Introducing a Dell RAM 4 years a new T530

Hello

So I bought in a T530 and may consider retiring from my old Dell in 2009. I think to insert the 4 GB memory (2 DIMMs) DDR3 in the T530 (currently with 8 GB of RAM 1DIMM), otherwise I can also choose to buy a new RAM so that I can use my old Dell for trivial tasks. Like DDR3 RAMs was barely released in 2009, I don't know if there was no concern for the execution of two Rams of different specification. I'll post the detailed specifications of the two RAMs below:

In T530: Capacity - 8589934592, MemoryType - 0, speed - 1600, TypeDetail - 128

In old Dell: 2 * capacity - 2147483648, MemoryType - 1, speed - 1066, TypeDetIail - 128

Please please advise if there are concerns about my idea of installing RAM. If there is other information required, please tell me and I will update the information here. Thank you very much!

Not recommended.

Your old RAM will slow the T530 thanks to its lowest speed.

Add another 8 GB of PC1600 DIMM to your ThinkPad and call it a day.

    Hi all
I have a Satellite M55-S325 with MAT * A DVD - RAM UJ-years 840 Firmware Version 1.52 I bought States 5 months ago, everything seemed fine until a few weeks ago when I tried to write some data DVD, I had unrecoverable errors while writing the DVD using NERO 7 ULTRA EDITION, but now I get this messege all the time and I'm not able to write any DVD the disc seems to be well in CD writing. I tried to use recording SOUND now that comes with the laptop, no luck. I tried to reduce the size of the files, and try with lower write speeds but still no luck. I disabled burning CD of the Windows XP SP2 IMAPI burning service COM as well. I use a good quality DVD-R that worked fine before. I would appreciate your help because my HDD is almost full (but still 10 GB of free space) and I need to get a backup of my data.

    Hello

I can't find any strange or mysterious messages in the log file.
You suggested that the drive can burn CDs but not DVDs.
The calibration lens dysfunction is sometimes responsible for these issues.
Unfortunately, I have no solution for this problem. The replacement drive must resolve.
The unit is fairly new in this case, you should ask for help ASP.

  • who to keep? brand new T530 or Macbook Pro retina 7 months?

I just got a brand-new T530 as a gift. Problem is that I already have a Macbook Pro of the retina. I have been using Mac for about five years.

The specs are almost identical on computers. Can I return the T530 for a full refund and I also sell the MBPr without any problems.

My only problem with the T530 is the screen. Other that that, I can live with that. I love native Excel on the T530. I run Parallels on the MPBr to get Excel because I hate Excel 2010 for Mac.

I know it's a Lenovo forum but some honest opinions please

I think that it is difficult to give a correct answer to this question. I have two Macs and I have also two Thinkpads (currently T431s and Helix and used to have W530 and T430). I prefer the Thinkpad because I mainly use Windows for the same reason as you, I prefer Office 2013 for Windows on Office for Mac 2011. Windows works as best for work in my case since the company I work for use of many Microsoft products. However I do also some iOS development app so need a Mac. I love the Mac as well and have parallels desktop, but Windows programs to run faster on my ThinkPad and the Mac when you use parallels. Of course, it is also possible to use bootcamp to run Windows which is faster than parallels.

I would say that if you use mainly Windows programs go to the Thinkpad, but the W530 is a pretty heavy laptop, although I prefer height weight og Mac which could be a factor as well. I used to have a W530 which is awesome, but prefer a smaller laptop so as the T430, T431s and X carbon 1 better.

It is difficult for someone else to tell you what you choose, and this is something that you need to figure out your own.

  • Security and dell updates Computer Configuration screen new

    Hello

A new computer, arriving today, will be a year 1 subscription of McAfee internet security. I prefer not to activate, but rather to install and use one of my 3 licenses for Norton Internet Security 2013.

