Internet connection blocked

I have Windows Vista SP2 running on a Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop. I am connected to the Internet directly via an IP network. Sometimes, when I try to connect to the Internet, it returns an error message saying that the connection cannot be performed because another computer is already using my IP address. In order to have correct, I need to call my Internet provider and they can unlock my connection to an end. They tell me that it is a known problem with Vista and a patch is available from Microsoft. However, I am unable to locate this patch on the site Ms. Everyone knows where it can be founded

  • T510 - blocks ethernet wired Internet connection

I'm really frustrated with Lenovo network management system. It seems too complex and too slow. In addition, on my home network, wireless always seems to be favored.

When I plug my ethernet connection, the system sees an unknown connection and down Internet access (although I can still see my local network). Even if I can play in the work, as soon as I restart the Internet connection fails again. Do a repair of network does not work. Often, the only way to get Internet access is to disconnect the ethernet cable.

I've fiddled with it for hours. I played with all the options, as well as 'include the ethernet connection in changing the location' but nothing helped. I can't get the ethernet connection still works.

This should be simple (and on all my other computers). Just plug in the cable and it works. I'm open to suggestions...

  • Internet connection no longer works unless I have disconnect and reconnect the wifi regularly

I find that after a time random, maybe twenty minutes a half an hour or so, my internet connection breaks down and it can only be fixed by disconnecting and reconnecting to my wifi network.

It is a problem on my iMac of retina 2014 running El Capitan and 2011 MacBook Air my wife running Mountain Lion (but not on my MacBook Air of 2011 which takes place in Yosemite).

It does not seem to be triggered by almost anything, but it's maddening to have to do all the time. It's a router NetGear btw, less than a year.

If anyone has a solution I'd love to hear it!

  • Apple TV (9.2.1) removes the internet connection when you try to use Siri

    Greetings,

I think I saw network related issues with my Apple TV. Everything works fine most of the time. But sometimes, including, but not limited to, when I try to use Siri, Apple TV almost always drops the wireless internet connection. I've included a picture below of exactly what it looks like. I scoured both online that I can but it doesn't look like anyone has the same problems.

I called Apple support and they suggested that I connect to another source of wifi. I used my hotspot on my iPhone and the Apple TV has worked well without any hitch in the connection. This leads me to believe it's firewall partner.

However, I have disabled literally of each firewall setting I found in my router and still cannot find a solution. I also use a WAP browser in addition to router which is what my Apple TV is connected to. My WAP is an enterprise-level device, but I'm having issues access to the features of the admin of it network. Before I go and reset my WAP I wanted to get additional advice from people with experience in networking and firewall, especially with services like Siri.

Thanks in advance. Pics and info of additional device below.

Hello. I don't think that this has nothing to do with the firewall, etc. When you use Siri, you send your voice via Bluetooth to ATV. If your WiFi signal is weak, the Bluetooth maybe block, if you are using 2.4 GHz. could you try to connect to a network of 5 GHz and see if that helps?

  • I updated firefox and you have a question, if I allowed firefox to use my internet connection, I clicked on No - by mistake - and now firefox is locked, it can not use it at all.

I got a message that he did not have an update for firefox. When the update has been done, I have a question if I would allow firefox to use my internet connection. By mistake I clicked No, and which showed that Firefox is now locked. I can't go out on the internet at all with her. When I write in links or try to write words for the search nothing happens.
Tried to download firefox and reinstall but it is still blocked.
I use internet explorer, so the problem is not in the Internet.
How do I unlock Firefox so I can use it again?

Your firewall block access Firefox, read here for more information on how to enable the connection again depending on your firewall:

  • Internet connection via Wi - Fi on MacBook Pro

I had problems with my MBP WiFi since I got it. I tried to follow the suggestions here:http://osxdaily.com/2014/10/25/fix-wi-fi-problems-os-x-yosemite/with no luck.

My internet connection will not go away, but I will be always connected to Wi - Fi. Requests for a browser will be blocked until they then expire. I often have to reboot to fix the problem.

I brought in the Apple Store when it first started happening, but as it is a random event, they couldn't reproduce them. They said there was nothing they could do.

There is definitely something wrong with the laptop, because I have one older MBP as well as several other devices connected to the Wi - Fi connection, and they do not have these problems.

Your router provides firewall protection, so the need is not the same
as if you had no a router. There are some who say you need to no.
    all firewall software.

