I have a router dlink/access point. I run my laptop on the wireless. I have an Iomega hard drive attached by wire to the router. I'm trying to get my laptop. I see the hard drive on my network, but when I try to access to I get a window to enter my username and password. • Iomega Portable hard drive now does not appear under "Devices" after accidentally deleted USB cable. USB

My Iomega eGo Portable hard drive was connected by USB on my Macbook Pro OSX 10.9.5 cable and I was transferring my iPhoto folder. Unfortunately, the cable dropped and I got a message on my laptop hard drive had not ejected correctly. I reconnected it the cable, but now, it does not appear under devices in the search page. I also checked the disc utilities and it isn't here either. I tried to connect the hard drive of my iMac, but it does not appear in the devices out there either.

Although I have been using a Mac since they first appeared on the market and can usually work things, I find it more and more difficult with all the new technology. Everything that used to be so easy, one of the great things the Mac since MS-DOS.

If anyone can help I would be very grateful, because I have a lot of files on this disc of old Mac and use the Iomega to backup my most important files.

The drive may have failed.

Try different USB cables.

Remove the naked drive from the iOmega enclosure and test it in a known functional wardrobe.

Ciao.

• Satellite M70 (PSM71E) Firewire / IEEE 1394 Device number

I recently bought an Iomega eGo 250 GB Portable Hard Drive with USB 2.0 connections and Firewire 400.

The Firewire port on the drive's type 6 pins. My Satellite M70 notebook computer has a Firewire 4 socket pins on the left side. I have an external power supply for the reader of the eGo. When I connect it to my laptop using a cable Firewire 4 pin 6 pin is not recognized. Nothing happens at all. I tried to disable the IEEE 1394 network adapter and reboot of Windows XP Home Edition with no luck. This drive connects and works very well using the USB cable, but I prefer using Firewire. The reader connects and works very well using the Firewire cable 6-pin 6-pin on my PC at home.

Is there something I need to do to make the drive work using the Firewire port? I have no other Firewire devices to test the port with.

Any help would be appreciated!

Maybe the cable is defective? Is it the cable supplied with the HARD drive or did you buy it separately?

You can buy more 6-pin to 4-pin adapter online. Google "firewire 6-pin to 4-pin adapter.

• Specifications of IOmega Home Media 1 TB NAS storage

I have an IOMega Home Media drive that I bought a few years ago now (http://www.iomega.com/about/prreleases/2009/010509_home_media.html) and decided to start using it primarily as a server for my high-resolution audio. It is to be newly acquired Setup for my network Naim UnitiQute streamer. However, I have discovered since the performance of the NAS IOmega is pitifully bad and is actually unusable for its intended purpose. For example, it took well over 24 hours to remove 100 GB of old media (my low resolution itunes library and other things). So I can actually stream high resolution to my Naim network drive, I need to buy another drive superior performance NAS, but for this I need to know the material detailed specifications of the car so I can compare these measurements with other new potential players. for example the Nas Lacie 2Big. What I'm looking for above all, is the amount of RAM and the processor clock frequency. These are usually specified in new NAS drives, but IOmega because do not exist in their own right over and Lenovo did a pretty bad job on acknowleding the existence of older IOmega products, its very difficult for me to find this information. I need this information to help me not to buy a new NAS drive that is simply not up to par, so thanks in advance. There may be a link to the specifications of the product on Lenovo somewhere.

Hi yebbi,

You can find the specifications of this device here: ftp://ftp.iomega.com/com/launchkit/mediahomenetwork/pri_34336_home_media_nhd_500gb.pdf

• How to reset the password for iomega storecentre ix2 without losing my data

Im having a problem accessing the iomega storecentre ix2. I can not connect on the nas server. How can I reset the password without losing my data on it. It is avisable to reset using the reset button without losing my data?

Thank you!

AJ

Hi altagumasi,

The reset button of the pinhole on the rear panel of the unit resets user and network settings. It will not delete your data. Press on the reset button for 15 seconds and the device should restart. After the reboot, you will go through the initial setup process.

• Iomega IX4 - 200 d - Boot Loop

Hello.

Hello.

We currently have an Iomega IX4 - 200 d that is stuck on a loop of Boot Logo Iomega.

I have posted a youtube video showing the issue in order to provide a better explanation.

https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=aGLS5HfHPLM

The unit worked perfectly well and all the sudden we noticed that we had any access to the content.

At the time that I arrived at the unit, it's this way.

Content have already been recovered using a machine linux, and now the 4 HARD drives have been tested and are 100% functional.

We tried a few methods found on internet, HARD drive partitions were removed and all, but we just can't get the device to work.

Any help is welcome.

Best regards
Paulo brine.

OK, I managed to fix my Iomega IX4 - 200 d, not supported by Lenovo, but in any case, for those who seek to challenge their units, you can find all the necessary files and instructions here:

• IOMEGA ScreenPlay Director error 12

Hello

I just found out that I bought my ScreenPlay Director exactly 3 years so I'm afraid it's really just out of warranty today...

When I start the camera, I get the screen below (error 12: content present, please restart your product), with additional version information... Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem?

I could solve myself, here you can see how:

This means error there is no content on the hard disk, all the partitions have been deleted, so to return the partitions, you must recover from a backup or other device...

• IOMEGA 1 TB USB 2.0 EGO

I have lost the power of this backup drive, IOMEGA 1 TB USB 2.0 eGO.

I have a SEAGATE PSU rated at 2 amps but the IOMEGA is rated at 1.5 amps.

