This model is quite old and has been supported for Win7. I can just say... no luck. A lot of older machines may well work with newer operating systems, but they are not officially supported.

What should do? Try to check if the drivers, tools and utilities for a newer machine with similar hardware can be used on your laptop Satellite A.

I had the similar problem in the past with Vista and no supported Win7.

  • Internet TV is not available in Windows Media Center

I upgraded four machines to Windows 7. Two of them were clean installs and Netflix and Internet TV options are available. However, two of the machines made an upgrade on the spot and Netflix and Internet TV options are not available. Is there an update available so that I can update Windows Media Center on these machines? If this is not the case, how can I get that option?

    Thank you
    Bill

The following has worked for me in the Canada:

Open Control Panel, select clock, language and region

Select the location to change and change in the United States

Select the administration tab and change settings English (United States) system locale and save changes

then delete the contents of the c:\programdata\ehome folder (I moved content in a folder temporary everything first just in case...)

Launch Media Center, download updates, shut it down after receiving notification of download completed (if your not sure its finished, you can check the Media Center icon in the notification bar, if it has an arrow toward the low point over-buried on it, its download yet)

restart the Media Center and select TV and Internet TV so the Guide should be there.

Note some of the programming of a regional protection based on the ip address, so some channels will be always blocked

I've read other messages indicating Internet TV once was performed for the first time, you can change the settings of the control panel you actual location, but I did not and does not check what I prefer to let my settings as USA because I think faster using the SAE measures instead of the metric.

  • A satellite - DVD Drive not seen by Windows Explorer

The DVD on D deive is not seen by windows Explorer. Used to work, it has now disappeared. The dvd hardwars starts at the start, then stop.

    Any ideas anyone?

    Hello

You see the DVD drive in Device Manager and you then yellow exclamation points?
Maybe you should just remove the drive from Device Manager and reboot the laptop. Select the drive in the Device Manager, right-click on it and choose uninstall. Then, restart the laptop.

If it doesn't work try the workaround posted by Akuma to remove upper and lower filters.

    Hi 5466,

    Thanks for your replies.

Vista has characteristics of property for files in folders that you might be able to carry out some sort of system that allows you to know your staff for the file that you place in the folder.

There isn't a download from Microsoft which has the attribute that you speak of to allow the classification of Word documents.  Information online about this process does not specifically address the attribute you have written in to place the dimension on the record.

Here is a possible work around you

When you view them documents in the folder, they are placed, check Details of the menu view is marked.

Then in the file that is created, right click and select Properties, in the TAG field type a general comment as '5 stars' or one who would submit to you the rating desired - in this field of the Details tab of the properties as Judd had suggested in a previous post.   You can use this field to record the files you have chosen personally.

Of course it's all a work around, but please let us know if this helps you.

    Kind regards

  • Disk hard online, but not visible in Windows Explorer

Hi guys, I need a little help.

Today, I installed an old 80 GB Maxtor Diamondmax 10 PATA hard drive on my other PC, a Dell Inspiron 530, as a second HDD. I had to order new parts to connect actually upward from the power supply and motherboard SATA and IDE connections are not, but all those who are working very well.

My problem is that this Maxtor drive does not appear in Windows Explorer. BIOS, see Device Manager it disk management he sees (and even said it's online). Just not Windows Explorer.

In disk management, it is not a drive letter assigned to it, and when I right click on the disk partitions, anything but 'Delete the Volume' and 'Help' are grayed out. (Screenshot here: http://i39.tinypic.com/2ujpbeo.png)

I'm a bit stumped, it's almost like I can't use the drive at all. Any ideas?

Here's some more information about the system:

OS: Windows Vista editions Home Premium (Build 6002, Service Pack 2)

    BIOS: Phoenix AwardBIOS review 1.0.18

    Motherboard: Foxconn G33M02

    CPU: Intel Pentium Dual-Core E2140 1.6gHz

    Memory: 3072 MB DDR2 SDRAM

First HARD drive: 250 GB Hitachi SATA sister

HARD drive secondary: 80 GB Maxtor Diamondmax 10 PATA (with jumper set to "Master DS")

    GPU: ASUS EAH4670

And I should add, just in case... This is PATA to SATA card, I use the drive: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320759737706?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT & _trksid = p3984.m1439.l2649

And I just use a SATA to Molex cable I found to convert the power.

    Thank you

    Hello

Thanks for this info. I looked more into filesystems and it turns out that the disc was either FAT or NTFS - it was EXT2 which is a Linux file system. I found this by starting Ubuntu that supports multiple file systems.

I didn't format it had data on personal, but I found an EXT2 driver and can now browse the Windows hard disk.

  • 10 blackBerry phone not visible in Windows Explorer - post 10.3 upgrade

I installed 10.3 on my Q10 without problem, given the mix icon and decided to install (after using the work of passports), so a number of things...

1 mix downloaded now--but it wants to install on a f - that would be the Q10.

    2. when connected via USB (or wifi) Q10 is not visible in Windows Explorer (it was fine to the point 10.2)

    3. can we see the riders started to install, but then he restores and a 'installation failed, cannot find f' appears.

4 is intended to flow in Q10.

Anyone got any ideas I can try?

Found, go to settings > networks and connections > Services connection > USB and drag it to the position USB mass storage Mode on. It will then display as an Ext. hdd in Windows Explorer.

  • External hard disks do not appear in Windows Explorer

I have Win 7 SP1 64 bit Home Premium. Recently, four external drives are not recognized in Windows Explorer, but show in disk device manager &. They all work well and are recognized in another PC. I have tried different methods to solve the problem without success. I unplugged all the USB ports and the power supply for the discs off the PC. After a reboot, one by one, I turned on the readers and attached to their USB cable. Plug & Play worked well and I could open the files in the first drive. The player showed in disk management, the Manager of devices and Windows.  As soon as I installed the second disc, one disappeared from the Windows folder but remained in Mgt of disc and Device Manager. It's the same thing when I installed the readers of 2nd, 3rd and 4th... After the shutdown of the PC and turn it back on, none of the drives show in Windows, but has shown in managing disks and Device Manager.

I also tried Mr. Fixit. I uninstalled all the USB controllers. I activated turn on AutoPlay. Nothing has solved the problem! If she can be of any consequence or relevant to this problem, the internal drive in my PC now has been cloned from a smaller drive about a month ago. Any help to solve this frustrating problem would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Dave
