where internet access is OK, I always get error messages when I try to connect to an online service such as Netflix, Hulu or Youtube.

I then get an error message saying "cannot find the server. "IP address:-.-.-.-
The irony is that when I run the numbers of network settings Internet status all IP and subnet mask and all appears well.

When I run the System Info screen I see all... EXCEPT at the very last line, it says "Provisioning Server Connection Status: failed.

I tried everything... resetting the network settings, the settings on my Mac OS x network settings. I tried the stealth mode and non-stealth mode in the settings of Pings. I tried to reset each device again.

Nothing makes no difference. I suspect it might have something to do with Earthlink, because he started after they reset the settings of my ISP. But even after clearing and reload all settings of network Sony BRP, the problem persists.

I don't know why they make a device that has so many hoops to jump through to connect. I noticed that the Sony site is much the same. At least I have type the EXACT name of the blu - ray player it will reject everything, as if there is no such thing as a BRP-570.

    Ugh... frustrated!

(I will not repost this twice, but I wanted to clarify more details in case anyone can be of any help. I'll start now to try to get in touch with Sony about this. (Thank you!)

p.s. just tried to call Sony. After having been harassed in broken English for 20 minutes on the basis of the ABC of modems and computers that I will be transferred to the next level of tech support tomorrow. I would call the Helpdesk of Sony as catastrophic to nonexistent. Frustrating!

    Hello
I have a few questions. Is your internet connection DSL or cable?
What is this before you went with Earthlink? How your computer connects to the Internet? Is the model number of your BRD570 player really or is - this BDP-s570? I can't find a US / Canada of this model. I might be able to give you a few things to try, but I need more information.

  • Causing the problems of internet connection Internet access server

I have covered a lot of discussions on this issue and have tried all the fixes I found relating to this issue but did not have a chance to find a solution to my problem. I apologize if this is a repeat post, but as I said, none of the questions I found helped.

    ------

I have 2 laptops (windows 7), 2 xbox 360 s, and smart phones that will all connect to my internet connection with a problem and run great.

However, I recently bought a PC oriented for the game, and I got this error because I got it.

I am able to connect to the Internet. Google has always works as Youtube, but youtube videos will stop eventually buffering until I have restart the browser.  Most of the games that I play online will launch and play very well in the beginning, but then they lose the internet connection and not return it until I have close the game and restart it, then it works very well for 5 minutes for an hour, but ends by loses connection again until I got close the game and start it again... However, when games lose connection if I Alt + Tab back on the desktop I'm always connected to the internet and can run my internet browser to always connect to google or youtube... Other sites are also affected (Netflix, Microsoft, Outlook, contraction, etc. all will simply keep the load and eventually tell me 'the site takes long to answer').

I tried the update of Device Manager, but it says it cannot find the updates for the server to access Internet with yellow Triangle /!

    In the currency manager<><>
"The drivers for this device are not installed (Code 28)

To find a driver for this device, click Update driver. »

When I click on "put updated pilot."

"Windows was unable to install your Internet access server .
Windows found driver software for your device.

If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit their website and check the support section for driver software. »

However after visiting the Linksys website, the only thing close to that I found was to update the firmware, which I did, but was still does not solve the problem, and I can't seem to find everything related to the Internet Access Service.

I then tried calling Linksys (router Linksys E1200 series), who directed, I call my ISP, which then make sure that my drivers are up to date.

At the beginning I was not able to check for an update for access to the Internet Server (all have been 'grayed out' and unclickable).  However after clicking on "Devices and printers" under the start menu, right click router<>

I tried also to open the command prompt

I did the "Winsock" fix according to the instructions and an IP reset via the command prompt, always with no success.

I spent about the last 48 hours trying to get this update with no luck, I finally met a thread with a post that seems to fix the problem for Vista, but I need the version of Windows 7 which has not been registered.  A member of the community had provided a link to download the driver I can't find for the life of me.

I'm typing this from my laptop (not the PC having problems) and it internet runs fine on this legacy without problems as are all other currencies clung to the same internet connection. The PC in question is the only one that is connected to the router, all the rest are wireless and work very well. (No wireless in the PC with the question card)  If I wired my laptop (with the same Ethernet cable that runs on the PC with the questions) my laptop connects to the internet and always runs very well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Dubz,

Thanks for posting your question on the forum of the Microsoft community.

I would like to know some information about the problem so that we can help you better.

    1. What is your default browser?
    2. What is the brand and model of your computer?

I appreciate your efforts to resolve the issue.

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:
If you are using Internet explorer as default browser, then please use the suggestions provided in this Microsoft Knowledge base article and check.
    Reference:
Internet Explorer does not start or stops responding
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/926449/en-GB

    Important notes:
Reset the Internet Explorer settings can reset security settings or privacy settings that you have added to the list of Trusted Sites. Reset the Internet Explorer settings can also reset parental control settings. We recommend that you note these sites before you use the reset Internet Explorer settings. Reset Internet Explorer is not reversible, and all the previous settings are lost after reset.

The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

    Also, please use method 2.

