ip address unknown/devices home bt and network hub

can anyone help to shed light...

my partners son who lives with us was based from the internet use for the week last night. the House of bt is configured to block its devices (xbox, Tablet and phone) from 22.00 until it comes to the school. so last night I change the block all day. I went previously to verify that I had put that right and I noticed on the page setting where I can control the devices, on ten new, all very similar but different end therefore I had to put them all. less than an hour of him arriving home from school, there was more. so I changed the password necessary to access wireless internet. can someone explain the different devices, it is possible for a phone to keep changing his id?

I have problems with USB flash drives and other plug-and-play devices detected by windows. After taking all possible measures to correct this problem (e.g. windows update, chip / update of the bios, update driver, driver and media ultilites reinstall, uninstall and allow windows update after restarting, removal of hidden devices and even remote tech support from Dell) whenever I connect a flash drive or use all plug-and-play devices it is detected as an unknown device and I can not put updated pilot any port I use. Hardware problems were excluded dute to recognition of the device and USB keyboard and USB mouse are functioning properly. Also these same plug-and-play devices worked well on other items of work. After Googling my eyeballs, I gave up and need help please. The only thing I can do now is to reinstall the operating system that really, really, I don't want to do.

    UPDATE *.

Dell has replaced the motherboard and the problem was solved. Thanks to all here who offered advice and patience.
  • Unknown devices appear on the network?

Hello. I just bought an E900 and I make TVs and phones on the network, which i haven´t connected. They don t appear in the DHCP list, and I've changed the SSID and password and restarted the router and the PC. They do or see when running - an arp. As soon as I connect my old router that these devices disappear and Don t appear again until I have plug the Linksys. PC is clean, antivirus and anti-malware.

It also seems that the Linksys forces my G930 to reconnect, that didn t happen with my old router (Belkin F7D2301 V1).

(Until I got a TP - Link TL - WR941ND V4 that reconnects, who was one of the reasons why I've changed for the Belkin.)

    Any ideas?

    Hello Jay_D.

I just tried again. Factory reset the router again. Changed the SSID and password in a totally different frame then seized. I even changed the Routername. Always get devices in the network.

Devices to disappear and reappear again after a short period. However, that TV Bravia disappeared and hasn´t again, phones are still there and now I even got a few Phillips TV showing. The TV only I have is a Toshiba, and doesn´t even have a network card.

  • installation of unknown device causing vista freeze

For these last days, I get this notification in windows vista:

WINDOWS WILL ASK AGAIN THE NEXT TIME YOU PLUG IN YOUR DEVICE OR LOG ON.
    * DO NOT SHOW THIS MESSAGE FOR THIS DEVICE
YOUR DEVICE WILL NOT WORK UNTIL YOU INSTALL DRIVER
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nothing really happened, and I found myself ignoring the notification. But this morning, when she appeared again, after a few minutes, Windows Vista just froze and I couldn't do anything, not even the good old CTRL + ALT + DELETE. I was forced to turn off the laptop. After a while, I decided to start it up and still once, this notification frozen windows. I don't know what to do now. This seems to happen after about 5 minutes of connection, so I can't really back up my files in the five minutes before it crashes again.
my windows vista is running on an installation in dual boot on a 5 years old macbook pro.
Ive tried looking for solutions, but I have a lot of luck. I NEED HELP! :)

When you click SEARCH AND INSTALL DRIVER SOFTWARE (RECOMMENDED), which is the error message that comes. Because Windows says it cannot locate or install the drivers for the device?

  • Unknown device on network adapter between the laptop and the wireless router

I am running windows 7 64 bit on a laptop computer connected wireless to the router and internet.  The router is Linksys WRT160N connected to the internet.  The map of the network, there is a question mark device unknown between the laptop and the router.  However, I still have access to the internet.  In terms of network, if I hover over the laptop, it does not show an IP address.  It only shows the name of the computer and its MAC address.  Any help would be appreciated.

Solved my problem.  I checked the button of the IPv6 protocol in the properties of a network connection on the laptop, and now I can see it's the IP address and the unknown device has been replaced by a switch and hub which is part of the router.   I do not uncheck the button IPV4.  I'm guessing that it is a bug in Windows 7 that you need to cut of ipV6 Protocol when you have a Win XP computer on the network if you want to see a map of own network.  As I said before, everything worked before, so this seems to be a cosmetic fix only.  I see that my shared files on the XP computer appear faster after a reboot.

  • Unknown device on a home network

I have a Cisco modem and connect my laptop on the same wireless network, which is a connection, but I have a? on my network and its an unknown device... what or who is this?

Log into the router and try and find a page that lists the connected devices. Remove devices you can work on what they are, then look at the unknown items. With most routers it will list the MAC address of each unit so note 3 1 number for any unidentified two characters. Go to this site http://www.coffer.com/mac_find/ and enter the recorded values and say which manufacturer the MAC address has been assigned to.

Typical findings include mobile phones, tablets, games consoles and satellite receivers. These frequently do not correctly identify.

  • Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit with Canon IP6600D printer and unknown device

I have a Windows 7 Premium build with a Canon Pixma IP6600D printer.  It worked sporatically at first with my Windows 7 until recently.  Now, I get an unknown device and the USB Plug N Play reports that it is not recognizing the device.  The USB port on the printer is good as it works perfectly on my XP machines and the USB port is on the PC as the other devices are recognized without incident.

I tried stuff Device Manager usual for updated driver, updates the window, etc.  As this is a printer compatible 64-bit of Windows 7 (with some minor limitations), I was wondering why all drivers for Windows 7 is not recognize this printer.  Printer is good, USB is good, the cable is good.  Of course, the OEM driver disk is more compatible to reload the printer because it is a 32-bit application.  So, I rely on Microsoft Windows 7 drivers Canon for the deal.

Just got off the phone with Canon and they confirm that the driver of Windows 7 are compatible plug-n-play and all I need and that Canon does not provide one direct driver other than the Add on Windows 7 x 64.

Yet once, I ran all the windows and the driver updates to say everything is as current as possible.

  • Portege M440 - Vista problems: problems of Bluetooth, the unknown device and tablet.

I just installed Vista on my Portege M400 and installed all the drivers on the driver Vista page.
    But I have several questions...

1: bluetooth does not work. I can't find anywhere in Control Panel whatever it is on a connection bluetooth or something else.

2: after you have installed all the drivers on the driver Vista page, there is 2 "unknown device" in Device Manager. I can't find any information on what are these devices. However, when I tried to manually install the driver bluetooth on the first of them "Unknown device" he admitted the driver. This does not work on the other. And it does not solve the problem of the bluetooth missing.

3: the tablet itself feature works very well - the pen and everything. But when I turn the screen into tablet mode it does not change the screen layout. Or the buttons on the lower part of the screen to work.

I hope that there is some sort of solution to these problems - and that someone can help me.