Can the power of the amp SEAGATE 2.0 be used?

If not, where can I get a replacement power supply for 1.5 amp for the IOMEGA?

Hi OLDMAN1938,

I would not recommend using a power supply which does not meet the specifications of the device from Iomega. Unfortunately, we do not have power supplies for sale. I recommend finding an electronics store that has a power supply according to the specifications of the eGo, or you can look online for a replacement power.

• Reset & drive usb Iomega GDHDU2 information

I have an Iomega GDHDU2 USB drive apparently with a drive hard Samsung HD 103SI in that I am connected to a Bell Expressvu receiver sat TV like a VCR digital and used for awhile, but then disconnected after a few questions but now try to use it again without success. Receiver recognizes that it is there and begins a reboot that never ends. Is it possible to do a factory reset so that the receiver will make a new format and use the player? When I try to find an Iomega site towards what I am redirected here which has no information on this record and there is nothing on the site of Samsung. If I connect it to my computer device manager considers it and says it's good, but explore can not find so I can't use it or remove the content and can not find a way to reformat. Help!

Note of the moderator; issue published; added disc type

Thanks for your reply. I don't have to use it I used a partition manager to access the hard drive to find that my sat receiver had formatted it with non-windows partitions. Changed partitions back to windows and then when I connected to the sat receiver he again did a full format and it works now.

• Iomega HSM stall shortly after startup

I have an Iomega 1 TB Hsm working successfully on my network 2 PC for at least 4 years. Mainly I access it from my Windows 7 PC. It is mainly used for the backup.

Normally it appears in Windows Explorer as distinct from 5 or 6-drive external, indicating each the same maximum and storage used.

Today a bunch of afterinitial time, all "readers" has disappeared from Windows Explorer and all other list file/folder. All that remained was a record called 'Photos' displayed in the network category.

I tried to restart the HSM and found that the power button had no effect, so I simply had to pull on the power cord. The HSM exploded, like the white LED. When I plugged back it it after a few minutes, the blue LED still did not come. Then I restarted the PC and everything is back to normal - for a short period.

I did this procedure several times during the day, with the same result each time - normality for a few minutes then failed.

Tonight I looked with that community site and found a response on May 11, 2013, a similar problem by bshadid.

1. I followed the first stage of the response by directly connecting the HSM to my PC and without going through the router. I turned on both devices, but has seen no sign explicit of the HSM startup. Nor did he ask me for an APiPA address. All 5 or 6 "readers" will appear in Windows Explorer without any specific action from me.
2. However, I used the arp-a command Windows twice or more to get what I assumed to be the APiPA address you want - 00-d0-b8-09-dc-84
3. When I tried to use this address in Internet Explorer to access the HSM, it was rejected.
4. Hoping that I had healed but the problem, I reconnected the HSM and PC separately to the router and restarted both. NOT GOOD!

The only thing I've ever done is update the driver for the HSM, even if I'm working on Windows 7, while the HSM seems to date from the time of Windows XP. I dared not do this because update instructions warn against the danger of losing files to update, and I have nowhere to save data outside the HSM itself!

Another possibility, I thought, is that the partition (?) backups of the HSM could have a limitation of the size that has now been exceeded. But Windows does not give me access to this information.

Most important developments since I posted my question:

It's clearly a hardware failure: there is shortly after the restart of the HSM, a clicking sound coming from the unit, and 5 out of the 6 'readers' disappear again in Windows Explorer.
I'm going to buy a new device and I hope as the old one remains alive long enough for me copy at least the most important of the old data.

• Rescue and recovery lists no backup on USB Iomega eGO drive

Hello

I have been using an Iomega eGO external backups USB drive.

I was able to identify and remove (if necessary) backups in Windows 7 and rescue & recovery running, but I can't get the list of backups at the start of a recovery in rescue & recovery DVD.

Basically I replaces unencrypted with a SSD hard drive that supports encryption.

The goal was to use a full backup immediately before removing the HARD drive to restore the complete system.

At the start of the recovery DVDs, recovery utility & rescue lists not all backups, even when the check box for the list of backups on other systems is checked.

It makes no difference if the selection of THE places or USB external drive.

Any ideas?

Backups are not much good if you can't get back them.

If my old drive did not then I would be in a worse state than this. I can't say I'm impressed.

Well, I've finally sorted this issue.

I tried to create a new recovery disk.

I even tried the recovery time in Windows and see what backups it detected. Yet once, I drew a blank.

The question was this:

On my W510 at least, none of the USB3.0 ports are recognized by Lenovo rescue and recovery software when you select the USB storage device. Once connected to a single USB 2.0 port the USB eGo has been recognized and listed backups.

Unfortunately, this means a minimum of 6 hours to restore from a full backup!

• Iomega 3 years warranty is always worth anything?

http://www.iomegasupportforums.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=159907#159907

Because I found that the subject of the original forum the Forum of Iomega is now moderator only post, I'm forced to continue here.

I will issue the retailer of lawsuits under the sale of goods act as the IX2 is not quality of satisfavtory or fit for purpose. My experience of the Iomega guarantee is worthless and I lost all hope to just get my data stored and the devices returned for a full refund.

I am considering a youtube video by emphasizing the fact that design cooked hard drives, function torrent suffered months of broken function, the windows, the permissions of files peer-to-peer fail to copy data successfully from one disk to another.

Peripheral renovated store came with seagate disks known to defective failure as well as a sata card.

Finally Iomega left forum users with not directly in contact with support and left forum moderators to try to help with the products.