    Method 2:
I also suggest you try the steps in this Microsoft support article and check.
    Reference:
Automatically get recommended drivers and updates for your hardware
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/automatically-get-recommended-drivers-and-updates-for-your-hardware

    I hope this information helps.

Please let us know if you need more help.

  • Installed New Netgear Wireless Range extender but new network doesn't have internet access.

I just installed a machine net universal range extender for WiFi and the signal over the Wan is very strong, but when I connect to him he says that have no internet access. What should I change? I post what I'm on the Ext network.but when I try to access other sites, it won't let me.

I had the same problem as you and searched everywhere for a positive response and have not had a. I was about to return the netgear Extender when I, fortunately, has found a way around this strange problem.
In fact, it's really simple, and I encourage really all those who eventually get this problem complain to netgear not having their detailed in the guide installation process that they shipped with the product.

In my case, I have a WEP encrypted network.

If you can't access the web interface of the Extender, you need to reset the device by inserting a paper clip in the small hole next to the WPS button (if you don't know already).

When you are prompted for the encryption key and password for the network existing (the original one), you MUST WRITE THE PAST ON THE INPUT FIELD KEY word select and not the field the password. You can choose one of the 4 input key fields, but you MUST write the password on one of them and leave the field blank password (I think it's just for the WEP encryption, which is my case).

I also changed the encryption type for the new network "_EXT" from WEP to WPA/TKIP but kept the same password.

After the connection is complete the Extender successfully verified updates and all the IP addresses are assigned automatically via DHCP.

I hope that I answered in the time before returning the Extender because I don't have a kind of complained after doing this.

    Good luck
    Marlon.

  • Win XP - internet has suddenly stopped working - can't ping IPs - but Internet access web/mail/messenger

    Hello

This Windows XP desktop PC is connected to the Internet via a connection by modem.

The connection by modem connects fine, but I have no Internet access when you're connected.
Other computers using the same remote access settings still work fine.

The owner says that the problem started after a game hard reboot computer crash and following.

I tried IE, Firefox, Messenger, Thunderbird, etc.
All these programs fail instantly when you are trying to connect, as they do not recognize that there is an Internet connection.

I can ping IP Internet addresses, but I cannot ping names of site like www.google.com.
I can't connect to an IP with IE, so it doesn't seem to be just a DNS issue.

This remote access connection using a proxy (filter.voicenet.com:8241).
I checked the proxy for the modem connection settings are correct in IE and Firefox.
I have reset the TCP/IP stack.
I also ran the Winsock XP fix tool.

Norton is installed, but I ran Norton removal tool to completely remove the software.
    The Windows Firewall is disabled.
No other security software is installed as I know.

    I'm open to any ideas...

    Thanks for your time,

  • Need help with internet access on a Linksys E1200 strategy

Hi, I have an a Linksys E1200 (Firmware Version: 2.0.01), and September 13, 2012, I configured the Internet access policy to deny access to internet for 4 devices between the hours of 22:00 and 08:00 on the evening of the school.)  It was working fine! I was very pleased.

Over the last weekend, the electricity was launched for a second, the power was back on in 2-3 seconds if. The router comes back online, and everything seemed in excellent working condition. Then Sunday evening (considered to be a night of school in our House) at 22:00 the router did not refuse Internet 4 devices as it normally did. I logged into the control panel admin via a browser web, and checked access to internet strategies, I configured last week was still configuration property.

Everything was always configuration property to deny access to the internet for 4 devices Sunday night/Monday morning between 08:00 and 22:00. I checked that the router has the date and time. But the router is not always deny access as it was setup to do. It worked fine before the weekend, and then after the weekend it stopped working the property. The only thing I can think of this month of may of the cause is 2-3 seconds, the power went out then came back on. The router is connected through a surge protection.

Then I set up the Internt access policy week last to deny access to 4 devices on the night of the school between 22:00 and 08:00. I waited 24 hours to make sure it worked, after that it worked, I got the router send me a backup of the config file. I tried to use it to solve this problem, but it did not help either.

This is a screenshot of what looks like my Internet access policy. I had to create 2 policies because the router has refused to create a policy where the end time was not later than the start time. Anywho, so political #1 is from 22:00 to 11:55, and policy #2 is from 12: 00 to 08:00. This Internet access policy is configured to deny access to 4 devices between midnight and 08:00 Monday morning. It was working fine last week, so I'm 100% positive that it is the router.

The following screenshot is the status information to show the date and time of the router is correct.

So the router was Monday morning @ 03:00, the router has an active policy of internet access to deny the device access to the internet, the router had recently worked flawlessly to do this, but for some reason any, that he could not do this morning?

Can you please explain it to me or provide me with free software to "lock" the internet for specified devices. I really want to have to stay until 22:00 5 nights a week, so I can help my daughter sneaking online when she should be in bed. taking his phone and the laptop is not an option.

Thanks for reading, forward a reply as soon as possible.

    ~ Tony

Hello. I think that Yes, too, that it is a router problem. Just to isolate it, try to update the firmware and then reset and reconfigure the router again and use the same policies that have worked before. On Cisco's Web site, the latest firmware for version 2 is 2.0.04. You can download it here http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/support/routers/E1200.