But my opinion is that you would be a lot safer if you have run a
router software, and since there is little reason not to, I
    recommend that you do.

    Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP

    I agree.

@OP Windows XP (SP2 and above), Vista, 7 and 8 all have active firewall software by default.

There is no need of any 3rd party firewall.

Some users like running programs such as ZoneAlarm because it warns him from the processes that use the network, and then there is the possibility to deny/allow it on the spot, or deny/allow forever. There may be slight discomfort in the installation, but once it's for all your programs, and then it really can work in silent mode.

Microsoft Firewall simply leave everything default, but they can be configured manually to block anything outgoing or incoming.

  • No internet connection detected. Please reconnect and try again

I downloaded an online game, and whenever I try to run the client for download, it says "not detected internet connectivity.  Please reconnect and try again. »

I use a laptop and on my own connection, it's to 5 bars and I can connect to firefox and internet explore.

I do not see what is the problem, if someone can alleviate this situation for me, I'd be very happy.

Without knowing more details, I have two guesses.

    (1) a firewall blocking the application.

    (2) the servers that the game tries to connect are down.

    Is what game this?

  • Why programs not marked in the list of windows firewall exceptions are still able to maintain the internet connection?

    Original title: exceptions to firewall

Can someone explain how I have after uncheck the programs in the list of windows firewall exceptions, they are still able to maintain an internet connection? I use XP sp3.

    1. what makes you think that this unnamed programs are still able to maintain an Internet connection?

2 Windows Firewall blocks unsolicited incoming connections.  Thus, for example, if you (or malicious software), set up a FTP server running on your computer, Windows Firewall will block an application from the Internet on your computer that are trying to establish a connection and download some of your files.

However, when your web browser sends a request to a Web site server to load a page, incoming web server traffic is allowed because it's in response to a request made on your computer.

This distinction between the incoming and outgoing traffic is why some people insist that the third-party firewall, which usually block/monitor of traffic in both directions is required.  The scenario is that you inadvertently introduce malware on your computer (in any number of ways), and then the malware "phones home" to establish a link with the bad guys, who continue to do what they want on your computer.

  • Internet connection sharing and dynamic dns.

    Hi all.

Thank you for taking the time to read my message and respond. Much appreciated :-)

I have an old machine to windows xp with a usb key with an internet connection while I wait for my fiber :-)

I also have another piece of equipment connected via a crossover cable and they share internet and local traffic.

The other piece of equipment has a service that is running on what I can access locally, but I wish I could use around the web.

I have signed up for a dynamic dns account and have a host name.

I've assigned my public ip address for the host name, then im stuck. I tried several times and countless forums but I can't get my head around dynamic dns process. Can someone inform me?

the service runs on a particular port, and I know that I need to port forward, but I normally would in a router and I'm wundering is there a way to do it under windows?

    Any help would be appreciated.

And I know diet teaspoon is not an option.

  • Internet connection only in Mode safe mode with networking

I was using the Internet at home, when I had a pop up telling me there was an anti-virus program download. I pulled out the window pop-up, rebooted the computer and turned on safe mode with network. I thought it was just a problem of virus/malware/spyware. Since I installed several programs to prevent/remove any type of spyware (virus, etc.), I decided to run in safe mode, just in case. I ran the and after he said that my computer was clean, I restarted the computer in normal mode. The internet, however, did more work. He said that the Internet connection was closed portals HTTP, HTTPS and FTP. He also recommended that I check my firewall settings. I use the internet in safe mode with networking, and it works here though.

I'm not really sure what the problem is with the internet settings. I could really use some help!

    Hi AngelicaR,

OK, you should now check your firewall settings, to do so right click my network connection on your desktop-> select Properties (or click Start-> Settings Control Panel-> network connection)

Now right click on your connection to the LAN->-> Advanced->-online advanced, settings, settings-the default settings online-> restore default settings. This will restore the default firewall on your local network connection. Click ok on the screen and restart your pc to see if its working.

If you find the same problem again and then come to the same path: required connection to the local network-> settings-> Advanced-> settings-online Exceprions-> Tickmark the HTTP, HTTPS and FTP, also tickmark "display notification when firewall blocks a program" that will help you the notification to allow access through the firewall. Click ok on the whole screen, restart your pc.

    I hope this helps.