The new Configuration screens computer Dell have one called 'security and dell updates' which saves both Dell and the McAfee subscription updates. No other choice except all cannot be ignored.

If I skip this step, (1) this will prevent activation of McAfee (if not turned on, then maybe I can leave it on the computer should I want to later uninstall Norton and use McAfee, if possible)? and (2) separately, manually register updates Dell so I don't lose this Dell Update functionality?

  • Can I use a Dell P2714H HD and a monitor Dell P2715Q together on my new macpro?

I want to use a P2714H Dell HD and a Dell P2715Q monitor k 4 together on my new Mac Pro.

This is so that I can see the differences between the two.

I would like to know first if they can work together, and second, what are the pitfalls involved?

If someone has encountered this, I would really like to know.

I use Yosemite with the latest operating system.

They work very well when the two connected tot a 2103 end Mac Pro.

For the 4K monitor simply use a spirit cable mini displayport on each end and connect it to a port Thunderbolt

For the other monitor to get a cable with a mini displayport on one end and displayport on the other end. This monitor has a displayport input so use it.

Connect each monitor to another bus Thunderbolt

  • How can I activate windows on a Dell Latitude 600 with a new CD of xp home?

My computer crashed. He originally had XP Professional on it, but I bought a new CD which is XP Home. Now he does not accept the product key to activate windows.

The only way to your key on the Dell (assuming that says Windows XP Pro) will work is if you use a CORRESPONDING installation CD, which means a generic OEM Windows XP Pro CD. You cannot use a XP Pro key with installation of XP Home Media!

Your best bet is to get a CD of mark Dell XP Pro. And you don't even need to worry about enter a key since Dell uses SLP (System-locked Preinstallation), which means that the activation will have already taken place.
You might even be able to have Dell send you for a small fee:

You need an imaging utility, similar to True Image Home 2011 either Migrate Easy 7.0

    http://www.Acronis.com/homecomputing/products/TrueImage/

    http://www.Acronis.com/homecomputing/products/MigrateEasy/

If you buy the Seagate hard drive retail box version, a copy of Acronis should be included, it can be used only with their readers, or you can download it from the Web of Seagate website, you will also find that other hard drive manufacturers have their own free cloning software available.

First, install the new drive as the secondary image, the exsisting C: / for her.

Immediately stop the system, switch the data cable [SATA port 0] to the new disk, making the new master hard drive and see if the system boots properly.

Start the system with only the new hard drive connected.

Be sure to leave the original drive disconnected, until the new hard drive is working to your satisfaction.

Before cloning a hard drive, make sure that existing drive has no corruption or virus on it, because they will be transferred to the new hard drive.

It will take a second SATA data cable, there should be a spare connector to SATA power inside the housing.

  • GPU RAM 6 year old system

    Hi all

I was little by little the upgrade my old system of 6 year for use as a workstation, a temporary solution until I can build a platform of the use made of video editing. So far, I've installed an i7-870 processor, as well as 16 GB or RAM. I am now looking into what GPU, I can afford to get, which isn't a lot so I'm stuck buying used gear from eBay.

I currently use the first, After Effects, Encore CS6, Photoshop and Lightroom. I work with a variety of codecs in 1080 p and occasionally the 4K images.

My question is what are the advantages I could see between a GTX 680 with 2 GB or 4 GB of RAM on board? These programs would benefit from this extra GPU RAM? The reactivity of standardization through sequences, RAM previews and rendering speed of would be better off with 4 GB of RAM or just 2 GB?

Any advice would be most appreciated, thank you.

    Hi LLoyd,

Be aware of older GPU, NVIDIA in particular. The current drivers required by the most recent operating systems, sometimes will not work with older GPU. Settle in the hardware forum, as well.

    Thank you

You should be able to, you may need to buy an additional SATA III (6.0 GB/s) cable to connect the drive (if the drive you buy is not equipped with a cable. Also, until you buy make sure that you have a SATA port on your motherboard.
